♦ INTRODUCTION ♦

It was the Goddess of Equipoise who created the three dimensions, Aurae, Inferno, and Earth. Aurae followed by Inferno were her first creations, but the powers of the angels and the demons were hard to balance on their own, so in order to maintain the separation of the worlds, the Earth was formed as a buffer between the two. At the height of her power, the Goddess maintained the barrier between worlds and kept all but the most powerful and high ranked angels and demons from venturing beyond their boundaries.

The Goddess kept balance amongst the dimensions for countless years, until thirst for power of a particular family in Aurae began to corrupt the once pure dimension. The corruption of the holy realm weakened the Goddess and the barriers broke down, opening rifts that allowed any angel or demon to venture to Earth. A war broke out as the opposing forces met, a battle between angels and demons in which some fought for power and others for peace.

Seeing that this war was tearing apart the worlds and knowing that she no longer had the power to carry on, the Goddess broke herself apart and placed her remaining power into creating two Primordiums – one embodying Aurae and one embodying Inferno. These two beings closed the rifts and set in place barriers that could only be broken in their death. The Goddess’s final words warned any who would try to destroy their own Primordium; if anyone of the same race destroys their representative Primordium, all of their kind will be destroyed.

To the victimized citizens of Earth, wracked with the destruction of a war not their own, the Goddess left them a warning prophecy and bid them prepare for the day their world would be threatened again: “From the mergence of the greatest powers of Aurae and Inferno would come a creature that would break down the barriers, draw together the Primordiums and bring the Earth to the brink of destruction. But this creature will be the only one capable of achieving Equipoise and restoring true balance.”

Thousands of years later, the Satan who rules Inferno and the once great Seraphim who ruled Aurae met on Earth, fell in love, and, against all laws of the worlds, conceived a child. Made up of components of both Aurae and Inferno, the child’s existence created a paradox that weakened the barriers and opened rifts once again. Unable to exist in either world, the child had to remain on Earth, unaware of what she was to protect her from those who would aim to destroy her and restore the barriers.

Now, nearly old enough to understand what she is, the child attends True Cross Academy, a school secretly dedicated to preparing to face the horrors of the prophecy. Angels and demons are already on the move, motivated by their own ends, the war between Aurae and Inferno threatens to begin again.

♦ SETTINGS ♦

♔ Aurae ♔

Upholding righteousness and duty, Aurae is a land of pristine order and a strictly aristocratic social structure. Order is strictly maintained by the overarching power of the Seraphim, a holy leader who is voted into power by a council of the eldest influential angels. The city sectors are populated by roads and small buildings, the majority being houses and gathering places as there is no need for commerce, are all built up with the same interweaving of gold decorated bricks. The roads are a collection of bleached cobblestones, smoothed by use over time. Night is unknown to Aurae, which is endlessly lit by an unchanging wispy white sky with no specific origin of light and only slight fluctuations to mark the time set aside for rest. The harsh whites are broken up only by the vibrant flowers grown in garden courtyards scattered generously throughout the realm.

♛ Inferno ♛

Despite its name’s reputation, Inferno is quite the opposite. There are nine circles of Hell that are more web-like in structure, the circles shooting out from a central realm where Satan resides. Three circles cluster around another central realm where a Prince resides. A loose hierarchy is in place where Satan is the ruler and is advised by the Three Princes. Although it was originally called Hell but after the war for unknown reasons their worlds name was changed to Inferno in hopes to relieve the tension that arose when one thought of Hell (Inferno). However because of the current Satan’s previous acts as Satan has led to opposing parties to gain favor and grow in number. There are those who wish to destroy Satan as well as his ideals but there are also the few who stand with Satan on his ideals of unifying the worlds.

✝ Earth: True Cross Academy, Fidel City ✝

The moderately sized city of Fidel is built around True Cross Academy, the northern district is more suburban and has parks, the malls and businesses are on the eastside and as you go further away from the school the area’s slowly turn to a more rural sense. It is currently the late fall and all of Cram school is taking the entrance exam to becoming an Exwire.

True Cross academy is overall a large school made up of three buildings. The main building being the school itself which makes up most of the size put together. It sports a Japanese theme exterior and interior design. One section of the school is dedicated to all of the clubs which is further divided into smaller sections for the smaller division, one of the more notable and large of the sections being the sports clubs. Of course the school has its own courts and indoor/outdoor swimming pool, track field and three gymnasiums.

The second largest building that is to the left of the Academy is the housing facility. As its name states, this building is specifically for those who chose to live on campus if they didn’t meet certain requirements to live at home (being too far, living alone(optional)) unless your parents thought it better to keep you on campus then at home.

And finally the last building which is also the smaller of the three; Cram school which is in some ways a bit rundown, mainly due to the fact that it being a cram school is just a front. The true reason behind this building is that it holds night classes for exorcists in trainings otherwise known as exwires.

♔ Angels ♔

Believing themselves the supreme good justice of the three worlds, the embodiment of goodness, they generally look down on humanity and demons with a sense of pride and superiority. The rankings of angels in Aurae are organized into a strict hierarchy. Upward mobility is often the leading life goal of many citizens. The classes can be ascended through proving one’s skills and loyalty in battle or in impressively fulfilling the duties of one’s current class. Classes are not inherited from parents, but it cannot be denied that those with well-known parents receive more attention and thusly gain faster recognition for their work. Ascension of class is dictated by the Seraphim either through personal observation or based on suggestions from archangels she trusts. The Seraphim is also able to strip angels of class and power as a disciplinary tool.
Rewards of gaining higher classes include the ability to make a pact with any form of creature to summon as a familiar, an increased number of wings, and greater capability to make a pact with a holy weapon to summon as desired.

{First Class} Powers: Members of this station are top advisors of the Seraphim, generals, mainly remaining in Aurae. As well as advising, Powers organize and command Archangels. They are rewarded with the option of having two pairs of wings. They can summon a familiar and up to three weapons. They also have the special ability to sense the presence of an individual angel at any distance as long as they are in the same realm, and can create temporary portals between Earth and Aurae at will. At close range they can keep tabs on up to ten angels, being aware of any injury they sustain. They are the fastest, strongest, and are privileged with knowledge the Seraphim keeps from others.

{Second Class} Principalities: Acting in a sense as captains, Principalities are responsible for creating military groups out of their selection of Archangels and leading missions to Earth. Their opinions and ideas are considered by the upper classes are valued, but it is unlikely they will address the Seraphim directly. They have a certain level of power to give orders, but large plans require approval. They are rewarded with larger wings and can summon a familiar and up to two different weapons. Beginning in close proximity, they are able to form a link with up to five angels and can then track their location and communicate orders. They fly faster than the lesser classes and have sharper sight to oversee battle.

{Third Class} Archangels: Archangels act as valued members of military, specially selected soldiers. They are not allowed to give orders unless the Principality dies on mission, but they are powerful enough to act on their own if necessary. No wing change is rewarded for this level, but they can summon a familiar and up to two different weapons. They are faster and stronger than common angels.

♛ Demons ♛

The king of Inferno, Satan is merely a title given to the current demon who rules over Inferno. The title can only be given to the “winner” of Eligendo (Latin for Tournament) by the Relic, the source of Satan’s power. Satan rules Inferno with an iron fist and is the first demon of such a high title to have loved an Angel and the Seraphim at that. Political ties have been shaky due to this scandalous act but none can truly go against the word of Satan. He acts as the guardian to the Relic making sure nothing bad happens to it and over all oversees all of Inferno.

{Demons;} Demons; spirits of evil, violence and darkness, all demons originate from Infernos and obey Satan. Though they originate from Infernos often times they will walk among the earth in human form or possess the body of another. Most demons hate Angels and devour the souls of those they possess over time therefore becoming stronger. But even in human form certain aspects of the human anatomy will be off. For example sharper canines, pointed ears or perhaps even a tail or small horns.

There are two types of demons, those that are told in story books and those that humans and Angels alike have called devils; Superior Demons. These demons are capable of a humanoid form and capable of intellectual thought unlike their savage brethren, lesser demons. Superior Demons have enough power to go to the human world though they have to have permission from Satan to do so. Superior Demons get around by passing through a gate in Satan’s Circle where the other end of the gate appears wherever they wish to go to, although there are a few places demons aren’t allowed to enter such as holy ground (i.e Churches)

There are three demons that every demon in Inferno simply could not know, The Three Princes. Also known as The Three Pillars of Hell, they are the next strongest Demons in the realm as well as candidates for the title of Satan. Each of them are of equal strength but each prince is different. They act as the overseer of Inferno with all Nine circles of Hell spilt between the three of them. Whichever circles the Prince watches over is part of their personalities or a weakness of sorts, each hold two traits of the Seven Sins most often associated with their Circles. Usually only one Demon Prince goes to the human world at a time though there have been a few instances when all three go to the human world but only during critical moments. The Demon Princes are the only demons aside form Satan who have their own gates to the human world and appear wherever they wish to go to however they must inform Satan of their leave though this rule is not always followed. However if a Prince were to leave Inferno they are often forced to limit the amount of spiritual power they are allowed access to. Meaning demons with strong spiritual power are told/forced to wear collars or some sort of accessory that unless broken, limits the amount of power they use. Mainly due to the fact that they often destroy things too quickly and it allows them to pass as human if they wish to or to even go under the radar of an angel.

There are also common demons who are Superior but do not hold flashy titles such as Prince or Satan. Under the jurisdiction of a Demon Prince they often have a single trait relating to the Circle of Hell they came from. They make up the army of a Demon Prince and must follow orders; not doing so can lead to death. There are usually two common demons who serve directly under a Prince acting as their body guards or personal servants.

{Lesser demons} don’t have the ability or the access to travel between the worlds. Lesser demons go to the human world via a summoning circle or if a Superior Demon brings them along. Animalistic in nature lesser demons think of nothing but causing havoc around themselves. They are often called upon as familiars by exorcists in the human world. However due to their destructive nature and being a demon from Inferno whoever summons them must be able to control them least they turn on their master.

✝ Exorcists ✝

Exorcists were created to prepare for the impending return of demons and spiritual creatures, as well as dealing with any who are strong enough to come through the barrier, but not all exorcists are only anti-demon, but also anti-angel. Religious sorts, anti-demon, pro-angel. So there is a tension between people who want to free the world of evil demons, and those who want to free the world from any kind of otherworldly interference. And being a school for exorcists in the end the chancellor of the school along with a few other high class exorcists have made sure that barriers are set in place to keep lesser demons from entering school grounds. Unfortunately the barrier doesn’t help much in preventing spiritual creatures with malevolent intent from surfacing within the school grounds.

Each exorcist specializes in the way they exorcise a demon/ spiritual creature and even fewer know of how to “exorcise angels”. The first title they are given before becoming an Exorcist, the individual begins as a Page, learning the most basic elements of exorcism and demonology. The next rank is an Exwire, a rank that is above a Page. To become an Exwire, a Page must pass the Exwire Authorization Exam. The exam consists of the Pages secretly being put to a test of defeating a demon by working together; the exam also tests which Meister a Page categorizes in. Exwires usually do menial jobs like cleaning a demon's cage, and helping to collect samples, etc. However, they still study Demonology.

Essentially the most basic qualification for any aspiring exorcist, the term meister refers to the particular combat skill(s) an exorcist possesses. While many choose to specialize in only one area of combat, it is possible to obtain a meister in more than one category. There are four categories of meister:

{Tamer:} Exorcists who can summon and control lesser demons/spiritual creatures to fight. These beings are called 'familiars '. In order to summon a familiar, a magic circle is needed; it can be drawn on the ground or on paper, or even tattooed onto the Exorcist's skin. The meister then draws their blood onto the magic circle and recites any words that come into mind. However, if the magic circle is erased or torn (on paper), it loses its effect and the familiar disappears. It has been noted that the talent to be a Tamer is rare, since sheer spiritual fortitude is needed to tame the being; natural talent is also essential. However, if the Tamer lacks confidence, the familiar will attack the meister. Tamers can summon more than one familiar at a time and multiple Tamers may summon a single powerful being.

