Casual Wear
For Natalia's casual outfit, she usually seems to wear a loose, thin white t-shirt, with the front usually tucked into the black, somewhat ripped pants that are more fitted around her longer legs. She almost always throws some kind of jacket over her white shirt (unless it's really hot), though the most frequent of all seems to be a more loose denim one. The sleeves on that jacket are always, without a doubt, rolled up to a quarter sleeve. She usually throws on a watch around her wrist. Her earings are normally simple studs. She is always wearing a cloth wrapping around her fingers and hands, as well as wrists. It reaches up to about her elbow.
Face Claim

Natalia is seen as a rather carefree and laid back person most of the time, not being very loud, but not shyly quiet either. She enjoys to be able to simply relax or just hang out around somewhere with others, friends or acquaintances. She's pretty friendly for the most part, and enjoys meeting and befriending new people. Though it seems that occassionally, Natalia will be determined and/or persistent over certain things if she finds it a fun challenge, which can be good or bad, depending on the situation. She's even rather competitive if she finds a game or a challenge she likes. She is definitely an independent person, and can do perfectly fine on her own, whether it be taking care of herself, or keeping up on school projects/homework. Natalia doesn't seem to handle stress very well, and easily breaks into tears when those come around, though she usually does her best to keep it to herself. She finds lounging around much more enjoyable than being active. Natalia seems to be a bit self conscious about her height, and finds herself rather hurt when people tease her about it, but she usually doesn't talk about it. She doesn't seem to particularly like her power very much, disliking how grotesque and graphic it is, but has grown to accept it over the year she has already spent at the academy. For some reason, Natalia seems to have a sensitive stomach, and is easily nauseated or made sick by all different things.
Strengths
- She seems like a rather laid back person. It takes a lot for her to get worked up, or anything of the sort (unless a fun challenge comes up).
- Natalia is a pretty independent person, and can definitely take care of herself if she needs to. She doesn't need help with most things either, including school.
- While she isn't super active, it doesn't mean that she can avoid any kind of activity at all while being at the school. She's found herself gaining muscle through the rough physical education course, and has even gained some from the power and ability control class that she will occasionally have one on one with Mr. Nakajima (something required by the academy's principle).
Weaknesses
- Natalia doesn't seem to handle stress very well, and is often left in tears if it gets out of hand (in her mind).
- She's not entirely sure why, (though she blames it on her power) but she finds herself easily nauseated. Simple things like the sight of blood or injury, or perhaps some conversations or foods, can trigger it.
- Natalia doesn't have very good control over when she uses her ability, so she's always wearing a specially made cloth wrapping to keep herself from causing accidents or anything of the sort.
Fears
- Without full control over her power, accidents are bound to happen, and Natalia knows that. It's something that's constantly nagging her in the back of her mind, and why she's always checking to make sure the wrapping around her hands and arms are still in good condition.
- After being rejected by her entire school and her own friends, Natalia finds the idea of being abandonned again terrifying, and can't even imagine going through that once more.
- Natalia seems to have a literal fear of spiders, and even small ones will send her off running, and at times screaming as if her life is in danger.
Disintegration
Power Class
Miscellaneous
Power Description
Natalia's ability, disintegration, allows her to "break down" solid objects or people that she comes into direct, physical contact with. The process of disintegration is slow, but effective. Losing physical contact with her target causes her ability's effect to end on that person, until she is able to touch them again. Her ability can only be activated or used through her fingers, palms, and the bottom of her wrist. Attempted use of her ability through anywhere else on her body is known to be impossible, as it does nothing at all.
Power Limitations and Weaknesses
- Natalia's ability is limited to direct, physical touch only. Once she loses contact with her target, she can no longer use her ability on them (that is, until she manages to create physical contact again).
- Currently, Natalia is unable to control when she uses her abilities and when she doesn't. Because of this, she's required (by the academy's principle) to wear a cloth double layered wrapping around her fingers, hands, and up to her elbows, just to be safe.
- Natalia's ability can cause damage even to herself, if she isn't paying attention while her wrapping is off and places her hands down anywhere on her body.
- Natalia's power is limited through the use of just her fingers and palms, and a little bit of the bottom of her wrist. Trying to use her ability through any other body part has proven completely useless.
- Natalia's power isn't completed in an instant. It takes quite a lot of time for her break through all of the layers of skin, muscle and bones.
- Natalia's power doesn't allow her to completely break down an entire layer of skin or muscle at one. The place she comes in contact with her hand is slowly broken down, and it only spreads about an inch or so from her fingers and palms before she has to move her hand again to break another area down again.
- If Natalia overuses her ability, her own hands can begin to break down. It's noticable when this happens, as the skin begins to peel away in big chunks, and can even get as low as the bones if she goes for too long.
