Introduction

Chasing the Sunset

Image

The stories started by a single child's dream, he told the whole town that he would find the world of eternal youth and wealth by following the sun. People laughed at first but then some started actually venturing behind the sun trying to reach exactly where the sun would set. But the voyage soon became illegal because of all the people going, outlaws started appearing and order became chaos. Now only the bravest go out to find the land of glory and they are named Pirates. . . most never return.

Welcome to Liompas. It's a planet just like Earth but it's just a few billion light years away from Earth. Liompas is neighbored by another planet Thymuss that is very close and two times larger than Liompas, but Thymuss has no water, it has only land, so many trades are made between both planets through the Galactic Port where you find all kinds of space ships specially made advanced technology not yet discovered by people on Earth. That aside, we're focusing on Liompas anyway.
Thymuss is a planet of rock and land while Liompas is a planet of water with only one ocean name after the planet itself, the Liompas Ocean, and it has two continents on both poles of the planet (just like Earth's Antarctica and Arctic). The ocean is not salt water like Earth oceans, it is drinkable but also inhabits different creatures that are called myths on Earth.
Some of the many creatures you can find on Liompas are:
- Cetus
- Champ
- Drac
- Kappa
- Kraken
- Mermaids

Image

So this is who you are, you are either a Pirate starting a crew (you don't have to have everyone in your crew be a real character in the poleplay, you can make some people up on your ship but not too many) and you are in search of this land of glory but you face the other Pirates and the Guards. How determined are you to reach the sunset.
Or, you are Guard and you follow orders from your superiors, you sail with the other Guards (there are more than only the created characters in the RP) to stop the pirates. But maybe there are other things you want to do with your life. . .
Remember this is a different world so there are different things here, like differently powered weapons for the pirates, but the Guards are appointed with special equipment.

Guards:
Dress code - For standard Gurads and for the Commanders they place a cape over the standard uniform.
Weapon Choices - For the standard: a sword and a gun For the Commanders: same choice but the gun is optional.
There are only TWO Commanders!

Pirates:
Pirates dress as they like and are armed with weapons that they please, their ship is armed as they please as well, as long as it sail on the water.
There are only THREE crews! No more, No less!

Rules:
- If you haven't read the whole thing I'd like to tell you don't bother coming in, but I'm going to not say that and just tell you read the small infros given here.
- First of all, only two Commanders, first calls, first gets.
- Second, only three pirate crews, same! First calls, first gets
- Third, we are focusing on Liompas right now and this is an adventure where people can die (you can always remake a character)
- Fourth, Liompas is different from Earth, there are two continents on both poles and a few islands in the midst of the non-salt water ocean.
- Fifth, I WORK MY ASS OFF TO MAKE A SKELETON TO MAKE CHARACTER SHEETS PRETTY, SO IF YOU DON'T MIND FOLLOWING IT!!!!!!
- Sixth, as you can see, I don't give a damn about cuss words.
- Seventh, romance is encouraged but sex is to be taken in PM.
- Eighth, don't write one sentence when you post and don't write a book! One paragraph is perfect!
- Ninth, ask to make a crew before making one and ask to become commander on the OOC or by PM!!!!
- Tenth,. . . um. . . Have fun! This is a pretty free thing, so if you have any side story ideas than go for it, just warn me through PM so I can know a little ;)

Titus stood there, cocky smile adorned on his face as Taylor pulled his "Boom Stick" on him. Though his weapon was primitive, it could still kill him at this range. Then, Trinity came over and backed him up. Titus just stared at him and took a long drag on his cigarette, which finished it. He then blew the smoke upwards, then looked back at the two. The whole bar seemed to get quite. The smile on Titus' face grew wider, he then couldn't hold it in any longer. He burst out laughing and slapped him on the shoulder. "HAHAHA! Man, Taylor, you are too easy! It seems my gruff fearless scallywag needs a little work. It seems I'm just coming off as an asshole. Sorry 'bout that." He said with a large grin on his face. The other two didn't seemed to get it and the gun was still pointed at him. "Um, Taylor, jokes over, you can put down your powder twig now......come on! It's me!" He looked at them confused, then caught a glance at himself in the mirror behind the bar. He realized his face was covered in soot and oil and his goggles were still down. Titus then turned back to them. He raised up his goggles back on his head wiped some of the smudge off of his face. "It's me.....Titus.......Titus Tinman?" They weren't getting it. He then leaned against the bar and placed his hand over his face. "You know......Tin-Tin? I fix your fishing boat like every other week." Titus said a little embarrassed, knowing they would recognize his nickname. He then turned to Trinity. "You remember me, right? We danced last month at some celebration about something you and your crew pulled off. You stole what you thought was a golden pendant from me, but turned out to be my mechanical spider, Skamp? I'm the one who fixes all of the cannon holes in your ship! Well.....old ship I guess now. Anyway, I'm sorry about the words I threw at you. I was just trying out a new pirate persona. Anyway, to show no hard feelings, I'll do something nice for ya." Titus said with a sly smile. He turned to the bartender. "Barkeep, let it be known that anyone who joins that little girls crew gets a free round on me!" He said with a little drama. He then turned back to the duo. "See, no hard feelings. Well, Ive got drinking to do, seeing as my latest job burned into the sea. I'd join your crew, but, Ive got too much common sense. She seems like a sweet girl, but I doubt she'll be able to make the hard decisions a Captain needs too. A Captain needs to look out for the crew, not the other way around. Just my professional opinion, which no one ever seems to care about. Have fun chasing after the Land of Make-Believe." Titus said in a joking manner. He then went to his usual table, the back corner one. He ordered a mug of stout and waited for it too arrive.

