Meredith glanced at the clock, impatiEnt. She was in an uncomfortable dress, in an uncomfortable place, at an uncoftorable time. When she would usually be spending this time in the woods, she was at another one of her father's lavish parties. "Meredith! I want you to meet someone!" Her father declared, " He is interested in courting you!" A tall man with black hair and beady eyes walked up to her. " Hello Madame, I am Marco Campelle. How are you?" She noticed him look intently at her chest as he was bowing." I'm good... I am Meredith Whitebough." she said. " Good" He shot her a sly smile. This man is certainly not going to be her husband! But... Would she have a choice?
KING GLACIES
King Gkacies was sitting on his throne, angry. And that was never a good thing. "Guards!" He called, "Where is Frederick?!" A blank faced guard kneeled before saying, " He is still translating the prophecy" The king sighed and stood up, brushing himself off. "I shall go get the worthless idiot" King Glacies strolled down the cold halls until he reached the library. He burst in on a sniveling little mage named Frederick. "Ah! King! I'm almost done..." he squealed. "Good" The king sneered. This was no ordinary paper, it was a prophecy stolen from the Prophetess. It was always right. " I'm done!" Frederick sighed. King Glacies grabbed the paper and read. That's when he flipped the table. "Blasphemy! It can't be true!" He whirled around to Frederick and grabbed him by the shoulders " You tell the army to find these Four. And kill them! They have golden eyes." He threw Frederick towards the door. The Four were not going to stand in his way.
Walking into the throne room, she saw a table flipped over and servants running a-muck. Taking a deep breath, she calmly curtsied to the king and folded her hands in front of her. "Are my orders true? Must I search for these...these children who supposedly stand in your way?" She added just a hint of charm to her sentence, just enough to make the king notice her.

With speed, Seriyth found himself packing for a "hunting trip" as he began to follow the path to the castle of the King.
Hours later Seriyth stood before the throne only to see an array of toppled objects in the throne room. Besides that he only noticed the king, a very well dressed lovely lady, and many guards.
Throwing a minor bow out Seriyth asked.
"At your command."
"Cassie! Get up this instant and help your poor mother!"
Half covered buy a small knit blanket, a petite girl stirred slightly, muttering something about 'Ice-horsey's...so pretty!... No, don't melt!' Her unruly head of chestnut curls spun around her face as she twisted on her pillow, eyes losing their scrunched up look as she began to drift off to sleep again.
Her would be sleep was interrupted by a sharp thud as her bedroom door was slammed open, and a woman looking rather like a furious chicken stalked in.
"Cassandra Metzipar Claren! When I tell you to get up, you get up and do something worthwhile for once, you ungrateful- ARGH! Put it out! PUT IT OUT!"
The last statement referred to the fact that the woman's skirt was now on fire, as Cassie had awoken with a start and spewed a small charcoal of fire at her mother with a morning cough.
Her hands flew to cover her mouth, warm gold eyes widening at the spectacle in amusement before extinguishing the fire with a snap of her fingers.
The chicken woman smoothed down the charred skirt, glaring at the girl with patience that was obviously being tested.
"Sorry Mother... You startled me..." She was trying hard not to giggle, fist pressed against her lips in an effort to subdue her smile.
"You know what? I don't care. I can defrost my herbs the normal way, with hot water and a gentle hand. I don't need a destructive teenager burning..." Her voice faded as she once again stalked out of the room.
Cassie allowed herself the smile, but it quickly turned into a frown. "Why couldn't she just have let me sleep then..."
She cast the blanket off her legs, standing and shivering in the cool air. Despite being a fire mage, the house was cold to Cassie, and she quickly had some body restricted flames licking around her legs as she moved to her dresser.
'Hmm, I wonder if the sky will be especially blue today.. it was so dull yesterday, it must have some better color...
It was a lucky thing her flame was body-restricted, or else several aspects of the wood house would have caught fire on her distracted trek across the room. She tugged on a thick blue wool dress that went nicely with her hair and gold eyes, then set off outside.
she wasn't wanted at home, so as alwways. She would head to the woods to train.
Meredith (boredly) sat next to her babbling father. Apparently "Mr. Marco" was her perfect match. "I hope not" she spoke under her breath. " What was tha- Oh look! Here he comes!" Father whispered excitedly, " Be good!" Meredith stood and walked over to meet him. Those eyes were making her extremely unsettled. "Would you like to dance?" he asked snidely. Meredith quietly nodded and he took her hands. Before she knew it, they were dancing in the middle of all the other groups. The center of attention. Suddenly, he pulled her in tight and kissed her. "Ahh!" she yelled and her fingertips exploded with water, dousing him. "Don't ever do that!" She yelled as she made her way through the crowd, to her room. She locked it behind her. Then she tore off the dress and slipped into her forest clothes. She paused a minute, realizing she hadn't been breathing. What had she just done? She had exposed her water magic, which Father told her never to do in public. "Oh..." she softly said, then silently slipped out the window. It was time for her to be healed by the forest.
KING GLACIES
King Glacies turned around to look at his two assassins. "Hmm..." He faced Arian. "Not just any children my dear, The Four. The Prophetess has foreseen that they are destined to kill me... and you know i can not let that happen" He pulled out a large map and handed it to Seryith. " Slaughter all children with Golden eyes over 13 and under 18. They can not hide from my best assassins. Now go. You have work to do" He watched them leave, then turned around to the giant window at the head of the room. "Calor. You shall be mine."

