'Most of us have known each other our entire lives. I mean its like you spend years with the same people then suddenly it's like its all gone. Suddenly you don't see your best friend everyday. Suddenly everybody is drifting away. It seems the only thing keeping us together is half hearted promises to keep in touch. I don't want that for us. That's why we planned this trip. So even if we all drift apart and don't see each other again until we're thirty and miserable, we'll still have that last summer. Ya know?"

A group of friends decide to spend their last two weeks of summer together at the Jersey Shore. A last "hooray" if you will. Secrets will be told, hearts will be broken, and teas will be shed. But at the end of this summer they'll leave knowing they did all the things they were too scared to do in high school. They'll know they told their crush how they felt. they'll know they told that frenemy off. They'll know that they can leave the past behind and move on with their new lives.

The group all comes from different backgrounds and have different futures. Some are going to college, some are not, and some have no idea. Some are pretty well off and some come from the rough side of town. But the one thing they all have in common is that they've known eachother at least since freshman year, though some have known each other much longer. They know each other's secrets and insecurities. They know family drama and bad mistakes. Their not all best friends but are in the same social circles.

*Please note: These are not like the kids of Jersey Shore (I mean if you want your character to be then fine), don't turn this into that. The previous paragraph was important so you know that theres no need for awkward introductions. They all know each other. Yes one or two kids can have money but they aren't like socialite rich or anything like that. *

✯ Again these are not the kids from Jersey Shore (the show) unless you want your character to be
✯ Don't god-mod
✯ Don't be mean (or snarky, or a know it all, or just a jerk)
✯No VS models, PLL's, Selena Gomez's, Nina Dobrev's or any other over used fcs
✯If I'm not online when you make your reservation, as long as it hasn't already been reserved I have no issue with you starting your CS
✯I must be able to find gifs of whoever you reserve
✯ No Mary-Sue or Gary-sue
✯ Make your characters in depth
✯ I love a mean girl, really I do. I think anyone willing to play the villain is great. What I don't want is three mean girls or people re-creating them (A.K.A the ditz, the regina, and the spoiled brat)
✯ This isn't ALL about romance, interact with the other characters
✯ I want no more than eight friends because then people start dropping the rp because they are overwhelmed
✯ I'm not a first time GM. I am new to the site but not new to this so don't try to walk all over me
✯ If I feel like your not dedicated or you keep stalling on the CS I will remove you or request that you give up your character
✯ I understand we all have those days but try to have 300+ words in your posts
✯ This is what I like to call a liberal rp which means there's really no set plan. It's pretty open.
✯ I'm not going to make a Character Relations post unless you guys agree that you want one.

Khloe bit her lip as Ellie mentioned Rylee. "I'll get over it." She said but whispered "It makes me feel better knowing they never did anything. Ry said they never even kissed."before lifting her head up. The truth was she wasn't over him. He was her first love and she deserved at least a month to recoup. She glanced at him, before sipping her drink. Did Rylee have any feelings for her? Was she just a little sister to him too?

"I saw you with that guy before. Did you have a good time with him? Ellie said breaking her thoughts. Which was actually a good thing because it was getting pretty intense in that pretty little head of hers. "You should dance with him" She said but followed that with a self deprecating comment. "You are a beautiful little spazz" She said pointing the rim of her cup at her "And you look so hot that Gatsby would choose you over Daisy" She said with a smug grin. The Great Gatsby had become a recent favorite of hers. She loved the wildness and passion of the 20's. She craved some passion in her life. It would be a welcome change from drama and adorable antics.

She tilted her head forward, deepening the puddle of hair, scented with Moroccan Orchid and pink amber. A welcome feisty change from her usual brown sugar scent. "And I happen to know that James is the most spazztastic dancer in the group, because he was my date to homecoming" She nudged James in the rib lightly. "So don't feel bad" She glanced at Davey "By the way how did you two ever happen." She reapplied some lip gloss before saying "I mean I adore him, but I could never date him. I mean he and Lacey are adorbz because they're so artistic and ambitious but dear god!" She said dramatically.

"I can get you virtually anything," said the pretty, young waitress. "You are in the VIP section." Rylee knew she was flirting with him. He could usually tell when any girl was doing it. The way the waitress, or Chelsea, which is what her name tag read, smiled at him, and batted her eyelashes, it's like she was FORCING him to hook up with her. She ran her hand across his. He thought this was against the rules of the club staff, but guess not.

"Just give me the most extravagant alcoholic beverage you can find," Rylee responded. She walked away with her short miniskirt, hips swinging. He turned to James, who was sitting between him and Ellie. "God, that waitress is desperate." He laughed and pulled out his phone. He scrolled through Instagram and Twitter. He hadn't really planned on dancing or hooking up with anyone. He just wanted to get drunk, go home, and sleep till noon. Sammie was already dancing with Steve, so that wasn't going to happen. God, she moved on fast. It's a good thing Rylee does, too.

He turned to listen in on Ellie and Khloe's conversation. Eavesdropping is his specialty. Rylee has the ears of a bat. Ellie said, "And I happen to know that James is the most spazztastic dancer in the group, because he was my date to homecoming."

"James is a great dancer. If 'great' means 'horrible.' You can't dance to save your life, my friend," Rylee added. He couldn't really talk though, because he wasn't the greatest dancer, either. Chelsea came back, with what she called an Irish Rootbeer, which was really just coffee liqueur, almond liqueur, Bacardi, and Guinness. Whatever it was, it was fabulous. Fifteen minutes later, it was gone, and five minutes after that, so was a beer. You could call him drunk, at that point. He stood up, wobbling a bit. "I'm gonna go run to the little boys' room, and when I get back, if anyone wants to dance, just say so." He looked at Khloe as he said that.

To get into the bathroom, you had to walk through about twenty feet of potheads. A tall man with a deep voice and long beard offered him a hit. "Of course, kind sir," Rylee said. He took a drag, and it sure felt good. He'd only smoked weed twice before. He'd never really enjoyed it, or wanted more. He pissed then went back to their section. "Anyone wanna dance? he asked, arms outspread.

