Introduction
The Duel Academy is a place where dreams are made or broken. It is here that one learns the skills required to be a top-notch duelist; they don’t settle for creating anything but professionals. It is here that you make friends and tend the fires of your passion for dueling. All the previous students have all up and graduated, leaving the spaces to be filled by new ones. The ship has left the harbor, bringing the youngster to their brand new adventures. After awhile the ships foghorn blows, signaling its approach to its destination. As the students rush to the front of the ship, they take in the view that is Academy Island.
The first, and most awe-inspiring, aspect of the island that ones eyes would be drawn onto was the large volcano that would be easily mistake for mountain if it wasn’t for the large and seemingly endless amount of smoke escaping from the top. After managing to break away from that view, their eyes would then latch onto the multi-colored roofed and oddly shaped cross of Modern and Egyptian structures that was the design of the Academia Main Building, placed at the foot of the mount-, volcano. Finally, after closing dropped jaws, the students would turn to look at the small light-house, would stood jutting out from the Pier, signaling the beginning of the academy ground, signaling the beginning of their new lives and friendships to come.
The passenger ship harboring the new students arrives at the docks. Gliding to a stop, the boat lowers down its stairs to let the kids off. They pile onshore, eager to start their years at the academy. After a moment of confusion, an adult steps into the view of all the new arrivals. He introduces himself as the Vice-Chancellor and then begins to shepherd them all into a classroom with a screen. After all the students had entered the screen flickered on, showing a man behind a desk.
"Good morning and welcome my students, I'm Chancellor Laurence, the Headmaster here." He begins. "And you are the best and brightest young duelist in the world. The teaching staff here will work their hardest to make sure you become a pro in no time at all! You don't need money here, rather we take Dueling Points. You earn them by dueling, the better you play the more you earn. These points can be spent on a variety of things, most commonly used for buying booster packs. Now please, get yourself settled in at your assigned dorms. I think you'll find them quite comfortable. Depending on how you ranked of course."
The screen flicks off and the Vice-Chancellor takes to the stage. He starts to call out the names of students one by one. When the student come on the stage he/she is handed three things; an official Duel Academy Duel-Disk, A high-tech bracelet (Explained as a device used to keep track of your DP count), and three complete sets of your new uniform. After everyone received their packages, the Vice-Chancellor dismissed everyone and left the room through a side door.
Welcome to my new Yu-Gi-Oh! GX RP! I personally think the GX universe will be the easiest to role-play in because it’s set in a limited area. As the story gets deeper more areas will open up, but I want to focus on having fun more then the story, so don't get all stressed out. I'd tried to make this as free flowing as possible, so that if you need awhile off, you won't be holding anybody back. I don’t intend to hold a stern hand over this, I’ll just build the road and let you drive however you so please, however break the rules and you’ll get pulled over, in a manner of speaking.
Feel free to ask questions and/or give you input on things as they happen. Have a good plotline idea? Don’t hesitate to send me a PM with details, because I want this to last and thus plots are needed.

Arc-I
The New Kids In Town
During this arc, we will just stage duels for a few days to get a feel for the system. These duels don't have to be between other role-players, you could just duel a random un-named character.

We duel using the real-life rules, I don’t care how much money you have. However we ‘battle’ with an anime approach. For example, effects such as Time Wizard’s, were spinning the arrow instead of flipping a coin seems more appropriate, we’ll anime-it-up.
Duels will be played out in PM’s or any other convenient way, written as one, single, collaborative work, and posted all at once to avoid confusion and spamming the IC with small battle paragraphs.

