Amory had a lot deal with growing up with the constant drama and demands in his family. His entire childhood and teenage life he was forced to adapt or break. As such he was forced to mature into area's faster than normal. Patience was one of those things needed to make it through the constant power games his parents played. He's not without limits mind you but it takes quite a bit to make him lose it. Though his patience and calm take a lot to break down it's never a good idea to push him that far. Accentuating this is Amory's calm mindset, which has shown to remain strong under quite a lot of pressure and chaos.
One thing Amory didn't let his family's drama corrupt was his kindness. Being kind let him make friends growing up and his empathy let connect with his fellow students. He has always tried to be a good example to those around him and fell into the leadership role naturally. Whether he was a club captain or the class president he always and continued to be a leader people could look up to. Amory will often act as the voice of reason or take the lead when things get out of hand.
Amory has a very keen and intelligent mind and used it to great effect growing up. He likes intellectual challenges and games that stimulate his mind. Amory prefers to let his mind and logic guide him through life more than emotions. Given enough time he'll take any situation, analyses it and make a decision based on what he determines the best course of action to be. Amory keeps an open mind on most subjects and is not against trying something new to see of it interests him.
Amory would consider himself a romantic and is very attentive to those whom he has a relationship with. He is considerate, respectful, loving, very affectionate and just as loyal to his partner as he to his friends, more so even. However Amory is very strict about fidelity and has a low tolerance for it. He also expects what he gives to his partner in terms of love and respect to be returned in kind. Bad relationships in his past have caused the two to be non negotiable with the former being a relationship breaker.

HISTORY
âââââââââââââ
The Eldridge family was known as a family of power. All of his life Amory and his brother were known as the sons of Isabella Eldridge who was a high profile lawyer and Thaddeus Eldridge a reputable and influential politician. On the surface they all appeared to be one happy family, but that was all it was, appearance. Both Isabella and Tobias had two vices, power and lust. Both were in positions of power and coincidentally both loved to play power games, even against each other. Both always tried to one up the other in terms of power and lead to them regularly cheating on each other.
Amory and his brother Thaddeus didn't want for anything growing up, save for a less toxic environment. Naturally their parents doted on them and loved them like any parents would. Both Amory and Thaddeus lived a relatively normal lifestyle for boys from an upper class family. But as they neared their teenage years their parents started using them as part of their power games, seeing who could raised the smarter, stronger and better child. Of course this put their brotherly bond to the test as their parents pit them against each other in everything. Tobias took Amory under his control to raise while his mother took Thaddeus as hers.
Now both brothers did as their parents told them but both were determined not to turn on each other as their parents had. But things were stressful for both boys with few periods of peace for them, such as when they visited their Grandparents. But as puberty began to set in both started to change in response to their environment and influences. Amory responded positively, rejecting his parents preconceived notions of their power games and developed into a calm and kind person. He was diligent in his studies allowing him to be an straight A student, his personality let him make friends easily and his natural desire to lead and be a good example helped him become the student council president in high school.
Thaddeus on the other hand slowly changed from the loving and fun brother to a toxic individual like their parents. Thaddeus became a bit more rebellious from their parents, not obeying them at times and doing what he wanted to do. He became more arrogant, belligerent towards Amory and as toxic as their parents were. Thaddeus even went out of his way to try and prove himself to be superior to Amory, to the point he all but physically abused Amory. Though once as close as brothers could be now Amory and Thaddeus were as different as night and day. They ran in different circles, had different activities and didn't like each other. For Amory the pressure was mounting each day as the drama and power games grew.
Thankfully his trips to his grandparents home kept Amory from going off the deep end. Frederick and Abigail Elderidge were vastly different from Amory's parents. They loved each other unconditionally, did their best to keep a loving and peaceful home and tried hard to work out any problems they had. They were a source of inspiration for Amory on how he wanted to live his life and though Thaddeus no longer went with him Amory continued to take his summer breaks with his Grandparents. Like his parents they too were part of the upper class but Abigial owned her own successful bakery and Frederick was a successful stock broker and investor.
During his summer vacations Amory learned a great deal from both, such as how to cook from his Grandmother who was eager to teach him. But it was Amory's grandfather who taught him about investing in stocks, business, real estate and more. It was an education Amory needed to break away from his family, but to do that he needed funds to do his own investing. His grandparents were willing to give him some money for his investing but Amory didn't feel right about it so he took a summer job working with a friend of his grandparents who was a general contractor. The job let Amory learn skills in construction and home maintenance as well as paid him the money he needed, Amory was able to use the money to start his own investing and gain independence from his family.
It couldn't have come at a better time. As graduation was approaching things continued to deteriorate with Amory's family, as his father was continuing to push Amory by having him attend Harvard and go into politics like him. However Amory had no intentions to do that and made his intentions known. This infuriated his father and pleased his mother, who also wanted Thaddeus to do the same and become a lawyer like her. This did cause tension to rise but what finally pushed things over the boiling point was when Thaddeus pushed Amory too far.
During their High school years Amory had his share of girlfriends and being the belligerent womanizer he was Thaddeus made it a point to steal Amory's girlfriends. One girl Amory had a very deep relationship, Grace Williams, was a girl Amory had been dating for over a year. The two were in love and were expected to attend collage together after graduation. When Amory returned from his visit right before graduation, he started hearing rumors about Grace being seen on a date with another boy. After some questioning Amory found out not only were they real, but who she was seen with, his brother Thaddeus.
This finally pushed Amory too far, all of the stress over the years from his parents power games and his brother's constant belligerence finally caused Amory to lose his come for the first time. When he confronted his brother he let lose all of his built up stress which escalated it from a yelling match to physically brawl between the two. Their parents broke up the fight but not before Amory got his point across. Amory's actions had the typical consequences with his parents but by then he didn't care. Amory realized just how dangerous being around his family was. He didn't believe he would become toxic and corrupt like they were, but he did realize it would change him in a bad way.
Amory knew he had to break away from them and find a new life. When graduation came and went Amory found his friends were also talking of leaving home and it was suggested they all move to New York. For all of them it was a good solution to their problems, for Amory it wasn't just a good option, it was one he needed. So Amory took a few days to get his things packed and affairs in order before leaving with his friends for New York. He left a note for his family telling them he had left and why, but not for where. Amory needed to break away from his family and find a new peaceful life for himself. What better way to do that then with his best friends from his childhood.
But only time will tell if he made a good decision to share life with his friends, or if he simply traded one bad situation for another.