Trinity Faith Morain

Trinity sighed as the man apologized and leaned over near Titus, standing on her toes so her face was closer to his. "Oh I remember you," Trinity whispered and then paused, letting Titus look her in the eyes. "The guy with two left feet," she said suddenly, pulling back and chuckled. She remembered being scared out of her mind that night as what she thought was a golden piece began to crawl up her arm. Trinity shook the thought from her head and looked back at Titus.

"I'd join your crew, but, Ive got too much common sense. She seems like a sweet girl, but I doubt she'll be able to make the hard decisions a Captain needs too. A Captain needs to look out for the crew, not the other way around."

Trinity huffed, thinking of her two or three previous captains, and rolled her eyes at the man. "You'd be surprised how much some cap'ns need lookin' after," she only whispered to herself. Trinity had started to rethink her life lately and had been thinking way too much of the little things like this. She just really felt like she needed some time to think about taking on another new ship. She had been under so many cruel captains and crew member. Trinity knew that Isabel obviously wasn't a harsh one, and neither was Taylor, but that didn't mean that the other crew mates - if they ever got any - wouldn't be.

As Titus left to sit at a table in the corner, Trinity turned to Taylor with a sigh. For one of the first times in a while, Trinity was completely serious. "Hey, Bri-Taylor," she said, her voice almost sounding tired and defeated rather than having that fierce edge that it had had moments ago. She then continued, "I'm jus' gonna head out t' the docks to get some air. Can't take this stuffed-up bar much more. I'll see Isabel and ya around later though, kay?" Without waiting for a response, Trinity turned on her heels and gracefully weaved her way through the crowds of drunkards and out of the bar.

Isabel Copperhead

She had been dancing carelessly but stopped when she noticed that Taylor and Trinity had gone back into the bar, she followed them in but stopped when she saw they were talking to someone. At first she thought he was an old friend of some sort but when Taylor took out his gun she reached for her saber to jump at the guy. Don't mess with my crew, was what passed through her mind but then she noticed how the guy was just playing a bad joke and she sheathed her sword. She was going to join them but when she got too close she heard what they were talking about:

"She seems like a sweet girl, but I doubt she'll be able to make the hard decisions a Captain needs too. A Captain needs to look out for the crew, not the other way around. Just my professional opinion, which no one ever seems to care about. Have fun chasing after the Land of Make-Believe."

"You'd be surprised how much some cap'ns need lookin' after."

Isabel was used to being rejected or made fun of and she had a very good way of not being hurt by it . . . walking away . . . They were adults they had lived so much longer than her, they had actual goals in life . . . she was only fifteen, so yes, her reason to sail after the sunset was absurd but that was also why she didn't want to even try explaining. She went back to the docks and went onto her ship, the dear ship her father had spent so much time building, the figurehead was a beautiful woman wearing a small tiara and a tunic . . . her mother actually. She sat on the back of the figurehead and gazed out at the horizon. She knew that people would never take her seriously . . . then again no one ever did, but she would still sail the seas and accomplish the rumor she started.

Lavi

Brushing past the group of people that seemed to be flitting in and out of the well-lit tavern, Lavi happily made his way over to the crowded counter, snatching up the bartender's attention. Despite the drunken, chaotic atmosphere, the redhead wasn't interested in ordering a drink. Instead, he simply asked the man if he had seen a certain blue-eyed girl or white-haired male. His smile faltered a bit when the other responded in the negative, but the soon-to-be captain just shrugged it off with a lazy grin and a warm 'thank you'.

The slightest edge of a pout seeping into his features, Lavi shifted around and scanned the popular room himself. That redheaded girl he had met a while ago really wasn't here, nor was the small kid that reminded him of a puppy (for some reason). A sliver of doubt crept up his spine, but he quickly shook it off. He was pretty sure they wouldn't stand him up—that's just not who they were. And Lavi was a pretty good judge of character. Or at least, so he thought.

