Introduction
All of the sudden creatures start appearing around you, chasing you and taunting you , "A Tasty Human, a TASTY HUMAN!!"
You run for your life, and you keep running, time does not exist in this place. You will spend an eternity running from these creatures, if you are killed you will just pull yourself back together...over and over again...feeling the pain of each death as vividly as the first.
Unless... There is only one way out of the Abyss and that is to make a contract with one of the demon creatures, then you with both be freed back into the real world, for a time. Your contract will have a time limit...once your contract is up, your creature will drag you back to the Abyss and kill you itself...over and over again. Will you accept the contract? Is it worth going back somewhere you don't remember? Just to be dragged back down to the darkness...?
The moment you touch your creature and form the contract you feel a searing pain in the middle of your back, as if a knife has been driven through your spine. Your eyes open wide and your head is thrown back in agony, and you feel it. A weight on your back, and mirrors appear all around you. You claw at your back to see a shadow girl digging her claws in your back, try as you might she is only a shadow. All you can do is watch. She whispers into your ear as she dissolves, "It is going to tear you bit by bit," you hear the cackles from the invisible being, "Its going to rip you apart and watch your blood drain to the ground," she reappears before you. "And then you will be mine forever!"
You wake once more, this time in the real world. Where the girl clawed your back you have a black symbol signifying the contract. You're creature lands beside you. You have fallen into the home of the Keeper of the Door. She greets you and explains, "This is more than likely not your time. The people you love are long gone, though it may have been hours or days for you in there," She points to the black door, "It has been years out here. You have come here because you have made a contract correct? Well, you see what you have done is illegal! I must turn you in now or...you earn your way out of the Abyss and work for me...
The Story So Far... Write a Post » as written by 10 authors
You roll through the door and last in the middle of a glowing blue circle. A man with bunny ears taps his staff to the ground sealing the circle.
Try as you might you cannot move. A young girl walks over to you, a glowing black flame swirls around her in a circle. She speaks to you in calm, yet eerie voice. "Hello I am the Keeper if this door." she raised her hand and your back begins to burn, you scream in agony, the creature using your body screams in your head. She announces, "You have made a contract."
The prince steps toward you and hits you square in the chest, you fall back and your creature sprawls to the floor behind you released from your body, still locked in the circle. It cannot move either.
The girl begins to speak again, "That pain you felt...you will feel it while that creature uses your body." She waves her hands in the air and the creature dissolves, something new appears on your person.
The prince lifts the circle with a tap on the ground, it turns parallel with your body, and you are lifted from the ground. The circle passes through you and you feel a surge of energy and fall to the floor.
"Your creatures powers have been sealed inside of you, your creature has been sealed in an artifact. You can now release your creature without its powers, and it can maintain its shape in this world."
The flames beneath the girl flare up, and a black unicorn stands before you. She speaks again,"You have two choices. You can join me, or I will cast you back into the Abyss," the unicorn stomps its feet on the ground and a black goo forms before you and you slowly start sinking in...
The choice is clear, and you grip her hand. The unicorn stomps again and the goo disperses.
"Welcome to the Mansion," the prince bows
"Please join us for tea," the unicorn returns to the girls shadow which has returned to normal, as she leads you out of the room.

The Prince swung open the door for The Keeper, pulling a black door similar to the door into the Abyss, but reveals a grand hall instead. A grand staircase is parted by a beautiful glass chandelier. He turns to the newcomer, "Please go select a room, the others should be about the mansion. We will brief you on your first assignment soon," he glanced up at a giant silent clock that has been stuck on the 11:59 position for 100 years, and a frown donned his face as he turned to walk behind The Keeper, out of the room.