{Knight:} A meister who uses a sword to fight. Meisters that have the title of "Knight" are shown to use demon blades as their weapons though it is rare to find ones of good quality. However there are few who choose this meister as it requires one to fight in close-quarter combat.

{Dragoon:} Meisters that fight using guns. Dragoons are notable in that they fight using modern weaponry as compared to the Knights and Aria. Within this field, exorcists can fight using anything from handguns to rifles.

{Aria:} Many demons have weak points known as a "Fatal Verse", in which an exorcist recites a specific passage from holy scripts that could potentially cause their death. An Aria fights by finding a demon's "Fatal Verse" and recites holy texts effectively, ranging from the Bible to other holy scriptures. Arias must have a talent in memorizing, however they are completely defenseless; as soon as they begin to recite the demon's "Fatal Verse", the demon will attack the meister to stop the recital. There are two types of exorcisms, one that banishes whatever creature back to their own world, and one that destroys them entirely and only highly trained individuals can perform the destruction exorcism and more often than not the retrieval of said verse is dangerous.

2) This is a literate RP. Expected frequency of posts will be one a week, so please take your time to observe proper grammar and aim for at least 600 words in length. If we notice that you are constantly misspelling words or use incorrect grammar in a way that shows a lack of care, we will ask that you leave should you not be willing to put in the proper effort.

3) Please do not join if you think you might not be able to keep up or if you’re the type to go half way then leave. If I think that is the kind of player you are, I will not hesitate to remove you from the role play after two weeks has passed without informing us of your absence.

4) Check OOC’s regularly and make sure you are doing what it asks for (if anything) before you post, or for anything in general. That way you don’t end up doing something completely against what I had asked for in the OOC and then you’re stuck with a GM who is irritated thinking that you ignored what she said.

5) Swearing I know is a habit most of you have. I do it myself but I can't expect you to suddenly go cold turkey can I? Just please censor yourself. I would appreciate minimal cursing, if you must cuss at all. And please no f-bombs or anything of that serious degree =w=;

6) God-mode is inactive. If you are going to control another's character I need that character's owner to tell me in OCC just so it's official, that or pm if you must. If I think you are god-modding I will remove you from the role-play should you ignore my first warnings.

7) I am not new to role-playing. I have been role-playing for a decent amount of time and although I do not consider myself anywhere near professional, characters are to be as detailed as possible. This is a given to most role-plays and if you cannot give me details via a character sheet, how do I know you will be able to put out in the role-play? This might seem unfair or whatever, but all I ask is that you give me details. And please, for the love that is all, do not create a Mary-sue/Gary-stu. I know that it can be a bit difficult to not create one, but please do refrain from doing so. If I suspect a Mary Sue is in our midst, I will warn you once about the areas that need correction and if they are not fixed after that then I’ll have to insist you leave.

8) Please obey the rules I have set up and we shouldn’t have a problem. If, for any reason a rule cannot be obeyed, or you find yourself in a conflicting situation, remove yourself from it or ask for assistance. I do not bite and I am more than willing to lend a hand should you ask for it.

9) Remember who the GM’s are in this role play. Our word is law, if you can’t handle someone giving you truthful feedback that ends up asking that you change a lot, then do not join this role-play. Which leads to any and all edits asked of you or when to clarify something better in the OOC. That way future readers won’t be confused on what’s going on if they didn’t read the OOC posts.

10) When reserving a character please list what spot you will be taking and the gender of said character. To prove that you have read these rules please add to which side you will be on. Black for Polaris, White for Kuro and Grey for both and an animal of your choice that has not been used. Once character is complete please inform us in the correct thread with a link to said character so both of us may have a look.

Julius

Julius suppressed the urge to wince when Beatrice stumbled upon the fact he'd yet to successfully summon Regulus without mishap. Fortunately, Stevenson stepped in from there which allowed Julius to approach his ride with some relative peace. But then the man himself stepped in with pretty much the same question. Even though Julius somewhat liked the guy, he wasn't going to take the comment lying down.

" If Regulus got out of control, I'd simply run him down with Aja...assuming you didn't handle the beast first Mr. Perfect. In that regard, I find your claim rather exaggerated- though it really makes me wonder where a certain someone's belief is even necessary. I guess the blood might be useful for my next summon at least." The blonde wasn't serious in the second half (his fear of blood was no secret), but he'd run out of patience in regards to his peers. Julius finally hopped on his summon before having the fiery steed take off and quickly reigning the summon in before it could generate too much heat as it galloped.

The angry youth only rode far enough to ensure he'd left the sight of his fellow students before dismissing his horse. Julius failed to recognize that he hadn't suffered any adverse effects from his second summoning of the day. His physical stamina had been taxed by the run and his emotions worn through by Beatrice left Julius content to lay upon the ground. He didn't exactly have much of a plan at this point- he didn't exactly care about the school debate of Angel or Demon and his work was squirreled away in his room. Julius had no intention of leaving without his work. But he wasn't exactly content to simply sit and work if there was a more efficient way to acquire what the summoner viewed as rightfully his in the first place. As a whole he found the whole matter infuriating, but his natural laziness kept him from doing much more than vent in silence.

Nathaniel was barely conscious but he heard faint echoing voices from the double doors, the slam of the hand on it which for a moment made Nathaniel open his eyes and slowly look up to see a haze of red, red hair perhaps. ''R-Ryuu?'' He groaned the next and his head slowly dropped and his eyes closed over again and he weakly groaned again. His face twitching the next to the squeeze and drag of one of the doors then the clicking of boots on the floor that seemed distant but instantly became clear as they stopped in front of him, slowing down, unconfident steps of reluctance. A second pair of shoes also coming up behind the prominently female pair of shoes, a step or two behind them.

His ears twitched to the sound of breaths before he jumped to attention to the female voice, instinct taking over and he swung his clawed hand, on the defensive and clutched his hand around Ryuu's throat and squeezed, the claws scratching into her skin and his eyes.. the slits dilated to the slight scent of blood but when Nathaniel really looked at the red haze and focused his eyes... He saw Ryuu and paled in the face and took his hand away from Ryyu's throat. He pushed himself into the wall behind him as much as possible before licking the blood from his claws hungrily before looking at Ryuu and lowering his eyes and covering his face with a hand, stuttering. ''S-sorry...'' He groaned, gripping his hand to his chest where pain still lingered like the pain of being stabbed, just non-stop and sharp. He took heavy breaths. ''I-I was s-so... hungry...'' He looked at Ryuu between fingers of his hand then to the haze of a man at the slot of the door, Colter. ''W-who is h-he..?''

He looked down, his claws extending and retracting, fangs also. Spikes on his form resurfacing with the bleeding, ripping through the back of the blood stained back of the borrowed shirt and on his elbows, knees and ankles as he shook. ''S-so h-hungry...'' He whimpered to himself. His arms gave out from exhaustion and he slowly dropped them, hugging the wall a bit, the spikes on his pointed ears coming out from under his soft, long silver hair. He continued to look at the wall, the sound of cracking from where the spikes continued retracted and resurfaced as he spoke, his voice shook from the pain. ''It always h-happens... I wake up and I n-need to feed... On things not to... r-replaceable...'' He looked down, guilty. ''I-I didn't mean to kill them... but I was so... h-hungry...'' He looked at Ryuu then to her neck, guilt plaguing him further. ''I didn't mean to h-hurt you.'' He then looked back at Colter at the viewing slot in the door he was looking into and continued to look at him, wary to no end at this point.

Ryuu Shosuke

The young Knight waited for an answer but it didn’t come in the form of words. Instead it was brought about through pain and a sudden lack of air. Nathaniel swung his hand out, taking hold of her throat before she was even aware of what had occurred. She could feel his sharp nails digging into her flesh, probably enough to draw blood if only a little. Eyes widening in surprise they noticed the lack of recognition in Nathaniel’s eyes. If he was there he wasn’t doing this consciously. However Ryuu was about ready to bring her Demon blade out but the should be dead man pulled back, cowering in against the wall.

At the same time, Colter had slammed the large heavy door with all his might with a murderous intent in his gaze. Wheezing for air, Ryuu touched the areas she knew hurt and when she brought them forwards, she noticed there was a little bit of blood on them. Bringing her hand up, the motion made Colter hesitate and her piercing glare told him everything was handled. With a dissatisfied sigh her old mentor stepped back behind the door and closed it; once again resuming a vigilant eye on the activity within the room through the slot.

The sight of him licking the little bit of her blood on his hands made her feel disgusted. She made sure to take note of the rest of his behavior, which was similar to how an addict would act during withdrawal. His hand reached for his chest, holding it tight against it. She didn’t care for his excuse but she knew in order to understand him, she’d have to sympathize with him. At his question, Ryuu glanced back at Colter before looking back at Nathaniel. “He’s an old friend.”

She became much more attentive once his body began to go through changes. Claws would extend and retract from his hands; his fangs grew but then would shrink. Spikes suddenly grew from his shoulders, elbows, knees and ankles, ripping through the bloodstained shirt. Ryuu watched as he struggled, not sure of what to do. “''It always h-happens... I wake up and I n-need to feed... On things not to... r-replaceable...” A look of guilt settled on his face but the redhead had yet to feel for him.

“Nathaniel, what are you?” She stood up, making sure there was a little more distance between the both of them. Ryuu began to pace the room before she crouched in front of him again. “So how do you do it? To kill them that is. What are those orbs?” There were more questions she wanted to ask but there was a limit to how many she could ask when he’s in this state.

Nathaniel looked back to Colter, his eyes yet to clear up but were slowly focusing into a sniper's scope. It was just taking time, unfortunately. ''Oh...'' He looked at the man, seeing his warily, his glare. He did not glare back nor stare for too long as he didn't want to provoke him from making more than just noise on the door, his pointed ears behind his long silvery locks were put in alert just in case. His constant shifting continued but was slowing down, it seemed to be connected to his frame of mind, his nerves and being 'reborn' again. His body was simply experimenting and getting reaquainted with itself again. He looked back to Ryuu, wincing a bit but being more silent about it as his body still shifted to one form or another... mixtures including the claws, the black boned spikes, fins, scales and even the bones on his shoulder blades which were the start of wings but they never completed only shifted back into his form and into other things again as his body switched and changed. Holding the bloodstained and borrowed shirt close to him with one hand while the other was on his chest still. Keeping his legs close to his chest in order for flesh not to be exposed any further than it had already have.

As he was asked about his origin, his species, his being of existence he was silent, his bluish yellow snake like hues watching Ryuu as she rose up onto her feet then began to pace. Only then to be asked further questions as he watched the woman, still silent. Blinking slowly and backing his head back as she crouched down before him, asking how he killed the people back in the morgue and what the crystallized orbs were. Silent still. It was true, there was a limit of time to ask him such personal questions and actually get an answer for them, as best he could offer anyhow even if he was slow to doing so. ''What am I? ... A curious question indeed, I h-have..'' He stopped for a moment looking down at the blood around him from his wounds were spikes and other things forced themselves free then disappeared the next, just wincing before he continued. ''Yet to discover the answer to that one myself.''

