The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 8 authors
He groaned and got up, going through his morning routine of showering and brushing his teeth, the normal hygiene thing. He dressed in dark denim jeans and a white button-up shirt, untucked. His shoes were his favorite black converse with blue threading. His hair was brushed and his glasses were on. He even had on a black suit jacket. He figured it would make up for his lack of dressing up. He looked in the mirror at himself, feeling his face. He would have to shave soon. His face was slightly gruff. But he wouldn't shave now. He could wait a bit. He kind of liked the way the stubble looked anyways.
A few minutes later, he had his leather messager bag over his shoulder and his keys in his hands, closing his apartment door behind him. He made his way down the stairs (He lived on the third floor) and out to his car. He drove out to the school and parked in his spot. The clock in his car read 6:00. Well, he still had plenty of time. He sighed to himself, getting out of his car and taking his bag and keys with him, closing and locking his car. He couldn;t believe how early he was...
Regardless, he walked into the school and made his way to his classroom, which doubled as his office since the school was so small. He put his bag down and sat in his chair, wondering what he should do. He chose to sit there, just staring off into space. He felt his stomach rumble, and cursed to himself. He had forgotten breakfast. Oh well. He would survive.
From the messy clothes, mussed up hair, baggy eyes, and tense, defensive demeanor, it was obviously very uncharacteristic of Miu to be in such a way. She was normally a tranquil young woman that always took care of her appearance from hair to nails. She never got too school too early or late, always arriving in enough time to get her things and make it to class only seconds before the bell rang for Homeroom. Something was off.
The lone spaceman watched as his people were hoarded into the buildings, the alien scum preparing the humans for brainwashing.
His black hair shifted slightly with the breeze, which carried away his cigarette smoke. The all-famous Lucky Strikes. His hand played with a Zippo lighter, the click-fwick-clink creating a steady beat.
Such was the life of Lieutenant Argamedous Spiff...as an officer of the Intergalactic Police Corps, it was his sacred duty to trace illegal human-trafficing amongst the cosmos and stop it.
As the bell rang, Eros looked to the name of the building, giving a grunt of displeasure. He took one last drag of his cigarette before dropping the butt, quashing it under his foot. He gave a growl as he headed to his first class of the day, of which he took no interest in.
On the planet P5X-666, Spiff had found the homeworld of the nefarious K'nall, a race of sentient beings that took pleasure in the control of planets and their inhabitants. It was here that Spiff had gone undercover, resisting the brainwashing segments to ensure that, someday, these humans would be free of tyranny.
He gave a weary eye to one girl as he entered, muttering, "Mommy's work keep you up all night?" as he passed, only loud enough for her and those surrounding to hear. Miu Phoenix, while herself was with no vendetta with Eros, had been mothered from a whore who had stolen away his fathers from him and his mother. It was predestined that Miu would be the same kind of two-faced cock-sucking bitch--or, at least, so said his twisted and broken moral compass. And, for that, he hated her.
After passing the improperly hated young woman, he took his seat at the back of the class, located near a window. He propped the window open, lighting up a second cigarette, waiting for the final bell to ring and the shithole of a class to start.
Once inside she ran past the lockers "I don't have time to drop books in" she said as she adjusted her backpack on her shoulder. She didn't pay attention to the people still lingering in the hallways, no one thought of rushing on the first day becuase it was that... the first day a teacher wasn't going to reprimand a student on the first day for being late. But Sayuri being the "good student" she was could never fathom the thought of being late at any time.
She finally found her new home room for the year and opened the door, she was grateful that she had made it in before the final bell rang.
"Good morning Mr Walkins" she said with a quiet smile she made a quick glance around the room, she saw to other students in the room. The girl with the vibrant blue hair Miu Phoenix and... Eros Amor. His name went through Sayuri's mind more like a question then a statement, in her whole life she would never expect him to be in class before her. He was the "rebel without a cause" type someone who typically wouldn't be caught dead in class on time. But there he was back in the delinquent section of the room smoking.