"No, you like being alone ya freak, your weird and helpless and thats why it was easy to get you to agree to our little contract. Your weak, and the weak like to be alone." Red's temper started to grow inside her, she hated it when people called her weak and useless, and Daemon like to call that because he liked her when she was angry. She felt like slapping him across the face but, as usual, she hid her feelings behind a smile. "I may be weak but you still live me right." she said, looking hard into his crystal white eyes. He grunted and looked at the ceiling. Red knew that would shut him up a least a little while, he hated admitting he and Red actually had a close relationship, because to him, admitting that would be the equivalent to the worst torture you could think of. "The taste of blood on my fingers and screams of pain are the only things i love, girly" He said, grinning madly before standing up and moving over to the window sill. Red shrugged and retied the skirt around her waist before walking out of the room and leaving Daemon be. "I wonder who else is here?" she said to herself as she peeked out from behind the wall that was hiding her new room.
She then chuckled quietly, tilting her head and trying to think back at him. The crea- Gorine bobbed his head up and down. Noxi then. Well formalities are kind of odd, considering I'm going to be dragging you off sometime in the latter future. But hey, whatever. Can we sleep now? I'm beat. Noxi grinned, shaking her head in disbelief. "You're a weirdo, Reed. Can I call you that?" She mumbled, patting him on the neck. Yeah well, look at you already. And whatever you want is fine. Though only you can use such a name. Seriously though, find a room already. And with that, he bounded forward once more.
The two were in an empty hallway, thank goodness. I couldn't take running into the other creeps that are supposedly around. Contract. Bleh. and they took a turn, coming to a narrow staircase. Noxi and Reed ascended easily, though there were some troubling creaking sounds, and Knox almost fell if not for Gorine catching her on his muzzle and pushing her back up. There was a tiny hallway with a door at the end, and the two immediately approached it. Though, because it was so narrow all the way up, Noxi led with Reed behind. She turned the doorknob, paying no attention to details, and her eyes narrowed by the sudden burst of sunlight through a window.
The girl scratched her head, stepping in and making room for Reed who immediately went to check out the bed. "So creepy doll-face said that you had a second form, y'know, for around other mortals?" Reed turned to her, tilting his head and nodding. It almost looked as if he were smiling. I have many forms, little contractor. Primarily it is the one I am in currently. The others are that of fog, ears, a necklace, and also a human form. The fem just listened quietly, leaning against the wall with her hands behind her back. But she froze when he said human form. "H-human form? I can't really... picture you being a human...." She trailed off lightly, getting up from her position and wandering over to the bed as well, hopping onto it and enjoying the soft yet firm mattress. She took this time to finally look around, noting the details.
The room was pretty mellow; there was a carpet around the bed and windows, but the rest was a rich red and brown mahogany flooring. The carpet was a dull grey, the walls a faint gold and cream. It seemed like they were in some sort of attic though, with the roof angles and the windows. "It's perfect, I think. But seriously, I don't know how you and I are going to fit on that b-" The girl was cut off by Reed once more. Human form, remember little contractor~ Noxi froze yet again, a look of comical horror on her face. "What, you mean you're going to be sleeping with me as-as, what!?" She groaned, slapping her hand to her forehead and dragging it down her face. Well I'm certainly not sleeping on that cold floor. It's not good for my back, you know. She simply rolled her eyes with a chuckle. "Fine, but I'm watching you." Reed flashed her a smirk We'll see. Was all he said, and with that, Knox shifted to one of the corners of the bed while he made himself comfortable on the mattress, and continued to gaze about her room. "We do have to go down for tea, though. I don't think I want to. Creepy Doll-Face and Bunnicula probably poisoned the bloody stuff. I just got back from the dead, I don't plan on going back so soon!!" She whined with slight dramatics, and leaned against the wooden post of the bed.

"Are you going to sit like that all day? You're so dreadfully boring when you get like this." Cho whined, pacing around Amaya like a vulture waiting for the perfect time to snatch her attention.
Amaya, like every day at this time, was taking a moment to meditate and breath. She liked the times when it felt as if there were no time. Or at least, when there was no Cho. Sitting on the floor, she sat back on her ankles, knees folded, and with the straightest posture. Her hands rested in her lap, and her face was solid and empty. She sat in the front hall, near the entrance doors, so she could double this time as people watching even if she spent the majority of the time with her eyes closed. It was interesting to see the sort of people (and creatures, for that matter) came passing by. It seemed as though her and Cho were the only ones who had yet to form any sort of close bond. Amaya was indifferent, Cho thought Amaya insufferable. None the less, Cho could never wander far from her. Maybe that was the part that made this life so insufferable to her. Never the less, it is what it is.