"It makes me feel better knowing they never did anything. Ry said they never even kissed."

When Khloe said that, Ellie's heart fell into her stomach. She then remembered what she had promised Sammie a few hours ago. Then again, was it wrong not to tell Khloe? Ellie Wicks genuinely believed that she was a bad person. Was she becoming even more of a bitch by hiding the truth from Khloe? Then again, Khloe said she was happy. She didn't want to destroy that. Ellie knew that ignorance was bliss, and she didn't want to rain on her friend's parade, which would possibly cause another argument, leading to more silence...

"You are a beautiful little spazz" Khloe said, pointing the rim of her cup at Ellie's face. She stared at it wide-eyed. "And you look so hot that Gatsby would choose you over Daisy"
"Why thank you, Old Sport." she replied in her best Leonardo Dicaprio impression. She was smiling now. It was the widest smile she had made all day. She could smell the scent in Khloe's hair, which made her nose tingle in delight.

"And I happen to know that James is the most spazztastic dancer in the group, because he was my date to homecoming" Ellie laughed louder than usual. "No way! Really?" she said, looking at James with a surprised expression. "I didn't know that you two went to homecoming together! You have to tell me some embarrassing stories later...if you have any."

Khloe then glanced over at Davey, and she did the same. "By the way how did you two ever happen." she asked, "I mean I adore him, but I could never date him. I mean he and Lacey are adorbz because they're so artistic and ambitious but dear god!"

Ellie sighed - not out of annoyance, but as though she were preparing to get something off of her chest. "Dear god, indeed. First thing you she know about Davey: he's an idiot. We dated in eighth grade, before either of us met you guys..." She fiddled with her flower crown, "We sat next to each other in English class and he always helped me a lot with the stuff I didn't understand...He was really shy, so I took the initiative and asked him out. We dated for...three months, maybe two...?" She looked over at the dance floor again, somewhat nervously. "And then all of a sudden, he started to break out of his shell. Which was a good thing at first, until he became really arrogant and stupid...and then we both fought a lot, so he proposed the idea of breaking up. And I happily agreed."

She put the flower crown back on her head, bringing the story to its conclusion. She didn't mention the part where Davey started to gain self confidence once he met Khloe and the gang. Nor did she mention the part where she decided to join the group partly because she found out Davey was in it.

She watched Sammie and Steve dance for a while, and then turned back to Khloe. "So, that's the story of Davey Jones for ya." She stared back at Khloe with a smirk. Maybe she'd ask her about her encounters with Maxwell.

"Anyone wanna dance?" Rylee then asked. Once again, Ellie looked out into the crowd. She knotted her fingers together, and bit her lip in anxiousness. "I guess...I guess I'll go if you go..." she muttered to Khloe.

Steve Coltman

Steve stopped listening to the words of the songs, what they said made no difference to him. All he cared about was not making a complete jackass out of himself while dancing. He tried to keep all of his attention on Sammie, but as they danced he kept getting glimpses of Vanessa. Her smile had left her face and now a scowl was in its place. Somehow he got the impression that it was a bad thing to make Vanessa jealous. He focused himself on Sammie, who had started to hold his hand tighter.

"Steve...Tell...Something?" Steve tried to make out what Sammie had said, but he didn't have a clue. As the song progressed he noticed that they were getting closer and closer. He thought it was because the crowd was growing, but after a quick sweep of the dance floor disproved that theory. He smiled at Sammie when she threw her hands up in the air and yelled. When Sammie spoke, he caught every word.

He nodded his head and motioned to get off the dance floor so they can talk. He grabbed her hand so they wouldn't be separated in the mess that was called the dance floor. As he led Sammie he didn't have to look at Vanessa to know that she was staring at him. When they got somewhere the music wasn't deafening, Steve looked around and found out you couldn't see the VIP are from here. "You might have something to tell me, but I got something to give you." His eyes were no longer looking into hers, they were staring at her lips. He wanted her more than any of his flings in school put together. He grabbed her shoulders and kissed her right on the lips. He had felt something he hadn't felt with the others, a spark.

He pulled away and hoped to God he had made the right move. He didn't want to mess things up with Sammie, but kissing her had been on his mind since they started dancing and there was no better time than the present to deal with his feelings.

Sammie nodded as Steve took them off the dance floor. She felt Vanessa's stare on Steve, and swallowed, knowing there was going to be hell to pay. When they got to the area where VIP couldn't see, she let out a breath. "Steve, I just wanted to tell you that-" Sammie suddenly gasped for air feeling his tender lips on hers. They were so soft..

He looked into her eyes searching, as if he'd was hoping he did the right thing. Sammie suddenly had so many emotions built up inside of her. Jealousy, depression, hate, but now... They all went away, and all she could feel was happy. "Steve!" She exclaimed happily, and wrapped her arms around his neck, kissing him back, softly and sweet. A feeling had swept over her whole self, making her knees weak, and she had to focus on standing so she wouldn't ruin the kiss for the both of them, by toppling over on Steve.

There was one thing though... Steve smelled strong of drugs. She tried to focus on him, but felt a little woozy, and pushed the feeling back. Would he quit drugs, or would they be the classic "Druggie & Singer" couple? She tried not to focus too much on that, though. And went to something else. Sammie could feel the eyes of Vanessa penetrating through her head. Sammie honestly couldn't care less about the big headed blonde. She wants to fight? Bring it, bitch.

She pulled away from Steve slowly, and opened her eyes, which were now bright, and full of life. "Steve... I like you too.." She whispered, and kept her hands around his neck. She looked in his eyes, for some type of confirmation to these feelings they both apparently felt. Sammie had felt a powerful spark when she kissed Steve, and longed to fuel that flame, and make their crushes grow into something more. Maybe she and Steve could even be married and have kids together one day...

