Welcome Carnes High: Monster... er.. Human School. As monster students return to a new year they find way more than 2 human students.

3,351 readers have visited Carnes High: Human School? since ShadtheWerepire created it.

Introduction

Welcome to Carnes High a magical castle filled with monsters of all breeds. Think Hogwarts only instead of pathetic wizards the halls are filled with terror provoking monsters and ghouls. In the past the monster world there has been much debate over admitting human students into the school. Recently a decision has been made after two human students, Jaimie and Amber, survived a full year at the school, Carnes High is officially a fully integrated school where monsters will learn to control themselves around school. With this new set up humans are currently being accepted into what the monster world is referring to as a "private school for only the strongest of souls." Most humans have no idea what is really going on at the school and the monster world plans on keeping it that way with a much more severe code on monsters showing their true form and limiting student's abilities to leave the boarding school. With the humans trapped in with the monsters, will anyone survive?

Monster possibilities: Witch/Wizard(yes they appear human but they are still not considered humans), Vampire (PM me I have specific rules for Vamps), Werewolf (Once again very specific ask me before creating), Shadows (shapeshifters, feed off souls and fear), various animal human hybrids (werewolf weaknesses apply), and basically any other beast/monster/demon thing you can think of. ABSOLUTELY NO HALF-HUMAN HALF-MONSTERS it ruins the entire point of the roleplay. Do not super power your monster and they must have a weakness. Most monsters will appear human on a daily basis around school, however once school is over monsters will tend to walk around in their true forms. Most monsters normally eat humans so keep that in mind.

Toggle Rules

1. Don't overpower your creatures everything has a weakness the stronger the monster the stronger the weakness.
2. Posts can be short I'm not expecting too much writing at least one paragraph, character intros should be longer.
3. Anime style pics of characters are helpful
4. We're not strict about grammar and spelling please have common sense though and don't use chat speak or one liners.
5. I'm GM, I get the final say when something goes wrong, don't worry I never abuse my powers so I usually don't need to intervene when there are problems.

"Oh my god, Mian! I can't take any more of this music!" Briana Trosel shouted at her older brother. It was just the two of them, riding in the coven's car with the top down. Briana had asked to turn the radio on to pass the time, but Mian had turned on some horrible elven music and was singing along. Mian's singing wasn't the normal elf singing, either. Last year, he had gone to an island where he made a wish to impress a girl. He had been granted the gift of an enchanting voice. It seemed to affect everyone differently when he sang. It just hurt Bri's ears.

They argued over the radio, switching between an unnatural techno mix to the soft lyre music untill the radio was destroyed. "There! Are you happy?" Mian asked. Briana rolled her eyes adn sat back in her seat with her arms crossed. She really didn't like her brother, but her parents wanted him out of the house more so they sent him to drop her off at school. He had gone there last year, but he had changed a bit when he had. This time, Briana's parents were banking on her to change.

They pulled up to the castle and Mian started to get out. "No, stay,'" she ordered to him, getting out. Her multitude of earrings glistened in each ear. They were there to give her a special human appearance.

"Bu-" Mian complained, wanting to see if all of his old friends were there. Well in his mind they were more than friends.

"Absolutely not. Bye!" She shouted, slamming the door shut after grabbing her bag. She started walking away and reluctantly her brother pulled away. Her eyes widened at the site of the school. "Well I guess I'm not in the forest anymore," she said with a smile. She wanted anything but the forest so that was perfect. She hoped her roommates weren't crazy and she was also curious to meet these two special people that her brother had talked about.

Jenny stood high up in a tree near the entry gate looking out over the area that would become her new high school. Even though she was as high as the branches would let her she couldn't even see over the massive buildings. "Wow this place is definitely huge," Jenny exclaimed as she carefully held her grip on the tree's center. Falling from this height wouldn't be good in the slightest as she would either be severely injured or would die from the impact on the ground.

Below she heard a car pull up and the voices of two people from it. Jenny wasted no time as she gave a quick glance down to who was there. A girl being dropped off by someone that seemed similar to her. The boy seemed like a nice guy, but the girl...she seemed like someone Jenny might go after. "I guess I should get down from here. Don't want to run the risk of being kicked out before my first day even begins." With that Jenny quickly made her way down to the ground where she had her stuffed cat (the one just everyone swears is alive at first glance) waiting for her.

Upon reaching the last set of branches Jenny hopped off and landed on the ground safe and sound. She picked up her cat and dusted it off before heading off to the school. 'I wonder if I'll be in the same class as that cute girl that just arrived.' Jenny thought as she made her way through the courtyard of the school closing in on the front doors.