Cho, disgruntled and impatient that she had yet to get any sort of reaction out of Amaya what so ever, snorted in annoyance.
"You know, it's rude to ignore people when they are talking to you!" Cho continued, itching to get something out of her.
Hoping a response would give her a few moments uninterrupted, Amaya peaked an eye open. "It is also rude to interrupt some when they clearly do not wish to talk." Amaya finally spoke, her tone neither joking nor purposefully mean. It was, and she was, indifferent.
"You have some nerve, you know! I don't know how I put up with such disrespect! That's it, I'm leaving."
"You won't get far, Cho. You never do."
This angered Cho further, she scoffed at it. Stuttering at the unfortunate truth of what Amaya had said, Cho continued her tirade. Stomping up the stairs, she fumed and grumbled to herself, passing a flying Bae. Reaching the top of the stairs, she continued down the hall, continuing to grumble, only letting her anger fester. Seeing Red peaking out of the a wall and Bae, the one who had passed her on the stairs, she addressed them.
"If you're looking for someone to talk to, it better not be that princess down the stairs. Oh no, she'll bite your head off for trying!!"
She was exaggerating, of course, but in her mind that is how the incident went down. Although she had no reason to talk to them, she felt like being spiteful. It was also a bit of a habit of hers to wander off and talk to the other people without Amaya. After all, they didn't get along. She was always a bit of a drama queen, Cho was. But being even down this hallway made her feel as if she had strayed too far from Amaya and she was rethinking going back. But first, she was going to make up some excuse for absolutely having to. Not that Amaya would believe it.
Amaya continued to sit where she was, unaware of Cho's actions and not really caring either way. Really, she was just happy for the quiet. Cho's constant whining wore even the most patient of people's nerves down. Now she just had to wait for her to come back, as she always did.
"And why not?"
"Because you know i hate being called by my first name."
"But why?"
"I just hate being called that okay."
In truth, Red had no idea why she hated being called by her first name, she just did. She woke up in the abyss hating that name and always has since. Daemon rolled his eye and transformed into a skin tight gold band that wrapped around her neck, his secondary form. "Well, if your going to stay out and watch people arrive, i might as well do the same." he whispered, making Red giggle a little at the vibrations he caused when he talked that tickled her neck.
Red's head shot up as she was yelled at by the winged girl that had spotted her, "I-i'm fine." Red stuttered and backed away a little bit. "Smooooooooth Red, you really made them respect you now."
"Shut up Daemon, and stop talking, it tickles." she mumbled as she watched the girl turn around and walk back in the direction she came from.
In the Door chamber of the Keeper's mansion, the giant silent clock began to tick. A loud creaking sound groaned and then the minute hand slid forward to come at a rest parallel to its shorter counterpart. A bell began to ring ponderously, sending a resonating sound through the air.
Gwyn's consciousness blurred in an out. As he did, he heard the tolling of a bell softly growing louder and louder in his ears. 12 strikes. Then nothing. He was in the Abyss. He was moving. His demon was with him and then apart.
Gwyn opened his eyes. He realized that the pain had stopped and that he must have lost consciousness. He looked around, lost for a moment. "Where-?"
"The Keeper of the Door's mansion," an amused voice whispered in his head. "It might take a little while for your memories to clear up. Don't worry. I'll explain it to you again if need be." Gwyn shook his head wordlessly. The previous events were like a blur in his mind. Abyss, contract, Keeper. His demon slipped away from him both mentally and physically and then a magnificent animal was standing beside him. She was like a wolf, but her ears were pointed and longer than what would be considered usual and her long fur spread out. "Come choose your sleeping quarters and then show me around. I feel like seeing who else is around here."
Gwyn nodded and reached up to his hood. His hands froze halfway and then dropped down to his sides again. "Let's go."