Sammie shook her head quickly, getting the thought out of her head, thinking. "That's crazy, I just found out he actually liked me." She waited patiently for an answer from him, and looked down at her feet, the studs on her black heels shining in the neon lights coming from the dance floor.

(Sorry for the curse word, just thought it made her point clearer.)

Which was a good thing at first, until he became really arrogant and stupid...and then we both fought a lot, so he proposed the idea of breaking up. And I happily agreed.

Khloe blanched, "Well now I see why you keep him at a distance." She said with a slight chuckle. She wanted ti elaborate but Rylee came into view, thoroughly distracting her. That is until she noticed the sway. Ah yes the drunk Rylee sway that always landed him in some girls arms.

Khloe shook her head when a drunk Riley approached the group. She glanced at his eyes, which were sporting a little red tint. "Anyone wanna dance?" He said stretching his long toned arms. She was about to ignore him when Ellie said "I guess...I guess I'll go if you go..." She bit her lip, hesitant before saying "Jamie has to go too!" And dragging him by his shirt onto the dance floor with them.

At first as they approached the dance floor she danced with Ellie. The song was cute and poppy so they could just bounce with the crowd. But then a sensual song came on. At first she simply swayed to the beat but as she got engulfed in the music she became more attuned and more engulfed. Transformed. Her hips rolled with the beat he hands swayed her long hair moved down her stomach with her. Even her earrings seemed to dance. She glowed with confidence. Then she felt a hand around her hips and a hard abdomen against her butt. "Off" She said trying to get to Ellie butt he seemed to almost be... pulling her away. She glanced round in panic before herr instincts kicked in. She pushed him then yelled in her panicking baby voice Rylee! Help me!" She started to get away from him but he just hissed "You little bitch" and knocked her down. The crowd seemed to go on. Some people even looked at her. She wasn't used to this. Somebody always protected her, she never had to defend herself. She felt like the epitome of the damsel in distress except her knight wasn't coming to save her. And that thought alone killed her.

{β€œYou've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like there's nobody listening, and live like it's heaven on earth.” ― William W. Purkey }
Her Outfit

Lacey, of course took the most time getting ready. But, seeing that she had straightened her hair for the first time in a year, the time was mostly spent on taming her curls. And, she wanted to waste as much time as possible in order to see which car Davey was getting in so she could get in the other available car. But, even with that it didn't stop the others from making them sit right next to each other.

Lacey was on her third drink as she looked out of the corner of her eye to see three waitresses flirting with Davey. She did her absolute best to not look jealous but, she couldn't help it. It was bothering her. Khloe was talking with Rylee, James, and Ellie about dancing or something while Lacey stayed to herself. She was still embarrassed about what had happened with her and Davey earlier on the beach and wanted to avoid talking about it or to him as long as she could. But, it didn't stop her from eavesdropping on his conversation with the three attractive girls. "You must be like, really good at talking to people!"

"I must be, considering the fact that you three ladies are still hanging around..." Lacey just scoffed as she took the last sip of her margarita. "Unbelievable." She rolled her eyes as she turned to her phone and started looking through her social networking sites. It wasn't until she heard someone saying 'hey' to her that she turned to look towards the voice. The annoyance rushed off of her face as she looked towards Davey who was looking at her with a charming smile on his face. "So I didn't waste my time getting us into this prestigious club just to sit around and do nothing you know."

She chuckled nervously as she shook her head and looked towards her lace boots. She cleared her throat. "Why don't you ask one of your little girlfriends, the ones you just sent away." She asked with a raised eyebrow as she crossed her arms over her chest. She really didn't want to dance with him, she had already made herself look like a big idiot in front of him for the day and it was too earlier to do it again.

But, the longer she looked at him and in his eyes she couldn't resist. She grabbed his hand before scoffing softly. "Fine" She stood up from her seat and pulled her black dress down a bit as she looked down at him. "I owe you for getting us in here anyway."

"Jamie has to go too!" Khloe cried ecstatically. Ellie laughed while she literally dragged him by his shirt onto the dance floor. She wondered whether or not James really was the spazztastic dancer her friend had claimed him to be.

She entered the crowd not knowing what to expect. There were people all around her, jumping, screaming, laughing...it was a little claustrophobic. She took deep breaths, and just kept her eyes on Khloe, not focusing on anyone else. Her friend bounced up and down to the beat. Observing her, Ellie did the same. All of a sudden, she could feel something like the weight of the world slowly being lifted up off of her shoulders. She felt free. She felt invincible. A sensual song came on, and she twirled; her dress catching the light and sparkling like a dazzling diamond. The way she smiled, she was a diamond. She hadn't laughed and lip-synched like this in years. And now she felt like her body weighed nothing at all - like she was peacefully arising out of a stormy sea. She smiled at Rylee, and then at James. James...why was she thinking about James so much all of a sudden? Why was she staring at him like he was someone she cared about? Was he someone she cared about?

Whatever he was, she grabbed his hands, and let him twirl her around. It was something she used to do whenever she liked a guy during a dance in high school. She did the same with Rylee, and then turned to Khloe. That's when her heart stopped.

"Rylee! Help me!" she cried in a panicky voice. There was a guy harassing her. "You little bitch," he hissed, knocking her down to the ground. Ellie stopped breathing. She could feel her heart beating like a drum inside of her stomach. And in that moment, the dance floor had turned into a dark, cold room.

"You little bitch," said the middle-aged man, knocking Beatrice down to her feet, which were covered in dried blood and blisters. "Please stop, Travis..." she cried. She was out of breath. Her wheat blonde hair looked white now, and her tiny little hands were shaking. Ellie couldn't tell if it was from the cold, or out of fear. The latter had always seemed unlikely, but now it looked as though reality were burning down all of the hope Beatrice had promised the girls locked in the cabin. "I told you to stay put," he shouted psychotically, "but you don't want to listen, do you? Well, I'll teach you how to fucking stay put..for good!" He pulled out a knife. Beatrice screamed, and Ellie ran forward.

