Name: Amelia Werner
Age: 17
Gender: Female
Birthdate: October 18th
Personality: Amelia is a hard working girl. She's smart and that's not all because of her precognition abilities. She's always been motivated to do her best. She isn't much of a procrastinator and she loves to volunteer to help anybody. Although she may seem sweet and innocent she is actually quite tough. She isn't afraid to ask for what she wants and she will do whatever it takes to get it. She can be very blunt sometimes and she has a habit of speaking before thinking. She can say things without thinking of the consequences later on. Because of that she tends to have many embarrassing memories.
Power/Ability: Precognition
History: Amelia has known she was always different than the others... When in class she could sense things in her mind and they would come true sooner or later. Her dreams were also very vivid and realistic. Amelia was brought up okay. Her family wasn't poor but not the richest. She lived in a good neighborhood and her grades throughout school were fine. But Amelia always felt like she had nothing to her, nothing special unless you counted her powers... But sometimes she'd think of it as a burden, always knowing what happened next. She misses surprises and she can get fairly upset when people try and surprise her, since its near impossible with her powers. The only ones who knew about the powers are her parents. The powers are passed down every 3 generations. Amelia kept the secret to herself so nobody ever found out.

I awoke groggily to the yelling of my friend Serena. I clutched a pillow at wrapped it around my ears to somewhat mute her. It was silent and I looked up to the loft and she wasn't there. But I heard the shower turn on so I assumed she must've been saying something about the shower while I was muting her. I sighed as I sat up. I'd fell asleep on the couch last night and my neck hurt now... I'd had a vision last night in my dreams... And not a good one.... I rubbed the sleep out of my eyes and sighed. I didn't want to remember the dream so I better keep myself busy... This power was like a burden... Each night i'd have a dream. Good or Bad. Vivid or Blurry. Last night's dream was bad... And very.. Vivid.

I stood up and crossed over to my bedroom which was right beside the bathroom and across from the kitchen/living room. I walked into my bedroom and quickly glanced in the mirror. I was a mess. My blonde hair was all over the place. It had tangles and I didn't have time for a shower because Serena always took the longest. I had to comb my hair since i had no time for a shower. I winced as I dragged the comb through my hair, wincing and crying as it forced itself through the tangles. Finally I was done and my hair was straight and soft, with no tangles. I walked over to my dresser and grabbed my curling iron and waited for it to heat up so I could curl my hair. Once it was hot enough, I curled it giving me loose curls.

I unplugged the curling iron after and walked over to my dresser. I spent a couple minutes trying to figure out what to wear before i picked a blue long sleeve shirt and some black pants. I always liked a bit of cute so I grabbed a black and white polka dot head band with a bow on it and I put it in my hair. I picked out a pair of boots and I slipped into some boots. I walked over to my desk and grabbed my bag. I walked out of the room and into the kitchen to prepare so breakfast. I glanced at the clock. Had it only been 15 minutes? I looked in the fridge and grabbed some stuff to make so breakfast. It would be a long day. I needed some food.

I managed to grab a granola bar from the pantry and I stuffed it in my pocket. I was "supposed" to go to the cafeteria but I really didn't feel like it... And they wouldn't kill me if I didn't go. I grabbed a light black jacket and grabbed my bag and I walked out of the dorm. I walked down a hallway and then turned left at the end. I saw a staircase so I headed there. I headed down the stairs and found myself in another hallway... I still got lost in this school. I looked both ways, looking for a sign. I didn't know where I was headed... I just wanted somewhere... Quiet... To reflect on things. I decided to make a right. The sun shone through these big beautiful windows at the end of the hall... I knew it was just a window but it was beautiful. It lit up the hallway.

I continued along down the hall until I saw a door. It was old and wooden and looked worn. I felt compelled to go see what was inside so I twisted the brass knob and entered the room. It was the Library.. I'd seen a couple rooms here in the castle and they were boring, dark and fowl smelling... But the Library was beautiful. There was a stained glass window by the wall along with large windows that let the light in. The lights were turned off so you knew that all the light was natural. There were beautiful soft rugs everywhere and there were books that were old and worn with yellow pages and new shiny one with glossy covers. I smiled as I looked around. The Library was deserted. I saw a little alcove window and it looked like a great place to sit. I hopped onto the cushions and opened the window, letting the cool air in. Maybe this wouldn't be so bad. I pulled out my granola bar and began to eat.