~A while earlier when the sun was just coming up.~
A white van pulls up the school gates, slowly making its way to a stop and giving a slight rumble as it rested. Three people get out from the van after it goes silent, two of them female and one male. They seem to be a family of three with one on the way. "Now Jenny dear, are you sure you packed everything you need for your stay here?" The older of the two females asked with slight worry in her voice as she held her stomach carefully.

"If I didn't I guess I will have to send for it later," the younger of the two females, presumed to be Jenny, replied with a joking manor. This didn't seem to put the other at ease too much.

"Now honey you know our daughter well enough. She wouldn't leave anything she needed or wanted behind." The male said as he went around to the back of the van and opened the back doors. He started to pull out some sturdy black suit cases and Jenny, apparently the daughter of the other two, came around to help him.

"Besides I am sure I will be able to get a hold of you guys when I need to." Jenny said as she and her dad finished taking out the four pieces of luggage. "Hey dad can you help me carry these to the school?" Jenny asked while picking up one of the larger and one of the lighter suit cases.

"Sure, I'll help you get them to the front doors. After that Susan and I have to get going." The male said as he picked up the other two suit cases and started up to the school with his daughter.

The walk was void of conversation but that was okay as this was not uncommon for Jenny and her parents. After all they tended to understand one another without even having to talk to each other. When they reached the front doors to the school they said their good-bye's and Jenny's dad went back to the van. Once they drove off Jenny took her stuff to the main office where she was told she could place her stuff there for the time being.

Sora was laying on the grass next to one of the ponds in the school grounds, his hands trailing lazily in the water, making thin traceries of ice where he touched it. He liked the patterns, though unfortunatly the designs melted quickly. That was the trouble with sunny days, they made him tired, since his very species was the opposite from heat...although he couldn't really call himself an Ice Dragon after he left...Whatever...I'm having fun here...they can all go screw themselves...he laughed as he used an insult he had picked up from various humans here, it was funny, but not as funny as actually being a human, which was why he was here in the first place...to learn about them. He was looking forward to this year, it promised to be fun...as long as he didn't have to put up with girls constantly flirting with him...Seriously, what part of ' I'm Gay' did they not get? Granted, they didn't often know that until he had ranted that at them, but still...
He stood up, and started to walk back to the main building, to his room as he still had some stuff left to unpack before his room-mate got there, whoever that might be...The sun shone on his white hair, making it glisten like the ice that he embodied, and he laughed again as he ran his hands through it, glad to be in this form. His true form was too bulky for him to be comfortable in it, so this smaller, teenager's form was perfect, plus it reflected his personality more: a hyper sixteen year old, which was the rough equivalent of the 500 or so years that he truly was...not that anyone would know that now...
Yep...this is gonna be fun, I can feel it...

Anabella was sitting in the front passenger seat with her bare feet up on the dashboard. Sitting next to her, dying to drive her and her sister to school, was a were-cat that she had known ever since she was little. Ana knew that her sister was sleeping in the backseat for two different reasons. One, she had stopped singing to every song on her iPod and two, the thin line of magic that connected their thoughts was nice and calm for once. Ana loooked back at her sister just as they were pulling up in front of the school.

Gabriella had her feet up on the seat and her back against the door. Her headphones blocked out all outside sound and allowed her to sleep despite the were-cat's horrible driving. There were a few empty bags of m&m's around her because she was addicted to them and there was a white and black monkey also asleep on the other side of the seat. They pulled up to the school and she still hadn't waken up yet.

Anabella got out of the car and opened the door for her sister since she didn't wake up. "Morning, sunshine," she said, sarcastically as she pulled on the door. Her sister fell out of the car since she had been leaning against the door thaht Ana had just opened. She woke up a split instant before hitting the ground and just enough time to hit her shoulders on the concrete.

Gabi sat up immediately, her multitude of bracelets cllicked together as she brushed her hair out of her face. She had straightened it and it made her layers stand out all over the place. Gabriella was still groggy from sleeping in the car so she wasn't quick to get up and strangle her twin.

"Stand up real quick you're bleeding," Ana said, ready to heal it. Gabi obliged but not before giving Ana the finger. She stood there and turned around, allowing for Anabella to access her back and shoulders where she had cut herself. "Dang it, you scratched your tattoo," she said, but waved a hand over her back. The wounds instantly healed themselves.

The were-cat had gotten out to watch the healing and looked sadly at the tattoo on Gabriella's shoulder. "I still can't believe that you got James killed," he said, gaining hmself a glare

"It wasn't me, it was Ana," she said. "If she hadn't specifically told me to keep my past a secret he would probably still be alive."

"Can we please be quiet?" Ana asked, obviously sad talking about him so the two obliged.

"Well I'll see you guys," Chance, the were-cat said before hopping back int he car. He made sure that the girls had gotten their bags (Ana's being a leather pouch and Gabi's a black and white, checkered messenger bag) and made sure that Baine the monkey had gotten out before he pulled away.

