Haruko Makibi's Story

High in the skies above Nimbasa City, a deafening sonic boom rang through the city as a single vessel no more than 100 meters in length began its initial descent.

Detective 3rd class Makibi eyed the readout as she guided the controls of her patrol cruiser to select an ideal landing place for her to launch her investigation into reports of yet another alien incursion in violation of the protected planets treaty. She first eyed the console as the ships air brakes engaged, causing it to lurch as it began to slow down. Then she looked down to a large open field, she would normally land inside the spaceport, but this situation required direct access to the population as well as quick emergency landing.

She engaged the landing gear upon final descent, and slowed the ships descent even further.

Those on the ground likely would be unable to miss the vessel as it careened through the sky, with its whitewashed hull trimmed in blue, bearing the crest of the Galaxy Police, the vessel was easily recognizable.

A message would ping on the Makibi ship, "This is Captain Durgen Hueghes of the Fireknaught Federation. We are in the city you are preparing to land in. Might I ask what the Police are visiting for? We've got an investigation and your ship might scare what we're looking for."

The fleshlike humanoids were present in Nimbasa City but had remained undercover as normal Ruulans. They each had one Pokemon each, a hidden baton, a capsule with a densified knock-out gas, and hand cuffs. These soldiers weren't here to kill, they just wanted to arrest what they were after and get answers. They needed their suspect for military purposes that were beyond this world.

Kinoko's Reconnoiter immediately went off at the ship's appearance, the device showing the ship's location as well as a small number of signatures on board. "What the? Hold up guys, that thing is huge!"

The entire group stopped their flight towards the stadium and landed atop a roof of a building in the city. The others also looked up the signature on their Reconnoiters. "Whoa," Maynace started, "You're absolutely right! There's a few powers, mates! Look sharp!"

Hana smiled. "Perhaps they can go watch baseball with us!" Slale shot her down fast though. "No. They look too official for it. Stay sharp Misonii! We don't know what they'll be capable of compared to the 'Pokemon' we saw fighting earlier. If they're anything like those creatures, then we'll be in for a rough fight!"

Mirkan flipped his hair aside. "Well, then we'll take them on if they wish to fight. We really should lead them to a more secluded area if that happens. Or we can just leave and come back another day. That would work too."

Kinoko smirked. "Whatever the case, we'll need to hold still and see what they want. Large ships don't fly into crowded cities for fun and games."

The group stood and awaited the situation to unfold.

The massive engines of the GP-342 Seina protested and groaned as Haruko selected the proper landing location, and began typing in several strings of commands into the ship's computer systems.

Winds whipped up around the park where the ship began it's descent, the landing gear extended to absorb the weight of the vessel, touchdown had been achieved as Haruko rested in her seat.

"Alright; time to cruise around and see what I can find."

With the ship settled into it's landing area, Haruko unfastened her seat harness and stood up, smoothing down her red and white uniform, before making her way to the starboard hatch, which she opened slowly, an audible hiss emanating from the door seal as the pressures of the Starship's life support and Ruula's atmosphere equalize, she made a face as her comm node chimed, the Firenaughts were hailing in.

Keying the Comm Node she replied. "I'm on official police business, do not interfere." In Common, before she started down the steps to the planet, eyes on the gathering crowd.

She looked up, trying to isolate the location of the various Miso Squad members, she frowned. "I wonder why the Marshal chose to send me to this dump."

She keyed up a remote control, and the Cargo elevator of the ship descended from it's belly, a Taiyou made awd car with clean sleek lines, bathed in light blue and bright orange reflective paint, along with the crest of the Galaxy Police and a blue LED Light bar was lowered down, a weapons rack, and a single Type 303 Powered Exoskeleton, which was armed with a 60mm Autocannon, with underslung 120mm Impulse Driven Kinetic Kill Vehicle.

She held up a remote, and the car chirped twice before she started walking towards it, She eyed her weapons, with judicious selection. She ensured there was proper ordinance should these aliens resist, that she could hold out in battle until reinforcements arrived.

"I'll need to patch into local radio networks to locate the source of this incursion." Keying her communications headpiece, which was linked directly to her cyberbrain, she began to sift through local communications.

She put out an all-range identifier that local Police and Military could utilize, and then she opened the door to the car.