The smell of the smoke hit Sayuri's nose like a tone of bricks making her cough slightly, "A...aaa...choo!" a squeaky mouse sneeze erupted from her as she clamped her hand over her mouth and nose. She decided that she should sit before she drew too much attention to herself and sat down in center chair of the center row. She glanced back over at Miu who was sleeping, "Oh my she must have been terribly tired to fall asleep" Sayuri though to herself. She then decided to take the time before the bell rang to pull her hair into pigtails something she typically took the time to do every morning before she went to school. Pulling her hair ties from her backpack she soon had lazily done pigtails up, she sighed wondering who else would be in her class.
Steve walked through the front door of the school, holding it open for a few boys who had been behind her. She was careful to follow the five-second rule. She would hold the door open for anyone who was less then five seconds behind her. Anything more would be considered overly courteous.
After putting her books in her locker, Steve wondered into her homeroom. She muttered a quick hello to Mr. Walkins and looked around the classroom. She didn’t try to hide the smile that spread across her face when she saw Sayuri sitting near the front. Of course, Miu (as well as Eros) was there too, and she was happy to see her (who wouldn’t be happy to see her?), but she was… sleeping from the looks of it. And it was quite frankly
“Hey,” she said, sitting down in the seat next to Sayuri’s, “I’m glad that you’re in my home room this year. It would be awful if there was no one I knew”
The Russian boy fidgeted nervously with his black bag, watching his steps as he approached the school. Today, was yet again, the first day of school. Another year, which always effected Matvei in some way. At least he had Miu and Nathan he could properly speak to; a minor reason though of his nervous aura is because of the fact that Eros will be there, most likely, and obviously Matvei disliked getting picked on.
Extending a pale hand to push open the doors, he walked through and "click-clack" went his boots against the tiled flooring. More or less, Matvei dressed formally, though, not too formal, just generally. Wearing a black sweater vest, the color of his curly hair, over a long-sleeved, white collared shirt, along with black, simple skinny jeans and boots, he looked like a schoolboy.
Trailing down a hall, he nodded to other students to greet them briefly, thoughts running around his head. Once he made it to his classroom door, he wrapped a hand around the knob and inhaled sharply, attempting to calm himself, but unfortunately it was quite futile. Matvei turned it and cracked the door open just a bit to be able to stick his face through to look around, and immediately, he felt himself tense. Shoot! That Eros kid was there.
Pulling the door open all the way, he stepped inside the classroom with another clack and looked to Mr. Walkins, forcing a small smile with plump lips onto his face and nodding in greeting. "Hello, Mr. Walkins." The boy said softly, turning to head to his desk, avoiding eye contact with people. Setting down his bag, he almost had a heart attack of relief: Miu was here, and asleep. Sweet dreams?
Bringing his legs to his chest as he sat in his comfortable seat, he fished out his drawing pad and hid it in his desk as he continued a sketch he had been working on before, a gentle hue of pink rising to his pale cheeks as he chewed on his bottom lip, yellow eyes narrowing as he studied each line and curve, silently wondering when his best friend will arrive, Nathan, of course.
Looking up from his sketching, he saw Steve and Sayuri, watching them for a quick moment before glancing back down to his drawing in which made his blush deepen, continuing the sketch, once again.
"Mom going to school!"
Though she knew her Mom was probably passed out from drinking all last night. She rand down the street taking a right, running a bit more then turned ran to the schools building. Opening the front doors running down the hall she knew she was late and the bell already rang, she stopped at Mr.Walkins door, straighting her outfit and making sure her hair looked good she put the googles on top of her head and opened the door.
Taking a quick look around she noticed Miu....sleeping...what the hell? They saw Sayuri...god is that the same uniform thing she wore last year? Then she saw Stevie and smiled, the girl was always nice toher and she really didn't know why. She then saw Matvei..sketching. But her eyes locked on Eros in the back and grinned. So glad at least one friend of hers is in the class, she looked over to Mr.Walkins and sort of gave him a half asss salute and walked in the middle of the classroom to get to the back and took a seat next to Eros.