He blinked slowly at Ryuu, watching her reaction before continuing, little by little starting to become more like himself... but it was evident he had lost his privacy and perhaps be under the microscope for now on. ''I...'' He looked guilty once more but continued, with much reluctance. ''I drained them of their souls. The orbs are the same thing... I do not use stamina or mana as you do to power my... capabilities and they are far more... expansive than I have ever shown the Academy. I can do more but my power s-source..'' He looked away as he continued with a low voice, his shoulders lowering as if someone reminded them of a heavy burden upon them. ''Is souls. From people... demons or angels alike... I... try not to feed often but... I need to be careful lest I lose myself to my more... primitive and volatile self. I can be very dangerous... too dangerous for this world perhaps...'' He looked at Ryuu for a long moment, keeping his hands to himself in a curled up form into the wall which was stained in blood along with the floor below him as he continued to bleed but heal in front of Ryuu as his uncontrollable shifting of his form slowed down to a stop and the recurring wounds started to heal by themselves. ''W-what... happens now, Ryuu? What will you do with me... to me? I am not blind to your lack of empathy towards me.'' He looked to Ryuu's chest, passed flesh and bone to her soul. ''I can see it...''

He pointed to the centre of the woman's chest. ''There. You do not have sympathy for me. You can barely understand as it is. Perhaps you never will, not that I can blame you. My place is a rather confusing one in this world and many others I have seen.'' His eyes wandered off to the blood stained wall as he thought to himself for a long moment. He looked back up to Ryuu, returning his hand to his chest, his eyes sharpening as he looked at her. ''So tell me what you are going to do with me now and be done with it.'' He frowned, waiting for her to speak, being defensive though inside he was afraid of what things they possibly would do to him. He had been through a lot of differing... forms of torture and painful procedures. Though he could heal or return back to the world if death took him, he was still afraid like most, of pain.

Realisation came far too late for Marius. This refreshing wind that seemed to lift the very spirit of the falling angel, took time to blossom into the rather shocking realisation that Gravity was once again inserting its cruel influence to try and bring another unwilling object into the grounds indifferent embrace. A terrifying concept to any creature lacking the power of flight. Opening his eyes and training them to the ground, which was closer than he thought. He threw open the wings upon his back and tilted them, swooping, trying to bring himself into something that resembled flight. Human engineering was not something Marius had became familiar with yet, but as he came close to levelling out a rather large metal structure seemed to appear out of no where. Forcing his large wings forwards with all the force he could muster, he attempted to slow himself down. As he brought the large white wings back out of his line of sight he placed his hand upon the cold metal and pushed off it with all his force. The metal buckled and collapsed inwards on it self as Marius came crashing intro the concrete below the structure.

Standing himself up, and brushing the dust off his form Marius, inspected the structure he just crashed into. The large metal frame alien to him. Glancing to one side he noticed a sign off in the distance " Amusement?" he spoke out loud, the sign was in disrepair like the rest of the place. It seemed deserted and so Marius was safe in style in this form but he knew he had to hide his wings. Wrapping his wings around himself, they glowed briefly before taking the form a large white t-shirt. It was at this moment he remembered the sheet of paper within his hand. He wondered briefly what he was going to do with it, before he could come to any conclusions the paper blinded him, and seemingly disappeared from his hand. In truth it had shifted form and moved to his ear. A communicator so he could give his reports back to Aurae.

Striding away from the derelict place, he set his sights firmly on the grey looming structures that made up the city, it deemed more likely that he would find the child in a more populated area than a place with no one around, well Marius believed no one was around, in the shadows of the amusement park lurked the local youths, who had just witnessed an angel come crashing down from the sky, literally. But tracking him would surely be difficult for even Marius himself was impressed, at how quickly he had found the crowds. Marius now truly faced with the scale of his task. Chance alone could not help him, he had to narrow down the general population from the search, but he had nothing to work with. He decided for now to follow the younger looking members of the crowds, he did have that information about the child. Noticing some of the younger member's of the crowd was dressed in some form of uniform he decided to stop a passing business man to inquire about it. " Pardon my interruption... but can you tell me where that uniform comes from" he said gesturing across to the children. " Yeah the academy ..why do you ask?" the man replied, giving a rather disapproving look towards Marius. " I seek a child... around 16.... distant relation of mine" he said spinning a story on the spot. " Thank you for your time" Leaving the business man to himself Marius carried on his way, knowing he would have to check this academy out at some time.

Chikyu
Inner Circle of the 3rd, 5th & 8th Circles

When one first thought of the Third Pillars personal domain within his circles, many thought of a disgusting and horrid place beyond imagination. It was his bad temper and grueling appetite that gave birth to this image. In truth, in the eyes of a messenger, who was currently delivering a message to said Pillar of Strength, his home was quite grand. It was also, quite possibly, the only domain that looked normal if a human or Angel was to set eyes upon it. With its lush pastures set upon rolling hills, gigantic mountains that dwarfed the few scattered settlements within the immediate vicinity. There was even a large river. Its waters tore at its borders with only the crash of water against rock as the only warning to a swift and cold death.

Beyond the river were two large peaks. A single archway of rock connected the two peaks together, forming a natural bridge of sorts but many could speculate that it was the Earth Kings doing. There were many other peaks of varying sizes with their own natural bridges. These peaks upon first look seemed to be scattered randomly but in fact, if seen from above, formed a circle of sorts. There were five twin peaks in total with the fifth peak being the largest of the other four. It was quite obvious that this peak was home to the Prince of Earth. A large building was set into the side of one of the two peaks. It was made completely of stone but of course over time plants and other things began to live on its surface. Across the rocky bridge was another archway but much smaller in comparison to what it sat upon. Each of the five peaks housed a similar archway, each with a different roman numeral carved into its stone.

It could be assumed that each of these archways were the portals that led would lead the traveler to one of the Circles that Chikyu looked after. The one near his home was his personal portal that would take him to the Human world while the other portal, also the second largest twin peaks, led to Purgatory which the messenger had passed through some time ago. However he stood there for quite some time, his eyes searching every nook and cranny they could visibly see and what his mind could handle. Suddenly the ground began to shake violently before it seemed to liquefy before his very eyes. It was as if something was moving under the very rock he stood upon. Immediately the messenger stepped back in hopes the portal would take him back to Purgatory, a place he knew well unlike here.

The rolling rock formed a wall between the messenger and the portal’s entryway. This made the demon jump and he quickly ran forwards in hopes of outrunning it. However a tall figure blocked his escape route and the poor demon was just about ready to push the figure down until he felt the weight of said figures gaze upon him. The messenger stumbled to a halt that soon led to him being on his knees. Already his body began to shake and he glanced up at those cold blue-green orbs as their gaze narrowed.

Realizing nothing would happen without him breaking the ice, the Prince of Earth crouched down in front of the messenger. A flicker of curiosity was cast in his eyes but it was but a flicker and was gone. Looking over the messengers shoulder, Chikyu realized his Golem was still blocking the portal to Purgatory and was also still making the ground quiver. With a soft growl Chikyu waved his hand in a shooing motion in the general direction of the Golem. There was no reply from the mound of earth but now that the ground no longer quivered with its movements it could be assumed the familiar had gone elsewhere. He focused his attention back on the messenger who visibly relaxed some but was still tense in the towering shadow of the Third Pillar. Rolling his eyes, Chikyu laid his chin on his palm, regarding the messenger with a look of boredom.

“So I see you’re a messenger. What is this messenger you’ve come to deliver?” At the sudden break of strained silence, the messenger flinched and quickly dug into the satchel at his side. “Ah yes my mistake for taking so long.” Only giving him a nod, Chikyu watched the fellow for a bit longer until his mind began to think of his next meal. “And uh here is your message Prince of Earth. Now if you’ll excuse me I must be on my way.” Finally the demon showed some backbone and in an instant he scampered on back to the portal and was gone without even waiting to see if Chikyu had a response for him to send back to the sender. For the briefest of moments his temper flared but with a deep breath in and out, he calmed himself and focused his energy on opening the letter.

It wasn’t often that he got a message on paper. Usually Satan would have the messengers relay the message verbally but if it was important the King of Demons often resorted to pen and paper to avoid potential conflict. He knew it was from his mentor by the seal that had been pressed into the wax. Finally standing upright Chikyu started the trek back to his home, opening and reading the contents of the letter as he walked.

Satan Azrael

It occurred again, that surge of power. Azrael had gone to his study after he had dismissed the Princes. The messenger should be on his way back from delivering his letter to the Prince of Earth. His body stiffened and the hair on his neck stood on end. The power surge was different this time. It felt raw as if something new had been born. The surge was short-lived but that didn't mean they wouldn't be able to track down its general location. With a frown Azrael looked out the large window to the light red sky. It was still brightly colored and it didn't seem like it would darken anytime soon.

He leaned back in his seat and stretched, releasing a restless sigh as he did so. There were many things he had to deal with. First it was the absence of return of the Prince of Earths subordinate. Then came the power surges that garnered his most attention for some time now and now he had to focus his attention on the Princess of Air's subordinate and the proof that was shown him of his treacherous acts. Azrael was sure the Princess resented him for believing her fellow Prince of Fire. There wasn't much that he could do about the subject other than deem it as truth and conduct an investigation.

He stood up from his chair, striding to the edge of the window to look down at his domain, Purgatory. "Maybe it's time that I visit her and see what she has seen." A look of irritation crossed his face. It was never particularly enjoyable when he dealt with the Keeper of Purgatory. Thinking about her childish behavior made his head ache; already he could faintly hear her high voice. But alas she really was the only one who would know what happens around Inferno. At one point in time, too long ago for any demon to remember, she had been able to roam all of Inferno before she had been strictly forced into the circle of Purgatory.

Azrael walked the halls of his home, turning right into what seemed to be a wall. However unlike a wall, Azrael was able to pass through. It had been a while since he walked through this dank and small hallway. "I'll need to have this fixed as well." With a sigh the King of Inferno swiped his finger against the wall, pulling away his finger to find grime and something wet. He frowned at the sight and wiped it against his pant leg as he continued down the narrow hall. It was only a few moments later that he arrived at the cavern. Azrael walked to the edge of the rocky platform and looked down at the many levels below as they disappeared into the black maw of Purgatory's finest prison.

Stepping away from the edge, Azrael clasped his hands behind his back and whistled a brief tune. The shrill notes danced and bounced against the walls, making it seem louder than it really was. "I am in need of your assistance, Thea." He forced out her more personal name with a frown.

Thea
Not Long Before

The deity watched and listened attentively to her newest prisoner’s conversation with his superior, the Princess of Air. Their conversation thus far was pretty boring to listen to but the white haired girl’s expressions were amusing. She was like a child speaking to her dearly beloved older brother. What would that be like? Her brow knitted together in confusion at the brief thought. Thinking more on it, Thea stopped paying attention to the pair’s conversation until it was too late. She noticed the Princess of Air wished to leave however the only way to open the door was from the outside. Giggling to herself, Thea whisked the door open. She stood to the side to allow the Princess through and peeked within the room at Yeuri, a devilish grin on her lips. “Tata Mr. I’m Not a Traitor.” The door now closed and locked behind her, Thea led the Princess of Air back out of Purgatory’s prison; leaving her once they reached the start of the narrow hall that would take her back into the nicer parts of Purgatory.

~ ~ ~

The shrill tunes of his whistle hurt her ears, as it filled her being with its noise. Frowning, the conscious that was the Keeper of Purgatory drifted through the walls until finally she was close enough for her to become physical again. Satan watched as the ground rolled like the sea would when something massive moved beneath its calm surface. It stopped some ten feet away from him where a bubble began to rise up from the ground and then pop to reveal a small woman, or girl really. As usual the creature wore her usual goofy grin but her bright pink eyes belied the notion that she was anything but goofy.

Folding her arms across her chest, Thea regarded Satan with some amusement for she already knew what he was here for. “If you’re here to ask about my new prisoner, he’s still alive and kicking. At least when I last saw him.” She giggled but stopped when she saw that her King was not amused. “You know what I came here for and it wasn’t to see if the traitor is still in good health. Of course he’ll need to be once the investigation gets underway.” The two stared at each other for a moment longer before Azrael cleared his throat, obviously irritated already.

