Introduction

Story

Year 2020: The major corporations of America hold more power than ever. Their money and influence has allowed them to become the primary power in America. They manipulate events from behind a shadow laced curtain. The government now votes in the favor of these corporations rather than the citizenry, and the effects are becoming evident. The gap between the lower and upper classes has become larger than ever, while the middle class has all but evaporated. Things like law enforcement have become privately operated entities. At the same time a rash of disappearances occur, all with the same M.O. All the victims were children aged 5 years and all disappeared with little to no evidence. The FBI and law enforcement are hard pressed to find any evidence. Soon the trail goes cold.

Unbeknownst to the people, these children have been kidnapped by the Law Corporation to be part of a corporate project, code name: Olympus. The children have been taken, due to their particular genetic make ups, in order to create human weapons. They will become intuitive, decision making harbingers of destruction to be sold to the highest bidder. The children are all moved to a private Law Facility in the Great Basin Desert. The facility is a sterile prison like structure with individual high tech cells for each child. The children are experimented on, tested, and examined on a daily basis. Their only moments of peace are during meals when they are allowed to gather in small groups. Their only means of escape, their new found powers, are inhibited through high tech control collars developed by Law. The children try to survive by forming small groups of friends, the only comfort in the cold prison. Over the years children die from the experiments, or by taking their own lives in a final act of defiance.

Year 2035: The dawn of the project’s fruition is almost at hand. The company has almost completed a new inhibitor that can remotely control the Olympus children. Soon they will be sold on the black market to warring countries around the world. But something goes horribly awry. Law Corps stock plummets through the floor. Through a combination of harsh competition and corporate espionage the company is close to bankruptcy. A decision is made. In order to prevent incrimination, or the seizure by another company, the head of Law Corp., Julius Law, orders the Olympus project shut down and the subjects disposed of. As the subjects are organized to be terminated a mysterious armed force raids the facility. They eliminate many of the Law personnel and rescue the subjects.

The force is revealed to be part of an entity known simply as, the Organization. They have been working to free the children for over 7 years. They present the rescued subjects with an offer. Either they can try to go back to their lives with nothing but the clothes on their backs, or they can receive new identities and be integrated back into normal society. The only catch is that they will then work for the Organization in the form of a group known simply as, Mythos. A number of the subjects agree, and are given new lives in the city of New Belfast. Those who do not accept the offer are simply dropped in the city with now aid whatsoever.

Year 2036: The subjects who chose the path of the Order have integrated smoothly, for the most part, into society. But after a year they still have yet to receive word from their mysterious benefactors. Rumors have begun to develop throughout the city; rumors of strange attacks and events that defy explanation. Suddenly out of the blue, the gods receive a message.

“Problem Children have emerged, locate and subdue.”

With that, the members of Mythos begin to move.

Setting

The city of New Belfast is located somewhere on the lower New England Coast. It is the location of a few of the country’s most powerful corporations and home to 8.5 million people. It contains a major port and is in close proximity to the Haven National Forest. The city is made up of a number of varying districts. The city is run by a mayor, he/she is usually nothing but a puppet for one of the native corporations. The law enforcement of the city is handled by two groups, the New Belfast police force and the New Belfast Guard. The police act mostly as an investigatory entity, solving crimes and prosecuting individuals. The protection of the city itself is actually handled by the New Belfast Guard, a privately owned and operated force. This group is led by a council made up of varying corporate heads within the city.

The 7 Hills: The upper class area of the city, home to wealthy individuals and high priced establishments.

Corporate Square: The major business area of the city. The headquarters of companies such as Law Corp., Lumicell Inc., and other businesses reside here.

The Basin: The poor district of the city. Here crime, homelessness, and desperation reign supreme. Many of the buildings are dilapidated or otherwise condemned.

The Docks: As the name states, this area houses the docks of the city. A constant stream of ships come in and out of this area carrying a variety of cargo.

Old Belfast: Home to most of the city’s lower middle class citizens and a number of small businesses.

New Orient: New Belfast’s equivalent to China town, it houses a number of Asian businesses and homes. Also the home base of many the city’s crime syndicates.