"NO!!!"

Ellie blacked out for a split second. When she could see everything again, she looked down towards Khloe, who was still on the floor. She heard a couple of male voices chuckle, while others gasped, or chanted "oooooooh" like someone had gotten hurt. Ellie gasped, noticing that the man's nose was now bleeding - the blood all over his cheeks and mouth. She then slowly looked down at her knuckles, which were starting to hurt, and realized that they too were covered in blood.

She looked at the man again, who was staring back at her with the same wide-eyed expression. She backed away slowly. She couldn't breath. She couldn't think. She knew dancing was a bad idea. Suddenly, she turned and bolted back towards the VIP area, bumping into James and Rylee with enough force to probably knock them over.

"Why am I such a bad person? Why am I such a bad person?..." she kept repeating in her head. Once she had reached the private section, she curled up into the fetal position, and started panting dramatically. She felt like her lungs were completely devoid of oxygen. "Calm down..." she muttered to herself. There were tears in her eyes, but they weren't streaming down her face. "Calm down calm down calm down....Shit. Fuck. Shit...." She was rocking back and forth. Once she realized what was happening and what had happened, she silently started to bawl. Why was PTSD such a bitch?

She opened her mouth in an attempt to scream, but her voice was drained out due to the wailing of the loud music.

"Why don't you ask one of your little girlfriends, the ones you just sent away."
"I was lucky I even got to send them away," he replied with a slight chuckle, "They wouldn't shut up, and they were starting to annoy me, anyway...as I'm sure they were annoying you." He held out his hand again, this time closer to Lacey then before. He could tell that she was contemplating his offer. "Fine," she silently scoffed, "I owe you for getting us in here anyway."

He nodded, gently taking her by the hand, and leading her away from the VIP section. He caught Steve and Sammie embracing each other over in a vacant area, and nudged his head towards their direction so Lacey could see as well. He moved far away from the area where they had been sitting, and stopped once they reached to about the middle of the floor. He danced, not really caring about what he looked like in the eyes of others. He knew he was a good dancer, and thinking about it would only mess him up.

While he moved to the music. He thought about what had happened at the beach. Him and Lacey had come so close to locking lips...and then she moved away. But why? Clearly she had shown she had feelings for him by the way she wrapped her arms and legs around him in the water...It had been driving him crazy all day. He needed to say something, and he needed to know what she thought of him...

"Lacey," he said over the loud music, "Lacey, I need to tell you something. But first, let's get away from all of these people." He gently took her by the hand again, trying to find a vacant area, but of course, there was none. Just then, he hatched an idea. There was a door leading to an outside area that was a part of the club. He had been to the Bamboo before...he knew his way around.

He led her outside. They entered a fenced-in area where a clean, unused pool stood in the middle of the concrete. Neon palm trees shined a hypnotic pink glow, and the music from inside was only slightly audible. He took both of her hands in his, tenderly rubbing his thumbs over her fingers, and began to speak.

"So listen," he said, "I've been thinking a lot about what happened earlier today, at the beach...and I don't know what happened, but I just want to tell you that there's no reason for you to be scared of me." He moved in closer, his eyes darting as if they were saying 'let's try again.' "I know I can be a little bit...impulsive, flirtatious...y'know..." he slightly chuckled, looking down at the ground for a moment, "But when I talk to you, I really do mean everything I say. You're beautiful Lacey..." he said, moving even closer, "And I really, really like you."

He placed one hand on her left cheekbone, and the other around her right hip. "You just..."
Silence.

And when Davey Jones, a master at conversation, couldn't think of anything else to say, he leaned in and planted a kiss on Lacey's lips.

{β€œYou've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like there's nobody listening, and live like it's heaven on earth.” ― William W. Purkey }

Lacey looked at their hands conjoined as they walked through the crowd before smiling softly to herself and looking back up to watch where she was going. She looked back towards the section before looking away just to see Steve and Sammie kissing one another. She sighed in defeat before clearing her throat. "Great, she already has him wrapped around her finger." She said to herself as she continued to walk to the middle of the dancefloor with Davey right in front of her. She tightened her grip on his hand softly before picking a spot and letting go of her hand. She watched him dance for a moment before starting herself. She might not have been the best dancer but, she was good enough to make it look like she knew what she was doing. She tried not to look towards Davey to avoid any awkwardness or to stop herself from babbling once again. Every once and a while she would glance out of the corner of her eye and look at Davey. He seemed like something was bothering him and if it was what she thought it was, she should have just pushed through the crowd to make it back to where the group had been sitting and avoid Davey until she left in two weeks.

"Lacey," She didn't hear him at first, it wasn't until he said it louder that she finally looked towards him with a smile on her face. "Lacey, I need to tell you something. But first, let's get away from all of these people."

She lost her smile once he softly grabbed her hand and turned around. She had no idea what he wanted to talk about. And then it hit her. "Damn it! He going to talk to me about the beach." Lace looked around frantically, hoping he wouldn't find somewhere for them to talk and just say they could talk later once they got back home. At least there she could act as if she had fallen asleep before he could have the chance to talk to her.

And just when it seemed like they could find a place to talk, Davey of course knew of a quiet place where they could talk without anyone else around. She walked outside before him and looked around the pool area. It would have been a beautiful place to be if it wasn't for the overwhelming amount of nerves she had in her. When the door closed softly, she turned back towards Davey with her eyebrows furrowed. When he took a hold of her hands and rubbed them with his thumb. She cleared her throat as she turned her doe eyes to Davey as he started to speak to her. "So listen. I've been thinking a lot about what happened earlier today, at the beach...and I don't know what happened, but I just want to tell you that there's no reason for you to be scared of me."

She looked down at the cement as he spoke and sighed heavily. She wasn't terrified of him, okay she was. But, more than anything she was afraid of him thinking she was an idiot for how she acted around him. And she was afraid if she was to tell him about her feelings and he didn't feel the same way, it would have ruined their friendship and she wasn't brave enough to test it.