Once Slayer was finished with her rather bland breakfast of orange juice and a plate of fruit, she checked the cafeteria clock and the schedule on her tablet. It was time for personal studying. Exiting the cafeteria and feeling a bit more energized, she followed the map on her tablet screen, trying to find the Library entrance. It was one of the few places she could stand to visit in this massive, dreadful, depressing castle.

Slayer twisted the knob and opened the door to the extensive library, basking contentedly in the natural light the windows let in. Immediately she was drawn to the grand fireplace in the center of the room on the main level. She concentrated a bit of energy on the log, lighting it and creating a warm glow.

Then as she looked about her wanting to find a book, she noticed the girl sitting quietly at the window and wondered if she had disturbed her by igniting the fireplace. Slayer shrugged to herself and continued on to one of the tall bookshelves to browse.

I sat at the Alcove as I heard the fireplace crackle to life. I raised an eyebrow. I hadn't heard anyone so it must've been powers. Pyrokinesis perhaps? I peered over and spotted a girl with fiery red hair and a daring fashion sense. Her eyes were mysterious. I watched the girl cross the room and disappear behind a large book shelf. I contemplated whether I should talk to her or not.... What would I say? I can't just use my powers to find something interesting... That's an invasion of privacy... What if I stumbled upon a secret?

I slid off the alcove, away from my view and comfy seat. I walked slowly around and pretended to be busy, finding a book when I was studying her. She appeared to be browsing the section. I walked around so I could actually see her... Maybe some conversation wasn't all bad. "Hello... My name is Amelia... Need any help finding a book?" I smiled at her.

Quickly grabbing a bite in the cafeteria, Hannah briefly glanced at the tablet. Her schedule... Err- Personal Class. Oh jolly, that meant an hour long study for... whatever. Munching on the last bit of sandwich, the girl silently walked through the castle, locating the familiar library she always preferred to study in. It wasn't quiet, well, sometimes... But the main thing were the ridiculous amount of books that they had stored in there.

Quickly twisting the knob on the door, Hannah entered the room that was decorated with a huge array of shelves, and each shelf carrying an abundance of books ready to be read and learned from.

Silently closing the door behind her, Hannah walked up to the nearest shelf, browsing through the lower shelf for something- Err, specific. She noted the conversation two other teens were having – One of them she recognized as Slayer, though the other girl was slightly hidden around the corner of the bookcase and couldn't quite make out who it was. She waved, though wasn't sure Slayer noticed it and continued her hurried browsing. Pale fingers gently slid alongside an array of books before Hannah reached out for a rather slim-looking book. Obtaining it, the muted girl quickly hurried down the path, settling near one of the desks and eagerly diving into said book.

Slayer looked to her right as the blonde girl from the window spoke to her in a friendly manner. "Hello... My name is Amelia... Need any help finding a book?"

Finally someone was speaking to her in this place. Slayer had begun to feel lonely. "Actually yes, thanks," Slayer grinned, happy to be able to finally use her voice. "I'm not entirely sure of the system in here. There's just so much to choose from." The echo created by the vastness of the library validated just how big it was.

Slayer heard the door open around the corner, Hannah appearing behind it. She glanced at the young girl from her dorm, who smiled and waved. Naturally, Slayer smiled back.

Amelia was happy to hear Slayer needed her... Amelia liked it when they said that... She felt like there was a use for her in the world. Amelia stood quietly as Slayer finished. "So you need help finding a book?" Amelia asked. Slayer turned to smile at a friend who had just entered the library. Amelia gave the girl a smile too and watched another girl appear and she waved. Guess the library was a popular place this morning?

Amelia then watched as a young boy came in. He looked about 13 and he looked like he was pretty quiet. Visions threatened to appear in her mind, of all the people in the room. Amelia winced at the mind overload and she imagined mentally pushing the thoughts out of her head and it temporarily eased her mind. Amelia watched as the boy sat at the window and she brought her attention back to the girl with red hair. The bell rang and it didn't startle Amelia... She knew it was coming.. One of the perks of Precognition. No surprises. "Oh... I have to go.." Amelia said to the girl.. She'd never even learned her name. "I'll see you around..." Amelia said, leaving without answers. Amelia walked out of the Library and headed to Art Class.