“What have you seen Thea? Have they begun to move yet?” The They he spoke of was the faction that wished him dead and gone, especially after his affair with the previous Seraphim. Azrael had thought they were no longer around but it seems they are still very much active and they’ve certainly gotten bolder by placing Yeuri in a position so close to him.

The overseer watched him with a guarded expression. Suddenly twirling around so that her back was to him, Thea looked over her shoulder with a finger on her chin as she thought about his question. “Well they certainly have been a bit antsier as of late, especially when I’m around. Of course just because I’m not there in person doesn’t mean I can’t see or hear them.” She raised her hands in disappointment then faced him again. “The demons you caught eight years ago have also begun to meet up with one another. I’m sure they’re planning their next move now that their pawn has been found out.” Azrael looked down at her, hands still clasped behind his back. “Are you willing to keep tabs on them from now on then? At least until all this has been taken care of.” Thea thought for a brief moment, walking about as she did so.

Suddenly she jumped to the side almost melding together with the rock wall completely. She stopped herself and looked back at Satan who watched her. “Fine but you owe me a trip outside.” Sticking her tongue out at Azrael, she disappeared completely. The King of Demons couldn’t help but snort in amusement, “If that’s what it takes then so be it.” Turning on his heel, he was about to step into the narrow hallway when he remembered his other request. He looked to where she had disappeared, “And please do something about this hallway of yours. It has gotten rather dirty.” Azrael turned back to the hallway only to find that it had changed in those few seconds. Lips curled in a smile as he walked through the much wider hall. It was still made of the same material but at least it wasn’t dirty anymore and it actually smelled a bit nicer than before.

Chikyu

He also was within his home when he felt that power surge. It was the second time actually but he hadn’t paid much mind to it. He merely assumed it was some human who went off and did something stupid. Chikyu looked down at the letter he held in his hands, still in a state of some disbelief of what has occurred while he had been secluded in his Circles, he reread the letter for the third time. Eyes danced across the piece of parchment in a slow dance, Chikyu wasn’t an avid reader, taking in its contents carefully and filing it away for later use. What really caught his attention was the fact that it was the Prince of Fire who had presented the evidence. “There is definitely something wrong with this.”

Folding up the letter, Chikyu stopped walking to look out a giant hole in the wall that was indeed a window of sorts. It could be assumed it came about during one of Chikyu's episodes. He folded his arms across his chest the letter tucked away under his arm. An amused expression settled on his features as he thought of the fun to be had due to current events. The Prince never would have thought Bavol's subordinate, her bodyguard, was in fact under allegiance to the Nine-Star faction. The thought made him chuckle since it was only eight years ago that they had apprehended quite a few of their members. “Which means some of them should be greeting their so called brother in arms very soon.”

With that in mind Chikyu stepped away from the wall to see more about the problems that have arisen. He left his home with the gateway of Purgatory in his mind. It wouldn’t take him very long to reach the gate even if it was on different peaks. Now that he was at the edge of his peak Chikyu whistled a low note. The ground rumbled beneath him as something swam under the surface of the ground. With a look of calm the Prince of Earth leapt off the edge of the peak to land safely on the back of what looked to be a smooth lump of rock. It was in fact his familiar Golem who was capable of fusing with the rock around him but there was only so much rock he could take in before he got to large.

Golem stretched out to the next peaks which held the door to Purgatory. If he wanted to visit his fellow Prince he'd have to go through Satan's many gates. Chikyu didn't quite wish to go through his old mentors’ home in order to get to the gate but it was in a sense the only way he could get to the Prince of Fires Circle. Finally Chikyu stood before the gate of Purgatory; still with a frown on his face. He scratched his head as if he were still thinking about whether or not he’d actually go through with his plan but then when he thought about how fun it’d be to poke at a few of his buttons a wolfish smile settled on his lips. The Prince of Earth looked up at the top of the gate before taking a step through it and opening a door into a white hallway. Looking around, he saw that no one was around which was good. Unfortunately even if he did try to hide his being there, Satan would know that someone had used his set of gates. Chikyu turned to the gate to the left, of the one that bore his mark, and stepped through the doorway.

Within Vincent’s Library

The wrathful demon strode the hallways of the paper filled room as if he was meant to be there. Many of the servants he came across squeaked upon seeing him, for they knew of the usual events that occurred when he was around their master. It didn’t take the Third Pillar very long to reach the area where he knew Vincent would be. Almost at once a servant tried to stop him, she was one of the more defiant ones and quite possibly new. “You’re not welcomed here. Please leave” she spoke with authority and it was obvious she was unaware of who he was. A cruel smile played at his lips as Chikyu stared her down. “Oh I know little girl.” He suddenly lashed out, kicking the woman who was thrown into the room that Vincent and another woman stood in. Chikyu entered the room, admiring the broken down door as if it were a masterpiece. “I must say Prince of Fire. You really need to educate your servants better; I almost gave into my ugly little sin.” sneering at his fellow prince.

With that being said Chikyu pulled one of the chairs closer towards him and plopped down into the cushions. He sat back in the chair his cold eyes staring intently at the demon before him. “I hear you caught a big one while I was holed up in my Circle and I must say it must have been awfully convenient for you to lay out such a well spun lie like that. I certainly didn’t expect you to pull out such a dangerous card. You know of the circumstances when he finds out you lied to him right? It won’t be pretty and I’ll be happy to lay out the punishment.” The prince watched Vincent for his reactions. He was well aware that the other demon probably had plans in case a certain meddlesome demon stepped in. Regardless of how the conversation went Chikyu would stand up swiftly to leave. Only once would he looked back his “comrade” with pure hate in his gaze. “I’ll make sure you burn for your lies Prince of Fire.” stuffing his hands in his pockets as he walked away, his gaze falling upon the servant he had kicked before looking away without a care.

XXXX Astaroth readjusted his weight in response to a groan from the rusted metal track on which he stood, cross-armed and confident. To save time wandering the area, knowing that there were more than lesser demons here to get in his way, he had chosen a high vantage point from which to scan the park below. The array of people messing around in the rotting carcass of supposed amusement were observed by serpentine eyes falling on each distant blot of movement with the utmost disinterest. The mission of fighting and killing had seemed fun at first, but already it had lost its lustre. Those distant specs with their flashes of light and colour did not feel worth the effort of engaging. Astaroth turned his gaze from the park and looked out to the barren horizon stretching behind it. At the end of the day this outing left him feeling more like a child on a field-trip than a man on a mission. The only difference, he felt, was that instead of some angel leading him around and reciting insignificant history, there was some old demon lazing on a throne while waiting for their report. That is, if Azrael cared at all what became of the lesser demons. It was a strangely insignificant undertaking from the start.

XXXX Astaroth was beginning to weigh whether he preferred to be ordered around by a demon or by a crusty angel when he was occupied instead by the sound of approaching wings. The noisy flight from the messy wings of Inferno's messenger birds. A disgusting sound. An uninviting glare was turned on the approaching weak bird sent by Azrael, causing it to stop and relay its message - orders to return to hell. Astaroth waved it off impatiently without verbal response. Looking back to the others to try and distinguish which of those blots he was supposedly united with on this venture, he questioned why Azrael suddenly needed them back. What would he know of their progress at this point? Did it not matter if they were finished or not? Perhaps it really was a pointless distraction to get them out of Inferno. A small smile appeared over a thought that proposed something terrible might had happened in Inferno. He would not mind a change of management. The scuffle between mindless factions could be interesting.

XXXX Deciding not to take the time to climb down from his perch, he jumped from a height bordering carelessness and watched the ground advance with open arms as he waited for the moment before impact. The temptation rose to bring out his scarcely used wings, but he was not alone and he had little desire to show off his black stained angel feathers. Shifting at the perfect moment, he took the hard impact landing on his feet. Ever so briefly the rattling sounds resonating in the surrounding delicate buildings affected by his impact amused him. A moment later, his expression turned to irritation at the thought of a return trip accompanying the princess Bavol and her boy-toy. He really had no interest in spending any more time in audio proximity of the princess's sugary voice and quickly decided to take his own way back. Preferably, a longer one that would avoid them entirely. He doubted they would have much concern for his absence.

XXXX Weaving through roller-coaster supports, he found a break in the once colourfully painted backdrop wall at the opposite end of the park from where they had entered and exited to a sense of isolation. The park of amusement, he decided, had not lived up to its name. At the very least he had gotten to fight something, as poor and brief a fight as it had been. The one with a red eye and questions about demon plans. Where was that knowledge gained? What was the boy? An irritated scoff left him. So much time in Inferno must have made him lazy that he had let one who threatened him simply walk away... Hooking his thumbs into his black and white belt, the camouflaged incarnation of his snake familiar, he lingered with his irritating thoughts of what should have been done as he stared at the dull landscape ahead.

XXXX The barren path ahead drained care over that one lost kill in favour of more significant thoughts. Earth... The third world to be created. An unappealing place filled with weak little creatures predominantly ignorant of the higher realms all around them. For what purpose did the goddess bother? Each creation went further downhill after Aurae. Perhaps she had been trying to convince herself that her masterpiece was not a fluke and she could make another place good enough to birth and house worthy men. But she could not. Her work was finished with Aurae and she would have done better dying there, purpose completed. At least we have some places to wipe our feet on... Astaroth gazed up to the sky as though his snake-like eyes were powerful enough to penetrate the realms and peer into Aurae. Father - dead. Brothers - dead. Little Tera'le... What had little Tera'le been up to? He carried the Grigorie blood, even if it was too far infected by their mother. He bared his teeth in a grin, thinking words intended to be cooed to his brother, Run the place now, do you?

XXXX From a bush a few meters to the left emanated a soft hissing. Astaroth's eyes locked on the source of the sound. He crouched and then crept silently closer until enough of the creature came into view among the foliage to confirm that it was a snake. With a sly smile, Astaroth stroked his belt, mumbling quietly, “An earth companion of yours, Iaculus. Do you think it even has teeth?” Chuckling under his breath, he began to reverse the camouflage veiling his familiar. As Iaculus gradually regained his muscular python prepositions, Astaroth supported his belly as he slid from around him and winded onto the ground.

XXXX As if Iaculus's return to full form sent out a silent warning, the Earth snake shot from the bush and fled away from the park the instant the familiar settled independently on the Earth. Astaroth laughed in mocking amusement. Nothing like an Inferno snake, so small and skittish. The snakes of Inferno almost always attacked and died long before considering running. Pathetic Earth. Expecting Iaculus to keep up, Astaroth began chasing after the fleeing snake as it whipped across the dry landscape.

XXXX Matching the less than impressive speed of the snake would have taken little effort, but Astaroth chose instead to hold back as though it was defeating him. Pretending the chase to be a struggle, he only occasionally pressed forward and make a grab at the creature's tail. With each threat of capture he imagined the creature's terror spiking only to be soothed by intermittent hope as it regained the lead again. The activity enthralled him, overriding awareness of the time being wasted, the true futility of the distraction. How foolish he would appear frolicking about, cackling, with a snake as his target and a much larger snake following at his heel. A burst of laughter, very different in tone than those amused chuckles that had preceded it, sounded in response to the snake partially lashing back to try to bite him as he made another grab for its tail. When he had drained the loud laugh of all its pleasure, he straightened his form and closed the distance between himself and the snake that had grown while he stumbled with laughter.

XXXX Astaroth suddenly stilled, Iaculus took the effort to make a quick stop so not to collide with his master. Flicking his tongue, he observed as the snake they had pursued gave a final twitch, Astaroth's dagger pinned through its head. Astaroth face was void of all amusement, as though Iaculus had imagined the entire frolicking adventure.