Not wanting to melt into the background like all the others draped around the edges of the room, Lavi set off to get some fresh air, only to pause mid-step as his gaze landed on a certain charcoal-coated beauty. Like wow. She was cute! Not to mention, she appeared to be alone at the moment. All the better to go over and chat her up, yeah? A catlike smirk slid across Lavi's features as he strolled over to her, head held high and expression clearly devious—but friendly. "Heya, beautiful~ Mind if I keep ya company for now?" He didn't mind spending some time with a pretty girl such as herself; he needed something to do while he waited for his potential crew mates, anyway.

Lane Strayer

Lane once again found herself sitting in the tavern she started at. She sat down and ordered a drink and turned around to lean back on the bar. Once again she found herself looking for potential crew members. Lane turned around and grabbed her drink that was sitting on the counter, and once again turned to face the crowd. The snarky one in the back? No, I'd wind up throwing him overboard. The lass next to him? No, too... Frilly. It took Lane a moment to realize that she was talking to herself in her thoughts.

That was when she caught sight of a blond-haired man in the far corner. He was wearing machinery gloves and had goggles perched on top of his head. Lane decided he must be a shipwright. A ghost of a smirk came over her face. Now he would be useful. She would have to keep her eye on him. She would probably approach him when she finished her drink. After mentally analyzing the rest of the bar patrons and deciding that the shipwright was the only one worth her time, Lane allowed her thoughts to wander to more trivial things, like when she would need to buy more chocolate for the stash in her quarters. She lazily sipped her drink and didn't pay much attention to anything around her until someone in her vicinity started speaking. "Heya, beautiful~ Mind if I keep ya company for now?" Lane rolled her eyes, must have been some bloke trying to pick up a lass at the bar. When she didn't hear an answer from a woman, Lane cocked an eyebrow and turned her head a fraction to see a red-headed man in her peripheral vision. A sudden thought crossed her mind. He isn't talking to me is he? To avoid looking like a fool if he wasn't, Lane remained silent for the moment and waited to see if he would say something again.

Lavi

Taking her silence as total acceptance to his oh-so-generous offer, Lavi plopped down in the stool next to her, smile widening with every second. "Are ya shy? If you are, 'tis kinda strange for a soft-spoken girl like you t'be found amidst these rambunctious fellas, eh?" Perfectly okay with having a one-sided conversation if that were truly the case, Lavi propped his chin atop his palm, drifting closer, well aware of the lovely lady's personal boundaries. "Speaking of, are you lookin' for someone in particular? I couldn't help but notice, Miss...?" Trailing off, he lazily gestured toward her with his free hand, expression lit with benign curiosity. "You can call me Lavi, by the way."

While he awaited a response, his gaze involuntarily drifted to the entrance again. Where in the world were those two? They didn't make off and join another crew, did they? No... Of course not. Blinking out of his momentary daze, Lavi instantly switched his attention back to the girl next to him, a hopeful thought trickling into his mind. With or without the other two main members of his crew, the redhead would always need more aboard his ship. Would this girl be interested?

It was probably too late for this anyway, but the redheaded female decided to give it a chance. Hadn't there been a captain of sorts waiting for her? She remembered vaguely someone wanting to hire her for a position of a navigator. Hopefully it wasn't too late in the night to meet this so-called captain. She entered the bar with hesitation; personally she hated all the rough housing males. But, it was her one opportunity to go out and do something for a change.
She adorned a simple ruffled shirt, dark pants along with boots, and her hair tied in the back in a small ponytail. She didn't exactly care much for her appearance. What was the point, wasting time on how you look? She shook off her thoughts for the moment being, stalking along the noisy joint with a raised brow.

Now where could this fellow be?

The redhead decided to take a seat near the back of the bar, wanting her own space and of course peace and quiet. She kept there for quite some time, tapping fingers against the gnarled wood of the table before her. She hadn't found anyone yet that looked like a potential leader of a crew. Darting eyes across from person to person, she set eyes on a nearby male, finding him particularly interesting. He had bright colored hair which was most likely why she spotted him out from the rest. He seemed to be socializing with an other, so she decided not to interfere. ...but...He could very well be the one to which she was supposed to make contact with.

Lane mentally groaned. So he was talking to her. She could say she was surprised. She wasn't normally approached by people. Let alone men. She turned around fully to get a better look at the man attempting to get her to respond. His violently red hair was his most, noticeable feature. Then his eyes, which were an interesting olive color, not something Lane has seen often.