When he moved closer to her she knew he face was getting red especially once he looked her right in the eyes. "I know I can be a little bit...impulsive, flirtatious...y'know..."
As he chuckled she just raised her eyebrows as she chuckled a bit too. "But when I talk to you, I really do mean everything I say. You're beautiful Lacey..."

"Davey, stop."

"And I really, really like you." She closed her eyes to stop tears from coming out as he laid one hand against her cheek and the other on her hip. Lacey looked towards him and shook her head as she grabbed the hand that was on her cheek. "Davey, stop talking."

"You just..."

"Davey!" She turned her eyes from the ground to him just as he leaned in to kiss her before she could say anything else. She wanted to move away, she did and at first she was angry. But, the longer they kissed the more she didn't want to get rid of that feeling he gave her. That feeling where it felt like she could just stay frozen like that forever. A feeling where she felt like she was completely red but, for once she didn't care.

After a minute her arms went from her side and her cheek to his jaw to keep him from pulling away. She moved her hands to the back of his neck and in his hair as she leaned down a bit to kiss him, but not before moving his hands to be on her waist. The only she let go was because she was out of breath and losing her balance in her shoes.

When she did pull away, she kept her forehead on his as she looked him in the eyes with a smile on her face. "Wow." She pecked him one last time on his lips before letting go of him and returning back to Earth. She took a step back before straightening out of her dress and clearing her throat softly. She sighed as if she had been working about before returning her eyes back to the man in front of her. She tried not to smile but, the longer she looked at him the more a smile grew on her face. Finally she turned back to her feet as she spoke.

"Well, that was..--that was just..-- Wow. Davey that was amazing," Lace said with her face still red. She really just wanted to kiss him again. "And I really, really like you too and I want to be with you. Then it hit her. She was leaving. What were they suppose to do then? "...But, I'm leaving in two week and..-- and I don't know if we could last in a long distance relationship like that." While she was speaking to him, she was also thinking about it in her head about what they should do. She wasn't like Sammie or Khloe, she didn't like the idea of falling without a safety net. She needed to know what the plan was between them before proceeding; whether they continued down this road of being together or if they stopped now before something bad happened, before one of them got hurt.

She snapped back to reality as she started to speak again and remember that it wasn't really a choice But, I like you, a lot and I don't want to go back to just being friends with you," Lacey knew she was thinking out loud and rambling, but what else was new? She rambled when she was conflicted and she was really conflicted with this. She groaned as she hid her face in her hands. "I'm... confused, and conflicted. I don't know what you want me to do." She groaned softly again. "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

Steve Coltman

As Steve stood there waiting for her to say something, the only thing that kept running through his mind was, I screwed up, It may had only been a few seconds, but they were the longest of his life.

He was more than shocked when she yelled out, and started to kiss him back. He didn't really know how it was going to go with Sammie, but he didn't care. After she had finished kissing him he finally noticed how much he smelled like weed, Damn it, I knew going into the bathroom was a terrible idea. He mentally kicked himself a couple of times. Ah, well. If I didn't then this entire thing would seem planned. Not how I would go about courting women.

"Steve... I like you too..." He smiled at those words as he was about to answer her while she was looking at her feet he saw Lacey and Davey. He felt a pang of jealousy. It wasn't a small pang either, it was enough to make him want to run and kiss her right in front of him. That's just petty and cruel to Sammie. I don't want to hurt her in any way. He thought as he refocused on the beautiful girl latched on his neck.

"Sammie, I..." Steve started to speak only problem was, he didn't exactly know what to say. He was speechless twice in the same day, it was a new record for him. He had finally continued speaking, "I think you are a wonderful person, and Rylee was such an idiot for letting you slip through his fingers." He brought up his right hand and caressed her face. He had never noticed how soft her skin was. "I can't promise you forever... or at least right now I can't, but I can promise you that you won't be bored and I'm sorry for any and all future screw ups, because they're bound to happen and I'm me and I screw up... a lot... and I think I'm starting to babbling. I'm going to shut up now and keep kissing you."

Steve used his right hand to lift Sammie's head and kissed her again. All he wanted to do was forget the world while she was here with him, nothing mattered to him except here and now. Not even the knock out blonde on the other side of bar giving them a look of death mattered. He'd deal with the consequences when they happened and he'd be damned if he let them bother him.

Sammie didn't know what to think of this new romance. Sure, she had feelings for Rylee, but she knew she always would, and what better time than now to forget them? She sighed, and focused back on Steve.

"Sammie, I... I think you are a wonderful person, and Rylee was such an idiot for letting you slip through his fingers. I can't promise you forever... or at least right now I can't, but I can promise you that you won't be bored and I'm sorry for any and all future screw ups, because they're bound to happen and I'm me and I screw up... a lot... and I think I'm starting to babbling. I'm going to shut up now and keep kissing you."

Sammie smiled, and she gasped as she was kissed again. This time, Steve's forced planted them against the wall, and she wasn't sure what happened after that. She interrupted once, to say, "Steve... is it too early to say I love you?" But he just seemed to nod, and continue. She wondered what would happen.

Was this just a one night thing, or a lifetime love?

Thoughts ran through her tiny head. Was he going to ditch her for Vanessa? Was he going to go after Lacey instead? Was she going to let him leave, or was she going to fight for him, like she failed to do with Rylee?

All she knew was that.. Steve made her feel amazing right now, and she was just going to roll with it, and hope in the end, that she wouldn't get too badly burned.

She interrupted again, this time more seriously. "Steve.. do you really want to go down this road?" Her eyes full of fear, and pain. "If we do.. promise me you'll stay.. and not leave.."