- Natalia's bones (within her fingers/hands and the wrist) are rather brittle or weak (likely broken down a bit due to her ability), and are known to easily break/snap if she isn't careful.
- Natalia seems to have sudden bursts of nausea when using her ability. Whether it's actually from the use of her ability, or because Natalia finds it sickening, is unknown.
- Breaking down bone (in living people) is extremely hard, and a lengthy process. It often takes several hours to even destroy a small section of it.
- If someone were to somehow disable the use of her hands, she would be unable to fight with her ability anymore.
- Her ability can only break down solids. Liquids and gasses are impossible to do anything to.
Born into a small family consisting of herself, her older brother, and her mother and father, the four of them lived together "peacefully" in a slowly growing city located in North America. During that time, it wasn't exactly the most wonderful and happy days. It was only three years after the events with the awakened and the fight for Furushima Academy had started to "calm down," yet even though all of the news programs and other things on the TV told them that everything had been fixed, and that everyone was equal and on good terms now, it was an obvious lie to everyone watching. In no way had everything calmed down, and there was no possible way that everyone was equal and on good terms either. The rising of the many anti-normie organizations had started, as well as the anti-awakened organization becoming much more violent and aggressive. It was constant battle each day, and even if it wasn't happening just outside of your home, it didn't mean that it wasn't happening at all. In fact, plenty of people were being dragged into prison each day for all sorts of things that happened against all of these groups...murder, physical or sexual assault, the list could go on forever. It was hard for the small family; while their parents were trying to protect their two small children, one only several months old, the other only four, they were also unsure if the place they lived in now was even safe for them at all. Even so, they didn't have the money to move, even if they wanted to. Thus, they were stuck living there, just hoping that the chaos would stay clear of their city.
As the years went on, Natalia began to age on, and she began school, where she did well enough, both academically and socially. She had already found herself a small group of friends within the first couple weeks, and she felt accepted enough. She was a pretty active kid as well, and as she got older, she found herself involved in plenty of sports, though mainly volleyball. As time went on, some might even say she was climbing up the ladder to popularity, with her exciting, cheerful personality as well as her involvement in all different areas of her school, and she would nearly make it to the top before she turned exactly the age of fifteen. Everything became a complete disaster from there.
It was on her fifteenth birthday when her and two of her friends had gone out to go have a small celebration with each other. Grab some ice cream or a couple slices of cake at the small, local shop just by their homes, open up the small presents they had gotten her, and then walk home and decide what to do from there. The night had gone perfectly well through all of it, but that ended as they were making their way back to their house, and they were suddenly attacked by a man twice all of their sizes at the time, in both height and size, though he was much muscular than he was overweight. Panic and fear was the only thing the three of them could feel, expecially once they realized nearly no one was out and around the area, save it another man who walked past them without noticing what was going on. They were slowly backed into a corner, with their attacker threatening them in all sorts of ways if they were to call out for help. Suddenly, the man lunged at them, arms outstretched. In a panic, Natalia threw her hands out to protect herself, and as they came in contact with the man's chest, she suddenly heard him let out a scream of agony. Quickly looking up, she found the there were holes in his shirt exactly where she'd placed her hands, and the skin around it was peeling away and falling off, some of it even turning to dust. The man was too startled to even care about the girls anymore, and he had disappeared within seconds. When Natalia looked back, she could only see expressions of fear on her friends' faces, and soon enough, before she could try and even say anything, they'd ran off. She wasn't even sure what had happened, but something inside of her got her up off her feet, and started her way back home.
By the time she'd made it to her home, it was nearly midnight, and she was terrified. Her friends had run away from her, she somehow broke, if that was even the right word, that man's shirt and skin with a simple touch. As she opened the door, she realized she'd even left a faint imprint of her fingers into the knob. Her parents came rushing down the stairs, confused and worried about what was going on after they heard the door slam shut, only to find her on the ground, crying. When they asked her what was going on and lead her over to the living room, she immediately blurted out what came to her mind: she was one of the awakened. The words brought her parents to a stunned silence for a moment, and they tried to make sense of what she was saying, before finally she found herself enveloped in a tight hug from the both of them. Confused but relieved at the same time by their reaction, she slowly passed out into a silent sleep in their arms, finally able to relax, even if it was just a little bit.
The next few weeks were literal hell for Natalia. She was never sure of when she was using her ability or when she wasn't. She could hardly touch anything, and by the first week, she'd already destroyed hundreds of pencils, plenty of school papers, and so many other things that she used everyday of her life. She didn't know how to control it at all, when to make it stop working. That wasn't the only problem either. The two friends that had been with her had already spread the news around the school. Everyone knew, and no one wanted to be around her. The city was still pretty cautious about the awakened, and so, they kept their distance. She felt alone, rejected, and hurt. She only had her family now. Yet, someone in her grade year found her rather curious, and felt bad for her situation...enough so that one day, he approached her as she was walking home alone. Surprised and nervous about him suddenly appearing and actually talking to her like no one else would, she hardly knew how to act, but he didn't seem to mind. In fact, he was totally fine with it. He later introduced himself as William, and soon it seemed like they would have a friendship.