"Hey you how was your summer?"
"Here, kitty, kitty!" Nathan kneeled down in an alleyway, calling out to a cute white cat that meowed at him. He held out a fish-shaped cracker, wiggling it just a little bit. The cat sauntered up to it, sniffed it, then delicately took it from his outstretched hand. Nathan smiled, then stood up. Continuing on his way to school, he left the alleyway and walked along the street.
He was almost always late to school, simply because he walked about half a mile every day. It wasn't like the people at the foster home didn't want to drive him or anything; they were usually just too busy getting the younger kids to school that Nathan didn't want to bother them for a ride. That, and he usually got distracted by something on the way, like a cute cat or two. Nathan hummed to himself as he walked, going fast but not rushing himself. He was wearing what he usually wore; a button-up shirt, jeans, and rather fashionable boots.
Nathan finally reached the school, entering the front doors just as the bell rang. Knowing he didn't have time to stop at his locker, he went to go straight to his class.
Wait.....which class was mine again? Stopping in his tracks, Nathan fished around his pockets and his bag for his schedule. Where could it have gone? Oh no! i must have left it at home! Nathan's shoulders sagged as he realized, with shock, that he had no idea where his homeroom was. Wondering what to do, he wandered the halls, but soon stopped to look into the window on one of the classroom doors.
Peeking in, he could see Miu sleeping. How strange... He thought, I wonder if she's okay? Then, he saw Eros and shivered a little on the inside. He didn't really want to go in if he was there....but oh, Serena, Steve, and Sayuri were there too! Yay~ Completely distracted, Nathan pushed the door open just a little to get a better look. He saw the teacher, Mr. Walkins, looking like he was thinking about something. Nathan wanted to go over and greet him, but then he saw him.
Matvei, sitting and sketching. Without a second though, Nathan opened the door, running in.
"MATTY~!" He couldn't help but yell and he practically jumped on Matvei's back, hugging him from behind. "Whatcha drawing?" He asked, giving him a kiss on the cheek in greeting. The fact that he still had no idea if he was actually in his homeroom was completely forgotten.
He smiled and greeted each student as they came in, watching as they started buddying up. Always the same people hanging out in the same groups. He put his feet up on his desk and put his hands behind his head. Maybe there would be some sort of change this year... He could only hope. With his luck, it wouldn't happen. Sebastian looked up as Nathan burst in the door. He looked at his attendance sheet. Yep, he was in this class. He chuckled to himself at the boy and his behavior. He could be quite entertaining.
He looked up at the clock and realized that the bell had already rung. He stood up, letting the other kids socialize for a bit. He walked to Miu's desk and kneeled next to it, gently shaking her shoulder and speaking quietly so no one else could hear. He knew how bad high school could be. He was there just... God, was it 7 years ago? "Miu... Miu, get up." He spoke softly. "Miu, I'm about to start class." He said, then stood, hoping he had woken her up. He then moved to the front of the room and clapped his hands loudly and raised his voice so he could be heard. "Alright guys, time to start settling down a bit. Announcements are gonna be on soon, and then I'm starting class, deal?" He said. "That was a rhetorical question, by the way. You don't have a choice." He smiled brightly at the class, even though he really wanted to fall down and sleep.
Matvei smiled ever so slightly as he was so close to finishing his sketch, just one last line. Maybe he should stop drawing for now, in case he got caught. Glancing up, he saw another person come in and he nodded once in greeting to her, staring at the ceiling in silence, his drawing pad just calling his name. He needed to draw more.
So, of course, just as he lowered his head to continue his artwork, he heard his name screamed across the room, an oh-so-familiar voice ringing in his ears. As he was about to look up, Nathan almost jumped the overwhelmed Russian and brought him into an embrace from behind, cheeks flushing over gently when Nathan kissed him in greeting. He still wasn't that used to it, and probably never will get accustomed.