Cho, finding little to no amusement in a girl sputtering not even five words to her and talking to necklaces, made her way back down the stairs. She found Amaya right as she had left her. Cho sighed, her irritation now curbed with boredom. Her moods were so flighty, it was hard to tell what she was really feeling, that is, if demons really did feel things. Amaya didn't even open her eyes to let out a quiet, "Welcome back."
Cho rolled her eyes and plopped down beside her on the floor. "Nothing better to do," she said, passing it off and letting out a long groan afterwords, signifying her complaints. She perked up, however, when the doors began to open. This was the second time today a new person had come through, and Cho was always interested in the new people. Especially the males. Using her wings to lift her back up to her feet in a split second, she starred intently at the door. Amaya was vaguely interested, but compared to Cho, there was barely any. She did, however, open her eyes and wait for the next one to inevitably rush up the stairs without taking notice of her, or to be greeted to death by Cho. This was the norm around here.
And right on queue, Cho flew at Gwyn as soon as he reached the inside of the mansion. He had a sort of...was it a wolf? Either way, it was most certainly his creature. Amaya wondered how his creature would react to Cho being so up close and personal without much introduction.
"Hi there," Cho said slowly, starring intently at the new male. "Looks like someone needs a tour guide, huh? My names Cho." She laughed smugly, her intent more than obvious. Amaya scowled, not sure how to interrupt the situation properly. Or even if she had to. I mean, she was her creature after all. Was it really her responsibility?
"Cho, please stop. You're going to scare him more than anything." Amaya said bluntly, a little embarrassed that she had to clean up what ever Cho decided to or not to do.

So many...shadows...
Sly unconsciously rubbed at his arm, where a shadow of a girl etched the binding terms of agreement to his Demon. A memory. One of his only. The said Demon, not one to be ignored, shifted from its ghost-like form into a snake form, the reptilian form composed of shadow mass and hellfire. The snake wrapped itself around Sly's leg, climbing up until it wrapped around his neck. Remember, the form 'said', mouth never moving; the voice as cold as ice, yet burnt like fire. Remember our Contract. The snake began to constrict the throat.
In a fraction of a second, the snake form was sliced in half. Sly had brought his palm up underneath the snake, releasing a catch to a hidden blade that cut into the shadow and missed a kiss on his own mortal flesh. He had then made quick work of the being, which "bled" black mist for a few moments, before the form seeped into the back of Sly, imprinting the tattoo of a Rorschach test. Between grit teeth, Sly hissed back in pain. "Yes. Do not forget our Contract, Infernus."
With that, and the physical bond between hellbound soul and immortal Demon made, Sly made his way out of his 'room', closing the door shut. Perhaps he would learn the mystery of the door later. Looking down the hall, he saw as a male and a wolf--Immortal, it seemed, by nature--entered a room. Curious, he walked down to the door, standing before the doorway to get a glance of the room. Of course. The room was furnished, and looked quite nice. He gave a small 'hmph', before stating, in a non-humorous limerick . "Damned are they for whom toll the bells | No euphoria to be found for souls from hell."
After the male left the room, wolf in tow, Sly could glimpse the room better, and saw that the true owner sat on the floor, meditating...or, at least, attempted to. It seemed that she had a demon of her own to deal with. Cho. Infernus gave a salutation to its kin, its only proof of existance a slight mist from Sly, as if his black trenchcoat was steaming with a black vapor.
But the woman...she looked so...
"...familiar..." He muttered, entering the room without permission nor care thereof. He approached the woman, but a few feet away. He examined her for a moment, before asking, "Do I...know you?"

He saw one man come from beyond a door. He was hooded. He lit lightly behind the man. It came beside him. "What is your name?" he asked. He carefully watched his reaction.
Arian suddenly sighed and flicked her tail impatiently. "Go get your room first, boy and then flirt. I want to look around." She grabbed Gwyn's arm with her teeth gently and tugged him away. He stumbled slightly from the unexpected pull and his free hand automatically reached up to stop his hood from falling down.