As a year went by, the two of them had grown rather close, and he seemed to have accepted her ability as it was. She had opened up quite a bit more and had gained a more laid back personality, and it seemed as if being one of the awakened hadn't even done anything to her at all. She was just the same as she was before. The two of them found themselves hanging out nearly everyday, seeing movies, playing games (though sometimes that was hard with Natalia's power), going on walks around the city, and so many other things. She felt like she could be open with William, like she could be herself around him and not have to worry about anything at all.
Though, an accident was bound to happen sooner or later with her uncontrollable ability, and it did when they were walking home after a hang out together one night. In an attempt to perhaps hold hands, William had reached and found his grip on hers, but quickly jumped back in shocked surprise, before looking down at his hand to see the skin beginning to peel away. Natalia was horrified at what she'd just done. How could she? To her own friend? She'd hurt him!
Quickly, she cried out several apologies, but before she could run away, he quickly grabbed her shoulders, and shook her several times to get her attention on him. When he told her that it was okay, and that it wasn't her fault, she froze, and stared at him. When the apology came from him, she couldn't even say anything in reply. Had he really said all of that? Really?
After he finally got her home, he had walked her up to the door, given her a quick hug, and then waved as he quickly made his way out and down the street, as if nothing had happened. It was then that she realized maybe what she was wasn't actually that bad. Slowly, the process of her acceptance of herself began, because of William.
It was only several weeks later after those events that the government seemed to take notice, and they sent out a letter to her: an invitation to Furushima Academy. Though it was a hard decision, knowing she had to leave her family and William, they all knew it would be best for her, especially if she wanted to learn to control her abilities. So, she slowly packed her bags, and soon enough, she found herself making her way to Japan, where she would soon be in a school full of all others like her.
"He seems a bit jumpy and nervous most of the time. Of course, I haven't really seen him that much or tried to talk to him; maybe he's different once you know him better?"
She finds Kosei to be a rather funny kid with the way he acts and how nervous he seems to be, but all the same, she doesn't try to intrude on his personal life or past. And even so, there are plenty of other students at the academy who are just a scared; most everyone has been through hard times after finding out about their difference in the world, perhaps some are worse than others, but all have suffered unfairly for something they couldn't control. Sometimes they just need some comfort, or a reassuring hand to hold on to while they make their way through their troubles, and Natalia thinks that perhaps Kosei needs someone himself.
"Ah, he's rather cold, wouldn't you say? He doesn't seem to be interested in trying to even create some kind of positive relationship with anyone. Of course, there's nothing I can do about that...I think."
While she doesn't hate Lucien at all, she doesn't entirely like him either, or at least not particularly right now. He's cold, unfriendly, and almost seems like he has no interest in being around people, or trying to develop any kind of relationship at all...or ever. She finds it to be a hard situation. While she wouldn't mind at least trying to talk to him, have a nice conversation or two, something along those lines, she isn't really sure how to strike one up and keep it going without feeling awkward or as if she's just an annoyance. The other problem is, she only really seems to be around him when she's dragging Nova away, and Lucien doesn't seem to like her little sibling all too much...
"Alfred? Oh, he's such a sweetheart! He always seems to be going around and helping everyone he can...such a kind person. I wouldn't mind getting to know him one day, if I could."
Natalia, despite the fact that she hasn't exactly talked with him much, if at all, has seen him around enough to know that he's a good person. It didn't take her long to notice that he was always helping others, whether it was emotional or mental, or even just being there to support them with perhaps something like school or a class. She likes that quite a lot, and actually finds herself rather fond of the younger male, though she has yet to try and actually get a real, true conversation going with him. Hopefully one day, when she finds the chance to, and it doesn't seem too awkward for either of them.
"Oh little Nova, they're like a little sibling to me! I love when they're around me, or when we're just hanging out. They always help brighten up my day!"
Natalia constantly finds herself hanging around with Nova, no matter where she is, and for the most part, no matter what she's doing. Her short classmate, who she considers to be like a little sibling (despite being nearly an entire year younger than them), is someone she would say is her closest friend, like family. They always seem to be able to cheer her up when she's feeling down, or can get her to laugh no matter what. If they weren't awkward about touching, and she didn't have to worry about her ability possibly harming them by accident, they would be getting plenty of tight hugs from her, that's for sure.
"Ah...Taikan is...a challenge, to say the least. I've already seen enough of him and the way he acts towards the other students, and even the teachers themselves, both physically and verbally, to know he's almost nothing but bad news..."