If Derek heard anything from that speech, he couldn't remember. Half-way through it, he had nodded off. And when his name was called, he somehow managed to; Walk up the steps of the stage, accept the package, and walk out of the school, completely asleep. Outside, he was woken by the sounds of chatter emanating from groups of nearby students. With a yawn, he looked around, trying to find someone that he could talk to. Finding no one, he sat on a statue and opened the box he held in his hand. He instantly recognized the device know as a Duel Disk. "Oh yeah! Can't wait to test this baby out!" Derek said to himself excitedly. Setting it to the side, he peered futher into the box. Inside the box was a set of clothes, which he presumed was his new uniform. A quick glance around told him he was right, as a number of students had already changed. On top of the clothes was another device. This device looked like a small, metallic cresent, with blue, matching the color of his uniform, along the edges. "Hmm...wonder what this is?" He said as he gently lifted the device out of the box. Instinctively he held the cresent close to his wrist. With a *Clink* the open end closed around the wrist, making it impossible to fall off. "Cool, but I wonder what it's for?" He asked himself as he stared at the metal wristband.
Wanting to feel more welcome, Derek quicky snuck into a patch of trees. Using the plant-life as cover he changed into his uniform, along with taking a small leak. When walked back into veiw, he thought to himself I feel like something's missing..Oh! Right! He quickly picked up his Duel Disk from the spot where it was leaning against the statue. He then straped the device on the arm opposite the one with his new wristband. There! That feels a whole lot better. He thought of going to his dormroom to take a nap, but there was a slight problem. He didn't know where it was! "Ahh, screw it. I'll find it eventually," He sighed to himself," Time to have a look around!" He then began to wonder the complex.
After walking around for a few minutes, Derek stumbled upon what looked like an old shack. The roof was red in color, but the paint was old. Parts of the building were rusted, others were falling off completely. But, he didn't care how old it was, he was just glad he found a place to sleep. He walked around back, and all his troubles were forgotten. "Awwwwsome." Derek breathed as he took in the view before him. There was nothing but open sea as far as the eye can see. The ocean waves sparked in the sun. A combination of sea salt and a pleasant aroma assualted his sense of smell in a wonderful way. He threw his box of clothes on the ground, and using it as pillow, laid down. "Ahhh! This is perfect!" He yawned aloud, dozing off in the warm sunlight.

Tyler sat in his chair and yawned he was ready to do what he came here to do and that was become the greatest duelist in the world. He took the duel disk that was given to him and put it on his arm. It was a crimson red same as his uniform. He smiled at his deck it was official he was a student at one of the greatest schools in the world. He may have been at the lowest rank but that would soon change. once they were dsmissed he began to explore the island the sun shining brightly and reflecting off the disk. Tyler wanted to get to know the island he would be living on but the exploration was more of a reason to find his first duel. Shortly he arrived at the harbor giving up on his serch for a challenge he sat down at the edge of the dock and began to daydream.

Pino was excited as everyone else and was just waiting for his name to be called.
"Sanchez, Scares, Sendoa", Pino heard his last name called and he quickly walked up to get his stuff. He opened up the box to find everything in there with a vibrant yellow design to it. Firstly he lifted the uniform and admired how clean and awesome it looked. He quickly pulled it over himself and looked down at himself, and he wished he had brought a mirror right now. Then he took out the duel disk with a yellow design to it, and quickly strapped it on his arm. The newfound weight made him feel so powerful as if he was the greatest duelist in the world. He took his deck out of his pocket and inserted it into the device. Pino could not wait to show off his new Gemknight deck, although he still had alot of building to do. He lastly put on the last piece of equipment which was something that looked like a digital watch, but it just had the number zero on it. It was supposed to keep track of how much DP you have. This device will help Pino build his deck stronger.
With a thrilled mood he went ahead and let himslef be known. Withen minutes he was the subject of alot of people's conversation. He had already made many friends and that's how he liked it. Girls seemed to look at him and giggle while other guys seemed jealous of this. He was already really popular.

Hanataro after being called up took his box full of school needed objects, like uniform, duel disk, and more headed out side and put on the Slifer red jacket over his gray shirt and the duel disk feeling like one of the best. He looks at the duel disk messing with it saying to him self "Come one. Baka thing won't turn o-" unknowingly activates the two stowed away slots with his face right up to it getting hit and falling back on the grass. He looks up and sees two girls giggling at him wile he blushes and stands up walking away.
"Gee, first day and I already get hit in the face."
After a moment of walking he arrives at what looks like the Slifer red dorm. Hanataro gazes at it and say's to him self "Red dorm...is tool shed?" He then looks over at the harbor.
"SUGOI! Such a great view, and look at this open field outside the dorm. This is a great place to have a part or dueling. So what if shed is dorm, still seems like fun." Hanataro puts the box down holding of his new stuff and looks around thinking to him self "I wonder where everyone else is, maybe I should explore a bit more." The kid stays there for a wile contemplating on what he should do.
"Gee, first day and I already get hit in the face."

Tyler sighed and stood up and began walking to his dorm "really a toolshed" Tyler mumbled to himself. He went into the room and went to go put his things away and noticed someonewas going to be sharing the room with him. something he was used to his brother and him had shared a room bck home that was before his brother ran away to join some evil dueling cult and he swore one day he would find his brother and bring him home but until then he was here to get strong enought to beat him. He walked out side and bumped into another student he saw the guy go up on stage his name was Hanataro "oh sorry" Tyler mumbled

Hanataro looked at the other Slifer red with a blank face and said "Sumimasen. watashi no Namae wa Tsute san. Onamae ka?" Hanataro looked at Tyler and totaly forgot not everyone speaks Nihongo. He caughs and says "Sorry, I keep forgetting to speak english. My name is Hanataro Tsute. What's yours?" Hanataro started to think if he wants to duel, but he feels like he talked enough so far, and will wait for the other student to talk

"Tyler kight but you can call me Ty" Tyler said looking over the student "this may seem bunt but would you like to duel I've been itching for a challenge all day" Tyler said determined to bring his status up to that of an obelisk blue who were known notoriously as the best duelists in school and they were also th richest he knew this dream would be a long journey but he was determined.