XXXX Astaroth's face remained blank as he took the time to milk the venom from the felled snake into a spare bottle pulled from the pouch at his side. Standing and stowing the bottle away to be tested later, he turned his eyes to the sky, this time looking at it rather than trying to peer through it. It had shifted, changed colour and form, and appeared now so different than it had when they arrived. He had a poor impression of the time that had passed. He was quick in deciding he had little inclination, in any case, to care. Let Azrael get impatient if he would. The smooth scales of Iaculus underbelly brushed over his foot as the snake moved to continue on the path they had started during the chase. Astaroth eyed him and scoffed. Not about to be the follower, he caught up with him and picked him up by the neck before guiding him to circle back around his waist and into belt form.

XXXX At a carelessly moderate pace he took a roundabout path calculated to lead back to the portal from which he had entered Earth. After searching two different alleys which momentarily impersonated the one he was looking for, he found the proper alley. It was the stink of those particular garbage bins that confirmed it. As he pressed through the wall to sink back to Inferno, a strange sensation prickled at him, and he knew it meant something all too terribly interesting.

Ryuu Shosuke

The silence was troublesome. It only added to the tense air after Nathaniel’s attack towards her. Cold red orbs locked on to his blue-yellow ones. There was no sympathy in her eyes nor was there any in the lines of the grim expression that had settled on her features. His silence was beginning to work on her patience. The red head was never really patient to begin with but she understood her time with him was limited.

She raised a brow at his vague answer, for he answered her first question within one of his own. Not knowing what one was something she herself had dealt with in the past. Now she cares not for what she is and only dwells on what she can do because of it. A small spark kindled the warmth of her sympathy but Ryuu was quick to quell the miniscule amount of emotion, now was not the time. In response to his own question, Ryuu’s eyes danced along his physical body, trying to gauge any semblance of information that would lead her to an answer simply from what she saw before her. The Knight could see that he was beginning to revert to the persona she knew from working together with him as a fellow teacher.

“I drained them of their souls. The orbs are the same thing. I do not use stamina or mana as you do to power my capabilities and they are far more expansive than I have ever shown the Academy. I can do more but my power s-source..'' He looked away and the very action irritated her. Shortly after pausing, he continued with a lowered voice and shoulders. ''Is souls. From people demons or angels alike. I try not to feed often but I need to be careful lest I lose myself to my more primitive and volatile self. I can be very dangerous too dangerous for this world perhaps . . . '' His voice drifted off into silence.

Ryuu wasn’t sure of what to make of this. As she began to evaluate what he had just told her, Nathaniel continued. ''W-what... happens now, Ryuu? What will you do with me... to me? I am not blind to your lack of empathy towards me.'' Her eyes widened slightly at his statement of awareness but as he already knew she didn’t care. “It isn’t up to me on what to do with you. Do not call me by first name, we are not friends. At least not right now . . .” Her voice was cold and harsh however the latter was spoken quietly so that only Nathaniel could hear. The look in her eyes told him not to make note of her meaning and hopefully he caught on.

''I can see it...'' Eyes following his hand as they pointed to her chest. ''There. You do not have sympathy for me. You can barely understand as it is. Perhaps you never will, not that I can blame you. My place is a rather confusing one in this world and many others I have seen.'' A snort escaped her lips followed by a smirk that passed as quickly as it came. “Is that so?” ''So tell me what you are going to do with me now and be done with it.'' She could tell he himself was becoming impatient. Not knowing what would be done to you wasn’t an experience she would like to go through if she could help it.

“I have no authority over what is to be done to you. The only reason I’m in here speaking with you is because you called for me by name. It seems you wish for this conversation to be done however I’ve a question that has been bugging for a while now.” Ryuu looked over her shoulder at her fellow Knight. Their eyes met and it was surprising just how well they knew each other. He gave her the nod of okay and Ryuu turned back to Nathaniel. “What can be done with these orbs? Are they just that, orbs? Or is there something to them that you haven’t told me-I mean us?” At this point Ryuu was being careful with what she said. She realized that by referring to herself wasn’t a smart move but maybe, just maybe Nathaniel understood where she was getting at.

If her theory was right and if Nathaniel confirmed it, then it would mean the others are aware. It gave her all the more reason to keep them from getting their hands on those orbs. Although the Order stood for the protection of Fidel City, Ryuu was all too aware that they would not hesitate to use those orbs for their own personal gain. Especially now that certain factions have begun to stir due to recent events. Almost at once Ryuu’s train of thought went towards Aurora but now wasn’t the time to worry about her students.

Alvina Erinyes

It seemed Alvina was had a curse on her today. Everything seemed to be ill timed today and already her master was in a foul mood with her. Though maybe this could benefit her, since the approaching prince of earth might instead earn the ire of Vincent. " He is here" she said in such a grim tone that could only ever denote her speaking of Chikyu. Her familiar Umbra, had fixed its gaze on Chikyu as soon as he entered the building, and upon her silent command it would not leave him either, and she was relayed ever bit of information, including his apparent mood, though you could never trust a demonic panther to gauge any emotions.

" You know.. i get that eery feeling of familiarity whenever i see you" she directed towards Chikyu as soon as he entered the room, using her familiars vision to time it, as she never looked round " the same lumbering, boorish demeanour, just like all my brothers.. but what can we help you with oh great Prince of Earth?" she said, listening to the prince. She didn't need to look at Vincent to know he was finding this boring, bordering on annoying, it was painfully predictable, and utterly unimaginative in its delivery. Still it helped confirm that Chikyu would undoubtedly be swift to react to any news that reaches his ears.

After Chikyu finished and finally left, Alvina let out a heavy sigh and focused once again back at Vincent. "He reacted quickly... though if he acted without correct information even he could not escape Satan's wrath" it would be a dangerous plan, but it was clear that he could prove a massive thorn in their side, and truly all that could be done was to try and turn Satan's favour even for the briefest of moments. She did not know either of the princes as well as they probably knew each other so despite her remarks she could offer no advice to Vincent about his rival. " Still.... our focus should be on the human world... Satan will have our hides if we came back empty handed.. and i have grown rather attached to mine" Placing her hand out to the side, she felt the nose of her familiar gently press against her hand, the panther wishing to sit by its mistress side. It was looking forward to exploring a new territory though Alvina would be swift to remind it that restrictions would be placed upon it, just like they would be placed upon herself. " Your familiar was not long ago in that realm.... anything we can use?"

Horatio Greger & Solomon

He had had a rather rough day so far and the rain didn't help much. Normally the middle aged man would have rejoiced with the coming of rain as he once did when he was much smaller and much, much younger. Nowadays the rain simply reminded him of how it was Natures way of cleansing the world of its dirt, cleansing the people. Unfortunately the great Mother of the World was thwarted once more by waterproof canvas large enough to ensure a person wouldn't be damped by the rain. Allen himself was once of those people, too wrapped up in their own little worlds of dryness. At such a moment a spark of color dashed to his right. His deep brown eyes followed the young woman quickly and for a moment he pitied her lack of dryness, for she did not carry with her an umbrella. Almost as soon as he began to do so his attention returned to himself and he was reminded of how bad a day he was having.

Some ten minutes later the rain let up and he, like everyone around him, shook their umbrellas out and put them away so they wouldn't be in the way. Horatio wished he had taken the metro but alas he didn't have the money to pay the fare. "Pardon my interruption... but can you tell me where that uniform comes from" It took him a moment to realize he was being spoken to but he responded. "Yeah the academy. . ." He looked to the man and was troubled by his age, not realizing the look of disapproval on his face. "Why do you ask?" " I seek a child... around 16.... distant relation of mine" Another look of disapproval came about but it soon softened as the stranger explained to Horatio the situation. Nodding along, Horatio pointed towards the center of city. "Head towards the center of the city and you'll arrive at the Academy grounds." Horatio then left him to his business and continued on his way to his meeting.

Not even five minutes after their separation did Horatio registered the strange feeling he had when he spoke with that stranger. For some reason he felt calm, forgetting his trouble, almost happy really. He looked over his shoulder to see if he could spot the stranger but he wasn't able to but someone else was. This tad younger fellow watched from the rooftops of a nearby building. Had he not had the luck of encountering a new exorcist on patrol, he would never have found out about the Orders attentiveness towards the skies. It took him a while to get the poor guy to talk but eventually he did. It seemed like the Order was aware of a lot of things. Solomon had never encountered an Angel before and he was quite eager to meet him.

He had been quick to send his familiar to the his higher ups the moment he caught sight of the Angel as he fell. A grin parted his lips with excitement. Solomon ran across the rooftops before finally climbing down to ground level. He followed after the Angel for a while, getting bored as he did. It wasn't long before he realized the Angel was heading in the direction of the Academy. His curiosity ensnared again, Solomon followed the Angel with tad more eagerness than before. He was aware the Order had gotten much more vigilant towards the warring factions for a while now. Solomon had been preoccupied by his thoughts of caution that he hadn't noticed they were on school grounds.

Solomon glanced upwards to see that a young student with blonde hair seemed to be approaching the Angel. His eyes narrowed and he thought of maybe interrupting the pair but he saw someone else of more concern, a senior exorcist. With a huff of air Solomon pulled up his hood to not only obscure his face but to hide the tattoo on the back of his neck. The tattoo depicted a tribal crow spreading its wings in white ink, the White Crow. Unfortunately now would be where he'd have to leave his Angel.

He was dreaming again. Within his pedestrian fantasy, the sky wore coffee-stained, ancient colors above an endless stretch of water that sat calmly without disturbance. A few clouds brushed the decay of the sky—how fragile they were, as though they would dissolve in shame if kept under harsh scrutiny. Motherless light descended onto the clear surface, reflecting the same continuum of the sky, but it was not quite the same. The mirroring impression the water offered was unreal, a figment born as an apparition, a mental coquette, but never existent in the reality of the dream—untouchable even in reach. No matter how many times he blinked, the sepia luster branded his retina with cloudland, and when he closed his eyes, he was brought to the surface of an inferno, the back of his eyelids fashioned as red organic chambers, reminding him he was conscious here.

The first step was always foreign, an illusory limb he felt as a part of him, yet the somatic sensation was not enough to convince him that it was truly his own. He walked toward the direction presented the moment he first opened his eyes. A glance around would tell him there was nowhere in particular to go within the edgeless space of absent deviance. He felt that no matter what direction he chose, he would end up in the same location within a rupture of time and space, caught in a vacancy of the subliminal chaos. He would be either suspended or left in free fall, perhaps become oblivious to the reality of such occurrences, much like every dream that rose from the consequence of his avoidance of sleep. But how do the dreams usually end? If he remembered, it might be quicker to escape the desolation of his soul and stop the madness from returning every time he bathed in the river of dreams.

Fatigue rendered him unable to pay attention to his pace and the number of his steps. The horizon shifted upon the spectacle of a misplaced door consuming a small patch of the sky and resting on the boundary above the pretentious water. He approached the rather ornate door without caution—what an artless predilection for neglect he appeared to possess at the moment. After all, he would wake up unaffected and forgetful of whatever transpired, and this was enough reason for him to act impulsively when the only distinct effect is the lingering dread of abandonment circulating his system in the aftermath.

Possessing not a wall or any means of support, the door floated seemingly out of purpose, abandoned to confuse the visitors of this world. The small sculptures on the lintel possessed war angels carrying spears and swords. Whilst their alabaster gaze found their blissful daemonic counterparts on the jambs, they seem lost in their accusations of those damned, and awkward in their artificial stations. Some were bent over as though in punishment; others suggested they were running away by the way they turned their bodies away from the angle of the edges. The daemons were tempted in eternal laughter, pointing, and holding not dust in their hands except their fictional black hearts. It was as if they could free themselves from the surface, be able to fly away or turn the angels into white dust, and they certainly could if they wanted.