Gabriella took a deep sigh and started walking towards the school. "Let's do this," she said. She was wearing a tight black tank top, grey and ripped skinny jeans and purple converse that looked like they had seen better days. Anabela was wearing a t-shirt and shorts paired with flip flops. Neither of them knew that the school would have more humans this year and it probably was best that it stay that way for a while.... Neither of their attitude would be positive

Jenny saw someone not far from where she was, a boy (Sora Kaiabara) that looked about the same age as Jenny. With hopes of making her first friend the girl rushed over as quickly as she could without actually running. "Hey there, my name is Jenny," she said as the distance started to close to a mere three or so feet. "I am new to the school and was hoping to make a new friend. So, may I know your name?" Jenny offered a sweet smile as she held her stuffed cat in her crossed arms. At first glance chances are that the boy would think the cat was real due to the realism put into the crafting of it. As she awaited to hear the boy's name Jenny decided to walk next to him not really sure where to go for the time being.

Carnes High Private School – from the name alone, Yune had thought it would be like his previous one, stuffy, boring, and plain. He certainly hadn’t expected this majestic sight… it was a rather pleasant surprise. The towering buildings were classic in nature, the stone forms silhouetted against the sun. The grass was green, and there were even blooms that swayed in the wind. The air was perfumed by nature, unlike the city he came from. The skies were clear and the place had a strange feeling of isolation… The campus was far larger than Yune had expected. It was a rather pleasant surprise.

“Looks like my readings were right,” he mumbled, fishing out a deck of tarot cards from his pocket. He immediately slid out the card he had gotten that morning – the Hanged Man. Reversed. Change. The riddance of a limiting belief. Well – it was accurate until that last part. Yune couldn’t think of anything thing he believed in that… would cause him stress or suspension. Then again, who knew? Perhaps he was simply unaware of things to come. Either way, he didn’t really care all that much.

He stretched, relishing the feel of a cool breeze on his skin. It was a little too cold for his liking, actually. He was glad that he wore a warm brown sweater that day. The wind blew his fair blonde hair across his amber eyes, and he quickly swept it out of his face. Then, taking hold of his large bag of luggage, he set off on the path to the main school building. In the distance, he saw something that he assumed to be the dormitories – Yune could only hope that his roommates would be… interesting. He had gotten so dreadfully tired of the city that he had high hopes for this unusual private institution.

“This place just might be fun,” he mused to himself with half-hearted smile. Little did he know that he would get far more than he had bargained for. However, first things first – he had to locate the main office. After a brief scan of his surroundings, he laughed, “Navigation isn’t a strong point of mine.” There was no need to get upset over a little confusion after all – he should take things in good stride. So, with a mirthful countenance, Yune took to wandering. Surely he’d reach the main offices sooner or later.

He would soon come to learn just how accurate the Reversed Hanged Man would be.

Amber glanced at her brother with irritation, feeling crowded. Of course, both her parents had had to come, but that wasn't the worst part. No, the worst part was that Kivan had decided to enroll. She had somewhat expected Aiden to come along; she was quite sure that he himself hadn't had a ride to get to school on the first day. But this meant that all three of them were sitting in the back seat, with Amber in the center in an attempt to keep Kivan from fighting with Aiden. He was always the problem; he had overreacted when he found out Aiden was a werewolf, and now she had to constantly keep an eye on him whenever he was around them. He had been far too insistent on going to the same school as they did, she thought.

Finally, her dad stopped the carin front of the school, and she was quick to push Kivan out as soon as the door was opened, causing him to stumble. He glared back at her, but opened the trunk, where their bags had been stowed away. She ignored when his gaze went to the necklace as he turned to walk away; he knew now where the little wooden wolf around her neck had come from, and didn't like the reminder of what Aiden really was. "Amber, don't push your brother," her mother scolded. Amber only rolled her eyes. "You would have, too, if you were crowded back there," she explained as she climbed out herself. For the most part, after that, she ignored Kivan. Instead, she looked up at the school. Sure, she would have preferred if the summer break was a little longer - what person didn't want a longer summer break? - but she was still glad to be back. At least, she would have been if it had meant the escape from her brother that she had expected it to be.

She glanced at Aiden as Kivan start to hover along behind her protectively, irritation evident, but picked up her bag and turned back to the school. She looked through, focusing to identify what sort of monsters wer there already. To her surprise, she found more than the usual monsters; there was another human...one that she didn't recognize. And that one was approaching another human. She froze, looking over them. Her parents drove off as soon as all three were out of the car and the bags were out of the trunk, her mother yelling a, "Have fun!" as they went. Kivan rolled his eyes; they were only happy to get the house to themselves for the first time in a while. As soon as they had gone, she glanced between Aiden and Kivan, then back, saying, "Apparently there are more humans this year...I already see two of them..." Why were more human students here? She was quite sure that, when she left, it was still a school for monsters, with a few exceptions. So what had happened to change that?