Reading the Math book that she had grabbed from the shelf, Hannah began scribbling down some of the problems on a separate paper. Probability questions mostly, since those were, ironically, her favourite ones. The girl always enjoyed the random outcome of these things, never knowing what was to be the end result. Although, with her powers... The surprise was much less a- Surprise.

“Hi, Hannah.”

The girl looked from her study, smiling as she nodded at Jordyn. Like with the other children, Hannah did not know much about her or any of her room-mates. Well, besides the obvious things, of course. Which wasn't much, just a few standard character traits that Hannah managed to observe.

Continuing her work, the girl was once again approached by someone though did not pay much attention other than smiling as the other girl sat down opposite of her. Hannah had a hard time communicating, as it always seemed a lost cause with those who do talk. Maybe-

*Riiing!*

Hannah quickly returned her left hand to her writing block, head lowered as she had yet again failed to make contact. The bell rang, signalling for most people to head for their next class. Sadly, the blonde-haired girl was one of them. See you around, she had said. The young girl didn't reply, just kept on being embarrassed by her failure of trying to make friends.

With most of them leaving the library – Which Hannah now only found out were... many – the girl looked about as if she wanted to sit with someone. Jordyn still hadn't left, what was she studying? Never mind, she was already approached by another; Adelaide, another room-mate. Shaking her head, Hannah continued her Math study.

I saw Amelia and another girl coming into the class, and I motioned for them to come over, and I patted the seats on the left and right of me. I leaned over and into my bag and grabbed my art kit. The lights in the room began to dim, and the large screen on the wall lit up. A plain face appeared on the screen, and I recognized her as Megan Morlani, the head teacher and operator of the quarantine.
"Hello, students. Today we will be continuing on your individual art projects, and to our new students, we have many options. We have fashion design, graphic design, and traditional art. Using your tablet, if you double click under art, the projects will come up. These are due in a week from today. All the supplies you need are in the back of the room. Enjoy yourselves." She said.
The screen went dead, and I went to go reclaim my tablet.
I walked to the back of the room. I picked up a sewing kit, some thread, a machine, a pile of some light pink and green floral fabric, and a piece of thick, black fabric elastic.
The machine is too heavy to carry, so I levitate it to the table.
I hear a crash.
Oh god. Oh god. I dropped the machine.
I turned around, and the machine is on a nearby table upside down, a piece broken.
I sigh a bit. And run to the table to check it, and it turns out I only dropped it a few inches.
I seriously need to either stop levitating things, or start paying attention in training.

I rushed down the hall and down a corridor into the art class. Serena patted a seat beside her so I slid into it. I put my bag down on the floor and slid out my tablet. I listened to Mrs. Morlani's instructions and when she was done I tapped on art and tapped on traditional art. The projects appeared and I smiled. I'd have fun with these. Now the visions of the final product were coming. I tried to push them out, probably looking constipated to everybody else for a moment as I fought hard. I closed my eyes and imagined it going away but the thoughts came and I gave up. In my mind i saw the finished product.. I saw all the right moves to get there... And the ones that would lead me to disaster..

I got up and left my stuff at my table and headed to the back. I grabbed the 3 primary color paints and a canvas. I grabbed some materials so I could add texture to my project and I got some brushes and a fold able easel. I set up my stuff by the window and grabbed a pencil and started the basic sketch of my painting. It was pretty easy considering I already knew how to do all of it. It was just a matter of finishing it before the due date.

I plop the partly-broken machine in front of me. I take a needle from the sewing kit and begin to tinker with the machine. It takes me a few tries, but I end up fixing it. I turn to Amelia and smile, and say Hi.
I begin to start prepping the fabric, cutting it into circle shapes perfect for a skirt similar to the one I'm wearing today. I actually made this one, for an earlier fashion project. I start sewing up the edges, then sewing on the belt. I call these skirts speedskirts, because they are very quick and easy to make. I like the style of them. I pull a loose thread off the skirt, then continue to work.

Addie goes to her art class after saying a quic hello to her roommates Jordyn and Hannah. Walking down the hall, she spies the art room and gratefully enters, taking a whiff of the familiar smell of charcoal and paint. Scanning the room, she spies Amelia and Serena seated over in the corner and chuckles when Serena breaks one of the sewing machines trying to levitate it. Oh, that girl...