He wondered if this door represented what he thought of the worlds, the angels, and the daemons. The contemplations of eager demise did not astound him as it would to the critical people of Aurae. It would not so much astound them, but they would find him blatantly ridiculous with a tongue patched with buncombe. As no doorknob existed, he pressed his fingers against the stubborn surface, and his fingertips throbbed in surprise of the sudden shift from the perpetual air that carried them earlier. The door opened slowly even at the slightest push, only to reveal the abyss beckoning him into its lonely womb. An immediate, distant echo melted into the darkness, unintelligible at first, but the fetal sound grew stronger, until he heard what it said as though the creature speaking the words was drawing closer. But nothing appeared.

Come with me and take me home,” said the abyss before pulling him into the door. He slowly lost his sensation and freedom, and finally, as if his skin was teasing him from the sudden hypoesthesia, he felt he descended from the skies and into nightfall.

Unlike his other dreams, he remembered most of the details of this dream upon waking. It confused him at first, but he thought about whether being on Earth had to do with the exceptional ability to secure the memory of his dreams stringently. Or it might just be a momentary gift from Death before he goes to receive its osseous kiss. His dream could be the response to the piercing feeling he had upon entry to this world, something primal and predatory that buried itself immediately into his soul when it found him.

The wall of cement supported his feeble body, the result from a tragic, short fall onto a soft bed of mud and grass near an abandoned building. He managed to crawl into the dusty greeting of what appeared to be a factory with oxidized machinery and broken conveyor belts dedicated to the production of an unknown human artifact. For a few days, he attempted to recover his strength after the punitive burden the travel between worlds had on his body. But he decided it was time to find the child before he prematurely dies from a different disease other than suicide. Standing did not take as much effort as he expected, but the walking was disheartening. A step was closer to a stumble, unsteady and uncertain, worse than the limbs in his dreams, which he could at least move in volition. Slowly, he walked toward exposure—until the open world cradled him.

The night sky was quite a marvel to witness for a fourth time since he descended from Aurae. He once imagined the colorless sky of Aurae to be inked with soot upon reading what the night sky appeared like in the stolen books from Earth, but his imagination can only shiver underneath the expanse of this universe, the raw and unforgiving climate haunting his skin in transcendent memento.

Sprinkles of red, blue, and white orbs of light floated in the distance from where he stood. He decided to begin there, hoping that his primordial substance would draw him close to where the child existed. Perhaps that was what the feeling was, the allure from a child torn by heaven and inferno, or it may be something else that was monstrous and out for blood.

XXXX The rift leading back to Earth hummed quietly, only enough to disturb the silence, behind him. Standing a single step within Inferno's threshold, the atmosphere invaded his senses. The hot stale air, infected with a mixture of individual, indecipherable offensive scents, drained the cool touch of Earth's air from his skin. The chaos of beasts, demons, and vast scarred wastelands had lost their lustre long ago. He wanted nothing more than to move back to higher realms. There was much to be done back among the whitewashed streets. Enough of the Goddess's prison.

XXXXAstaroth turned his gaze back to the rift without an expression mirroring his thoughts. Despite his distaste for the realm over which he stood as Primordium, the title and that which came with it was a benefit to him. It had given him access to the feeling which had pulled at him just before he returned to hell, or so he was quick to assume. In other secret ventures to Earth he had never felt something like it. He doubted anyone but a Primordium could have the power to disturb him. For a long time he wondered who stood opposite to him in Aurae.

XXXXThe chance to trace the feeling and discover for himself was quick to deflate concerns for what Inferno might make of his actions. After all, the angels were usually wiser than to let their Primordium wander Earth alone. He did not doubt a greater intention behind their movements. A wicked smile overtook him. Perhaps his brother was among those who were now on Earth. Even if the chance of finding his brother was uncertain, he could not fight the excitement that rose at the possibility.

XXXXAstaroth disdainfully eyed the limiter clamped around his wrist, Azrael's imposed control. The decision to leave Inferno once more had already been set, but he pondered momentarily over how to leave things with the demons. With angels to fight, demons coming to stab at his back would be an inconvenience. Still, he was not going to take the time to earn his leave as would please Inferno's monarchy. Neither would he keep wearing their chains. He removed the limiter from his wrist, revealing his more demonic appearance and freeing him to more use of his abilities. However, in hopes it would explain well enough his rash actions, he pulled a paper from his satchel and wrote a brief note:

I have seen the angels on Earth. No doubt they plot against us. They may find us vulnerable through the
rifts. I must return to Earth to follow the one I have seen before he moves too far to track.

After signing the letter under his name, he addressed it to Prince Chikyu and bound it like a scroll with his discarded limiter.

XXXXIn case there were precautions over this particular portal to keep a demon from getting through without their limiter, he brought the letter with him as he crossed back to Earth. Once on the other side, he tossed it back through, intending it to look to whomever found it like the one who had left it did not have time to cross the portal to deliver it. Nighttime provided a shield of darkness under which Astaroth felt the chances of being spotted were minimal and unimportant, so he brought out his black stained wings and took to the sky, following the pull of the uncertain feeling.

Vincent Price

The woman before him was lucky enough to have barely ducked as the knives flew over her pretty little head. It was quite the sight to see those fluid movements of her as she got back onto her feet quite gracefully. That faint smile from before became much more noticeable however it wasn’t a nice smile. It was more like he was content that his stock was still in good shape. Lazily setting her own knife flat on the table Alvina walked back towards her spot on the sofa, all the while facing him. He couldn’t quite tell if she was just being cautious or if it was something else but he approved of the former. It was good that she felt that way. It meant he was still something to be feared and he would continue to do so for as long as breath left this body of his.

As he contemplated her words a surge of power erupted into existence. It was quite the marvelous feeling; to have felt it even here of all places. Vincent however did not disclose those emotions to Alvina but instead maintained a cool façade. Considering the relationship between the three worlds, it’d be near impossible to find the exact location of the power surge but one could determine the area that it may have originated from. Before he was allowed to comment on Alvina’s words one of the maids cleaning up the mess by his doors suddenly flew into the room, rolling across the floor and eventually into a stop.

Even before those words slipped past his dirty mouth, Vincent was well aware of who it was. When he spoke it confirmed his assumptions and he could already feel a headache coming forth. There was really only one dirt encrusted demon that could cause him such a disturbance and upon looking it up, it was none other than the Third Pillar, Chikyu. Those pale blue orbs watched in disgust as the Prince of Earth as he placed his dirty hands on a chair to perch on. “My, my quite the manners you have there. You most certainly may sit Prince of Earth.” Vincent could only listen in boredom as Chikyu once again gave the same damned speech he gave all those other times. He thought himself valiant when in fact he was meddling in affairs that he did not, could not, comprehend. In reply to the Prince of Earth’s obvious threat Vincent said, “And I shall make sure to bury you under your cause Prince of Earth.”

“Oh I’m well aware of that my dearest which is entirely why you will be staying here.” He leaned back into his chair, lacing his fingers before him as he gauged her reaction. Suddenly standing he placed his hands behind his back as he strode around the room, answering her questions one by one. “My familiar was indeed there. He came across an exorcist party and managed to bring me quite the specimen.” His hand hovered over a leather bound book that rested on the corner of his desk. Eyes flicking up towards Alvina’s face, they were cold and harsh. “Did you know there exists countless offspring between demons and mortals? I find it quite fascinating to which I will gladly look into while in the Human’s realm.” He continued his pacing and stopped just in front of his beautiful pawn. “You on the other hand will be here, making sure everything goes accordingly. I will contact you as needed while I am away. Any objections?” His eyes locked onto hers as if challenging her to voice out her objections. Regardless of what was said, Vincent would soon prepare for his trip to the Human Realm.

Alvina Erinyes

Alvina simply arched a brow hearing that she would stay in inferno. It seemed like she was being punished harder then she thought. Normally venturing into the human realm with Vincent under these circumstances would give them a reasonable alibi for anything that had set up to happen, now while staying would give Alvina greater control over what would happen she truly felt she was being thrown to the wolves, being left with Bavol, who live Alvina had just helped throw into chaos. Chikyu who from what Alvina could tell despises everything that she is. And of course Satan, she wished nothing to do with him, even under the best of circumstance. Of course if she failed upon any aspect she also had to watch out for the wrath of her master.

" Half breeds?" she thought for a moment as she glanced over at Vincent's book, her instincts always told her she should steal that book one day and sell it to the highest bidder, but that would be a foolish move, and fools end up dead. " Any use for them?...or are they just annoying creatures?" she said referring to the half demon children, in all honesty she did not care if they were useful or not, it showed a thoughtful nature which she knew Vincent would look for. When Vincent came to rest from his pacing in front of her, she met his gaze. She knew she was being called out.

" I am to be left under the crushing gaze of satan while the other two lords positively hate anything to do with you, which by virtue of association means me?.... No objections, should be entertaining" Raising one of her fingers she made it clear that she had not finished talking. " However i would like to make one request.." she turned her finger and gestured roughly in the direction that the maid who got booted through the door lied. " I want her to serve as my assistant during your absence... she might learn something" Alvina was no teacher unlike Vincent, and as such was very stern with anyone working under Vincent. It was odd though that she was requesting an assistant as she could be seen as almost completely solitary.

Standing up she once again she made a very calculated move in bowing her head slightly, it was to show that she was not making a challenge and that she was still technically sub servant to him but from her earlier words she still showed her determined nature. " We should probably send a message to Satan to inform him of the arrangement...Would you like me to fetch one of the messengers?" Finally she seemed to break her gaze away from Vincent as she moved away from the sofa, but it soon became clear she was still watching as sitting in the doorway was her familiar Umbra, acting once again as her second set of eyes. The familiar was instructed not to enter the office, but it was keen to return to her masters side. Coming to stand next to her Familiar she rested a hand on its head as she looked back towards Vincent. She would not leave with out being dismissed but she felt that their conversation was coming to a close, and she did not want to be in that office any longer, she wished to get prepared for what was coming.

Vincent Price

“They’re more annoying than they are useful but they are expendable.” He replied to her questions. What Vincent said is true, well to him anyway. The pesky half breeds are always whining about being the freak in society when in fact they were superior to the regular human. It was when they were compared to a true demon, a Superior demon, that they became inferior. Alvina’s words rung true. The Prince had no intention of working under Satan’s scrutinizing glare and while the woman before him was quite useful, he wouldn’t hesitate to let her take the fall. Of course that’d require his plans to be discovered. Plans that have been in the works for years. There was no way he was going to have it all go down the drain after all the work he put into it.

A brow was raised in question at the gesture Alvina made to signify she wasn’t done just yet. “A request?” He deliberately said it slowly to show that she was toeing the line. Blue orbs flickered over to where she had pointed. It was the maid the Prince of Earth had kicked as a means of announcing his arrival. He looked at her as if contemplating whether he should give in to Alvina’s request. He really only did it to annoy the woman. “You want her? Mm I don’t see why not.” Shrugging his shoulders as he spoke, Vincent took note of the bow. It was good to know she was still subject to his words, but her request put a miniscule splotch on it.

Vincent walked back to stand behind his desk. The demon noticed that her familiar, Umbra, had arrived. The familiar stood by its master who was now at the door. “Yes do send a messenger.” He waved his hand at her as if to shoo her off. It was his way of telling her that she may go. Like Alvina he had much to prepare for however his preparations would be much different from hers. Hands shuffled through a stack of papers all of which needed his seal of approval but he eventually glanced back up to see if his subordinate had left already. He was glad to see that the maid she had requested to aid her was gone as well. "Such useless people I swear." He said with a frown.

After going over all the necessary paperwork Vincent left his office and to his personal quarters. They were off limits to the majority of the staffs and only a select few were allowed to enter. Those select few were all mute so that they wouldn't be able to inform anyone outside of his circle of what he was doing. It wasn't like he was doing anything truly bad but it certainly could be deemed as suspicious.