Factions

A number of groups are involved in the story of the children of Olympus. All these groups have their own characteristics, leaders, and motives. Some will work together and others will clash.

Mythos: The subjects who chose to accept the Organization’s offer. They now work for the mysterious entity. This is the first time in the year since they escaped that they’ve been contacted by the Organization.

Neutrals: The subjects who declined the position under the Organization. They have a hard time progressing in society with a large gap in their history and the need to hide their abilities. But for a neutral freedom is what’s important.

Hades: A group of formal neutrals who have come together to form an underground organization under the control of an unknown individual. Their motives are unclear, but for rumors of retribution.

Problem Children: Former Children of Olympus who have begun to expose their abilities, usually in a violent or dangerous way. Mythos has been ordered to contain said subjects in order to maintain the secret of the Children.

Characters

Characters are to be of your own creation. They can be a part of any one of the factions and can have any ability that tickles your fancy. But, the abilities must be within reason and cannot be undefeatable. Another thing to consider is the character’s faults. These people have been trapped in a testing facility for 15 years. They’re bound to have some kind of side effect because of it. Remember that if you create a character in anything but Mythos their position in society will be limited by a lack of official education or personal history.

There is one pre made major character that is needed though, the leader of Hades. The character is female and has a set power. If you’re interested please p.m. me.

Toggle Rules

1.) No God-Modding.
2.) No Mary Sues.
3.) I want to reiterate that your powers must have limits, don’t make a character that can open up planet sized black holes.
4.) Please, the posts must be at least a paragraph. But for the most part I’d like to see decently sized posts.
5.) This is extremely important to me, use proper grammar and spelling. If you submit a character with a sheet made up of atrocious grammer you will be denied.
6.) Places are not absolute or final. If you want to add a place please pm me and I'll have it up asap.

Layla eyes stayed fixed on the strange as he began to move, sitting up and coughing up some blood. Something about his presents made her think she had met him before but she wasn’t one to forget faces and his clearly didn’t seem familiar. She held her gun steady waiting for him to respond to her question before she pulled the trigger.

Layla couldn’t help look at the gunshot wound on his chest as she felt her hand and gun move back a little feeling the pressure of his forehead leaning on the barrel. Just because he was already hurt didn’t mean that she would be sympathetic towards him. He was clearly twice her size and so his wound would be a great advantage to her, digging her fingers in the hole would surely cause him great amount of pain. A smile spread across her face as she imaged herself hurting the already wounded man. It was his fault for entering a room that clearly didn’t belong to him.

“Yan-mei?”

Her eyes shot back up to meet his gaze, his voice sounded rather troubled as he told her about fucking something up. Her finger relaxed a little on the trigger as she realised he had confused her with someone else. Maybe his innocent. But then again why did someone shoot him. She felt rather confused about what to do next and kept her gun still pointed at him before she heard the television flicked on. She kept one eye on him and the other on the telly as she watched the news. Blood bodies laying all over the street, it looked like a war field. Layla turned her attention back towards the stranger as she was about to open her mouth and say something but he beat her to it.

“They're after me now Mei....Mythos is after me now....pretty soon they will come after you...."

The word Mythos continued to echo in her mind over and over again as she stood there frozen for a moment. Her eyes wider then usually, How dare he lead them to her. She didn’t care anymore that he had confused her with someone else, he clearly had something to do with the Olympus project which wasn’t good. Without warning like something trigger her survival/killer responses she lashed out at him. Layla jumped on him, “WHO DO YOU WORK FOR?” One hand gripped tightly around his throat and pushing his head into the mattress, while the other pointed the gun to the side of his head. “I suggest you think twice before you answer…why are the Mythos after you?” She spoke coldly as her head moved in closer towards his face to make proper eye connect and to see if he was lying or not. Her hand around his throat started to turn cold as his skin underneath her hands seemed to slowly crystallise and freeze.

Layla was not happy right now and she knew that she didn’t have much time left to get enough information out of the guy before she had to leave. If the Mythos were onto him it wouldn’t take them long to track him here especially since he was bleeding. It would be such an easy trail to follow and she wasn’t ready for the Mythos to catch up to her just yet.