"A-Ah! Hello, Nathan." Matvei said with a nod, previous smile widening. Thank god Nathan and Miu are in his class this year. Both are so kind, not that he would actually ever say that. When the other European boy asked what he was drawing, he puffed out his cheeks in embarrassment and blushed pure scarlet, eyes widening as he grabbed the drawing pad and hid it in his bag quickly, yellow eyes darting to meet Nathan's, then straying off nervously towards his desk.
"Oh, ah, i-it was nothing, comrade." He murmured, looking up when the teacher began to speak. Looking to Nathan, his gaze strayed to the empty desk next to him and he merely pointed. "Sit. Class is beginning." The boy whispered, smiling as the flushed pink lingered on his cheeks. Matvei watched the teacher attentively and focused, like always.
Miu groaned lightly and lifted her head some, blinking slowly. “I’m sorry – I didn’t mean to fall asleep.” She blushed sheepishly as she sat up and grabbed the bag of McDonald’s food from her desk, briefly recalling what Eros had said to her after he entered – Per usual, she wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of a reaction. Perhaps it fed his insecurities to prod at those that he percieved as weak? She didn’t know and she didn’t care. She looked around, rubbing at her eyes before smiling to Matvei, giving him a light wave. She glanced at Mister Walkins and waited until his back was turned before fishing a sausage and egg McMuffin from the bag of food, tossing it back to the Russian. She looked back into the bag and saw that Mister Walkins hadn’t touched anything – Her bottom lip poked out and quivered in a pout as she removed the bag from her desk and placed it under her seat.
"Alright guys, time to start settling down a bit. Announcements are gonna be on soon, and then I'm starting class, deal? That was a rhetorical question, by the way. You don't have a choice."
She gave a light smile at Mister Walkins’ words, pulling out a notebook. Opening up revealed a number of musical doodles that looked like she was composing something. Sighing sleepily, she leaned her cheek into one hand and used the other to begin more musical notes, humming the melody softly along as she jotted it down. Hopefully this school year would be as good as the last few, if not better.
A sneeze brought him out of his daydream, looking to see the girl Sayuri sit down. On the outside, he seemed to stare at her as she did up her hair, before looking toward the ceiling, ignoring all, as if not caring. In reality, he couldn't get the thought of how cute she looked with those pigtails...
If only she wasn't such a goody-goody...no, that's just wrong. If only I wasn't a bastard by genetics...
As the others entered, he did not look at them, watching the smoke that rose from his lungs expel from his mouth in a ring shape. He did not care for them. They did not care for him. It was a cycle that perhaps brought political harmony to cease, but it worked. It had always worked, and always will. It wasn't until a very familiar sound broke through that he gave any reaction. He looked down to see Serena, the party-hardy girl and Eros' closest thing to a best friend. Not much was exchanged about emotions, for both were very hardened in the subject, but they exchanged just about everything else. Small talk, rumors, jokes, smokes, lights, and even some fun nights.
Eros gave the girl a nod as she sat down, asking him about his summer. "Alright," he stated, taking another drag of his cigarette. As he spoke the rest of his sentence, the smoke rolled from his mouth, seeming to only give clouds of badassery to his very being. "Partied. Met some nice girls, had some good times. Lounged around. You should know this--you were there half the time."
As the teacher stood at the head of the class, saying something about the institution he was in, he inhaled some of the smoke that tried to escape a second time, releasing it in a perfect ring. "It takes a talented mouth to do that." He gave a smirk, being obviously suggestive. "But you already knew that, didn't you? Learned that about me last year."
“Hey,”... “I’m glad that you’re in my home room this year. It would be awful if there was no one I knew”
Sayuri turned as Steve sat down and smiled she had been thinking of a new manga she had just started reading and was hoping she would have time to read it after school. She hadn't noticed Steve's entrance and was kind jolted out of her daydreaming by her voice.