Aiden had to say that even with Kivan, This summer had been the best he had ever had. The car ride was a little awkward one because, Aiden hadn't spent to much time in a car so he found them to be interesting whenever he got to be inside one for prolonged periods of time. And two because Kivan was in the car and was convinced Aiden was going to take Amber and lock her up in some castle or something....There were moments he wished amber wouldn't have stepped in that full moon... But that was just because Aiden didn't understand why Kivan disliked him so much. As Aiden stepped out of the Car he turned around to Mr and Mrs Stilmyst and smiled running his hand through his hair. "Thanks again for the ride on such short notice." he said quickly before Grabbing a small duffel bag that contained his few personal effects. As her parents left Aiden cought Ambers look of irritation and shot Kivan a look.

"Hey Kivan just a friendly piece of advice..only because your Ambers brother...But you might want to learn a little humility, And back the hell off. She knows how to survive here time for you to do the same. I hate to say it but your ill protect my sister act from every evil in the world becuse no one is worthy to be with her act A. Anoying and B. Gonna get you into trouble here....point is relaxe your going to draw unwanted atention to yourself, and her." Aiden whispered to Kivan.

Aidens posture shifted slightly at the mention of even more humans, "Thats not good...." Aiden said as he scanned the field as a Caw Came from above them as the large black raven landed On Aidens shoulder giving amber a slight Caw before looking at Kivan and giving a slight Hiss. Fact was he had received a letter from his sister a month ago about the changes that had occurred in the council. and he was aware there were going to be more humans but it didnt matter anymore just to wait and see how many actually showed up. "Well lets not worry about that now...lets just get you to your room and then ill take Kivan to the boys dorms and find out who he is rooming with....

Winter had been staring long and hard at the school pamphlet he'd been left with. He'd not gotten further than the gates since the taxi had dropped him off, and he was sure that if he scanned the leaflet enough times he'd discover a map, or a plan, or some sort of directions or instructions on what to do on arrival. It would be a while longer before he'd admit to himself that was he was looking for was probably in the induction pack. The one he'd left at home like an idiot.

He couldn't even think about how he felt about being sent to this new school. The literature had sure made it sound interesting, and seeing it in the flesh kinda reminded him of the haunted house from Eurodisney. But right now all he could focus on was figuring out where to go without feeling like he was trespassing on the property of some creepy old recluse in his mansion.

He dropped the sports bag he was holding in his left hand, and let both soft guitar cases fall off his shoulders. (Only one contained a guitar...the other was full of clothes.) He'd seen a couple of people wander past, and nobody seemed particularly decisive about what they needed to do.

Another car pulled up a several people got out in a chorus of the usual unpleasantries that came from a long car journey with family. He'd heard it more than once already that morning. But then he heard words which piqued his interested distinctly. "...let't just get you to your room and then I'll take Kivan to the boys dorms..." Aha! So somebody knew where the boys dorms were!!

Winter stuffed the pamphlet into the pocket of his denim jacket, and bounded over to the owner of that voice, finding himself presented with one boy, one girl and a younger boy. They seemed pretty familiar with each other (which stood to reason since they'd arrived together...) but the older boy at least also seemed somewhat familiar with the school.

"Yo yo!" he called out, closing in, "Did I hear you say boys dorms? I don't suppose you could let me wander behind you if that's where you're going. I'm new - if you didn't guess already - and I'm not gonna lie, I've got no clue what's going on. So waddya say, be a friend and show me the way?"

The engine of the car died slowly from the roar that had echoed through the early morning mist. From the driver side door a man who was average in every way stepped out into the cool morning breeze. He looked up at the looming Castle before him with a smile as he pulled his briefcase from the car and closed the door. Locking the vehicle with a click and two blips from the car he turned on the heel of his dress shoes and strode into the ancient building. Another year at Carnes was about to start… Carnes High School! For…Humans?

“This is going to be interesting…” he said to himself as he entered the class room and walked over to his desk. The ancient book shelves were gone, replaced by cabinets of ingredients. The massive transmutation circles were removed, ironically through alchemy, so that the walls and floor were bear. The ceiling that had been covered by a mystic spell to look like the sky outside was instead covered by a false star map… that while a human would say it was perfect he knew it was off.