Emily walked into McCain's wearing a short black dress. Off the shorlders, but long sleved. She walked proud in heals, and spotted Donavan. She walked over to him, and as she walked closer, she saw two others were with him. Her eyes narrowed on him. She took a seat across from him and waved her hand to order a drink. When the waitress came, She ordered a coke a rum. She brushed her bangs from her face, and just stared at Donavan. Taking in all of his features. Feeling the awkward in the air. "Hello."

Donovan paid little heed to the woman who stepped into the haze of the neighborhood bar. His senses had been turned down, his guard was off. So, when she sat down across from him and addressed him, the shock was on par with a heart attack. His first thought was that he was hallucinating. The stress, the booze, hell maybe even the cigarettes must have mixed in his system with dangerous results. But as Jack and Medens seemed to be able to see her too his hopeful assumption was quickly torn asunder. No, this was her, the one who'd brought him back from the brink of madness so long ago. She was older now but still as beautiful as he remembered, even with her patchwork of scars that even Mary Shelly would envy.

Yet, even with the gravity of the situation all he could manage to say was, "Hey."

Emily could see the shock in his face. She quickly assumed his reaction was due to the scars. They could be very unsettling and nerving to those whom were not used to it. Feeling her own self confidence drop, she moved her hands to cover her sholders and rested her elbows on the table. "I had expected this to be a private meeting." her words might have been drowned out by the busy bar. She didn't care though. She was trying to discover the emotion carried in this man's gaze at her. Caught in the stare down with him, her stomache started to turn a bit, yet she could not release her eyes.

Medens looked every so often between the woman and the man, though he was occupied by the food that had now been brought to him. He calmed them both slightly and tried to ease their minds, to facilitate conversation... Hopefully not enough to be noticed, but if these were normals anyway then he doubted they'd notice if he squashed their emotions with everything he had, and even if they did they couldn't know it was him... This was going to be interesting.

"Unforeseen circumstances," replied Donovan to the woman's statement.

He didn't know why, but his emotions seemed to be less forceful. They felt dulled, subdued in a way. Could it be this newcomer, Medens? Donovan pushed that to the back of his mind, something to be cataloged and revisited later. This sudden development was too significant to ignore. Did she remember him as the beast from the facility or was this just a cruel coincidence? His mind was in knots as it worked through the possible scenarios. Donovan decided to approach this as if they'd only just met, a flimsy mask but the only one he had at his disposal.

"If you'd like to talk someplace more private I'm sure a booth would suit our needs," said Donovan, composure regained. "May I buy you a drink first?"

Emily welcomed the relaxation, but knew where the sorce was coming from. This power was much like her own, that, and her posistion with time made it mre easier to pick out the users. Her gaze shifted to an unknown man at the table and she asked in a hushed tone, "Could you please not do that? I much rather feel my own emotions."

When Donavan's words hit her ears she was quick to agree to the booth.

Her eyes could see His mind was racing too. He seemed to be panicked almost. Her own ideas were in wonder of how she met this man.

Acting as if he hadn't heard Emily, he pulled away from her emotions. She hadn't exposed him, had asked politely, and seemed to be in complete control of herself. Probably a child of Olympus since she noticed him. The other, though... He wasn't sure how in control he was, and a fight here would hurt someone, which he couldn't allow. He pulled back from him as well, but looked at him every now and again, checking his mood.

He turned to Jack since they seemed to be left alone. Speaking softly so as not to be overheard, he said "So... why is it you are one of "his" men? I know it's not really my business, but I'm just... interested. He looked like he was going to tear me limb from limb if I'd hurt you."