"It's good to see you too, how was your summer?" she asked but stopped when Mr Walkins got in front of the class.
"Alright guys, time to start settling down a bit. Announcements are gonna be on soon, and then I'm starting class, deal?"... "That was a rhetorical question, by the way. You don't have a choice." He smiled brightly at the class, even though he really wanted to fall down and sleep.
She pulled out her notebook in anticipation of taking notes down, then she heard a conversation in the back of the room it was Eros and girl named Serena. What Eros said made her blush slightly and she shook her head trying to think about something else, other then his mouth in places they shouldn't be. Why did he have to be like that she turned for minute and looked back at him. She knew he was obviously very intelligent why did he choose to act as though he was an un-evolved cave man was beyond her. If he didn't make the choice to be such a delinquent she might actually think of him as someone she might make friends with. But he chose to be the "bad boy" so she had always tried to avoid him, if not for his behavior for his tendency to pick on other's that were not as strong as himself. She shook her head and turned her attention back to the teacher trying to forget about Eros and his "talented mouth".
Nathan chuckled a little as he saw Matvei quickly hide whatever he had been drawing.
"Oh, ah, i-it was nothing, comrade."
"I bet it was really cute, Matty!" Nathan started, but then quieted as Mavei's eyes met his own. For a split second, those beautiful yellow eyes paralyzed him in place. However, just as quickly, the moment was over as Matvei's eyes moved on.
"Alright guys, time to start settling down a bit. Announcements are gonna be on soon, and then I'm starting class, deal? That was a rhetorical question, by the way. You don't have a choice."
Smiling happily, Nathan couldn't help but blurt out, "Yay, class~! I'm so happy to be in the same class as you, Matty!" In actuality, he had no idea whether or not this was actually his class, but since Mr. Walkins hadn't said anything to him he decided it must be his class after all.
"Sit. Class is beginning."
The Russian boy's whispered words caused Nathan to look at him, and then to where he pointed. Noting the cute smile and flush on his face, Nathan smiled happily once again and took his seat next to Matvei. That smile made him want to hug the Russian again, but he knew he shouldn't. It was just too cute.
Taking out a piece of paper and a pencil from his bag, he wrote: How was your summer, Matty? Did you have fun~? Then, he passed it over to the Russian.
But anyways, the announcements came on and Sebastian immediately tried to quiet the class. "Guys! Let's chill for a few minutes! Some people need to hear this!" The class mostly quieted down, some kids still talking, but he didn't mind. So long as he could hear the PA system, he was happy. Never knew when they would throw in something he needed to hear. It sucked when he didn't hear that, because then he was behind and he didn't like that.
The announcements droned on for a bit until they were finally over. Sebastian clapped his hands together loudly, getting everyone's attention and hopefully waking some people up a bit. "Alright! Class has begun! Let's get this show on the road." He said with a bright smile on his face. "Get your notebooks out. We're talking about evolution today!" He said. Evolution was always a fun topic for him. He went to the board and wrote the word EVOLUTION big in the center of the board. "Alright, what do we know about evolution already? I don't want to go over things we already know. It's overkill."
Serena then looked up to the Mr.Walkins when he said the announcements where going on "ugh so boring can you give me one of the cigs Eros? I so need one if I am going to get through this class.." she then yawned when Mr.Walkins started to talk about evolution and told them to get out their notebooks, she didnt even bring her school supplies. She sat there and started to think about the next party she was going to.
When the older man took a break to let the announcements be heard, Steve leaned over a bit. "My summer was great, how about yours?" She probably shouldn't have said anything, expecially seeing how enthralled Sayuri seemed in her studies, but a whole summer away from her freinds had been lonely, and Steve just wanted to talk to people. Of course the announcements were boring. They droned on and on about how much it was for parking and what after school activities would be starting up in the first semester. The only one of those Steve was even the slightest interested in was the Future Chefs group... but she knew that she wouldn't join.