"Hey there, my name is Jenny. I am new to the school and was hoping to make a new friend. So, may I know your name?" The girl said to Sora as she walked up to him, startling him slightly from his daydreams. The human world was so interesting...
"My name is Sora Kaiabara. I am also new here...would you happen to know where we should be just now?", He replied, hating how formal his voice sounded...they really had been so formal back home, to the point where it just sounded silly to him, especially when he heard how humans spoke now...
He snuck a glance at the cat in her arms, he wasn't a huge fan of the small mammals, but was surprised to discover that it was actually a toy, there was no warmth from it, apart from that of it's owner...it was impressive craftmanship however, more lifelike than he had ever seen a stuffed animal before. He wondered vaguely why she would be carrying it about, she looked around his physical 'age', which would normally have suggested that she would be too old for things like that...at least in his own kind's opinion...maybe human girls were different? Not that he would know either way...Still, she seemed alright, maybe she could be a friend, and he could learn from her? Subtly, of course, although he could maybe blame any mistakes he made on 'culture difference', since he looked Japanese in this form...that could also account for his formality of speech, he could pretend that he hd just learned English...normally he hated lying, but he couldn't exactly tell her what he was...

Gabriella and Anabella were walking towards the dorms, both wondering what kind of people that they would be roomed with. As they were walking, Baine hopped off of Gabi's sholder and took off running. "Oh shit," she said, knowing better than to trust the mischeivous monkey. ALl he ever did was create trouble and chaos.

"Baine, get over here right now!" She took off at a sprint after the monkey with her music blaring in her ears loud enough for those around her to hear it. It was the reason that she hadn't heard the crow's caw. Anabella followed Gabi, but not as fast. Instead, she was excited to see just which Bloodoak this crow belonged to.

Gabi turned a corner and found Amber, Kivan, Aiden and some new kid all gathered together. Baine was standing next to her, glaring at the raven. He really hated the bird and Gabriella didn't completely understand why. She began her walk over there to say hi to he group and to meet the new kid.

Ana followed her sister and immediately checked for the auras of the creatures. There was one, no two, wait THREE humans. What were all of them doing here? She thought Amber and Jaimie were the only two humans that went here. She winked at Amber, giving a sadistic smile and then looked over the humans.

Gabriella smiled at everyone. "Hey guys," she said, holding Baine to her chest tightly so that he wouldn't try attacking the crow. She then smiled at the new kid. "So you're new here?" she asked, then noticed the guitar cases. "Nice, I play guitar, too." She began reaching into her messenger bag where all of her items were held. She began to pull out the case to show him when there was a loud noise in her head.

"Stop, don't do that. He's a human and that's way too good of a magic trick to pass as just smoke and mirrors." Gabi looked back at Ana witha big question mark on her face. It had been her voice. Ana nodded, but smiled slightly. THat was the first time she had been able to convey actual words to her sister.

Kivan shot aiden a glare, which he quickly redirected to glare at a nearby building. "I don't need you to tell me what to do," he whispered back, but jumped as the crow landed on his shoulder. Where the hell had that come from?! And to land on his shoulder...on the werewolf's shoulder...probably some other bit of magic he didn't want to know about. He watched it give Amber a caw, but shook his head as it hissed at him. It would figure the thing wouldn't like him; it was friend with the werewolf. Of course it wouldn't like him.

Amber glanced at the crow, and then hesitated as the new student walked up to them, and focused on him for a second, then held in her sigh of relief. He was another human. She gave him a smile. "Well, I don't mind, and neither should Kivan...Aiden?" she asked, glancing at him, then back at the new student. Kivan had been watching him with a great deal of mistrust, so she made it a point to say, out loud, "Be nice, Kivan' I highly doubt he's going to cause trouble for you." She leaned forward to whisper to him, adding, "And he's human, so there's no need to be so...so...mistrusting!"

Kivan looked away, mumbling, "Yeah. Whatever." Amber shook her head; he wasn't going to do well here at all as long as he kept up this attitude. Perhaps she would have to purposefully lose him so that he had to figure things out on his own. But, at the same time, she knew more about the monsters than he did, and probably more than he would ever know, simply because of what she could see that he couldn't. He would need the help. "It wouldn't hurt for you to at least try to make friends while you're here, Kivan," she whispered back before looking at the new student that had approached.

"I'm Amber, and this is my older brother, Kivan, and Aiden." She was hesitant to really say her relationship with him, not because she didn't consider them to be together, but couldn't stand people who announced everything to the world, and didn't want to be like that at all. Besides, the only people who mattered, the only ones that she really thought would have to know, were her friends, and they already knew. Who needed to advertise everything to strangers?

She looked up as Arabella and Anabella approached. "Hi, Arabella! Anabella." She wasn't quite as enthusiastic about her, but seeing as she was playing nice, she could be nice, too. The twins weren't arguing, or at each others throats, so she assumed they were actually getting along, quite a change from the year before. "How was your guys' summer?"