"Hey, guys," Addie says, taking a seat next to Amelia and grabbing her sketchpad from the usual cubbyhole she hides it in. "How are your projects coming? You have something against sewing, Serena?" Addie giggled and crossed her legs in her seat so she could comfortable sketch. Feeling her friends embarrassment over the broken machine, Addie shook her head jokingly. Amelia's emotions were neutral, but Addie felt her frustration at trying to push away her visions. She put a comforting hand on her shoulder and gave it a squeeze before returning to her sketching, beginning to draw an outline of a boy's face, feeling the need to draw something human for once instead of landscapes.

At the sound of the bell Slayer grabbed her tablet and casually checked her schedule. Hey, she had arts class as well. Slayer followed the students filing out of the library.

Entering the arts room, she recognized many of the faces, including Amelia and the girl who had bumped into her before breakfast. She looked around, wondering which seat to take. Some of the girls looked like they already had good friends. Makes sense, Slayer thought. Many people seemed to find her intimidating at first glance. And when they found out about her dangerous ability, forget about it. She was pretty used to it, fortunately.

At least in a class like this one didn't need to talk very much. Art was a quiet subject. Deciding to mind her own business, she took a seat at an empty table and continued her charcoal drawing of a starry night sky.

"Oh, it's going pretty good. Minus my levitating skills. I tried to jump off the loft today and levitate myself down, but I fell on my butt." I laughed. "Oh, it's going pretty good. I actually like sewing a lot when the sewing machine isn't busted."
I continued to sew, and I could see that the skirt was coming together. The size wasn't perfect, the belt was a little crooked, but, it looked good overall and it can be easily fixed. I looked down at my tablet, that read 10:56.

"Guys, I'm going to go get a head start for the library for Personal Study. See you guys at lunch!" I smiled and waved at Amelia and Addie. I started to gather my stuff up, and go and put it back on the back table. I took the machine first, and without dropping it, brought it to the back table. Soon after I put the mass of fabric on top of a small cabinet in the corner of the room. I grabbed my tablet, cord, and bag and started to walk to the library. I started down the hall, pulling out my tablet. I reviewed my schedule once again as I walked, to make sure I wasn't going to the wrong place.

I then entered the library, and went straight to the academic material. I levitated a math textbook off the shelf and onto a nearby table, where I saw a boy was sitting. I didn't see him much, but I recognized him as Jax, one of the guys in Dorm B. I sat down where my math textbook dropped, about 5 seats away from Jax. Jax was shy, and I wanted to make him feel welcome.

"Hi Jax." I said smiling a bit.

I then returned to my textbook, and began to work on bisectors. I took out some grid paper and practiced a few problems, and began to really understand the concept. I then flipped to another page, and tried some more.

Soon Art Class had flown by and I had gotten 1/4 of my project done. I smiled, feeling happy that I didn't waste the lesson. I'd be done in a couple days. I watched as the clock ticked nearer to 10:00. I had about 5 minutes until class was done so I packed up my foldable easel and set it in the back. I grabbed all the materials and tools and put them neatly where they were. I watched as the bell rang and she I Serena disappear into the hall.

I grabbed my tablet and my bag and left the Art room. I had a dorm break for the next hour and I wanted to head back to the Library. It was beautiful and quiet. Just what I needed. I headed down the corridor and back to the Library. I finally walked in the Library and saw Serena and Jax sitting at one of the tables. Why not hang out with them? I headed towards them and I smiled at Serena as I said "Hi." and I found a seat across from Jax and near Serena. "Hey... Aren't you Jax?" I asked, putting my bag on my lap and rummaging for a textbook. I found one on Math and I opened it to the correct page.

Engrossed in a book, Jax didn't notice that someone had approached until they sat down, giving him a startle. He couldn't remember her first name, but knew that her last name started with Black...Jax was rather horrible with names so he often didn't even try to remember them. He knew it was probably a childish thing to do but did it anyway.

"Hello," he said, smiling slightly. She returned to her textbook and he decided that she wasn't going to talk to him much (which would save a lot of nervous socialization on his part), so he returned back to his book. Jax knew a few people, of course he couldn't avoid interactions, but he didn't mind. Most of the people at this weird school were pretty friendly and presented no grief so it was a relief to him, but he was still cautious of others, just to be sure.