The entire group would descend from their building, flying down to land before Haruko as she proceeded to enter her vehicle. They all landed in an arrowhead pattern so that all five were visible and in formation.

Kinoko looked much like the Ruulans, but had a brown tail wrapped around her waist. A scowl was on her face, but it slowly turned into a confident smirk.

To Kinoko's right was Hana, a pink humanoid alien with tentacles shaped into a hairstyle. She had no nose, and red eyes along with an impish smile.

To Kinoko's left stood Maynace, a magenta skinned humanoid with short white hair and black eyes. She kept a smooth look that was nonetheless intense.

To Hana's right was Mirkan, a light blue skinned humanoid with green hair and golden eyes. He had a cool smile and was quite the handsome fellow.

To Maynace's left was Slale, a green skinned humanoid with slug like characteristics. He was stoic and seemed incredibly serious, he didn't mess around it seemed.

Kinoko spoke first. "No need to go on a road trip there, lady! We're right here! I can tell you're after us, so save us some time and tell us what you want with us!"

Haruko stopped as the five strange beings landed just adjacent to her ship. She didn't make any sudden movements, but she began to wirelessly communicate with the powered exoskeleton through her Cyberbrain.

"I represent the Galaxy Police, you may or may not know who that is, what you need to know is this is that your presence here is in violation of a host of treaties and international laws." She said, turning to face the five full on, as the powered exoskeleton came to life.

"I'm going to ask you to leave this world, otherwise I will have no choice but to forcibly remove you; and place you under arrest." She said, her voice stern, yet smooth. Her mind was working carefully, sifting through the very basics of reality, she was extending her perception outwards, sensing the capabilities of those before her.

The capabilities were quite numerous. Almost each of the individuals had a plethora of methods of engagement, and each was roughly as strong as the others, though a few stood out. None of them would be a pushover if it came to a fight. It was quite possible that some of them could outright wink a planet out of existence if they felt so inclined, or disintegrate even large ships. A few of them also seemed like they could take on new forms if required, while one of them could induce transforming in others. All of them could harness energy for use in a variety of ways.

At Haruko's introduction, the group had a pretty good laugh. Maynace spoke next. "Oy, get a load of this gal! She's quite the humorous one I'd say!" This earned some more chuckles from the group, but Kinoko retook control and replied to Haruko.

"So, Galaxy Police and a bunch of laws. Seems legit I suppose. While you mean well, we do have a mission to finish here. We're scouting the land and all, mapping the planet. We can't leave yet, since we only just started...but..." Kinoko held a hand forward. "...forced removal does sound awful fun. I wonder just how you'd even accomplish that task?"

Kinoko pondered for a moment before making her proposal. "How about this? We'll keep on doing our thing without harming anyone, as intended. If you'd like, you can try to forcibly remove us, and perhaps if you manage to put up enough of a valiant effort when we no doubt retaliate, we'll humor you and leave this place. What do you think, 'officer'?"

Mirkan and Hana seemed intrigued now, and Maynace and Slale uncrossed their arms to loosen up.

The Fireknaughts were not crazy, they knew they needed to watch whoever came from that ship. By time they would get close enough to hear anything, they caught the last few sentences Kinoko spoke. The Fireknaughts knew they were not in good shape here if they intervened so they called in for a drone recording of the situation. This drone would begin recording and grading the power scales of these aliens and the vehicle the Police officer was in as it was in view.

A message would come over the earpiece of the uncercover Fireknaught wore, "We will be dropping uniforms and equipment. Do not intervene in this unless the the Police officer is in bad shape and there is no other option. We will brief you on your mission when you pick up your uniforms and equipment. You will find the items in the PokeMart, just ask tell them you are there to pick up your clothes and camping supplies."

"Yes sir." The Fireknaught responded, sending the two low ranked soldiers to get the uniforms and equipment while he stayed and watched.

There was little a lone Fireknaught could probably do to the five of them, but they could possibly give them a run for their money in their new forms. The Fireknaughts were no longer stone, but their body and it's strength never lost it's power. The Fireknaught did not know how strong they really were in their new fleshy forms when put to the test.

The lone Fireknaught whispered to himself, "I hope that officer knows what they're doing."

The young blonde frowned as the five greeted her in a challenge.