XXXXA pale white impression of the burning light above Levien remained in his sight despite closing his closed eyes and the arm thrown defensively over his face. Repeated blinking did not provide a solution. Such an unfriendly light to be welcomed by. Uncertain of the height he had appeared at, he turned to face the ground and began to spread his wings. He did not have enough time to fully expand them before being introduced to the bright green foliage of a tall tree. All the way through the tree's rough branches, he failed to grab a hold of anything sturdy enough to stop his fall. A barrage of painful branch hits later, he was dropped unceremoniously from the final arms of tree to the ground below. Groaning faintly in disapproval of the embarrassing event and rubbing the location of a possible bruise, he looked up to the terrestrial entity he was so intimately acquainted with. Giving in to a bit of amusement, he said to the tree, “Earth has quite the way with greetings, doesn't it?”

XXXXLeaving his arm to bruise as it willed, he turned his attention to what was in his hand. In place of the letter he had been tightly guarding was now a small earpiece. He had never used one quite like it before, but he was familiar enough with it. It was placed in his ear, for now, where it could let him hear from the Seraphim or allow him to report to her. He hoped for neither of those possibilities to become a reality.

XXXXHis gaze drifted back to the tree as he reflected on his distaste for Faida. He found the calm swaying of the tree's leaves to be rather captivating. He would like to think it was much more splendid a sight than trees in Aurae, but was aware of lacking a good reason for the biased preference. Getting to his feet and attempting rather fruitlessly to clean the dirt from his light clothes, he took in the companions of his tree greeter. All around, tree after tree stretched up into the sky, blocking the sun from the ground enough that no grass grew. Instead the dirt ground was occupied by saplings, flowers, and other uncertain foliage growths. Near and on some trees grew collections of what he assumed to be fungi. Everything was foreign and uncertain. The similarities they bore to things growing in Aurae were barely enough to give him a compass of understanding of the new life around him.

XXXXLevien glared at the dirt that had smeared into his clothing. He had not expected to be confronted with dirt so immediately. If only he had brought spare clothing. Thinking back on the descent through the tree made him itch, as though invisible bugs had overtaken him. He ran his hand through his hair, seeking the source of the phantom discomfort, not convinced by the single leaf he managed to find that he had cleared himself of stowaways. He was not about to walk around in this new world looking a mess.

XXXXAmong the unfamiliar calls of birds, he recognized the sound of rushing water. Beyond those sounds he picked up little else. Nothing he thought to be particularly human. The area was encompassed by a peaceful desolation. For a moment he was regretful not to find a buzz of human activity quickly after his arrival, but he knew it was for the best to get his bearings somewhere hidden. It would be a bad start to a stealth mission to fall from the sky into the middle of a town, outspread wings gleaming in the sunlight.

XXXXAs he followed the sound of the water, its gentle murmur rose from background noise to an overwhelming roar as he reached the edge of a precipice overlooking a large pool. Crashing noisily to the pool below, the water, which flowed on into a river that stretched on through the trees, was emerald and clear when undisturbed by the waterfall's flow. The tranquil water seemed trustworthy enough to wash in, so he calmed and first sat with his legs over the edge, and watched the flow of the water below.

XXXXThere were plenty of peaceful spaces for reflection in Aurae, but none felt to him the way this place did. Here the peace was not undercut by the unending air of restraint. It was true peace, he believed. Untamed and youthful, befitting the youngest realm. His serene smile grew wider at the thought of sharing this place with another lover of peace, his dear familiar. He held out his hand and murmured soft ceremonial words. A white light spun from the centre of his palm and grew until its white colour was tainted with rainbow and light became feathers. His small rainbow bird raised her head and made adjusted herself with a ruffling of her feathers. “Have a look, Jiya. We've finally made it.” He bounced her in his hand to encourage her to take flight. She took the initiative, and watching her sail out under the bright blue sky, he added softly, “And what a sight it is...”

XXXXJiya crossed to the far side of the precipice, swooping upwards in the face of a tree before flipping backwards towards Levien. When she had almost reached him again, she turned into a wide spiral, descending closer to the water with each pass. Levien chuckled at her enthusiasm, paused for a moment, and then indulged in a full bodied laugh. Tucked among trees with the rush of water drowning other sounds from his ears, he felt for a moment as though he was released from all the pressure of his goals. Though, it was not long before he reminded himself that there was plenty more to be done before he could really be free, with Felspar just as free at his side. He wondered what his mentor was doing while he was being lazy by the water. The mission was Felspar's idea, but would he be playing a role in it?

XXXXJiya had already settled in a peaceful portion the water where she was able to float without being taken down the stream. As Levien watched the distant movement of her head as she straightened the feathers of her wing, he was reminded of his own wings. One had little reason to hide one's wings in Aurae, and he quite liked the look of his wings, so he was not very practised with the camouflage process. Nonetheless, he remembered the lessons on it well enough. With closed eyes, he embraced a sense of calm and willed his wings to turn unseen. Standing, he extended his wing to the side to see how he had done. The process was successful. His wings had become invisible. Reaching into what appeared to be empty air, he noted that his wing felt no different, as promised. He would need to remember to keep from backing into any humans, lest they discover, through the touching of hidden feathers, an undeniable hint of his origins.

Salem quickly found his departure to the human realm to be a lengthy process after the Seraphim gave her ruling. First he had to make arrangements for the areas under his supervision, not a hard thing but still a lengthy process. The more difficult task was finding people willing to take care of what remained of his family, it took effort and more than a few promises and favors exchanged...but it was enough to at least ensure he shouldn't return to his residence in shambles if the world transitions weren't entirely out of synch. After all ideally, it would be as if he never left Aurae since mortal time was allegedly so fast.

" Well at the very least there will be no lack of excitement on the other side." Salem commented as his long strides carried him through the world transition hall. After all he wasn't just going to have to compete with any Infernal sources, but also his allies. Until he'd exhausted every possibility, he couldn't let his kind descend to senseless violence and commit murder out of fear. The angel paid little heed towards the voices of others around him that called out for various forms of preparation.

His clothing was simple cloth on the waist - it should still do. His manacles, spear, shield and sword he'd prepared to be stored on his person as mere trinkets until he needed them. As far as Salem's warrior sensibilities told him it was better to go into this foreign battleground as lightly encumbered impossible. As world transfer finally occurred, he was forced to shield his eyes from the radiance before cautiously attempting to open them again. His body was heavier, the air less nourishing and furthermore everything felt...smaller. His very being felt as if it was crammed into some kind of vessel too small to contain it and the world around him felt somehow less real and more fragile. But the biggest change was how tyrannically bright and warm the blue sky was... there was no love in this light, it was a harsh tyrannical thing.

"Poor forgotten children, how do you even live in a world like this...even the air feels dirty" Salem could only voice his thoughts while he looked at the sea of clouds bellow. It would seem he'd been slightly brought off course, at the very least he was too high. The angel quickly sought to land, one he was beneath the clouds a new sight met his eyes and again overwhelmed his sensibilities. A giant metal contraption of lights and noise, it positively radiated humans and their hollow feelings...even more so their shortcomings. Salem noted his own power shrinking into his new form, his natural luminescence slowly diminishing encouraged the angel to land with rather excessive haste and force to avoid having to fall. Unfortunately, the slightly less than real seeming ground fell into itself due to his haste...this world's fragility would take some time to learn.

Salem turned his gaze around in what patch of green amidst this sprawling human creation he landed in...a park perhaps? Regardless Salem quickly set to work, his hands moving quickly while he murmured. Soon beneath his feet mist formed, the mist shifted into glorious looking hounds which fell into line. It was a simple searching procedure from his military days.

"Find any of my fellows and alert me of their doings, reach out to any of the Faithful...as for demons...howl loud and clear" The hounds quickly split, after all they could be his eyes, ear and mouth if need be, furthermore their destruction would only alert him with the last thing the hound saw. Sooner than expected a hound found someone of Faith and Salem felt his throat constrict while he conveyed his message.

" Fellow child, Principality Aritos begs for aid." Salem didn't know enough, the human world was too different. He no longer felt secure in his usual dress and felt certain his scarred visage would be conspicuous...he needed a human. One that could teach him and hopefully assist him in his mission, he definitely wasn't prepared for the human world.

Solomon

Of all the things he had been expecting to come across this certainly wasn’t one of them. The young man could only stare at the beautiful creature that stood before him. From what he could tell the creature was a canine but it was no ordinary one that’s for sure. Just a second ago it had spoken to him in such a formal manner it sent shivers down his spine. Had it not been for the fact that it said Principality, Solomon probably would have tried exercising the holy thing. For whatever reason the brown haired Tamer thought that he had been chosen to aid this Aritos fellow but in actuality he had been randomly selected by an Angel who needed the help of a human.

Pride began to swell in his chest and Solomon grinned down at the canine. “I’d be more than honored to help Principality Aritos in his mission. Just lead the way.” Motioning with his hand as he spoke, Solomon followed after the canine as it led him to where this Principality was.

Upon seeing him, Solomon felt a surge of emotion but it ultimately led to a sort of calmness. Looking at the Principality with arrogant eyes, he bowed to the angel in disguise. “I have answered your call oh gracious one. How may I be of service?” Had it been anyone else Solomon’s words would have been laced with sarcasm however in the presence of an angel he kept his tongue in check.

Feint || My Sunset

He watched Ryuu as she watched him, both silent at first until he watched the rising of her brow seeming to have more questions than ever. He noticed the small flame of sympathy in a warm colour just as quickly as it was snuffed out by her will and a hint of sadness to the lose of it came over him, but he crushed it just as quickly. He put his hands onto the back of the wall, digging his claws into them and pulled himself up achingly, bones clicking and cracking, like some machine not being used in a long time. Once up, he stood up tall, hands by the sides of him. Blood marking the wall, floor and him but no scratch was on him but the ruins of what was once clothing. He too feeling himself becoming more in control of himself as he sighed gently from his nose, watching Ryuu process what he was telling her while keeping against the wall so not to make her think he was going to attack her.

He looked at Ryuu, his face blank, stoic but there was a certain look to his eyes that spoke many volumes for him. He knew things for sure and he could look into Ryuu's core to find what she was truly feeling and perhaps connect to her more than anyone else could. Understandbly, this was probably an uncomfortable feeling and that much was clear when she widened her eyes. She didn't expect to be seen so clearly and it surprised her. "Friends... they leave me, willing or not in the end. Time decays everything while I stay stagnant. Twisting and turning the tides of fate mortals cling to, others try to defy it but it always comes. Everything changes around me... I am alone." He caught on however and nodded to Ryuu, only slightly as to not make it obvious to the observer as he suddenly moved himself from the wall and walked away from it and away from the blood, the stench of it was not so pleasant on his sensitive nose.

Nathaniel watched as Ryuu looked back to the other Knight, Colter. "Comradity." He noted aloud, looking right into Colter's eyes for a moment before looking back to Ryuu as she spoke to him. As the crystalized orbs were in question, he tensed noticeably and watched Ryuu closely, balling his hands into fists. "If I were to give you the answer your 'old' friend's ears would surely catch on as he is listening. So protective... but loyal not to you, not entirely. Why is he here? Works for someone... higher. He wants to come in and take control. It is only because you are here, that he does not. I can feel that... fire. He wants to come in so badly and perhaps press my face into the ground. Domiance is key here, in his mind. I could be wrong about his intent but that fire in him, unmistakeable."

He then moved swiftly closer, hand on Ryuu's head, her head to his chest where trained ears would hear the voices of uncountable people from his chest with each beat of his heart. Souls living in harmony in one body... His body. He pressed his lips to one of Ryuu's ears and whispered. "I will not be used. They won't be used." He then released Ryuu, backing off slowly and he began to walk more normally, strength growing more and more, watching Ryuu with his blue yellow snake like hues as well as Colter as he changed his eyesight to see their souls so he didn't need to entirely use his eyes to 'see' them. Walking around Ryuu with clawed hands behind his back. "Your old friend... doesn't want to be my friend, does he?"