Hanataro raises his left arm holding the duel disk to it into a flexxing position to show off it saying "Hai!" The thing inactive he looks at it trying to activate it again having it turn on getting hit in the face yet again with the two slots falling back onto the ground thinking to him self "Two times in day. I should really learn not to look straight into where the rest of the duel disk comes out." He rubs his head saying to Tyler still on his back "So...you ready to duel?"

Hanataro takes a couple of steps back to give them selfs space between each other during this duel. He draws his first five cards and says "I'll draw sense I'm going first." [5+1 cards]Having six in total at start of the duel.
"I'll summon Twin-headed Behemoth [ATK/1500 DEF/1200] in Attack mode and end my turn."

Tyler smirked and activated his duel disk and wanted to jump for joy as soon as he saw his hand (6 cards in hand)" i'll start by summoning harpie's brother (1800 atk 800 def) and set one card face down then aactivate my magic card rising air current increasing all winged beasts by 500 (2300 atk, 300 def). now I attack your twin headed behemoth for 800 points of damage" Tyler said as the winged beast lunged towards the behemoth.

The calming air and open sea was nothing but pleasurable as the boat came into port. Lena had stood on the deck of the boat the entire time. She was too excited to just sit inside. Plus, she did not know anybody. Some of the students seemed to already know one another, or they have amazing people skills. People were pairing off left and right. It did not bother Lena…much. Once the ship had come to a complete stop, the young girl made her way off the boat. Students were standing in a hug clump, not moving at all. The crowd of people did not make the confusing situation any better. No one knew what was going on, that is until they heard a voice.
The Vice Chancellor’s voice echoed towards the students. The Vice-Chancellor was giving a simple speech to the students. The words were instructions on what they would receive once their name was called. Some students seemed nervous, others too eager to go. Lena did not respond. Instead she stood there calmly and listened. Whatever the Chancellor had to say must be really important. Or at least she thought so. Once the speech was over, Lena waited for her name to be called. It was nerve wracking to stand in the crowd. Why do you ask? Well, there weren’t as many girls at the academy as she thought there would be. Lena knew that dueling is a male dominated activity, but she figured that there would be a ‘decent’ amount of girls. Well, she guessed wrong.

Jason was sitting on the top deck of the ship, where no one was. Jason had always prefered it that way ever since his father his father Jack had done the things that he had done. It was quiet, save the crashing of water onto the boat as it cut it's way through the sea. It was very peaceful, if it wasn't for the screaming of his future fellow students. He was rather surprised so many of them had friends here already. Or perhaps they knew one another before they got on the ship. It didn't matter, Jason was simply hoping to at least meet one person he could call friend, and not believe in the whole "sins of the father" thing. Jason looked up to see Academy Island, where great duelists are bred and born. He couldn't wait to dock.
The boat pulled into the academy dock smoothly and came to a halt. The other kids began to file out in two by two fashion. Jason looked up at the sun, he had rather regretted wearing his black shirt with his black jeans today, but, what was done was done. He hopped off the top deck and grabbed a railing below, then hoped onto the dock. He made his way to the spot the proctors were shepherding them to. He stood at the back waiting for something to happen. Then the kids fell quiet and voice could be heard. The voice of the Chancellor, who Jason guessed was like the principal. It was recording so his voice could be heard through the speakers. Jason listened intently, then the transmission stopped. The person who was the Vice-Chancellor got onto the stage and began calling out names.
Jason waited for his name to be called. It was a rather long time before they got to to him, another curse of his last name. When they finally called him, the other students that were waiting turned and stared at him. Way to make a guy feel welcome Jason said to himself. He got up on stage and grabbed the box and other things and was off before you could say "Let's Duel!". He ran off to a tree and opened his package to reveal a yellow blazer and yellow duel disk. He threw the blazer on leaving it unzipped. He then placed the duel disk in his bag, and his Dp bracelet on hi right wrist. He then proceeded to to the Ra dorms.......which he had no idea how to get too. So he picked a direction and started to walk.
He was walking along rather quickly. He looked up at the sun, airing out his shirt. It was pretty hot today and Jason definitely regretted his choice of wardrobe. He wasn't looking where he was walking and he ran into another Ra student with mint colored hair. "Oof! Oh, I'm really sorry about that. I guess I wasn't looking where I was going. Heheh." Jason said with an embarrassed smile. He looked at the person he just ran into and it was a girl. He hadn't seen any girls on the ship, these days Dueling was a predominantly male sport but there still where female duelists. "Hey, would you happen to know the way to the Ra dorms? I just got here and I'm pretty lost. I'm Jason, by the way." Jason sai, still embarrassed that he just ran into her. Also deciding not to tell her his last name at the moment.