She really didn't want to resort to using force, but the mandates were clear that the underdeveloped planets treaty must be upheld, and it was the collective will of the people of Andromeda that Ruula be kept under the treaty.

"This isn't a game." The woman replied, while keying up her Cyberbrain, uplinking to the communications of the Seina and keying up a relay satellite in orbit.

"This is GXP-36 requesting support with possible hostiles, they're super powered individuals."

"I'm giving you a lawful order to leave this planet, if I have to use force, you will be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent allowed by our international court system. Do not make me use force."

A moment later, Haruko's Cyberbrain keyed up, it was HQ.

"The Imperial Taiyou Navy, and the Matokey order have deployed peacekeeping assets to Ruula, their ETA will be twenty minutes for the Taiyou, and five for the Matokey, standby."

"This is your final warning, vacate this world."

Her eyes narrowed as reality itself began to suddenly bend around her, strange 'glitches' in existence began to appear suddenly as her mind extended outwards. A massive localized disturbance followed as her mind snapped like a rubber band, a dome of energy engulfed them locally, encompassing the entire park. Her mind was concentrating on the fabric of space and time, intending on ripping them from Ruula, and transporting them to an alternate reality.

The quintuplet broke into another chuckle, but quickly stopped when their Reconnoiters all went off. The energy dome catching them entirely off guard. "Whoa whoa whoa!" Hana began, "That energy is comparable to Ms. Kattelya's!"

Kinoko and Maynace both clenched fists, with Maynace speaking. "Right, this is ridiculous now. We gotta get out of here! Ms. Kattelya was able to smack us around with ease!"

Kinoko nodded. "Indeed. Argh! So mad! Alright! Miso Force, we're regrouping and figuring out how to handle this! This contract is almost unable to be completed!"

The group all immediately took off, retreating to the desert outside of the city, where they would regroup and figure out what to do next.

"Phew. That was awful scary. I may just be a civilian now, but I used to be somebody. I might even be somebody once again. Thanks, guys, that was getting kinda tense when one of them summoned an Aura Sphere. It sounded like they wanted to take a Battle Test without having any Pokemon on them. What were they planning to do, take them on with their bare hands? It was crazy from start to finish!"

Oh, hey, maybe these guys would be friendly. "Ossu, minna! Doko kara kita no?" She waved to the Fireknaughts and the officer, beaming at remembering the new phrase she learned from watching Koukan Talk!

The squad leader removed himself from hiding and made his way towards the officer. He made no haste and looked like a common Ruulan when approaching, but the officer would most likely pick up on his human race not being Ruulan. He would wave to the woman who was waving to him.

When the Fireknaught was in range of the police officer, he spoke up, "What were those things?"

Kinoko returned to Nimbasa City, flying high over the city as she looked over everything with her Reconnoiter, taking images of things. She took special interest in the many creatures and the Ruulans that were mingling below, getting what readings she could on any potential power ratings compared to her own. Some of these "Pokemon" could prove challenging should it ever come to a fight, but the Ruulans themselves were quite weak.

Cracking her neck, she smirked and took special note of the Galaxy Police ship still present. That would be a nuisance, but as a solo individual, she wasn't confined by any distraction, and could easily stay out of that officer's reach. "I'm curious now. Some of those individuals in the desert are here now. I should keep an eye on that; such developments could radically alter the report we take back to our client. It's also interesting...the wildlife forms around here are strong, and they seem intelligent too, yet they allow themselves to be commanded by the inferior Ruulans. Perhaps that 'Touko' girl can fill me in if I run into her again. Though annoyingly chipper, she was a decent source of info."

Kinoko grinned and continued her survey while keeping tabs on Radegast, and anyone with him, from above.

The uniforms had been retrieved and the Fireknaught returned quickly to the scene of the incident. The two had already changed and wore their uniforms that made them look more like a spec-ops than an actual soldier. In their hands they carried rifles, neither carrying ammunition, but an electrical beam that would temporarily knock out an enemy. On their head they wore helms that could gauge an enemies power, scan the area in many different forms of vision, and produces a signal that jams out any telepathic communications. The rest of their body was covered in camo uniforms and decked with many other items and weapons for knocking out and detaining an enemy instead of killing them.