Gwyn sighed and waved at Ayama and Cho. "Um, I'll be right back..."
Arian dragged him several more steps before she paused and let him go to sniff around a narrow staircase leading down. "I wonder if we can find anything down here."
"Can't I just get one of the rooms around here?" Gwyn waved, taking in the surrounding hallway.
"Well, you might find something better down here," Arian shrugged. "Now come on. Don't say you aren't as interested as I am in exploring where this leads." She led the way down to what seemed at first was an empty hallway. With doors. Gwyn followed the wolf in her trot around to inspect the area with a critical eye.
Edit to respond to lokisma: Gwyn turned as a brush of wind signaled the arrival of something from above. He tapped the pommel of a sheathed sword with a finger. "My name? I am Gwyn."
Noxi opened the door carefully, then walked out into the very short hallway to the narrow steps. Gorine nudged her impatiently, wanting to get the job done so he could finally sleep after this exhausting experience. She snorted quietly, stepping indignantly down the steps.... Only to misstep on one of the boards and go tumbling forward. Reed let out a hiss of breath, watching as his Little Contractor fell, letting her fall this time. Noxi fell straight onto a passer-by in a hood, causing them to both tumble along for about two feet before coming to a stop. She groaned, rubbing her head and trying to get up off of him.
Nice one little Knox. I now understand why you have that nickname. You should watch where you're stepping. I can't catch you all the time, you know. Reed's large canines poking out of his mouth just a bit in amusement, hopping down the steps easily, his tail swishing along the ground, the long extends streaming just a bit behind. His ear flicked casually as he looked over to them, then gave a quiet growl as he realized she had landed right onto a boy. And that his demon was much like Reed himself.

"...Dodado, have you been stairing at me the whole time I was asleep?" Yes, the dark figure replyed. "...Any particular reason why?" ...I was bored...
Then after another stairing sesion, "...That...is very creepy, but I'm to hungry to care." So-So replyed bluntly. You are a very indifferent person...how boring Dodoro then formed into a small silver crown on So-So's head with a frustraited sigh. Let's just go.
He stood up, stretched, then opened his door and walked down the stairs. Then a sudden realization dawned on him, "I have no idea where I'm going..." ...This is going to be a long, long contract...
Suddenly, his right hand left Noxi's shoulder to reach up to his head. When it reached his hair and not the hood, he winced and the hand went to cover his right eye. It was an empty socket and a scar crossed over the lid. Gwyn glanced around anxiously and realized that two others would've seen it. The one who had asked his name and the girl now in front of him. He turned to look at her again, waiting for the surprise and disgust at the disfigurement.
Knox rubbed the back of her head sheepishly, assisting him with pulling his hood back up, realizing he probably didn't want to show the scar off and also because he was kind of preoccupied with still holding her up. With that, she sat back so he wouldn't have to strain to hold her up with one hand, even if she was light. She gave a quiet whistle, and Reed spat at the other guy once more, almost glaring daggers into him as he sat in front of his Little Contractor and the guy who had the misfortune of being rammed into. "That's R- Gorine, and I'm Noxi, by the way. But my nickie is Knox. As you can probably guess already." She chuckled with that same sheepishness, yet still on his lap. She slapped her forehead, shifting off of him and landing onto the floor softly. "This hallway is fairly empty. I got pretty good sleeping quarters." The fem's voice was fairly quiet, still embarrassed by their little clash, trying to make small talk or something.

The fem chuckled quietly, sticking her tongue out just a fraction for effect. "You know, I was headed for some kind of tea party thing with Creepy Doll-Face and Bunnicula. Like I said though, sort of a tea party. I was planning on making a mad dash and grab some random item off the table and make a life or death run for it back to this cozy little hallway." She allowed her head to lean to the side, propping it up with her hand as she watched the hooded boy.
Arian rubbed against Gwyn's legs like a cat, the epitome of innocence and elegance. "I'm sure we can lead you all to the Keeper's tea party. You will be able to find food there," she said, directing the last part specifically towards So-So.