"I am Seryith the Elf, and to answer your question I'm afraid "no" will be your answer for now. "
With that he turned to face her before turning away again to walk out of the hall.
As he reached the door he raised his voice for her to hear.
"You can follow me if you will, however the face of a pretty assassin is still the face of an assassin; trust is not free. I'll meet you outside the castle when your ready."
After climbing onto her horse, she trotted around to the front of the castle and sighed. If she was to gain this man's trust, she might as well try not to coo him. "I am ready."

Meredith scaled the fence separating her house from her woods. She hit the ground and broke into a run until she reached her sanctuary. Everything was centered around a large pond. Beautiful red flowers grew in clumps across the green grass, and a white hammock hung in the middle of two oak trees. She breathed in the sweet fumes, then dived into the water. She felt immediatly refreshed and drank some of the pure water. Remembering Lila, she dived back into the water and swam until she reached a cave. She surfaced into the dry cave and smiled. Lila, an injured ferret that Meredith had been healing, was almost ready to be released. She picked up the soft black thing and snuggled her a bit, being careful of her mending leg. "My sweet" she cooed. Suddenly, a noise spooked her. Lila's ears turned up to attention. Meredith poured some grain into her bowl then cautiously slipped back into the water. She heard footsteps, and she drew her dagger.

Holding his mouth shut he seemed to be trying to keep things the way he set them. Refusing to allow himself to speak to her as a friend nor a hunting partner.
Cassie breathed in the crisp morning air with a smile, listening to the sound of her feet in the frosty ground. A short while ago, her village had been attacked by Frost Mages, but only a few people had been killed, most just injured. The small settlement had recovered well, but nature wasn't so lucky. Their fields were filled with bad, hard soil, garden plants growing weakling and taking on morning frosts that shattered their fragile leaves. The grass itself seemed to freeze over every morning, only just thawing out when night hit and froze it over again. Even the outskirts of the forest, a quarter of a mile away, had suffered.
As Cassie wandered down the dirt path towards the woods, she crossed next to a farm house, and gave greetings to the farmer, one of the few people in the village who was kind to her. The poor farmers of the town who had to rise even earlier now to counter the night frosts on their crops.
The older man and his family who owned the house and field ahead were out at the start of the field with buckets. A teenager grabbed an empty one, running back to the house where it would be filled, heated and brought back to the others, who would pour it gently over the plants. It was very time consuming, and Cassie, as always cherishing times when her destructive magic could help someone, offered her services immediately.
"Oh dear, you're a life saver. Don't be too rough, we do need them for the harvest!" Her curly head of hair bobbed with laughter, shaking the farmers grateful hand.
"I wont burn any this time, I've been practicing. Found a new property of fire the other day." She informed them, and the younger two kids stepped back, suspicious with the opinions of the other villagers.
Cassie put her right hand into a fist and pressed it into her palm, wrapping her pinky and ring finger over it, but leaving her middle and pointer finger up. It was her customary summoning pose when she tried to create large amounts of fire. "Fire Make:.... Solid Flames!" Leveling her two fingers to aim like a cross bow, a jet of fire spurred into existence, swirling into the air above the crops in a flat disc, stretching back as far as the field went. It hung there like a flat sun, flames swirling like they were encased in something, but not leaving the circle.
She held it for a time, watching the frost on the plants melt. Then the fire sputtered out and vanished without a trace.
"Thank you so much Cass!" The old man gushed with a smile. "You saved me a weary day of work! I could offer you pay if you'd only work for me..."
Cassie laughed and began to backpedal towards the road.
"I'd love to Herrick, but you know my parents would never allow it! Regardless, I'll always help if I'm walking by!" She waved and continued on her way to the forest, happy for some early training and a chance to help someone.
Then she moved deep into the forest, looking for somewhere to train, as a new place was always better than the same one.