Her lungs still felt like they were full of helium, so Ellie decided it was best to go get some fresh air from outside. With shakiness, she arose from the corner, grabbed her stuff, and tried her best not to get knocked over by any drunk party-goers. She took one last look back at Khloe, Rylee, and James, and then bolted out the front door of the club into the night. She'd be doing herself and her friends a favor by leaving; at least they wouldn't be getting kicked out of the Bamboo for her own violent actions.

It was a little chilly outside, but nothing completely unbearable. She walked quickly across the dark brick sidewalk, her heels clacking loudly against the pavement. She swore she could see Davey and Lacey talking through one of the gates just outside the club. She stared at them for a while, and then continued on her way. She made no decisions as to where she was going; she just kept walking straight. Fortunately, her path was illuminated by lamplight, so she wasn't left in complete darkness.

Now she could breathe normally again, so Ellie stopped striding once she reached the outside of a small Irish pub. She didn't go inside - she just sat on a tiny black bench that looked invisible in the black hues of night. She sat and watched the world go by until her lungs were full of air, her eyes were dry of tears, and her mind was free of emotions. With haste, she pulled her hair out of its bun, and slipped her aching feet out of the six-inch heels she had forced herself to wear. Ellie put her flower crown back in her bag, although she was tempted to throw it in the garbage beside her. She stared up at the stars, her brain a little less crowded with thoughts.

Something was gnawing at her, and she knew what it was. Since the beginning of the trip, she had only caused the group pain and dismay. If she had comforted Khloe, maybe her and Sammie wouldn't have drifted apart. If she hadn't seen Sammie and Rylee kiss, maybe they could have been an item. And if she never had come in the first place, she wouldn't have ruined the group's clubbing experience by punching that horny guy in the nose and igniting a flame of trouble. So many things were her fault...

And so Ellie was left with a decision that she painstakingly had to make. She twiddled her thumbs like she was deep in thought, but she really didn't have to think about her choices at all. She just wanted to go home. She had been looking forward to the trip for months, but unlike what her therapist thought, Ellie could not find something or someone that would make her whole again. She would just have to be broken for the rest of her life, causing chaos and heartbreak wherever she tread...

So in that moment, Ellie pulled out her phone, and sent a text to Khloe.

To: Khloe
From: Ellie
I think I'm going to pack up my stuff 2moro and go home. It's for the best. I'm sorry about everything...

She sighed, closed her eyes, and leaned against the bench. In a way, she felt like a dead corpse. She pulled out the notebook hiding in her bag, uncapped a black sharpie marker, and wrote a giant 'YOU SUCK' addressed to herself across one of the pages. She stared at it for many moments, not taking her eyes off of the page.

Funny - just a couple of minutes ago, she had been the happiest girl in the world. And now she was right back where she had started.

"Well, that was..--that was just..-- Wow. Davey that was amazing," said Lacey, her red face giving the impression that she was flabbergasted. He chuckled at her adorableness. "It was, wasn't it? See?...There's no reason to be afraid of me."
"And I really, really like you too and I want to be with you." she continued. Davey was beaming now. However, his happiness wouldn't last for long.

"...But, I'm leaving in two week and..-- and I don't know if we could last in a long distance relationship like that."
And just like that, his smile had turned into a frown. Lacey was right. He thought of something to say. All he could think about was how much of a bitch reality was. "But, I like you, a lot and I don't want to go back to just being friends with you," she said. This gave him at least a little bit of hope. "I'm... confused, and conflicted. I don't know what you want me to do." she said, "Why didn't you tell me sooner?"

He chuckled at her last sentence, but it came out with sad, mirthless undertones. "Well, some things are unpredictable, Lacey. Even I'm scared of telling the truth sometimes. Unlike you, I've never been the greatest at expressing my emotions out loud..." He took her hands in his, "I usually save that for songwriting."

He looked down for a moment, giving a short sigh, and then returning his gaze to hers. "Listen, Lace....I don't want you to do anything. All I want is for you to do whatever you want to do. You've got a bright, bright future ahead of you, and you have every right to pursue it." Every word that he spoke, he meant. Davey believed in freedom to its very core. He believed in freedom for Lacey, even if that meant he wouldn't get to be in the big picture next to her.

"But even though there's this future looming over the both of us, that still doesn't mean we can't live in the here and now." He gently stretched out her fingers in his, and kept opening and closing them. "Good chess players think three or four steps ahead. However, the great ones only need to think one. I believe that if we both want to stay as more than just friends, that's what we need to do. We just need to think only one step ahead, until we both come to the end of our trip." He rubbed his thumb against her cheek again, and intensely locked his gaze with hers. "We're just going to take it one day at a time, and test the waters together, just like we did at the beach. And whatever happens, happens...Okay?" He leaned in closer to her ear, and whispered.
"Whatever happens, happens."

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw a figure walking out of the door. She started breathing fast, as it was Ellie, and she looked to Steve for only a second, then said, "Steve, I am so sorry for ruining this moment, but I'll be right back." The same empty promise it seemed as she'd given Ellie. " I promise!" She yelled over the music as she quickly left the building.

"Ellie, wait!" Sammie ran out the door, and caught up to her lonesome friend. "Where are you going? I was going to ask you to dance with us." She looked sadly at her possible friend, not sure what she felt. "Ellie, I'm sorry. I owe you a huge apology about leaving you. I didn't mean to. I was acting out of my emotions, and they took over that night. I even have to throw away my razor now.." She shrugged, tears threatening her eyes. "Are you alright?"

Image

"You don't have to answer that, I know you aren't."

Sammie looked at her broken acquaintance, and hugged her. Tightly at first, then loosened up as she grabbed her. That was when she saw the note she started on her phone. "Ellie.." Sammie looked Ellie in the eyes, and wiped away her tears with her thumb. "You're not even close to sucking.. if anyone sucks.. it's me. I'm the one going around and starting everything. I just kissed Steve, Ellie. Vanessa is going to be all over me tomorrow. Khloe hates me, and I guess.. I've lost you. " She sighed sadly, and looked down, letting go of Ellie. "Just text me at least?" Sammie scratched the back of her neck nervously.