When the two came forward to their squad leader, he quickly dropped his clothes, revealing all the glories of his perfectly sculpted body, and slid into his outfit. Now, before the officer, stood three Fireknaught soldiers who were garbed to bring down an enemy, even if they were much stronger than them. While many would look at them and become intimidated by their weaponry, they would never have to deal with it unless they were abnormally powerful or unknown; this situation being both. While a Fireknaught could go toe to toe with many alien species, if there was an easier way to combat them, the Fireknaught would attempt to.

"Men, we have a mission to complete..." The squad leader spoke as a beep went off inside his helm.

The beep had went off in all their helms and they immediately looked to the sky. The scanners were enlarging the image and scanning the power level of the flying being. There was nothing on them that they could use to bring the being to the ground, so they needed to think of a plan to do so.

The squad leader quickly developed an idea. He pulled a container from his pocket that had different modules in it and placed a module that amplified his rifles power. After doing so, he aimed high and placed an electric bolt directly in the path of the alien to grab their attention. While doing so, the other two men took positions in hiding in case the alien did land and things didn't go smoothly.

"Officer, you should be looking for the others. I can't justify you being on this planet, but while you are here, it seems we might need your help. We'll handle this one if you will find the others... You and I both know something is amiss if only one has returned." the squad leader spoke to the Galaxy Police officer.

Haruko made a face as the strange alien beings took off before the displacement dome could be fully manifested. Her mind twitched abruptly as the dome dissipated.

"Tch.." She growled, as she watched them take off, only glancing momentarily at the Firenaughts, while the dome continued to dissipate.

She reached up and snapped her fingers, and a hoverbike revved it's engines, dropping from the cargo bay of the GXP Cruiser.

There were five of them and one of her, this meant she would need to take them down one by one, and incapacitate them for arrest and transport back to HQ.

"I'm here under the authority of the Underdeveloped Planets Preservation Treaty which the local government signed and consented to, now I have a job to do." She said, engaging the hoverbike's engines; which roared to life.

The bike took off in a cloud of dust, and ascended high into the sky, Haruko flipped a few switches, and a holographic display flickered to life. "I'll need to acquire their unique energy signatures so I can track their movements." She caught Kinoko high in the sky, and quickly narrowed her eyes as the Hoverbike's scanners began calibrating to Kinoko's unique energy signatures.

"One at a time." She said, engaging the throttle of the hoverbike and darting directly towards her position. Her hand reached to her right hip, and grasped a Seburo Model S Blaster pistol, which activated with a slight whine.

Closing the distance, Haruko leaned forward, on a collision course for Kinoko.

"Son of a... Interrupts our investigation and now she's going to pick a fight... She's more of a threat then these aliens.." The squad leader spoke to himself.

The Fireknaught would quickly take aim at the hoverbike as it kicked off into the sky. The Fireknaught were here to protect Ruula and no officer would be above the law, and at this time, this specific officer had broken two laws, if not more. No matter who they were, the Fireknaught looked at them no different than any other being, and currently this officer was more disruptive than the current aliens.

With his aims set and his module still in effect on his rifle, the Fireknaught would release a blast of energy from his rifle that carried four hundred volts; enough to kill most humanoids and shut down smaller vehicles. This shot was not aimed directly at the officer, as the Fireknaught was not interested in killing them, but instead to hit the hoverbike and disable it while knocking Haruko out.

Should the first shot miss, the Fireknaught would fire again, knowing the bike could not evade multiple shots, especially if they came from behind without notice. Peace would be upheld on Ruula and any outside force would know that their are rules and laws that will be enforced when on Ruula, no matter who they are.

Even with this, the Fireknaught was still also keeping track of the alien with the super powers. A quick thought hit the Fireknaughts mind, thinking that maybe the alien would be considerate to talks when they seen the Fireknaught shoot down the bike. At the same time, the Fireknaught was aware of his decision.

After taking his shots at the bike, the squad leader spoke, "Prepare reinforcements for immediate dispatch. I will also need a level IV ground transport."

Kinoko's Reconnoiter would light up like a Christmas tree as it notified her of five nearby sources of power, four of which were in motion. "Huh?!" She immediately utilized her Rapid Movement to descend to the ground level, leaving an Afterimage in her place still flying as the first bolt shot into and through it.