He walked through and saw the frost mages looking for him asking around some of the other villagers. Connor smirked and conjured a vine around one of the mages torso and constrict him causing the others to try and freeze the plant as their comrad was slowly suffocating as they froze the vine and shattered it with ones sword. Connor laughed hartdley along with other villagers as the mages screamed " Shut up all of you !!! " they screamed as the leader pointed to a girl who looked around five and prepared to freeze her. Connor sprung up as the blast was released as he grew a large rose about the size of a tree. The blast hit it casing it in a beautiful glass-like coating. Connor flipped his hood off and pulled out his ba-axe. " I'm the one you want don't hurt these people. " he shouted as he swung at one with the back his axe knocking them back. The others pulled out their swords and swung but Connor blocked with the handle of his axe. He grabbed one with a vine and flung him into the leader knocking m out as the leader threw his comrad off him. He charged at Connor head on and Connor swung at the same time the Mage did. The blade snapped on the sword as it klanked to the ground and Connor kicked him to the ground and held his axe to his neck. " Tell you king to get out of Wann" he said as he pulled the axe back and the Mage scrambled out of the town. Connor put the axe back and walked to the market for the supplies he had originally came for as if it had never happened.
At the moment, the elf sat in a tree in a dense forest. He was within hearing range of Cassandra, who was his first capture of the day. Travelling would be a challenge, but Arion was sure he would be able to succeed in his mission. That being said, he pinched the herbs carefully between his fingers before jumping down onto the ground in front of Cassandra.
Normally, he would have tried giving her a chance to fight back. But he was on a tight schedule at the moment and she was one of the less aggressive members of the Four.
He quickly darted to her, closing what little distance there was in less than the blink of an eye. He placed the herbs beneath her nose. The special concoction was enough to make anyone who inhaled or consumed it pass out for a good chunk of time. After making sure she was passed out, Arion pulled her up over his shoulders and started off to a small cave he had been residing in. His next target would likely be Connor, just to see the spark he had in him.
Meredith heard voices, with a sharp accent... Frost Mages! she gasped then quickly covered her mouth. She slipped into her cave and put knife down. It would be no use against Frost mages. Suddenly, she heard slashing and cutting. Then laughter ,and the mages walked away. She slipped out of her cave to see devastation. They had torn the hammock to shreds, and the flowers were frozen. Then, in the trees, they had carved this: King Glacies shall live forever. Meredith was blinded with anger. She called out in the direction the mages had went. "Come here you damn mages!!!!" She heard rustling, then running. She positioned herself next to the lake. There were four of them, which she figured she could handle. One looked at her, and loosened up. "It's just a little girl .we probably ruined her little happy place" he said sarcastically. Then another one looked at her and freezed. "She's got golden eyes." He whispered. There expression hardened and one shot a blast of freeze to her feet. She jumped and summoned her water into a whirlpool, her strongest water magic. She launched it at them, determined to keep them inside. One burst through and ran away. Two others followed suit. Only one stayed, looking very, very angry. He shot frost and her throat and a bit hit her. She clawed at her neck until she broke the frost, but the mage was already apon her. He tackled her and help his ice right above her face. She didn't want to die. She summoned her water and shot a bit into his ear. Keeping it fast until it went through his brain. He died instantly. She sat up and pushed him off her. While the whirlpool was her strongest, her liquid dagger was her most deadly. But also the most risky. She had to be at close range, and a lot of times she aimed it wrong or wasn't strong enough to get it to his brain. And it was tiring, especially after the whirlpool. She sat up just long enough to pass out.
KING GLACIES
The King was sitting on his throne when a very disgruntled mage burst in. "King!" he cried, "a boy, in Wann, attacked us. had earth powers!" King Glacies sat up and looked at him. "What? You let a boy overpower all of you? I am displeased" King Glacies walked towards him. "What did this boy look like?" The King asked with cold anger. "Um... black hair with white-ish tips and... oh no" the mage whimpered. King Glacies narrowed his eyes and looked at him. "Why would you say oh no, dear mage?" he asked. The mage widened his eyes with fear and said, "He had golden eyes" The King whirled towards him and freezed his own hand before cutting his throat. "Worthless trash. Guards! Call for Bantell!" He yelled. A bit later, an average, middle-aged mage walked in. "Yes my king?" he asked. He didn't seem to notice the body on the floor. "That earth mage you distastefullly... violated in Wann. I thought you said she was barren." he said. "I believe she was, your highness." Bantell asked in confusion. The king frowned. "I believe not sense we have an earth magic-gifted robin hood running around Wann. And i believe he is one of The Four." Bantell sensed what was coming and slowly backed away. "Where do you think you're going?!" the king yelled and shot a piece of ice at his heart. Bantell ran and jumped out the window. Dropping 500 feet. The king sneered and went back to his throne.