When Mr.Walkins started talking about evolution, Steve took out her notebook and wrote in large, loopy letters "Evolution" on the top. She did know quite a bit on the topic, but she wasn't going to say anything. Instead she began doodling (Horrible drawings really) in the margins while other kids rose their hands.
Eros gave a chuckle, inhaling some more tar and nicotine into his body. "Hey, I'm just sayin'..." He was surprised the teacher had not yet forced him to stop--perhaps because he had the window open, which sucked away the smoke before it could collaborate in the ceiling, tipping off the smoke detector in the center of the room. Of course, then again, he could just be waiting until after class to drag Eros' ass to the Police Officer on campus for having tobacco on school grounds. Like Eros cared. He took out the pack of Lucky Strikes as Serena asked for one, hitting the back of the pack, a cigarette jumping out two-thirds the way, a second third-way out beside it. Once she took a cig, he tossed her his lighter. "Here. Smoke away."
He looked up for a moment as the squeak of dry-erase on a board caught his attention for a moment. 'EVOLUTION'. Inhaling the last drag of his cigarette, he put out the butt on his desk, flicking it out the window, before raising his hand, probably much to the shock of the teacher. As he was called out--or, if he wasn't he would just shout it out anyway--he took a second cigarette, holding it in his fingers as he spoke. "Evolution is the excuse used by world leaders, the rich, and elite to pardon themselves for not giving a fuck about the poor, different, and those separate of themselves; further, it gives them executive reason and authority to belittle, enslave, and murder these non-elites."
His tone of voice, as well as his obvious discard of rules as he lit up the second cigarette, let the teacher know that he was not a dumbass; rather, he was a force to be reckoned with. It was a kind of threat, a warning. It was also a test: how would Walkins react?
Soft smile still plastered to his face, he looked to Mr. Walkins and watched as he wrote and asked about evolution, blinking as a note suddenly slid on his desk from his best friend, Nathan. Keeping an open ear to listen to the teacher's words, he gripped his pen and wrote in fancy handwriting.
"I suppose you could say it was okay. My family and I went back to visit some of our relatives in Russia. We went to Epcot in Florida, too. It's really pretty there; a lot of palm trees. My favorite part was swimming. I know I may act a little fanboy-ish in this, but, I just love swimming. It's relaxing to float.
Raising his head for a brief moment, he felt his cheeks flush over in embarrassment. He used a pen. You can't erase pen, unless it's one of those special kinds. Oh, boy. Twirling a piece of his black, curly locks with his free hand, since it was a habit, he only blushed further and soon continued writing.
Anyways, yeah. Oh. I should give you my phone number some time. In the mean time, tell me about your summer, comrade.
~ Matty"
The boy took out his notebook and ripped out a piece of paper, keeping the book on his desk for when he needed to take notes, and slightly frowned at Eros's words about evolution. So blunt and forward! After writing his phone number down, he folded both sheets of paper and leaned over to set it on Nathan's desk, soon moving away and leaning back in his seat as he watched and focused on the teacher.
Another thing. Are Serena and Eros smoking in class?!
And, for only a quick moment, Matvei could feel himself shudder.

Reading Matty's note, Nathan was totally oblivious to the drama happening in the classroom. He wasn't ignoring it on purpose or anything it was just....his trunks. Fell. Off. And Nathan was imagining it. His eyes were closed and he was smiling, his face flushing a deep red. While most would say that that was how Nathan normally looked, it actually wasn't too often that he got caught up in daydreams. Especially ones where certain things were involved.
Finally realizing what he was doing, Nathan shook his head to get the rather inappropriate thoughts out of there. He took out a piece of paper and wrote back:
That sounds like a great summer! I wonder what Russia is like~? Was it really snowy? I love snow! And swimming sounds really scary. All that water...anyway, my summer wasn't as eventful as yours, but it was still pretty fun!