Once she was firmly on the ground, she stood from her ready motion and punched a fist into her opposite open palm. "So much for the survey, hostiles already. I guess not every Ruulan is willing to give friendly tours." She took up a wary stance as her Reconnoiter started reading out descriptions for the Fireknaughts.

"At least they aren't more dangerous. I'd best see what they want first. Their shots may have been an accident, much as I doubt it." Kinoko would keep her distance from the Fireknaughts while setting her Reconnoiter to constantly track Haruko, making sure the woman did not curve around and avoid shots to come back down to the ground. She began speaking as well through the Reconnoiter's features. "Miso Force members, listen up! I have been engaged by hostile citizens and a law enforcement officer! Proceed with your surveys, but be wary of any hostiles you encounters! Remember, we do not initiate the fights, and when we defend ourselves, no planet defacing, including property destruction. No bystanders are to be hurt unless they purposefully involve themselves. Misokai out!"

She then focused her full attention on the Fireknaughts while her Reconnoiter kept track of Haruko's movements and actions.

The energy bolt seared upwards towards Haruko's bike, but impacted violently on an energy barrier surrounding the bike, the Nanoswarm defense shield absorbed and dissipated the energy bolt across a wide field, the energy arcing around the Officer and garnering her attention for a brief moment as she quickly engaged reverse thrust, passing through the afterimage.

Additional bolts struck the shields, and a red indicator flashed on the holographic readout detailing a near depletion in the energy fields.

The Officer had to respond, as she made a face she kicked the throttle of the Bike and engaged hover mode, dropping several hundred feed in altitude, bolts searing past her.

Extending her right hand, she clenched her fingers into a fist, and jerked her right arm out, her mind wrapping around the weapon and attempting to rip it from the Firenaught's grasp with a powerful force, hundreds of pounds of force applied to the weapon to tear it from the Firenaught in an instant. At that moment Haruko's mind wirelessly linked with the Type 303 Powered exoskeleton resting in the Cargo bay of the GXP Cruiser.

It's hydraulics hissed and servos whined as the suit came to life, grabbing the 60mm autocannon, an audible clack denoted a round had been chambered.

"Status report." Haruko's Cybercomm chimed, as the Galaxy Police supervisor radioed in. "I'm meeting increased resistance from the Firenaught Federation." She replied, ducking the Hoverbike behind several buildings to put cover between her and the Firenaughts.

"With this much local resistance I won't be able to handle the Unauthorized Contacts." Haruko replied. "Recommend Peacekeepers pacify the Firenaughts."

She growled and kicked the Hoverbike back into gear, while the Seina's engines began to kick on, thruster wash blowing out in all directions as the ship began to lift off, the Type 303 Powered Exoskeleton keeping it's weapons trained on the Firenaught, but not opening fire.

"Get out of there, Haruko, we can't help Ruula if they don't want our help, Tatsuo out."

Banking hard, Haruko bobbed and weaved among buildings, she would catch the ship when it reached sufficient altitude, and return to submit her report.

"Damn it.." The squad leader mumbled as his helm was alerting him to a telepathic based energy coming from the officer.

The officer could feel the pull on his rifle, "Knock her down!", ordering his men to fire as he felt the tug. The officer would not find an escape so easy as the other two Fireknaughts released well placed shots on the hoverbike. While the female was focusing her telepathic abilities on the one Fireknaught, it left the other two free to take a shot from their hidden positions. When the officer was willing to engage the aliens with force from the beginning, the Fireknaught knew she was too aggressive, and when she was willing to directly attack the alien and put Ruulan lives at risk, she needed to learn that innocent lives are at risk, not just casualties.

The squad leader would look towards the alien from the Miso Force, "Do not think we want to harm you... we were once outsiders to this planet, but their hearts were open and we have worked together for some time. The Fireknaught Federation just wants to know who you are and why such powerful beings are here. We know you are non-aggressive simply for the fact we watched you fraternize with that young lady earlier and that you have not harmed this planet... If you don't mind, what is your name?"

The squad leader would attempt to deal with Misokai while the other two engaged the officer, "If we can get her off that bike, we will arrest her and take her to the court of law, where we would be glad to have you stand witness to their unprofessional behavior."

With such, there was little more the Fireknaughts could do. On the plus side, Nimbasa was still in peace and nobody was dead. No matter what had happened, the Fireknaughts obtained their goal and at least had one person they needed to talk to here. If the Fireknaught's shots hit the bike, the two would be quickly on the scene to arrest the officer, even if they had to use their weaponry to finish knocking her out.