Another girl approached, a friend of the other girls perhaps, and said hello to both. He didn't get startled this time, so he was able to answer her question without a dazed reaction.
"Yeah, that's me,"
He could've said 'Hey, you're Emily?' but he wasn't fully sure if that was her name and didn't want to embarrass himself in the process so he stuck to short sentences instead.

They both seemed to be studying, and a wave of guilt flooded over him as he realized that he should be too, but he knew that he shouldn't even try (the only subjects he was really good at was Humanities and Art) because it would never get done. He was hopeless at homework and his studying contained of making little towers from his stationary, so he just went back to his book.

"My names Amelia..." I smiled quickly scanning the page. I didn't need to study it since I could just tap into my precognition... but I only did that in emergencies because it could be classed as cheating... I looked back up and looked at Jax's book. I couldn't quite see the title so I decided to make a leap for conversation. "Whatcha reading there? Textbook? Any interesting facts or questions?" I asked him, awaiting an answer patiently. Even talking to people made the powers run wild. His memories, past and future threatened to enter my mind but I didn't want them. It was an invasion of privacy and I really hated this power sometimes. Amelia fought hard and finally she relaxed as the urge stopped.

Amelia...he was nearly right. Jax watched her as she asked him a question, and he realized that she thought he was studying, so it was hard to come up of some excuse as to why he was reading 'The Great Gatsby' instead of some kind of text book. In the end he sighed and held it up so she could see.

"Er...well I'm not really...studying," he said nervously "I just like to read."
He had already read it before, but enjoyed the book and decided to find it in the library when he first came here...ever since all he had done was read this book in his spare time and do the occasional homework when he had to. He was pretty sure he didn't have any at the moment...but didn't trust his judgement.

Jax smiled guiltily and stood up suddenly as the lunch bell rung. He felt rude if he just walked away but he didn't know what else to say, it wasn't often that people came up to him and started talking so he found it hard to socialize when they did. In the end he decided to ask her a question.
"Are you coming to lunch?" it was a stupid question, but he didn't know what else to say and he was sure he was already making the conversation awkward.

Kids got up from their tables and began to walk to the cafeteria, he decided if she wanted to they'd walk there together because he was in an alright mood now. The dream hadn't wrecked his whole day, he figured out, and decided to make the most of the rest of it as the morning was pretty relaxed.

I blushed when he held up the book. "Oh I just assumed... Sorry...." I looked down. I fiddled with the edge of my shirt, looking for something to do because looking at him after making that assumption made me feel awkward.. I heard the bell ring and stood up as he did too. I looked up at him when he asked if I was going to lunch. I smiled and nodded. "Yes I do plan to attend lunch..." I said to him as I gathered my textbook and shoved it into my bag. I slung it over my shoulder and stood across from him. He stood there and I wondered if he wanted to walk with me. "Hey... I hope this isn't awkward or anything since we barely know each other but I was wondering if I could eat lunch with you? I mean... I don't have many friends... Other than Serena... She'll probably go sit with someone and I don't feel like being the third wheel... And I've had my fair share of sitting alone at lunch and it isn't as much fun as sitting with someone else?" Amelia nervously said, awaiting an answer.

Jax laughed as if in relief and nodded. "Yeah, sure, me neither really...er...don't have many friends," he grabbed his bag and began to walk with her.
He felt calm, which was the strangest part of all of this, for once he felt slightly normal. Normally when Jax met new people he was a live wire of struggling nerves but today it was almost as if there was no stress whatsoever.
Recently he had gotten good with controlling himself, due to the training that he was getting from this place. They mainly taught him how to relax and be calm and control his ability to the point where most days he felt as thought he didn't belong in this place, but other times he realized how important it was that he was kept in seclusion away from normal people. Most of the kids in his school were able to protect themselves and he knew that the authorities would control any bad situations, but it still didn't stop him from getting nervous when socializing.

Jax noticed he still had the book in his hand and slipped it into the opening of his bag and then a thought came to him. He wondered what kind of ability Amelia had, it wasn't physical or a mutation of any sort and she didn't show it off or anything (he had dealt with somebody in the past who kept showing him their gills, frankly he found it rather disturbing), so it must be mental. Perhaps that was why he got along with her well enough because their abilities may be similar.
