Title: Top Coordinator / Ex-Champion of Sinnoh (Denied the title)
One of the most well-known trainers in all of Sinnoh, and even in other regions. She not only beat the Sinnoh champ, but she also saved the world from distortion by subduing Giratina and eradicating Team Galactic. Despite defeating the champion, she didn't want the title of Champion, finding it more fun to just explore and adventure with her party. She spends a lot of her time at the Battle Hall in the Battle Frontier or at contests in Hearthome.
Her story started in Twinleaf Town when she and her friend Barry tried to run to Sandgem town to see Prof. Rowan. He just so happened to show up at that moment, having finished an inspection of Lake Verity with Lucas. After a brief discussion, Hikari was given a Piplup, and Barry a Turtwig. After mulling it over some, Hikari had decided to go and see the rest of Sinnoh. Encouraged by Johanna, her mother, she left to take this journey. It had seemed her friend had the same idea and so they traveled the Region battling each other from time to time while catching and training Pokemon.
After collecting the Coal Badge from Roark, Hikari went back to Jubilife to go refresh her mind at the Trainer's School again. This was her first run-in with Team Galactic, a syndicate of space-suit wearing freaks with green hair. She had heard of them before in commercials about finding new energy sources. She would have thought nothing of them if it weren't for their harassing of Prof. Rowan and Lucas. Running to their aide, her and Lucas quickly wiped the two goons and off they ran.
On her way to Eterna City, she would run into an admin of this notorious team, Mars. Hikari easily trounced her and forced Team Galactic to bail out of the Windworks. It was in Eterna city that she crossed paths with a boy named James who showed her around the place. The two became fast friends. However, James was clear in telling Hikari to stay clear of the Galactic building at the back of town. Telling her that he saw them steal people's Pokemon who go near it. As he did not have a Pokemon of his own at the time, he couldn't charge the place himself. Hikari volunteered to save the Pokemon instead on his behalf. Inside, she met a curious man by the name of Looker who stated he was from the International Police and was undercover. "Another weirdo" was all that was thought as Hikari fought her way to the top to find Jupiter, another admin. After defeating her and ensuring Team Galactic's retreat, she nabbed the gym badge and moved on to gather the rest.
She wouldn't run into these goons again until Veilstone, where their HQ was. After a short confrontation and an inspection of the HQ, finding no leads, Hikari left to continue her adventure. She would encounter these goons again when they committed an act of terrorism at the Safari Zone. After that, she would encounter them many more times along her journey.
During her escapade with the Galactic Bomb, she had run into a woman dressed in black who introduced herself as Cynthia. She gave Hikari some medicine and a task of delivering something to her grandmother in a town to the north called Celestic Town. After doing what was instructed, she entered the cave in the center of town to see the drawings spoken of by the elder. It was there that she met a man with blue hair and a large G on his outfit. He introduced himself as Cyrus and went on about an imperfect world and how he intends to change it. Being an obstacle in his path he attempts to take down Hikari but she manages a victory causing the man to vacate.
From Cyrus' speech, Hikari could glean that they planned to take the Pokemon from each of the lakes around Sinnoh. Unable to be in three places at once, she was at a loss of what to do. She just so happened to run into Lucas and Barry and told them the situation. After devising a plan, the three set out. Hikari went to Lake Valor only to hear an explosion come from there. She doubled her efforts to get there only to find the water blown out of the lake and the Pokemon living in it strewn about, dead or otherwise. This sickened her, and with a fury she ran into the center of the lake and thrashed the admin Saturn's team. She was sadly too late and they had already gotten what they came for.
Panicking, she flew to the other two lakes to find similar stories from her friends. They were too late to save the Pokemon. This sparked her to retry the HQ in an attempt to save the trio. She did manage to get inside this time thanks to one of the goon's butter fingers. She had already learned of their plans from a prior interaction but refused to believe it, until she heard the speech and how many riled behind the idea. She just couldn't believe it.
As she made her way to the lab, she defeated Saturn once more and freed the trio from the lakes. It was there that she learned the purpose of all this and Cyrus's true destination. Spear Pillar. The location where it is once said that time and space were created by Arceus. Rushing there herself, barreling through an onslaught of Galactic goons, she reaches the top but it set upon by Mars and Jupiter at the same time. By this point, Hikari had a powerful team, but she couldn't take on both of them at once. Her friend Barry came at that moment to support her in battle. With his help, they beat back the admins, but it was too late.
The colossal legends, the lords of both Time and Space stood before them but bound by a mysterious red chain. While Cyrus was gloating, some...thing appeared out of the ground and grabbed him, dragging him into a blackened void. The longer the void existed, the more distorted the world around Hikari became and the more panicked and agitated the Legendary pair became as well. Mysteriously, Cynthia had shown up again. After some discussion, Hikari entered the void into a strange land full of confusing twists and unnatural landscape and physics. At the end she found Cyrus once more. After a heated exchange of ideals a final battle ensued.