She didn't know what else to say.. or do.

Ellie's head jerked up from her notebook. She thought she heard a familiar voice nearby, but she didn't know where their voice was coming from. Perhaps she was imagining things. She looked down at her feet, only to be greeted by the distant voice again. She looked up at the silhouette standing over her.

"Sammie?"

For the second time that day, Sammie Tyrant was there to comfort her. "Ellie, I'm sorry," she said, "I owe you a huge apology about leaving you. I didn't mean to. I was acting out of my emotions, and they took over that night. I even have to throw away my razor now.." Ellie locked her jaw a little. Sammie had lost herself, just like she had warned her not to do. She couldn't be mad at her, though. Not only did she have the emotional capacity right now to be angry at her, but she could also relate to her. Ellie had cut herself once. It was only one time, but it was at an extremely sentimental time...It wasn't easy coming back home and having to deal with the two years of high school she had missed.

"Are you alright?" Sammie asked. Ellie just stared at her, debating whether or not to lie again.
"You don't have to answer that, I know you aren't."

Sammie hugged Ellie, sending a wave of tears down her eyes again. She wasn't expecting any of this from Sammie, the girl she had been previously frenemies with. It was kind of amazing and exhilarating. Ellie hugged her extremely tight, as though there were demons surrounding her, and she needed protection. Then once Sammie started to loosen her grip, she slowly followed suit.

"Ellie.."
From the direction Sammie's eyes were looking, Ellie knew that she had seen the giant letters printed in her notebook. She looked down at the ground in shame, and then stared upwards once Sammie started to wipe away her tears with her thumb. "You're not even close to sucking.. if anyone sucks.. it's me. I'm the one going around and starting everything. I just kissed Steve, Ellie."
"Really?" For a moment, her eyes glistened from the light of the stars. She wanted to ask questions, but she knew it was an inappropriate time to do so.
"Vanessa is going to be all over me tomorrow. Khloe hates me, and I guess.. I've lost you."

She stared at Sammie for a moment, and then shook her head. "Sammie, you never lost me. I thought I lost you..." After a few moments of silence, Ellie chuckled through the copious amount of tears that rested on her cheeks. For a second, she thought she was going insane. "Boy, this has been an emotional trip, hasn't it?" she said, "And you don't suck. Not at all. In fact, you might be the sweetest person I know."

She then stared back at the page in her notebook, and closed it. "Sammie..." she started. It was going to come out, all of it..."What would you do if you were depressed, and you're trying to be yourself again..." Ellie felt the inside of her throat go dry. "But you can't," she murmured through tears, "because every time you get one step closer to being happy again, a bad thought...or a tragic memory fills up inside of you and just takes over your whole body. And you just keep telling yourself that you're a bad person, and it's like you're being possessed, and you just can't get away from the monsters around you..." She wiped away the tears from her eyes.

"I keep telling myself that the past is over, but I just feel so alone and so...angry...and full of regret...all the time..." She leaned forward, her shoulders slouched, and her eyes focused on the street. "And then I see...him...and I think about the things that he's done...and the things that I've done...the people I could have saved...and I don't know how to live with it...how to un-see all of it...how do you erase the terrible things that you've done?"

She held her head in her hands, and her eyes widened in fear. "I just socked a guy in the nose at the club...he was harassing Khloe...and she called for help...and it reminded me of a moment...and I had a flashback - PTSD, and I just blacked out, and then all of a sudden, his nose is bleeding and there's blood on my hands..."

She moved hair away from her face, and shakily exhaled. "So I just texted Khloe that I'm leaving tomorrow. Even though I want to stay...I just can't. What if I'm like a bomb, Sammie? What if it's just a matter of time until I hurt all of you, just like I did to that man? What if I'm dangerous? Or maybe...what if I just ruin everything for all of you?" She stared at her for a few seconds, and then placed her hands over her eyes, looking down.

"I'm so lost..."

Sammie shook her head at Ellie's words. "You know what you need? A friend. You need someone who you trust, with anything and that you never think that you'll fight over stupid boys and break apart. " she sighed. "There's no way you can screw anything up, Ellie. I promise. Now, I want to be your friend. Maybe best friend one day. But, I want to be there when you have some panic attack. I can help you. I promise." She smiled, hugging Ellie to her, resting her head on Ellie's as she cries. "We've both when there other is, so let me help you. Alright?" Sammie rubbed Ellie's back, as they hugged. "First of all, I don't care who he is, but he's obviously not good enough for you if he's no begging you to be back in his life. I learned that the hard way." She sighed, and for a brief second thought of Rylee, but then Steve clouded her thoughts and she grinned. "Second, you're perfect just the way you are. We all have our downfalls. For you it would be the PTSD. But you can overcome it. " she smiled at her.

"You know what you need? A friend." said Sammie, "You need someone who you trust, with anything and that you never think that you'll fight over stupid boys and break apart." Ellie silently chuckled, although she wasn't sure whether or not such an action was appropriate.

"There's no way you can screw anything up, Ellie. I promise. Now, I want to be your friend. Maybe best friend one day. But, I want to be there when you have some panic attack. I can help you. I promise." Sammie then smiled beautifully, and hugged her again. Ellie could see that she was crying. She was surprised how direct Sammie was. Sometimes stating things simply was better than sugarcoating everything, and right now, Gabriella Wicks wasn't in the mood to be elaborate. "We've both when there other is, so let me help you. Alright?"

Ellie turned her head to Sammie, smiled, and nodded. "Alright."

"First of all, I don't care who he is, but he's obviously not good enough for you if he's no begging you to be back in his life. I learned that the hard way."
Ellie could feel her throat go dry. Sammie didn't understand. The man who she had been crying over had no life. In fact, Ellie had taken it from him. She did not want him back in her life...in fact, she wanted to forget about him. But would she tell that to Sammie? No. If there was one thing she had learned in the past two years, it was that innocence, something that most people she knew took for granted, was indeed bliss. She didn't tell Sammie not because she disliked her, but on the contrary, she wanted to protect her spirit.

