|| Never Enough|| The Greatest Showman ||
Yui practically rolled her eyes, did they really have to do singing exercises while they were in a hospital? Well, it seemed there was no rest for the weary. Ren hobbled over too Yui's bed, a circle forming on it while Ronan was stuck with a harmonica, blowing in a scale that they would have to copy. Ally fumbled with the instructions, telling them to sing from their chests but that felt funny. Luckily, around then, Luna awoke and told them that they were doing it all wrong, they had to sing from their diaphragms. Yes, that felt much better, singing from deep in the belly rather than up in the chest. "It's so cute when Yui sings," Ren sighed dreamily, having given up on his own practice. "It's like listening to a fairy, or a pretty bird. I just want to lock you up in a cage and keep you for myself."
"Whoa Mr. King of Darkness, that's my sister you're talking to!" Ronan said, rubbing his fist against Ren's head. Yui blushed, scratching at one of her cheeks. "I was just trying to sing from the heart," Ally laughed, now tending to the hung over Luna. Yui giggled, "Luna, you look like you had too much of a good time," Ren rolled his eyes. "It was the worst! I think Leo might be as bad as Shoku!" He groaned, flopping onto his back. Ally rolled her eyes, "I don't think anyone could ever be as bad as Shoku," and that was coming from a girl who hadn't even been tortured. "Still, I'm glad it's not me Leo is interested in this time," it was a relief to not be the one poked and prodded with needles. Yui shivered at the thought, the poor child still deathly afraid of them.
A knock came from the door, Damian and Xavier having arrived with dinner, a special guest coming in behind them, appearing a bit stoic in her cute school uniform. "We brought food!" Damian said happily, no longer plagued by the possibilities of the future. Perhaps it was a relief after all to no longer bear the title of Oracle. Now the book, while still useful to look back on, was just an ordinary book. There was no deciphering, no constant worry, just his normal mind reading ability. Xavier grinned, waving, it had been a while since he had last seen everyone. "Welcome back kiddo," he said, rifling each of their hair individually. They set up a table and chairs in the center of the room, Lia pledging that she would help protect Yui and Luna complaining that she was being replaced.
Yui shook her head, smiling ever so slightly as Xavier replied her up, the slight tremor in her bones making it a bit difficult to coordinate her walking. "That's alright Lia, you have your own life now." Yui was genuinely happy for her clone. "You shouldn't have to worry about this sort of thing anymore." Yui sat down in a normal chair, swinging her legs compulsively. "I'm glad we can all eat together like this, I miss having our family all together." Xavier's face fell ever so slightly, Damian nudged him, as though to say something. "Yui, I wanted to tell everyone under happier circumstances but... Damian and I, we got an apartment together... alone." Yui's smile fell more.
"Oh," she knew it was going to happen eventually, everyone would grow up and move on. There was no more war, no more battle, so why should they have to be together?