Despite how Natalia is normally pretty accepting of others, she has an incredibly hard time with Taikan. The male definitely sends off an aura of hate and anger, and that's something she doesn't like to be around for very long. His harsh words, insanely short temper, and sudden outbursts often catch Natalia off guard, and quickly send her into complete confusion as to where his anger even came from in the first place. She's seen him around the academy several times already, seemingly always fighting with another. She doesn't exactly appreciate how he treats Nova either, and though there wouldn't be much she could do, she would be quick to defend her little sibling.
"Keiji is a funny guy, don't you think so? He seems nice enough, but...I don't really appreciate his little pervert personality. Does he not understand what boundaries are?"
Keiji's an interesting person, to say the least, and Natalia knows that well enough herself. Nice, happy, and appearing to be a positive person, while also having an incredibly perverted side that is quick to make Natalia back off or just walk away from him. She isn't interested in his sexual side at all, and is quick to turn him down or shut him out from her mind. Perhaps trying to get him to stop would be nice, but she doubts he would even try quitting his ways at all if she asked...so she's mostly just given up and learned to try to be quick with her words...for the most part.
"Abel, I don't want to buy anything from you, but hey, I'm always open for a quick hang out or a conversation."
Natalia knows to be quick to turn down Abel and his offers, especially before he can convince her to buy his things with some crazy persuasion. Though, she does think he'd be a fun person to hang around, maybe become closer friends with him. Of course, that would take time, like any other thing. So for now she just has to be able to get past his flirting (though it isn't really that bad, if she's honest...) and his salesman like nature. There is also something about his power that is actually quite pretty, and it catches her eye very easily.
"How friendly, and so old fashioned! I quite like his style."
Natalia thinks of Elias as one of her really good friends. They end up being around each other quite a bit because of Nova, which of course, Natalia is completely fine with. The help is very relieving, and Elias is someone she feels at happy around. Not to mention she feels like she can comfortably talk to him as well, and knows that he's someone she can go to if she really needs help with something, and he can do the same, if he needs help too. They have quite a lovely friendship, if she does say so herself.
"Even though he seems really cold and all, Bardon's a pretty nice guy. I've met him once or twice, and I know the academy made a good choice choosing him."
Natalia, in her first year at the academy, occasionally went to see Bardon, though not very much. It was mainly if something maybe happened with her ability...at least, along those lines for the most part. With the small conversations she's had with him, and the times she's seen him around the academy, she knows he's definitely a good person, and only means the best for everyone, despite the rather eerie feelings he gives off when he's there.
"Hm, Nao? I haven't really talked with her much. I see her around the school occasionally though, and she always seems to be with someone, so I'm sure she's a nice person."
Having not talked much with Nao, along with several of the other students, Natalia doesn't exactly know what she's like, though she assumes that the girl is a nice person, especially when she sees her in the hallways of the academy talking with other students and the such. So, Natalia wouldn't mind trying to get to know the fellow awakened girl, and perhaps then, she could manage to get a small friendship started from that.
"Shizuka tends to be rather nervous, or timid, person, though when I've talked with her a couple times, she seems really nice! I wouldn't mind getting to know her, if she would let me..."
She knows Shizuka from several of her classes, but not too much more than that. The girl always seems like she's on the verge of falling into tears and is easily scared, or at least that's what it seems like to Natalia. She hasn't talked to her classmate too much, but at the same time, she would love to get to know the girl better, and even finds herself rather curious of the girl at times, though she won't dig her for information; it would most definitely be rude of her. All the same, Natalia sees Shizuka as a kind girl who she would like to become friends with...if only she could get past the girl's thick, protective shell.
"Oh...she doesn't seem to like me very much, but that's okay..."
As strange as it might seem to some, Natalia is actually kind of sad with the fact that Kylie doesn't like her. She's not entirely sure herself why she really cares so much, usually if someone dislikes her so quickly, she'll back off and keep her mind off of it, but not with Kylie. Is it because she never really had a chance to prove herself? Or maybe because she feels like there's something she could do to help Kylie? Or is it something deeper? It's something she won't know for a while.
"Oh dear, she doesn't like me very much either! There's no way I'll ever get through to her though...she's already made that perfectly clear..."
Natalia has tried to get through to Chiharu before, but it's never really worked out. The girl got aggressive before she could really even do much of anything, which is when Natalia realized that the blonde really, really hated it when people even tried to help her with simple things. It was quite a shock to suddenly be yelled at when all she'd asked was if Chiharu had wanted some help with the homework she'd seemed to be struggling with, before watching her suddenly storm away in an angry fit. She wouldn't mind trying again, but she's still trying to figure out ways to get to her without setting her off again.