"Second, you're perfect just the way you are. We all have our downfalls. For you it would be the PTSD. But you can overcome it. " She smiled again, and Ellie gave a genuine smile back.
"You know what? You're right. You are absolutely right." she said. She opened up her noteback, turning to the page she had covered in black sharpie marker. She ripped the 'YOU SUCK' in half, and crumpled the paper in her hand, and threw it in the garbage beside her. Ellie then pulled out her phone, sending a new text to Khloe.

To: Khloe
From: Ellie
Disregard that last text. I'm not leaving. Sorry for the trouble.

She then looked at Sammie, contentment sparkling in her eyes. "You're a really good person, y'know that?" she said, "You're amazing Sammie. C'mon, let's go back."

She put her heels back on, and tread the sidewalk like she had done before. Only this time, she walked more slowly and steadily. Something in Ellie's mind had clicked. Jokingly, she put the flower crown from her bag on Sammie's head, and began to think to herself. Had she come to terms with the events that had happened two years ago? Possibly. But the unexplainable happiness bubbling from inside of her came from something else. After living each day feeling mortal and weak, she finally knew that people cared about her. There were people in her life who actually hated to see her hurt. In her past life, she was brainwashed to believe that such a statement wasn't true. And now she felt free from this curse that had binded her, and she knew that if trouble came again, a helping hand would come.

She wasn't alone, and she wouldn't make herself alone anymore. And she made a promise to herself that this moment inbetween childhood and young adulthood, whatever it was, would be a new chapter. Not a moving on, but a fresh start. Like she had done after middle school, Ellie would just have to run away. She'd embrace the change, as well as this last time with her friends.

"You know what? You're right. You are absolutely right." She ripped the 'YOU SUCK' in half, and crumpled the paper in her hand, and threw it in the garbage beside her. "You're a really good person, y'know that?" she said, "You're amazing Sammie. C'mon, let's go back."

Sammie felt warm, and jittery inside of her. Maybe she could be a good person if she really tried. That was the least of her worries though. She had Vanessa to look forward to. She had put her arm around Ellie's shoulders walking with her inside.

"Hold on a minute, Ellie. I want to tell you something. It's something.."

Should she tell Ellie her secret? It's strengthen their trust, but maybe not so soon. It WAS a secret no one else on the group knew. Not even Khloe. Maybe it was a good thing she didn't know. That way, she wouldn't have any awkward encouragement, or disapproval. But, what if no one missed her? She swallowed harder, as of she was pushing all the fear down her throat.

She was glad she could cheer up Ellie at least. Even if she gained a few enemies on this trip, at least she gained a few friends too.

She swallowed, feeling her throat dry. Sammie looked down at her heels for a brief moment before looking back up, and shaking her head. It was like someone had come up to her and told her against her sudden announcement. "N-never mind. It's nothing." Sammie sighed tiredly, and waved her hand, walking behind her.

When they got back in, Sammie surveyed the dance door, then looked for Steve. "So, who were you dancing with before you came out?" Sammie then looked at her new friend with a disheartened look. "Khloe?"

{β€œYou've gotta dance like there's nobody watching, love like you'll never be hurt, sing like there's nobody listening, and live like it's heaven on earth.” ― William W. Purkey }

"Well, some things are unpredictable, Lacey. Even I'm scared of telling the truth sometimes. Unlike you, I've never been the greatest at expressing my emotions out loud..." Lacey chuckled as he held her hands once more. She looked at their fingers intertwined before looking back at him. "I usually save that for songwriting." Lace rolled her eyes with a small smirk on her face. But, she soon lost her smirk when Davey looked down and sighed. When he looked back up at her, her eyes begging him to say something. She wasn't used to this, being in a relationship that she had no idea what to do. She always played the friend who gave the advice to help them through it. "Listen, Lace....I don't want you to do anything. All I want is for you to do whatever you want to do. You've got a bright, bright future ahead of you, and you have every right to pursue it." As Davey spoke to her, she couldn't help but begin to smile. Part of her wondered if he really meant what he was saying while the other half just believed him. Lacey wasn't the type of person who was used to being able to choose whether or not she was able to do something. And, in all honesty? She kind of liked it, even if the choice wasn't a hard one to make.

"But even though there's this future looming over the both of us, that still doesn't mean we can't live in the here and now." Davey said. "Live in the moment?" She could feel her stomach go into knots. Lacey hated 'living in the here and now', it never lead to anything good. At least with Lacey's 'glass half empty' outlook on life most of the time. She needed things to be plan out before hand so there were no surprises and when things did happen to go wrong. Well... She doesn't take it well. "Good chess players think three or four steps ahead. However, the great ones only need to think one. I believe that if we both want to stay as more than just friends, that's what we need to do. We just need to think only one step ahead, until we both come to the end of our trip."

...But, if she was going to be with Davey. She would have to get used to idea of living in the moment even if it was for a brief time. She snapped out of her nervous state of mind as he rubbed her cheek. She smiled shyly as she softly grasped his hand and look towards him just as he was doing with her. "We're just going to take it one day at a time, and test the waters together, just like we did at the beach. And whatever happens, happens...Okay?"

"Okay." She told him as she let their hands fall to their sides. She softly held his hands as she did before just as he moved in closer to her and whispered in her ear as always. "Whatever happens, happens." She chuckled softly as he spoke to her and when he was looking her back in the eyes, she kissed him softly and nodded. "Whatever happens... happens, " She repeated softly as she looked at their hands as she released a nervous breath. "I won't push you away, I won't be afraid of... this or you, and I'll try not too think to far ahead." She assured him before looking back up at him with a smile and a small chuckle as she thought of what to do now. "Sooo, are you going to keep me out here all night or can we head back inside so I can show you off." The young girl said as she smirked with a raised eyebrow towards Davey.