Lane snapped out of her thoughts when she heard him start talking again. "Speaking of, are you lookin' for someone in particular? I couldn't help but notice, Miss...?" That obvious? Guess I should start crew scouting somewhere else. She thought to herself. Remembering the man she had seen in the corner of the bar, Lane glanced in that direction, glad to see he was still there. "You can call me Lavi, by the way."

Lavi huh? Interesting. He's cute. Wait. Did I just call a man cute? "Names Lane." She said. "Well, Lavi, was it? Any particular reason you took an interest to me?" Lane asked, turning to face this Lavi character. She was sure this situation would leave her thoroughly amused.

Gir

As expected, this confused albino was lost. He had no good sense of direction and pretty much didn't know where this 'bar' or whatever was located, or more likely, he just forgot where it was. Damn. He probably would have had much more time finding this place if the road that had run-away pigs everywhere didn't distract him for half and hour and made him lose track. They were very adorable things though. Ah, if only he could had took one home, his life would had been complete. But then again, he already had 30 pigs and a moose back at his place, but one more wouldn't hurt. Gir blinked a couple of times to get himself back into focus and stopped in the middle of the road, looking at his surroundings.

He sighed after feeling a bit doubtful that he would never find his destination. He sat on a wooden crate to rest and think, hoping that he wasn't too late to join. What if they leave without him? Did they already hire another cook on their ship? Maybe a BETTER cook-- No. That wouldn't happen...right? But it was possible. He scratched his head. Searched for something positive in his mind. Negativity made him feel less confident in this situation. Maybe it won't happen if he started searching once more...and fast. Gir stood up from the crate and turned to his right, about to begin his search from there. However, as he was walking forward, an object suddenly went flying past him, almost hitting him in the face, and shattered on the floor. His face was in shock as if someone just jumped from behind and scared the daylights out of him. Whoa! He blinked in surprise, turning his head in the direction where the shatter was heard. From a small distance, he saw it was a bottle.

A bottle?, thought the albino, Where did that come from? He looked to his left where the object, that almost 'endangered' him, had flown from. It was a door, starting to slowly close. He had a strange feeling about this place. Was this the place he was looking for? And he was sitting 5 feet away from it? He reminded himself to slam his face into a door later if this was really it, but now was not the time. Despite that, he slowly walked up to the door, hesitating to open it. But ended up walking slowly inside. He stayed still, gazing at the scenery. Oh how the smell of strong liquor filled the air, making the albino's stomach turn. Trying to ignore the strong scent, Gir sat down on the nearest chair, searching through the rough crowd. Was that guy here? Or was he already too late?

Re: Chasing the Sunset

Uhm, hi! I'm new to RPG, but I'm eager to get started. I just had some questions concerning the RP. I already have my character in mind, but I wanted to ask if I needed permission of some sort to be a member (well, eventually) in a certain crew? Like, I'd really like to be a part of the crew captained by Lavi!

But, concerning character sheets, I'm not sure how to fill it out. I mean, I see the character fill out sheet when I go to the "Characters" tab of the RP page, but I you want us to upload a picture INSIDE the Description box? I mean, do I just copy+paste the url in there or...? Also, do all the requirements for the chracter sheet go in the description box, or do I start filling out the Personality box when I get to personality?

I'm sorry to bother you about this, but I just want to make sure I do this right and don't upset you! I hope that you all will accept me into this RP!

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

Perfect now you just need to ask the third crew captain if she accepts you in her crew ;)

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

That....took.....forever! Anywho, I submitted Titus, tell me what you think of him.

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

Well, this looks like the dogs bollocks. I definitely would love to join this rp. Ive got a pretty good Idea for a pirate character. Since she has no one in her crew, I guess I'll make my character be in the third crew.

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

May I play a stowaway on one of the pirate crews?

EDIT: Nevermind.

Enter whenever you want and yes you can have any kind of SAILING ship ;) (just no spaceship thing)

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

We need to get going! argh blargh smargh smegh! All the rps I'm in haven't started or are being stupid... LET'S GO GUYS!

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

I have to questions; firstly, when would you like me to enter, secondly may I have any type of ship?

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

Well because some people prefer being ON the water instead of hovering over it and also because you have to SAIL to the horizon, follow the ocean and reach the sunset. ;)
Please join if you're still interested ^^

Re: [OOC] Chasing the Sunset

I'm interested, but... if they have spaceships, and a galactic port, why are they sailing...?

When you said ask before creating a crew, does that mean ask before submitting a potential captain character...?
If so, I apologize ahead of time! :<
I just sent in a profile for a captain, haha. ;;
Sorry 'bout that; I could redo it / resubmit if necessary.

No it's fine don't worry, you should just give me a name for the crew . . . If you have one ^^"