Cyrus, unlike the first time, was no pushover here. He fought with everything he had and even made Hikari worry that she might lose. After an arduous fight, Hikari came out on top and Cyrus simply escaped. Wondering why such a man would run, Hikari turned around to find a towering monstrosity staring down at her. The beast who was responsible for the distortion and the obvious owner of the current dimension stood before her. Thinking fast, Hikari managed to hide from the creature. It simply retreated to the furthest point in the distorted plane, guarding the exit. It was at this time Cynthia came by. Not questioning why she came in with Hikari or even how she got to Spear Pillar in the first place, Hikari asked her about what she saw.
Cynthia filled her in with what little was known about this creature, Giratina, who represented antimatter. Cynthia kindly healed Hikari's team and stood back, telling her to keep going until the end. Upon reaching said end, there stood this Giratina at the end of a walkway. With nowhere else to go but forward, Hikari challenged the beast to a battle to which she thankfully came out on top. Being defeated, the Pokemon fled, leaving a portal to the outside world through which the unlikely pair left.
With that momentous story behind her, Hikari finally had time to focus on what she wanted to do, which was to get the rest of the badges and take on the league. Doing just that, she swiped Volkner's badge and made her way there. After an easy climb to the top, with nobody posing much of a threat to her, she reached the champion's room to find a familiar face, Cynthia.
After a proper introduction, Hikari learned the woman's name was Shirona but went by Cynthia for a reason she didn't feel like explaining. The two soon clashed in a fierce battle. After some time, there emerged a victor. As Cynthia's signature Garchomp fell to the ground, Hikari gave her Pachirisu a high five/tail. Before Cynthia could say anything, Hikari told her upfront that she did not want the title of Champion. She just wanted to have an adventure, and this was on her list of things to do. Taking a commemorative ribbon instead, as proof of having defeated the champion, Hikari set off on a new adventure through Sinnoh, with her trusty partners close by.
Hikari captured both Dialga and Palkia atop Spear Pillar after finding both the Lustrous orb and the Adamant Orb. The orbs lead her up to Spear Pillar where the legendary pair appeared to be waiting for her, grateful for having been saved from their previous fate of being forced to destroy the world. What ensued was an honest battle that ended in the capture of both legends.
Hikari had entered into the Battle Frontier and enjoyed the various events within it, but stuck to the Battle Hall quite a bit, enjoying the shows that often occurred. She also enjoyed being on a stage, but not in the egotistical sense. She just loved how it felt to perform. It soon became her second favourite place, only beaten by the Contest Hall in Hearthome. After she defeated Cynthia, the first thing she did was follow her mother's footsteps and become a Top Coordinator. Hikari did manage to obtain a ribbon in all forms of contest, and even the Ribbon Cup, giving her the well deserved title of Top Coordinator. She's even been invited as a judge for a number of contests before. Due to her new title, she went and had special pokeballs commissioned for each of her Pokemon to fit them.
Hikari later explored Stark Mountain with a man named Buck. Buck had told Hikari that a group of weird people in space suits were searching the mountain. Hikari knew exactly who he was talking about, Team Galactic again. They traversed the inside of the mountain and removed the threat posed by Mars and Jupiter for the third time. Seeing as it was a likely target, Buck went to grab the Magma Stone but was interrupted by a large Pokemon, Heatran, dropping from the ceiling. With a fierce malice in it's eyes, it held no qualms about defending it's treasure to the last. Buck had run away by this point, with the stone, but Hikari stayed. Impressed by her boldness, the Heatran battled her and was captured in the end. He now is among Hikari's "High Class" team. Later, Buck was encouraged to return the stone in case there were other Heatran that would cause the mountain to erupt.
Hikari was flying around on her Staraptor for fun one day when she saw a peculiar sight. A small fox flying through the air like a bird. Curious, she followed it to a place where countless flowers bloomed, much like in Floaroma Town. Before she landed, she admired the flowers' beauty. She couldn't find the fox however, instead finding what looked something like Swinub but white and with greenery on its back. When she landed, she must have spooked the little guy because it turned around and attacked her. After a quick battle thanks to the Staraptor, the Shaymin was caught and added to the team. While the Shaymin was sad not being around it's flowers all day and refused to be friends with Hikari, they eventually bonded over time. Hikari does buy flowers for the Shaymin now and again.
Ability:
- Hikari's voice cheering them on is enough to give any member of her team a substantial boost (+2) in all of their stat parameters without the need of stat raising skills, this includes ally's Pokemon in double battles as well. This ability can only be applied for 4 turns and never on the same Pokemon twice in one battle. After the effect ends, the Pokemon's stats are returned to neutral regardless of status moves used in either positive or negative fashion. This buff cannot be dispelled but it can be copied or stolen.