(Hope yall don't mind me jumping in here)
“Please, I’ll tell you anything you want,” the man in the expensive suit groveled at the feet of the young man in the black leather coat, “Just ask me any questions. I’ll tell you everything I know!” the man pleaded

“Oh, I know you will, it’s one of the abilities that company you invested in gave me.” The young man’s eyes were a slivery blue color that pierced the executive right down to the soul, “there isn’t a liar in the world good enough to deceive me.’ He walked over to the tall chair that the executive had been sitting in moments ago and sat down slowly. “Oh, this is comfortable, must be expensive but hey, an executive like you can afford these kind of luxuries right?” he asked as he turned the chair to stare down the man in the corner. He was trembling in the far corner, partially hidden by a potted fern, his trousers were wet with the fear he had experienced. “Right? I thought you said you’d answer me?” He said flatly

“Ye-Yes sir, you’re right, I’m rich enough to have stuff like that.” The man shuddered in fear as he tried to hide behind the plant, terrified to suffer the fade of the others. Around the board room were several shadows, the room dark as the lights had blown. These were the lifeless bodies of the Board of Directors that this young man had killed immediately following his entry. He had burst through the doors, the bodies of the secretaries at his feet and taunted them for a moment. When one of the men had tried to stand up he simply clenched his fist and the man’s body crumpled as his head turned 180 degrees around his body. He quickly asked who was in charge, and after the executive had been found he killed the others in various ways.

“Don’t call me sir, it makes me feel old.”

“Then uh, then what should I call you si- uh I mean.” The man asked in a heap.

“Hmm, call me by what my name is,” The young man said as he stood up and went over to the other side of the room to stare out the window. Below the city was alight with the night life of it. He was on one of the top floors of a very high building, nearly 65 stores up. “It’s Gabriel by the way, my name.”

Gabriel turned and went back over to the man and sat back in the big chair. Using his powers he wheeled another one over toward the man. “Sit now Mr. Bushido, I’ve questions for you.”

The executive tentatively made for the chair, but was slow about it. Still the man named Gabriel didn’t seem to mind, he seemed to be bored and unattentative. “What- wh-what do you want to know Mr. Gabriel?”

“You invested in a company called Law Corp a few years back, right?”

The man swallowed, he had invested in it on the advice of a friend, and knew almost nothing about it in truth. “Well yes, but I-“

“Who was this friend that you invested in it with?”

“Ex- uh Excuse me?” he hadn’t mentioned his friend out loud; it was almost like the man was in his head.

“You invested on the advice of a friend, what was his name?”

“Ken-Ken Highwall. He’s a banker on the south end of town.”

“So quick to give up your friend are you? Do you know who the CEO of Law Corp was?” Gabriel asked as he looked at his nails casually.

“N-No I don’t, I only bought the shares through Ken, I-I wasn’t involved with its activities I swear!” The man assure him, standing up out of the Chair he backed up into the corner, arms outstretched, “I’m telling the truth.”

“Oh, I believe you Mr. Bushido. So tell me, do you have kids?”

The man gulped, “Yes, yes I do Mr. Gabriel, a son, in high school.”

Gabriel looked at him in the eye, the man looked away but stood firm. “You’re a good liar, but not good enough.”

“Wait, I don’t have kids but I am married, please spare me!” the man pleaded as he backing into the corner more and fell to the ground, fear letting his bladder empty. “We are trying for one!”

“No you’re not… you’re trying for a divorce.” Gabriel said as he stood and walked over to stand high above the man. Gabriel wasn’t overly large, or muscular, but he was far more dangerous than anyone this man had met. “I guess I can help with that.”

Gabriel turned and as the man begged he scowled, he actually wasn’t going to kill him, but now, “You’re annoying.” And with that he clenched his fist, and a tall splatter of blood shot up the wall as the man’s body went limp, his head now gone. Yet with the blood all over the walls around the room, not a drop had gotten on Gabriel’s jacket. “Hmm, that was dull, and I didn’t even get any good intel… oh well, on to the next one.” He walked over to the window with his hands in his pockets and concentrated, only barely though. The window exploded, the whole wall exploded in a haze as the glass and debris fell to the crowded street below. The haze however remained for a moment at the hole before vanishing.

Gabriel stepped out of the window, floating in mid air he looked about, then casually stepped down again, and continued as if walking on an invisible stairway to one of the nearby roofs. With each step a haze formed below him and then another before his next step. As he reached the roof, he casually walked over to the roof access, blew the door off with one hand, and walked down to the street.

