David pretended to search himself, then looked up and raised his hands in self defeat, "No bus pass", he put his hands in his pockets after waving, "Win me something on the claw game"

Eve took a quick bite of her sandwich before ruffling through the papers, trying to find the audition paper. Once she did, she held it up to him, smiling. "Yup," She replied. "There'd really be no point in coming here if I didn't, of course." Silently, she looked over the lines on the papers, and then at the short song on the last page; that would be the hardest part. Immediately, her cheeks flushed red. "Let's... just work on the lines..." She insisted in her embarrassment. "I... don't think that you would want to hear me sing." She giggled, nervously. He would probably rip his eardrums out if he heard that.

He smiled, "Sorta, its like doing something he wouldny EXPECT you to do, for instance, do you think he expected you to become my friend? Or try out for this play, it puts him off his game, thats why he keeps getting angry, your not doing what he thinks your going to do", he slumped down a bit in his seat, she was in the one right beside him.

Kaine was horrified to hear about her father, but he was glad that she chose to confide in him. As she explained, he took another bite of his sandwich, trying to wrap his head around this. "Why do you put up with it?" He asked. "I mean, I know he's your father, but you deserve to be treated better than that. Call Child Protection Services or do SOMETHING. You haven't even told anybody?" He shook his head, sadly. "Look, Tansie... He has no right to beat you like that, no matter what his reasonings are. You're a girl... so what? He can't change that..." For a moment he thought, but then he came up with an idea. "If you want, I could take care of him for you..." He said. "I could do something when I come to pick you up, tonight. He may be able to beat you, but I'm a healthy, young guy. I could probably take him if you'd let me, and he'd have no idea that I spoke to you about it, first. I could say that I heard the screaming while passing your house and saw the bruises that keep showing up on your arms. Well?"
(I told you. I suck at this. XD I thought that might be what you mentioned earlier... lol. Well it's not TOTALLY lost, I guess? ^^")

David threw some snow and caught her in the back, then ran after her, "Not suppost to run in the halls!" a kid yelled, he laughed at him as he went bye, "Whoops", he caught up with Al and grabbed her arm, "You said to catch you, so here I am".
Jake looked down, "What do you mean by either?", he laughed as he glared down at the sparkley clean floors, he wondered what she was thinking, if he had put her spirits down by mentioning Kaine.

Eve blushed and look down at her hands. "W-Well, he knows that I'm too nervous to get close to anybody but him. Too... shy." Nervously, she reached over and grabbed his hand, gently. "Maybe... he was wrong?" Her voice was a whisper, now, and she looked up at Jake with a small smile.
Kaine shook his head. This was wrong, all wrong... but Tansie wasn't going to let him do anything about it. "You're letting him manipulate you!" He said. "That's why he threatened you. If your too afraid of trying, then he;ll never get in trouble for it! He'll keep getting what he wants!" Kaine seemed upset about all of this, but he knew that there was nothing he could do. "I... I don't want you to get hurt, but still... I hate people like that." He shook his head, leaning back in his chair. "Well, if you ever need a place to run away to, I can give you my address?" Suddenly, he smirked. "Or even Eve's address," He snickered. "She's always willing to help somebody."

Jake looked at their hands, "I dont know, thats something for you to decide Eve, your not a puppet on strings, no one should make the decisions for you", her hand felt warm, it was actually surprising, this was one of the first times he grabbed his hand, and not the other way around, but it was a start, and that was always good.

(No making fun of me. I tried my best. DX)
Kaine looked at her as she told him it was better to tell someone about it, but he just buried his face in his arms. "I guess..." He murmured. When she agreed not to lose it, he just nodded, but him laying his head on the table seemed to make her worry. "No," He replied. "I'm fine. Just thinking about things." He sighed and looked up at her. "It... probably WOULD help to talk to somebody, and you DID tell me about something that's hard for you... And I WANT to tell you... but I'm afraid that I'm going to break down if I do, and I can't have that at school."

Jake opened his eyes after she pulled back, he smiled slightly, but his face was hot, "That is something, very unpredicted...", he had been taken by surprise, but it had been a good feeling, no, a great one, she really must've taken what he had said to heart, because not even he had seen that coming, he looked down at the script, "We should a... do some practicing for the play", he tried to make it sound like an idea, just something they could do, he didnt want her to think he hadn't liked that, but his face would probably give away his emotions.

Once Eve had pulled back, her face flushed bright red and she looked away from him, nervously. "U-Umm... Y-Yeah..." She murmured, fiddling with her papers to try and distract herself. Was he upset? She chanced letting herself glance back up at him. He seemed... quite pleased, actually. She allowed herself to relax, a little, looking down at the papers. "G-Good... Good idea..." She agreed, flipping back to the first page. However, her mind was in complete shambles, right now, so much so that she could barely read the lines, much less try to perform them. The redness never left her face as she read through the lines one more time. How could she apologize for something like this? Did she even need to apologize? Jake didn't even seem to mind it... but did he think that she did it JUST to be unpredictable? She wouldn't do that... But how could she tell him how she felt? Not in the mood to eat anymore, she stood up and looked at the lines, her heart pounding heavily in her chest.

Al starts to say somethign but it interrupted by the loud ringing of the bell above her head. She shrugs and gives David a lopsided grin. "Guess it's time for our next class. I have study hour... Whatever that is exactly. Care to walk me to class?" she asks David with a wink, playfully hooking her arm through his.

Jake heard the bell ring in the hall, then in the classroom, "Uh, I guess we should get ready for class, I've got Math, what about you?", he handed her the script and smiled.
(I had nothing to go on :O)

When the bell rang, Eve turned pale white. I didn't get ANY rehearsing done... She thought, helplessly. However, when Jake suggested that they go, Eve nodded and threw away the rest of her lunch before going back over to Jake and taking the script that he handed her. "M... M-Me, too..." She whispered, not sure if that was a good or bad thing, right now. Before they left, though, Eve grabbed Jake's arm, mustering up the courage to set things straight. "I... I really do like you, Jake..." She murmured, quietly. "A-And I want you to know that... I didn't do that just to be unpredictable. I-I really... I really like you, and... I-I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable, at all!" Blushing bright red, she turned and ran off. "S-See you in class!" She called back to him, too embarrassed to stay with him, right now.

Al quirks an eyebrow up at Dave. "You draw?" she asks teasingly. "I didn't think jocks drew." She laughs and walks down the hall to class when she notices Kaine heading the same way and groans inwardly. She slows and lets Dave catch up, hooking her arm through his. "Cmon slow poke. We're gonna be late to class 'cause of you." She laughs again and the eyes of several people around them, both Everwood and St. Joseph's, grow huge s they walk by. Al leans in and mutters to Dave, "You'd think they've never seena dn everwood and St. Joseph's kid hanging out together. I mean cmon, what about Tansie and jake? Shouldn't they be used to this by now?" She gives him a wry grin as they walk into the class room together. "So, wanna hang out after school today?" she asks him, sitting down on top ofthe first table they get to, brushing her bangs out of her face lightly.
(Better?)