The response of the trio was rather more positive than Winter had expected, despite the red-haired boy acting rather cagey. Perhaps that was just the aftermath of a long uncomfortable journey with his sister, as such he turned out to be when Amber made the introductions and Winter hastily locked his brain into stage two - remembering peoples names. (Stage one had been making sure he got to the right place.) He noticed the whispered exchange between Amber and her brother, but was two busy initiating stage two to think much about what might be passing between them.

"Awesome." he said, "Amber...Kivan...Aiden." He looked at the last boy, and tried to recall whether Amber had said 'brother' or 'brothers. No, no way was that last guy her brother. Kivan looked a lot like Amber, with the red hair and the green eyes and all. Aiden must be something else, perhaps just someone carpooling with them. And more to the point, Aiden was the one being friendly. "Thanks," Winter added, "a tour; that must mean you've been here before eh? Good thing we're not all noobs, otherwise it'd just be the blind leading the blind, right?"

He was also starting to feel a little conscious of the fact that he appeared to have more bags than anybody else. Well...one conventional bag, and two 'gig bags'. But what did set him at ease was the fact that the people he was meeting were visually very interesting. He noted the wooden wolf charm Amber was wearing. The scars Aiden sported (every scar has a story). And then a crow arriving on the scene?

Winter turned in the direction Amber looked when she greeted two new people, starting to get the feeling that he'd approached the right folk and put himself in prime position to shoe-horn his way into a ready-formed social circle. And the feeling only got better when he saw the recipients of the greeting were pleasant looking female twins. Na-ice. He took a step closer to Aiden to make it look like he'd been stood there chatting with the trio for ages, and waved at the twins as they came up.

"You do?" he said with a broad grin to one who addressed him, in reference to the guitar statement. He neglected to answer the question about him being new, since it was no doubt rhetorical and didn't need to be answered. "That's cool. As long as you're not better than me, coz then we couldn't be friends I'm afraid. But otherwise, yeah, that's cool. Very cool. Did you bring one with you? I'm always up for a little jamming, but contrary to how it looks I don't have a spare. Unless you wanna stretch some of my socks out on a piece of wood and try to play them."

With the last statement he jiggled the gig-bag which contained clothes, the soft sound making it clear that it didn't contain a guitar. He coughed awkwardly, and went on, "Or you could just play the actual guitar while I talk too much...like I'm doing now. Oh, and my name's Winter."

Gabriella smiled at Amber, but Anabella was quick to snap as the human called her twin Arabella. "Her name's not Arabella," she said harshly. Gabriella shot a glance at Ana for being rude. She considered Amber to be one of her best friends and she didn't appreciate her sister was sticking up for her. "It's Gabriella," Anabella finished, not bothering to explain just why her name suddenly wasn't the same.

Aiden asked Gabriella how she was holding up and she shrugged. "It's no big deal anymore since I'm pretty sure Kivan wouldn't mind stabbing you with some silver if you were to freak out due to some Bloodoak thing..." That had been her main concern. That Aiden would harm Amber because of what he was or who he had started spending time with.

Gabi laughed as the boy made the socks comment, but Ana was speaking through her in her mind again. "Yeah, considering the last person that she played guitar with is dead." Gabriella could feel the hurt in the words despite Ana's front. She was really taking it hard that James had died, even more than Gabriella was.

"I have two so I don't have to deal with your smelly socks," she made a disgusted face, but was being completely sarcastic. As he introduced himself, Gabriella nodded. "What she said," she said as she gestured to her twin. "My name's Gabriella, but you can call me Gabi. And that's Anabella and this is Baine." The monkey was very curious about the boy, having been denied any human company for a while.

The small black and white monkey hopped out of Gabriella's arms, but instead of going after Zach like she thought he would, he jumped off the boy's guitar case, up his arm and to sit on his spikey hair. The monkey leaned forward so that he could look in the human's eyes while upside down.

Desmond was quick to realize he had forgotten to check in at the main office, and hurried out the room to go and clock in. Not that he was getting paid for this, call it volunteer work, but he still had to check his mail box and do the usual teacher things. While walking there he had to cross within site of the front gate, and it was there that he spotted some Familiar aura’s. Arabella, Amber and Aiden were there as well as… was that Anabella? Wow, this was gonna be awkward…

Desmond approached them until he could see the other two powers clearly. One he recognized as Kivan, Amber’s brother, he had been told of this young man. The other was a human he didn’t know, but he would be glad to meet them.

Walking up from a zone where he wouldn’t be noticed easily, especially since his aura was hard to detect when he wore his glasses, he walked to the group and cleared his throat, “Is this a private party? Or can anyone join?” he said with a smile to those he knew and even those he didn’t. That young face of his seemed older somehow but still he could easily have been a student here… if it weren’t for the Faculty Badge that was pinned to his right breast pocket that read, ‘Professor’ in big letters.

