Matvei smiled ever so slightly as he was so close to finishing his sketch, just one last line. Maybe he should stop drawing for now, in case he got caught. Glancing up, he saw another person come in and he nodded once in greeting to her, staring at the ceiling in silence, his drawing pad just calling his name. He needed to draw more.
So, of course, just as he lowered his head to continue his artwork, he heard his name screamed across the room, an oh-so-familiar voice ringing in his ears. As he was about to look up, Nathan almost jumped the overwhelmed Russian and brought him into an embrace from behind, cheeks flushing over gently when Nathan kissed him in greeting. He still wasn't that used to it, and probably never will get accustomed.
"A-Ah! Hello, Nathan." Matvei said with a nod, previous smile widening. Thank god Nathan and Miu are in his class this year. Both are so kind, not that he would actually ever say that. When the other European boy asked what he was drawing, he puffed out his cheeks in embarrassment and blushed pure scarlet, eyes widening as he grabbed the drawing pad and hid it in his bag quickly, yellow eyes darting to meet Nathan's, then straying off nervously towards his desk.
"Oh, ah, i-it was nothing, comrade." He murmured, looking up when the teacher began to speak. Looking to Nathan, his gaze strayed to the empty desk next to him and he merely pointed. "Sit. Class is beginning." The boy whispered, smiling as the flushed pink lingered on his cheeks. Matvei watched the teacher attentively and focused, like always.