For a moment, Nathan stopped. How was he supposed to write that he spent most of his time looking after some of the younger kids at the orphanage? He wasn't ashamed of it, but he didn't exactly want to make it known that he still lived at the orphanage.
I spent a lot of my summer babysitting. I didn't mind at all; little kids are so cute! They're really fun to watch, because they do the silliest things.
It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't exactly the entire truth either. Regardless, it would have to do. Nathan hated lying to his friend, but he hated burdening him even more. Finishing off his reply note, he wrote:
Matty, I would exchange numbers with you, but....I don't have a phone. I'm going to try to get a job soon though, so I'll save up money to get one. Give your number to me then, okay~? :D
P.S. Lets hang out after school today! And eat lunch together! Won't you~?
Nathan was poor, so he simply didn't have the money for a phone. Almost apologetically, he folded the note and passed it back to Matvei. Finally, he smelled the cigarette smoke. Why was Eros and Serena smoking in class? Oh, classes started, too.... He thought, finally noticed the word 'Evolution' on the board.
Looking back over at Eros and Serena, he wondered if he should say something. However, he decided not to since it seemed like something the teacher should do. Besides, Eros scared him.....
"Evolution is the excuse used by world leaders, the rich, and elite to pardon themselves for not giving a fuck about the poor, different, and those separate of themselves; further, it gives them executive reason and authority to belittle, enslave, and murder these non-elites."...
Sayuri sighed her hope of Eros showing some interest in his studies were dashed as soon as he opened his mouth, but she had to admit he did a good job of trying to sound like he knew what he was talking about.
Sayuri faced the front of the class again and raised her hand, "It was a theory developed by Charles Darwin and Alfred Russel Wallace. Through years of research they determined there was a change in the genetic composition of a population during successive generations. As a result of natural selection acting on the genetic variation among individuals, and resulting in the development of new species it can also be called Phylogeny. But it is a theory that has many critics especially those who are avid believers in Creationism which is a theory holding that matter, the various forms of life, and the world were created by God out of nothing and usually in the way described in the Bible" she said.
"As to what you said for your definition of evolution, I find it quite interesting." He walked to the front of his desk and sat on it, crossing his legs on top of the desk as well. "It is true that this could be a result of human evolution. If our brains weren't so advanced then we wouldn't have the history of slavery, wars... Or would we? We see a type of primal war and leadership even in animals. Do you agree?"
Sebastian then heard that Sayuri had piped up and put in her own two cents. He smiled kindly to her. "Yes, that is the definition I was looking for. Thank you Sayuri. But I believe that Eros' answer was real interesting. Anyone else want to oppose Eros and I? Who wants a debate? We'll take a vote." Sebastian got off his desk and walked back to the board, erasing the word "EVOLUTION" and write two words, far apart. "DEBATE" and "LESSON". He turned back to the class. "Alright, hands up for whoever wants the debate instead of class?"
"Uhm, I'm sorry for interrupting... I don't want to debate really, because I agree with Eros," Steve stated, her voice just loud enough for Mr.Walkins to hear. "I mean, Miu said that breeding was the equivalent of natural selection in a way. Breeders eliminate undesirable traits gradually over time. And she's right, but so is Eros." She rubbed the back of her neck nervously, not used to talking so much during class. "The elite and the rich have tried to be "breeders" before. Like, in slavery and the Holocaust. One of the excuses were that evolution had made these people poor, or different, or sick, or... other stuff. So they said that they had an excuse to murder, enslave, or ignore them." She stopped talking and looked down at her desk, her face beet red. After all, she had just made a fool of herself.
When Mr.Walkins mentioned a debate or having the class she thought for a minute "I agree with Eros so can we jut go on with the class? I am not up for a debate at all and just really want the class to be over with so I can go do something that actually requires my attention" she then looked around trying to see if anyone has a piece of paper and spotted Stevie "Hey Stevie do you have a piece of paper I could use I don't have my notebook".