He hopped off the top deck and grabbed a railing below, then hoped onto the dock. He made his way to the spot the proctors were shepherding them to. He stood at the back waiting for something to happen. Then the kids fell quiet and voice could be heard. The voice of the Chancellor, who Jason guessed was like the principal. It was recording so his voice could be heard through the speakers. Jason listened intently, then the transmission stopped. The person who was the Vice-Chancellor got onto the stage and began calling out names.
Jason waited for his name to be called. It was a rather long time before they got to to him, another curse of his last name. When they finally called him, the other students that were waiting turned and stared at him. Way to make a guy feel welcome Jason said to himself. He got up on stage and grabbed the box and other things and was off before you could say "Let's Duel!". He ran off to a tree and opened his package to reveal a yellow blazer and yellow duel disk. He threw the blazer on leaving it unzipped. He then placed the duel disk in his bag, and his Dp bracelet on hi right wrist. He then proceeded to to the Ra dorms.......which he had no idea how to get too. So he picked a direction and started to walk.
He was walking along rather quickly. He looked up at the sun, airing out his shirt. It was pretty hot today and Jason definitely regretted his choice of wardrobe. He wasn't looking where he was walking and he ran into another Ra student with mint colored hair. "Oof! Oh, I'm really sorry about that. I guess I wasn't looking where I was going. Heheh." Jason said with an embarrassed smile. He looked at the person he just ran into and it was a girl. He hadn't seen any girls on the ship, these days Dueling was a predominantly male sport but there still where female duelists. "Hey, would you happen to know the way to the Ra dorms? I just got here and I'm pretty lost. I'm Jason, by the way." Jason sai, still embarrassed that he just ran into her. Also deciding not to tell her his last name at the moment.

Hanataros Twin-headed Behemoth is desotyed by Tylers monster. But atleast with that field card Twin-headed Behemoth also gained the 500 ATK points [2000 ATK] lossing 300 LP. [4000-300=3700]

Lena walked around aimlessly. Even though she knew he goal was to find the RA dorms, but she couldn’t help enjoying the sights on the way. The island is so beautiful. The young girl smiled at the green grass and at the people walking around. ‘Everything is so pretty and calm’ she thought with a peaceful expression. Lena continued to walk without a care in the world, that is, until something or someone crashed into her.
Lena is not a small girl, standing at five feet seven inches. So, the bump was not enough to send her flying. However, it did knock her back into reality. Lena was so surprised that she dropped her box and lost her footing. Luckily, she caught herself before she fell over. Unfortunately, she could not save her box. The cardboard object hit the ground with a loud thump, causing her to flinch. Her gazed slowly moved from her box to the person who bumped into her. The young man seemed embarrassed, so she did not want to make a big deal out of the incident.
“No it’s fine. Really” Lena said as she smiled at the individual. She quickly grabbed hold of her box and peeked inside. It would be a shame if she were to break her duel disk and bracelet on the first day. Nothing seemed to have fallen off, so maybe it was okay for now. Once she found her dorm, she would check it over then. Hearing the guy speak to her, Lena looked at him as she held her box. Another small smile appeared on her face.
“I actually don’t know myself. I’m new here as well. I just started walking in this direction” she said politely.
“I’m Lena and congratulations on making it to RA. Maybe we should ask someone else, or go on a journey. The island is beautiful” Lena started to trail off again.

Pino walked around with a bunch of more Ra students following him and talking to him. He had already made so many friends and alot of girls already seemed to like him, so with almost the whole Ra Yellow dorm behind him they walked around the island getting to know each other better. Pino had heard a duel was going on between two Slifer Slacker's and that's what he was looking for. Eventually he found the holograms of two monsters attacking each other and he knew he had found the duel.
Becuase of Pino he had now had alot of Ra's watching the duel. He had provided the duel with an audience and Pino was watching the duel just to see who wins. Most of the girls struggled to get a seat next to Pino, but he didn't mind them he was too focused on the duel.