"What would you like to eat?
Behind his smile he kicked himself for being this friendly to a assassin.

It was then that he heard a commotion in the direction of Redlin. It looked like the boy in Wann would have to wait.
Running once again, Arion found himself in the province of Redlin. Seeing the tell tale sign of frost mages, he began to heat up a few of the buildings in hopes that the terrified people would be able to take it from there.
The transfer of energy drained him though. He walked up to a horse, breathing heavily. Arion hopped on to the chilled animal and used it to follow the trail of destruction. At one point the trail veered off into the woods. He followed.
He soon came to a pond. The wildlife fascinated him, what wasn't frozen or dying anyway. As much as it pained him to ignore the flowers, he needed to find Meredith. He knew that she frequented these woods and if the ice mages were here, it could mean trouble.
Diving into the water, he quickly surfaced in the cave. Looking around, Arion was surprised to find an unconscious Meredith and a few mages. Seeing as though his work was done, he heaved Meresith over his shoulder and leaped into the water. He dragged her onto the shore and whistled for the horse. He attempted to make her as comfortable and least likely to fall as possible before starting back to the cave at the center of their world.
In the few split seconds Cassie had seen the elf man, for her reflexes were rather good, her imagination had decided to run free, losing any chance how ever small of a sliver, she had at escape. Of course, her imagination didn't recognize escape was needed, happily going off any filling her head with creative stories.
Perhaps he's a prince from a lost kingdom, come to save his betrothed from the clutched of the evil Frost King! ooh, or better yet, a runaway criminal, desperate to make a new life in this land, not knowing the frost king has ravaged this land! Alas, he can never go home and see his beloved family again, or he faces... oh, what is this?
When she gasped in surprise at something being held under her nose, she immediately blacked out.
~~
The crystals hung low from the ceiling, glistening with her distorted reflection as she wondered slowly through the small cave. "Hello?" She cried, not knowing which way to go. She was cold. The cave's icy walls were seeping in towards her, sending their chilled aura's to surround her, trapping her, freezing her in a solid frost box. Her hands ignited into flame, clawing that the ice, but it wouldn't met, she was trapped, taken, never to be free. Around her, through the box she could see others, three other boxes, and a figure shackled to the wall. The ice dungeons. That was where she was. Punishment worse then death. The Frost King had won. She and the others had failed.
~~
Cassie shot to life in shock, immediately smelling burning. It was normal to wake up and sometimes find her bed sheets or nightgown on fire, or something else in her room, so the girl located the fire without hesitation- except it wasn't really I fire, simply smoking chunks of dirt falling from a large patch of soot on the wall next to her. Dirt...?
"Oh my, it seems I was kidnapped." Cassie said simply. She looked around. The cave was small and showed signs of a recent camp out. "Interesting. Who could possibly want to kidnap me." She thought aloud. However, amid the various fantasies of seeing the elf earlier and besting him in an over dramatic show of fighting skill she didn't even possess, the thought to walk out of the cave didn't occur to her. After all, after something had happened, it had happened, and in Cassie's mind yo could only look over your mistakes, see what you could do better, and not try to change the outcome.
Now that she thought of it, it was quite a bleak way of thinking.
Perhaps I should change my ways.... No, that would really make to sense. I've been kidnapped by a powerful warrior, and I can do nothing to change that fact. If I escape, I'll just get taken again. After all, if someone has gone to the trouble to nab me, they must want me for something.
Cassie yawned, forming little Solid Fire figures in her hand. She was still tired from training, not to mention whatever the elf had knocked her out with. A nap wouldn't hurt.
She trailed her fingers along a fore-arm length dagger, strapped to her thigh, easily able to feel it through her dress. Hm, she could still fight with that after all, even if her magic power was exhausted.
"I do wonder when my kidnapper will come back." Cassie said to herself, not knowing that somewhere not to far away, he was already on his way with yet another.
"Oh well, nothing to do then."
With that, Cassie began hummed a song to herself, and filling her mind with images of herself, fighting wildly again Frost Mages to help the Elf regain his betrothed, skirts and hair flying with fire along her sword....