Ryuu Shosuke

The corners of her lips curled ever so slightly at his act of loneliness although she had an inkling that some of what he said was truthful. They held a weight of someone who had seen and done many things but had no one to really share those experiences with. Red orbs followed Nathaniel's every move, taking note not to be caught off guard like before when he had tried to choke her. While it hadn't been the first time she had been choked it was the first in that sort of situation.

Upon mentioning those orbs of his Nathaniel tensed, something Ryuu was willing to take advantage of if meant he would cooperate. They would have to be of some value, personal or not, for him to behave in such a manner. Suddenly Nathaniel began to speak of Colter. Hearing his words, Ryuu couldn't help but snicker at how wrong he was albeit he was correct on some parts. The red knight glanced over her shoulder at her old mentor, giving him a look that only he would recognize. Now wasn't the time to try and exert your dominance through a steel door. It just made things complicated and somewhat awkward.

With an audible sigh, Ryuu swiveled on her feet to stand in front of the door. "My friend here does indeed work for those of a . . .much higher position than he or I. Regardless of who gives him orders I trust him with my life and vice versa. It's a shame to think that all those years we spent together were meaningless if he still had doubts about my actions. Don't you think Oh Sleeping Exorcist? And while we're on the subject of my friend here he is certainly dominant but he's far too lazy to come in and push you around when I can do it myself." Just as she finished Nathaniel placed his hand on her head and pressed it against his chest. She audibly snarled at the action but paused long enough to hear a soft whisper, or rather a dozen whispers echoing inside the snake eyed man's chest. One could also hear Colter begin to pull his blades out. Thankfully Nathaniel pulled back after whispering those words to her.

To think that his body itself housed all those orbs and Ryuu had little doubt that those orbs were the solidified forms of those souls. His next words were something she expected. "I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to hold hands with you and skip in a field of daisies." The sarcasm was harsh but it was a small form of retaliation for him grabbing her in such a manner. Again for that matter.

Ryuu did not care for how he circled her. Red orbs followed him as he walked with his hands behind his back. Almost as if he was perfectly comfortable with where he was. Without a moment's haste Ryuu pulled Chomeksu out of her storage place. The blade murmuring its desire for a new kind of blood as it hovered dangerously close to Nathaniel's neck. Of course it was on the blunt side so in the end Ryuu meant no real harm. "The one you should be worried about is little ol me. As I'm sure you know many are watching so I must do my job in this extraction of information."

Suddenly a series of footfalls could be heard coming closer to the steel door. Ryuu glanced at Colter who gave her a frown and a shake of his head, warning her of who was heading their way. In return Ryuu looked back at Nathaniel with glare however she only did so to play her part as the door was thrown open. She didn’t dare break eye contact with the strange creature before her but she did speak up to those that entered. “So what brings you sorry lads to my humble interrogation cell?” addressing the half dozen men in black cloaks. Without even looking at them she could feel the power emanating from them but it wasn’t really them that she felt it from but the weapons they carried. Chomeksu began to hum softly at her fellow kin, causing Ryuu to frown in the same way a mother would when her child does something she disapproves of.

“We’ve come to take Nathaniel Jenova to a separate facility.” Ryuu tilted her head slightly. “On whose orders?” She opening questioned them, making the leader of the group stiffen. “The True Cross wishes so.” The redhead finally looked at them with one of her trademark scowls. “As they wish.” With that being said Ryuu lowered her sword, allowing for it to go back to where it was originally. “Oh before you go.” Ryuu swiveled on her foot and delivered a quick punch to Nathaniel's gut. As he could no doubt double over, the young woman placed her hand on his shoulder and she leaned in close so that he could hear her. “May Night be with you and may it protect you.” Ryuu then pushed him away as the cloaked men led him away.

To them Ryuu’s words were just some form of metaphor and in a sense it was however no one took note of the missing dragon tattoo on her arm. While she had exchanged those words with Nathaniel, she let Night slither onto his arm but he had been reduced to nearly half his size to avoid detection. Currently the Dragon Exorcist’s familiar was resting on the crook Nathaniel’s finger. With him being there Ryuu would be able to locate the man when the time was right. She just hoped the she wouldn’t get to him too late.

Feint || My Sunset

Nathaniel looked at Ryuu and smiled in great amusement as she looked back to Knight Colter, even chuckling a bit. "I think you have my idea of dominance completely wrong. How crude of you." He tilted his head as he was called 'sleeping exorcist' and mumbled to himself. "No such rest for me, I am afraid." He then straightened his head and bowed his head some. "I only see one side of things, I do not know your friend and only his perception of me. He does not trust me, therefore I do not trust him." Then he pressed Ryuu's head to his chest to make it clear then released her and began to walk around her and smiled at her resort. "Mm.. I think your friend would rather speak for himself on that matter, Ryuu."

As he walked around her, his remaining clothing covering what was necessary but otherwise, it looked like it could fall apart any time soon, but it looked like Nathaniel had no problem with it, after all he-- only hours ago-- woke up in a morgue exposed and having been cut open at one point or another. When the blade was put up to his neck however, he stopped, looking at it before running his finger along it's edge, his blood landing on the blade and most likely making a spark or two.. His blood was unusual, understandably so too since he was not really human at all but he was no demon nor angel at the same time either... He was something... completely different or-- in this case-- forgotten. "Let them watch. My information I bestow to you seems only to raise more questions. We will be here for a long time and while time does not effect me, it very much does for you."

Then he turned his head over to the steel door, his pointed ears twitching behind his silvery hair as he heard the mass of feet coming forth and he looked back to Ryuu. "Company." He noted flatly. He saw her glare, her feelings towards him conflicting to her actions, she was acting... Luckily humans were not gifted with his insight. As soon as the door was slammed open and a dozen of men came in, hooded, robed men. He listened to Ryuu's words, constantly looking back at her and decided to.. play along. "Didn't realize it was a party. Would of dressed more appropriately otherwise." He turned his head to the hooded men in confusion then frowned before looking back at Ryuu as she addressed him.. Then was delivered a blow to his gut that indeed got him to fall onto all fours, having the air knocked out of him, his breathing was a bit wheezy as well as his words. "Well, that woke me up from my slumbering..." Then he listened to Ryuu's words and looked over her form to notice her tattoo was gone. As he was dragged away, he looked confused before he finally started to kick and scream, even hiss like an animal at the men as he was pulled away. Knowing too well that if he were to fight right now, he would expire himself once again and in the company of such men and organisation, not the best thing. He would most likely land himself in a tank, a cell, god knows where... He would prefer to stay whole and conscious for the moment. He even took a good look at Knight Colter at one point before he continued to hiss, snarl, scream and struggle.. Like anyone would when taken against their will.

The Finale Pt One

Ryuu Shosuke

She watched as her fellow comrade was escorted away. Well actually it was more like dragged away as Nathaniel began to hiss and scream and struggle against the cloaked men. Ryuu knew she only had a short time frame of when he arrived at the headquarters and when they finally interrogated him. She definitely had to get him before they started that. If they did, it wouldn’t stop at just asking him questions. The Academy will surely move onto experimentation so that they may test the limits of Nathaniel’s powers. While Ryuu was unaware of what exactly he was, that didn’t mean she couldn’t help him. The power that one could gain from using those orbs is unknown at this point but Ryuu had the feeling that it was enough to really make the Academy push to obtain them. Those orbs were souls after all. Who knows what power a solidified soul held.

With that in mind Ryuu left the cell that had just contained her friend. Fiery red orbs locked onto a pair that seemed to douse that fire. Colter, unlike Ryuu, was not as trusting of Nathaniel as she was. Then again he never met the man until today so that came to no surprise to the Dragon Exorcist. They both knew the plan they were about to enact was pretty damned dangerous and they needed to move fast. The once student and teacher pair exited the building, keeping watch of their surroundings. “You know we only have about an hour to get this done right?” He glanced sideways at his student with an apathetic expression, or just one that was tired. Colter always seemed tired with those dark rings under his eyes. Ryuu on the other hand was bright and attentive. The two always contrasted against each other, making them the talk of the Academy when they were teacher and student.

“Yeah I know. There’s actually someone that I want to get. Although he has little control over it, his power is to be reckoned with. He might serve well as a distraction.” she said with little concern. Colter chuckled to himself. “What?” Shaking his head, he rubbed his chin. “I never expected you of all people to actually treat your students as if they were just assets. Maybe your more like me than you thought” The red head frowned upon hearing this. Her teacher had always been like that and she had vowed a long time ago that she would never do the same but he was right. She took away more from him than she had thought. After that had been said, the two were blanketed in silence. There wasn’t much to be said that they hadn’t already covered.

As they continued to walk in silence they weren’t exactly walking around aimlessly. A head of blonde appeared in front of them but it would seem he was talking with someone. A stranger it would seem but that didn’t stop the two from approaching them/ “Julius. Sorry to intrude but you need to come with us.” She glanced over at the man who her own student had been with, giving him a quick glance over before focusing her attention back on Julius. Colter on the other hand gave the black haired man a cold stare. There was something definitely off about this man but the Sleeping Exorcist couldn’t put his finger on it. Regardless of whether Julius had said yes, Ryuu hooked her arm through the blondes and led him away.

She made sure he was between her and Colter to ensure that he wouldn’t break away. They needed him for something and that something was rather important in what they planned on doing. “Nathaniel Jenova has been taken in for “interrogation”. He is not human, but the things he can do cannot be left in the hands of those who have him. In saying this, we are going to get him out of there.” Ryuu’s explanation wasn’t much but it more or less gave the gist of what it was they were going to do. “You will be aiding us as a distraction. I’m sure you’d be very pleased to have me say that you’re familiars are very strong however you have little control over them. For what we’re about to do though, control won’t be an issue.” All the while Ryuu kept her eyes up. Constantly looking around to make sure they were being followed.

“Have you located him yet?” he asked, referring to his old student’s familiar and Nathaniel. Ryuu didn’t answer with words instead she led them to a two story building. Colter looked up and grunted. “I’m going to assume the rest of it is below ground.” The red head glanced at him and nodded. “Alright time to get started.” The trio burst through the doors, alerting the people inside that they had unwanted company.

“Julius. Sorry to intrude but you need to come with us.” Julius was interrupted from his musings by a certain instructor he found himself less than eager to interact with lately. Despite his attitude, Julius still cocked his head to indicate he was listening at the very least to what Ryuu was saying.“Nathaniel Jenova has been taken in for “interrogation”. He is not human, but the things he can do cannot be left in the hands of those who have him. In saying this, we are going to get him out of there. You will be aiding us as a distraction. I’m sure you’d be very pleased to have me say that you’re familiars are very strong however you have little control over them. For what we’re about to do though, control won’t be an issue.”

At this point Julius couldn't keep a savage grin from his face, something like a form of validation. After all, Ryuu just said it herself - he was being picked for the simple fact that he had power while others didn't. Remarkably, Julius found out the conversation had taken place while they were walking so the atmosphere he'd previously been pondering on completely left the teen's memory.

"So how much power do we need? I've got a circle and everything prearranged for a third on me if you want it. Wait- back up, we're taking down another teacher just because he's not human? No offense or nothin, but where's that leave you if this isn't a faction thing? Julius found himself quickly back pedaling for information. After all if this was a faction thing he didn't want to take part in it - his concern was entirely focused on his own power and a faction in that regard would have too many responsibilities for him to properly focus on his work. Until he realized that Ryuu had already taken him far enough where he could back out.

"If this is a faction thing, I'm going to throw a temper tantrum you'll never forget" Strangely, Julius found himself rather resolved as he clapped his hands together and activated the summons therein. For the first time, both Aja and Regulus came out compliantly.
"Despite my short comings, I at least have that policy and won't compromise on while still backing up my declaration.