Siena and Gambit gave curious glances towards the new arrival. While Gambit studied Margriet for what kind of personality she gave off, Siena studied Radegast to figure out what personality she really was. Gambit took care to notice how tidy she kept herself, noting that Margriet held herself in high prestige and jumping to the conclusion that she may have some worth to her name. Siena noticed the slight stiffness in Radgeast's body language upon laying eyes on his sister before going back to his regular calm demeanor. It signified to the Shaymin that Radegast and Margriet did not get along, although it wasn't sure how that translated in terms of quantifiable hate. But Margriet signified she was only here to talk, not battle, so that at least gave a hint.

"Friend of his?" Gambit questioned, hovering closer to Siena while the two bickered back and forth.

"I'd say relative. Definitely older," Siena said, "She's got that snarky older sibling tone...you know the one."

"I...actually don't," Gambit shrugged his shoulders, "I'm an only child."

This was news to Siena, who turned to the Togetic, intrigued, "You're an only child?"

Gambit nodded, "Yeah, I never had a sister to look up to or a brother to look down upon. Just my mom and my dad." He turned back to look at the two of them, noticing that Margriet had produced a lighter, "I can't believe you didn't know."

"Well...I don't know," Siena countered, "You never talk about them."

"Yeah..." was where he left the conversation drop, especially when his eyes widened in amazement at the Raikou's impressive coat, "Wow, that's cool! Never thought I'd see a Raikou today!"

"Perks of the job," Siena shrugged. Being a pretty rare creature itself, the Shaymin was used to the ooohs and the aaahs wherever the journey sent it. It humbled the experience. But Siena didn't strive to be noted as just a rare Pokemon. Siena strive to be noted as a difference maker...someone who remained active and actually performed their task effectively and changed the world for the better. It was one of the reasons why Siena left the home known to it and joined the Crimson Guild.

Seeing things from a similar perspective, the Shaymin respected the Raikou's own fame in Ruula, but would hope that it was grateful for it's existence as a legendary beast.

A small beam of light erupted from the northeast corner of Nimbasa City. Presumably, some action was going on very close to the sport stadiums of Nimbasa City, completely on the opposite side of their location. Their destination wouldn't cross paths with it either. Perhaps it was worth checking out, but for now Team Vitality had to remain focused. They had to meet up with Dee and the members of Team Volt. They had to bring Sabre in for arrest. Unless that fight was truly life threatening, it wasn't worth checking out.

Still, they kept their distant eye on the scene and waited for further developments while they progressed on their own mission.

Siena and Gambit led the way to the building marked by Lumi and Skyball. They both knew the place would likely be abandoned. Those two were the best at scouting an area and picking the most advantageous spot to bunker down if need be. They trusted the mark. As they walked among the crowd of people, they began to consider their next step.

"So what happens after we get Sandslash to the rendezvous point?" Gambit asked, "Do we continue this mission or do we escort Sabre back with Team Volt?"

Siena thought for a moment, "Well, our cover's blown, so there'd be no point spying from a distance. At the same time," he turned to Elder and the teen, "You guys have painted a bigger target on your backs than ever before. The moment Zane hears that the same person that stopped his conquest before is halting his progress now, he's going to be coming for you guys. And not just you and your Pokemon, but your friends, your family. He will exploit every weakness and he will beat you down with it."

Siena let that warning hang in the air as the conversation went back to Gambit, "So for right now, I'd feel safe if we went back to Crimson and updated him on the situation personally. The Psychic Rebellion's not going to gun for him with all these people around. He's safe so long as he's in Nimbasa. Hopefully by the time they're done with business here, we've got a game plan and will know what to do. What the-" Siena stopped as it rounded the corner, the full sight of the building coming into view.

It wasn't impressive looking in design, unlike the rest of the architecture around them, but it certainly was huge. Square and grayscale, it seemed to stand out even more so among the pretty colors around them. But that's not what caught the Shaymin's eye. In front of the building was a fairly decent cluster of Pokemon...four of them. An Umbreon seemed to be giving a distasteful glare towards the Altaria while a Lucario and a Donphan watched, tension quivering in their eyes. What was going on here?