Kivan was busy watching the monkey curiously. Apparently he didn't like the crow, either...although he seemed to like whatever those twins were. His gaze shot back to the twins when one corrected his sister, and wasn't exactly gentle about it, either. He refrained from glaring right at her, instead glancing off to one side. "I don't think you need to be so rude in addressing her...when she was trying to talk to her friend..." While he resented the werewolf trying to tell him what to do or how to survive, he knew one thing for sure; pissing off the wrong people here, when he couldn't know what he was dealing with, could mean more than a little trouble. He could fight off another human in an even fist fight, but against magic, what could he do?

Amber gave the twins a curious look; it seemed like Anabella was suddenly being defensive or Arabella...er...Gabriella. But that wasn't what caused her such confusion. She decided she'd ask about it later on, since she wasn't sure whether or not the reason was personal, or whether or not she really wanted to share the reason. She gave a short glare to her brother for interferring, to which he shrugged and returned his attention to the monkey, now on top of Winter's head. She shook her head, looking back to the twins. "Sorry. Anyway, think we'll be in the same dorm again Ar...Gabriella?" She had almost called her Arabella again, but quickly remembered Anabella's temper when she had called her Arabella before, and barely caught herself.

Kivan froze when someone interrupted, and turned to look. Already, they had been approached by four people he didn't know...and one he knew for sure Amber didn't know. He had a pin that said Professor, so that gave him a little more of a reason to be cautious. Amber gave Desmond a grin, though. She hesitated for a second as she saw the faculty pin that said "Professor", but her smile returned. "So can we call you Desmond until school actually starts, or do we still have to call you Mr. Ruler?" Kivan rolled his eyes and glanced around, trying to see of he might be able to tell the difference, as if he might be able to see things the way Amber did. But he couldn't, and so he only ended up frustrated.

A few feet into the forest where things remained fairly sheltered from the sun the ground began to rumble as a small section of earth ruptured creating what appeared to be a giant rabbit hole. From within the earthy tunnel two bags appeared to be thrown out followed by two youths.
When they were safely above ground the earth swallowed up the tunnel until it looked like nothing more than a small mole hill.

“We could of teleported” Lin muttered scathingly picking up her bag.

Freezer retrieved his own bag before crossing his arms stiffly over his puffed out chest. “The elders wanted to see us off properly this year.”

Lin made an impolite sound in response. “No your mother wanted to see us off.”

The twilight twins shared a glare between one another before making their way out from the shadows of the forest and into plain sight of Carnes High.
It hadn’t changed much. Monsters still swarmed the grounds some being new and others being familiar. None as familiar as Lin and Freezer had hoped. They were aware some had graduated from Carnes High last year- they would have been amongst them if it hadn’t been for the Bloodoak Coven calling them back halfway through the year due to Lin’s concern.

-----

Lin sent a stealthy glance in Freezer’s direction as they approached the school. He seemed much more stable now but his temper…was always his downfall. She only hoped they’d manage to get themselves through this new year without half as many disruptions as last year. Lin knew things would be better- the shock of humans was well behind her. Jaimie and Amber were no big news to her now and she’d had her fill of Liver delicacies over the summer to sustain her for a while. In fact Freezer had spoiled her endlessly over the summer with rich foods and gifts. She glanced down. She only hoped she hadn’t put on too much weight.

-----

Freezer sent a stealthy glance at Lin. She was looking towards the school like he had been. She looked much healthier compared to when they last were here. He’d spent all summer personally moulding those curves of hers and now she was a sensation! Of course he wouldn’t tell her that was the reason he was feeding her so many of her favourite foods. He turned his eyes back towards the school with a grim smile on his lips. He was going to do his best to behave this year. They both were for the sake of elders and for the sake of graduating!

Both Witches towards the main reception Freezer giving off a low growl at a werewolf who let his eyes linger on Lin. He stopped when Lin smacked him in the gut her predatory eyes trained to the side. Turning his own eyes to the side he stared himself.

Was that new humans…and the luminescent sisters

Desmond smiled as he approached closer. He laughed at her comment as he joined the circle and looked at her with a smile. Brilliant humans, always thinking always moving, even if every ounce of reason said to stop they would press on. “Well, you’re going to anyway right?” he said to her question of calling him Desmond.

Looking to Ana and Ara he also greeted them, “Anabella, a pleasure to meet you at last, tell me how is Jacob?” he asked, not really wanting an answer, that wasn’t for her, that was for him and letting him know that he knew of his existence… then he turned to Ara, “And Ara, it’s good to see you again, I intended to visit over the summer but things got hectic…” glancing to Aiden he continued his greetings. “Aiden, you’ve gotten… less hairy… well, that’s good I suppose… and you must be Amber’s brother, Kivan I believe yes?” he said extending his hand to the boy.