A few minutes later Mythos would be receiving the security video complete with color and sound of the whole encounter, and the press would be all over the building, calling it a terrorist attack, some had strange footage of what looked like a man walking out of the blast and down to the buildings below. But that would soon be confiscated.

Donovan's phone began ringing just as he began to stand up. He pulled it from his pocket and flipped it open.

"Donovan Blackstone," answered Donovan curtly.

A panicked voice began speaking hurriedly. Jarvis had a hard time making out what the person was trying to say. He caught only bits and pieces, the words: explosion, deaths, panic.

"Wow," spoke Donovan soothingly. "You need to calm down, what happened?"

The voice became more familiar as the initial panic began to fade from it's tone. He recognized it as Mary, a department secretary.

"There's mass panic Det. Blackstone," said Mary. "There was a massacre in the Basin district. A bunch of officers were killed or wounded and the suspect got away. There was also an explosion in the office of one Mr. Bushido. There were a large number of casualties, but they were apparently all killed before the explosion. Witnesses claim a man leapt from the office after the explosion, but no body has been recovered. They need you down to take a look at the scenes. The chief is hysterical. Please hurry."

Donovan hung up the phone and shoved it into his pocket. Before he could be allowed a moment to gather his thoughts the phone rang again. He answered it, greeted by a voice camouflaged and distorted.

"Clean this up 034," was all the voice said.

Sweat was beginning to appear on Donovan's forehead. He didn't know what the hell was going on, and he hated that. He quickly punched a brief message into the phone and forwarded it to all known Mythos members.

It simply read: McCain's Now.

He turned to the woman who'd called him here.

"I suggest you tell me what you want now," he spoke. "and fast. I'm afraid time has become a luxury I can no longer afford."

#, as written by Vain
(I guess I'll just start here.)

The crowd cheered as the two combatants entered the 30 ft. by 30 ft. caged fighting arena. The first fighter was a tall man with short black hair and a mild, tan tint to his skin; his muscles held tightly by his gi. His brown eyes gazed at his opponent in obvious contempt and a wide smirk took its place on the combatant's face. He crouched down into his fighting stance, left leg placed forward, left arm extended, right arm drawn back next to the face, hand's balled into fists. His stance told of an eastern martial arts style. "In the left corner, standing at six feet, four inches and weighing in at two hundred and thirty five pounds; the challenger Lee Wong Jin!" the announcer boomed over his speaker amplified microphone.

Standing in stark contrast opposite him was a pale young woman with shoulder-length brown hair; a blank, expressionless look on set on her face. Colorless, pale eyes stared back through tinted sunglasses at her opponent. She did not take a stance nor did she appear if she were ready to fight at all. She shifted slightly, adjusting the sleeves of her black shirt to cover the shoulders her black fur lined coat did not. The young woman pulled on her open knuckled gloves and adjusted her midnight pants. "And in the right corner, standing only at five feet, four inches and weighing at one hundred and fifteen pounds, your champion Rei Koudo!" The announcer boomed once again followed by a loud cheer from the crowd.

"Former champion," the challenger, Lee, attested.

"Not yet big guy," Rei corrected. "You have to win first."

"Heh, I hate to fight little girls, but I'll be nice and try not to bruise that pretty face of yours. How's that?" Lee responded arrogantly.

"My, how chivalrous of you," she said sarcastically.

Suddenly the bell rung, signaling the beginning of the match. Lee approached confidently, striking out with his right foot in a rising kick. Then, almost as if anticipating the attack, Rei crouched slightly, catching Lee's heel with her left hand and smashing her right into his face. Unable to keep his balance against her force he flipped backward and face-planted. The challenger pushed himself up off the ground and regained his footing quickly. This time he struck out with a left hook and again Rei seemed to react before the man himself moved. She stepped in with her left foot, catching the wrist of Lee's attacking hand in her own, and slammed her left elbow into the man's face. Then in one smooth movement she spun inward, grasping the man's elbow with her left hand and yanking down on his wrist with her right. She pivoted her waist and flung him over her back. The impact of the back of his head combined with the trauma from her being hit in the face earlier overwhelmed the man, causing him to pass out on impact. "She's done it again! Rei Koudo is the winner and still champion!" the announcer called after half minute when Lee did not rise again.