Jason looked down at the girl called Lena. She was taller than your average girl, or maybe she was at the average height, Jason wasn't sure about it, but what he was sure about was he liked it. It made him not feel as towering standing at 6'1". Lena was very nice and wasn't mad at all that he had run into her. After hearing her suggestion, Jason was glad he had ran into her. He noticed she was looking at into the box she dropped. "I hope I didn't break any of your stuff, and I guess congrats yourself on making into Ra." he said with a nervous smile. She suggested asking for help, or a journey around the island. "Definitely beautiful." he said looking at her. He then got red in the face. "I mean The island is beautiful! In case you thought I was talking about you, not that your not beautiful, which you are! But, what I meant to say was......." Jason calmed himself down and began to speak again. "I would love to go on a journey with you around the island." He said to her with a calm smile and then they were off.
They were walking for about 3 minutes when Jason decided to speak up. "Hey, next time I start rambling like that, just throw me a sock. I would like my foot protected the next time i decide to shove it into my mouth." Jason said with a smile. He looked ahead and noticed they were along a cliff side and looked down at the beach and the waves crashing against the rock. "This island really is beautiful. It's nice to just get out once and awhile an just admire the tranquility and harmony of nature. I sort of forgot the reason we were walking around, though I think I found a better one." He said with his eyes closed and a smile. "So, what was your reason for joining duel academy? Besides the obvious one, that you want to learn to be a better duelist, but that is a means, not an end." He said in a calm tone. "What is your end, Lena?"

Twin head comes back from the grave with 1000 ATK and DEf points. Hanataro draws his card [5+1] and says "I place one card face down and activate swords of revaling light. Now you can't attack me for three turns. I then summon Mirage Dragon in attack mode. And that will end my turn" Hanataro starts to think to him self "Next turn I'll be able to summon one of my most powerful monsters in my deck. His card right now might have 2300 attack points, but my red eyes can mach that."

Lena looked at the box in her arm and shook it a little. She just wanted to show him that there was no harm done. If anything, Lena could talk to an administrator. It shouldn’t be too much trouble to exchange the devices.
Hearing Josh speak, Lena smiled. He’s right, the island is beautiful. Her blue eyes lazily gazed at the academy. A peaceful expression appeared on her face again and she slowly started to drift into her own thoughts. Clear blue skies, beautiful flowers, the whole nine yards. However, someone pulled her out of her thoughts.
"I mean the island is beautiful! In case you thought I was talking about you, not that you’re not beautiful, which you are! But, what I meant to say was…” he said quickly. Staring at Jason, Lena had a puzzled look on her face. What in the world was this guy talking about? ‘Of course the island is beautiful’ she thought. ‘Then why is he talking about me….’ It didn’t hit here until later. A huge grin stretched out across her face. Then she laughed a really hardy laugh. She couldn’t even respond to his next statement. Lena just chose to walk ahead. The pair started on their ‘journey’ without a word. That was probably her fault, because every so often she would let out a giggle. Luckily, Jason started to speak. This caused Lena to become silent. His question did not surprise her. In fact, she wanted to answer it.
“I’m on a quest” Lena said with a straight face. Ever since she was little, whenever she would go in search for anything she would call it a ‘quest’. One could guess that she was a sucker for hero stories.
“I want to find out what’s works for me. I like dueling and I feel like being here would help me discover something. You know?” Lena shrugged as if what she said wasn’t really important. Wasn’t it normal for people to go on soul searches? Just as she finished her statement, Lena turned towards something interesting. Yellow jackets plus groups of students had to equal to them walking to the dorms. At least it did in her mind. Gesturing towards the group, Lena looked at Jason for reassurance.
“Do you think they would know? I mean there is a group of them. I think we should follow." The words seemed to blend together.

Tyler smiled enoying the duel he knew he could attack but he didn't "I draw" (4 card in hand) "then I'll set another card face down and that ends my turn" Tyler said as a face down card appeared on his side of the field. Tyler then stared at his hand trying to come up wth some sort of plan to win.

"Myy turn then, draw." Hanataro draws his card [3+1] and says "I'll place two cards face down [3 Face downs total] and sacerfice my two monsters to summon Red-eyes Black Dragon!" The two dragons fanish and a fire shows up on the field. Comes rising from the fire is a big black dragon with it's eyes as red as blood and it's scales as black as night. The Dragon roars when apearing, even as a hologram still scary for the weak hearted.

Tyler drew another card "I activate upstart goblin you gain 1000 life points and I get to draw another cards (5 cards in hand) then I set the card i drew face down and finally your gonna lose the life points that you just gained with my magic card tremendous fire I lose 500 life points (3900-> 3400) while you lose a thousandnds my turn is over" Tyler said