He had noted the new student and was leading up to him but made sure to give him a glance so he knew he had seen him there. He also noted many others in the area, and the powers he was sensing was magnificent. This school was going to become the hotbed of might in the monster world at this rate, and all right next to humans… maybe this year could be productive.

Aiyana had slowly made her way towards her new high school, her eyes had cut and shifted to those that had already arrived and already were carrying conversations. She frowned a bit and kept walking, glancing around as she brushed some of her inky black hair out of her face, Great, I just love being the new kid.. She thought darkly as her angry thought had her marching towards the school, but quickly, her movements had stopped when she realized that she had no idea were to head to in the first place. She slapped her forehead, "Why must I be sent here..?" She asked softly to herself, she new her father wanted her there simply because he knew it was a great school for strong monsters like herself, but she was surprised that he didn't pull her out after being informed that it was integrated with humans. Her calm features had slipped into a frown once more. Her father despised humans but for her, she didn't have a real issue with them. They were annoying but tolerable.

She carried her bags with ease in her arms and on her back as she waltzed into the buildings on her search for her room, her father had already gotten a room and her schedule ahead of time, the only problem was actually finding it. She didn't want to walk around asking for help again, she had too much pride like her father, she'd find it on her own soon enough.

She wandered around, growing irritated by the second that she had yet to see a hint of her room but she still wouldn't ask for help, she wasn't really social but that's kind of how she wanted it to be, sometimes she thought companions were useless and only got in the way. Her father had gotten her think that way for awhile now.. She shook the thoughts from her head and focused, she needed to find her room soon, she was getting bored and wanted to check out the surroundings of the school more.

Once realizing she was in the wrong hall completely, she was able to find her room and dump her stuff on a bed with a happy sigh, when she noticed two other beds in the room, she only stared at them for a moment before turning and locking the door behind her. This was going to be interesting having roommates, Aiyana never gets along well with females but for the sake of her sanity and temper, she was going to try to make it work before the school would end up at the north pole.

Amber grinned, but nodded. "Yes, I suppose so. But, in the presence of other teachers and the staff...I'm not so sure that they'd agree," she noted with a little laugh. She glanced at Kivan, shooing him a glare when he hesitated. After a second, the glare finally made him reach out to shake Desmond's hand. "Yes...Kivan Stilmyst." Amber couldn't help but be embarassed by him. Of course he knew his last name; he had said he knew he was her sister! But what was she going to do about it, really? Deny anyone who asked if they were siblings? No, she's just have to live with being embarassed.

Winter continued to feel everything was going really quite well, and he ran the names over in his head - Amber, Aiden, Kivan, Gabriella and Anabella. So far so good.

And then all of a sudden there was a monkey on his head, hanging forward, inverted and looking at him. Winter went boss-eyed and wondered what to make of that. Several instincts were crying out for him to shake the animal off, but something at the back of his brain was nagging him to remember that this wasn't just a monkey...it was someone's monkey. And there wasn't anyone in the immediate vicinity he was in any rush to offend. Besides, but the time he was done figuring all that out, it was apparently the monkey was doing no harm or foul anyway, and Winter event felt inclined to reached up and rub the back of it's head with his finger.

"Baine right?" he said...for some reason addressing the monkey directly. "You're not so bad. Don't hate me because I'm evolved OK?"

He watched as yet another figure approached, but found it difficult to pay full attention with the symian on his head. He did notice the faculty badge, but found it difficult to reconcile with the candid way Amber spoke to him. Did they know each other well, or was this just a really informal school?

Baine cocked his head to the side as the boy talked to him, but there was a glint in the little monkey's eye. Quickly, he sat back up on top of his head and began playing with his hair. Gabriella's eyes widened and she immediately snatched Baine off of Winter's head. She knew what came after the slight hair pulling. Baine would probably end up giving Winter bald spots and then bite his ear.

"I never thought about that, but maybe that's why he doesn't like humans," Gabriella said, putting the monkey back on her shoulder. "That or he just thinks they're yummy." Desmond came over and she smiled at him. "It's not Arabella anymore, the name's Gabriella now," she said. Her one lately had been cool and almost icy despite the nice words she had been speaking. She was also holding herself differently this year. Instead of the always wide-eyed, short little girl she had been, now she stood a few inches taller, a little skinnier and as fearless as could be.

Anabella lifted an eyebrow at Desmond. "It's not my fault you were always dead when I came around," she said with a shrug. Contradictory to Gabriella's tone, Anabella's was warm and inviting. She then smiled at Amber as if she was suddenly trying to be nice to the girl. "I didn't know you had an older brother," she said, glancing at him.