Rei sighed and left through the cage door she'd entered. "Quite an impressive display Koudo," an approaching man in a black suit complimented.

"I thought I told you I wasn't interested," Rei replied coldly.

"Hoped you might reconsider," the man explained. "We still have a position if your willing Rei."

Rei stopped and turned on the man, "Look here, I said no the first time, no the second time, and for the hundredth time NO!"

"I wish you'd reconsider. We pay well and have excellent benefits. You'll never have to worry about getting by again. Think about it Rei. You can't keep fighting here forever. Sooner or later they'll find out your blind and they'll kick you out as disabled. Here's my card. You don't have to say yes right now. Sleep on it and give me a call. I'll be waiting," he countered, handing her a card. Rei stuffed the card in her pocket and pushed through the front door of the fight club. "I'm not going to be another one of your lackies," Rei called back......Yea, that's what she said, but the what the man had said hit the nail on the head. She knew she couldn't play this game forever. She knew gambling well, and once you play the game for so long the dealer always wins. So, what to do now? she asked herself as she turned onto Third Avenue and sat down on the bus stop bench.

Kyle sat in McCain’s pub sitting at the bar counter drinking a shot of vodka. After downing the drink he rubbed his finger on the rim of the cup and sighed. Kyle just didn’t get it he was the better actor he was the better performer the best pick for the character of Police Officer Shane Hues of the show Belfast cop, so why was he just being limited to being just the stuntman? Kyle slouched over the counter and pushed the shot glass away.

“I’m a better actor then Carter Reeds, yet they keep me a stuntman? It doesn’t make since.” He thought to himself.
As Kyle sat there on his stool three big guys, looking to pick a fight, walked over to him leaning on the bar and surrounding him on both sides and with one behind him. One to the right of Kyle was a fat guy with a goatee, the one behind him was a large black male with dreadlocks, and the one to his left was a skinny tale dude with a buzz-cut.

“Guys look its that Cop from the show on television...um whats the name again.” The fat one said.

“Belfast Cop.” Kyle said looking at goatee talking to him. “And I'm not really the co...”

“Yeah! Officer Shane Hue, you must be Carter Reeds the actor.” The skinny one said.

Kyle turned his head towards Buzz-cut “Well, acutely I'm his stun...”

The Large black man grabbed Kyle by the shoulders and threw him down to the ground.
The Three looked down at him as he started getting back up.
“If we beat badass Shane Hues up then we become famous badasses!” Goatee said.

Kyle looked at them from the ground his brows raised in shock “Are you three dickheads serious!”

Buzz-cut kicked Kyle in the mouth hard pushing some teeth in. Kyle grabbed his face and moaned in pain.

“Were nothing but serious!” Dreadlocks said. At that being said, all three started kicking Kyle while he was down. One started to stomp on his ribs the other punching at his legs, while the fat one kicked his head a few times before running out of breath.
Kyle took the beating even with his regeneration he could still feel pain, it just wasn’t as bad for him like it was for normal people and he got over it quickly. While being beaten Kyle was reliving a suppressed memory. The thugs were now, in Kyle’s mind, becoming the scientists that experimented on him.

“Experiment number 45! Seeing how Kyle Summer’s Regeneration reacts to blunt trauma by beating.” Kyle screamed for some of the beating then sees that he’s not chained like he was when in his cell. Kyle kicked his foot forward into the groin of Buzz-cut sending him into the air slightly from the force. With Buzz-cut on the ground in pain, Kyle sits up punching the Dreadlocks in the jaw and sending the guy sliding on the ground and holding his chin in pain. Kyle stands up laughing.

“You bastards! This time I test you!” he said.
Kyle walked over to Dreadlocks picking him up by the neck and lifting him into the air. Even though dreadlocks was much bigger then Kyle, his regeneration allowed Kyle to use all his body’s muscles at once and at full capacity without him getting tired, giving him a form of light super-strength.

“Test number 30: Broken Back!” Kyle yelled as he threw him face down on the ground. He then grabbed Dreadlocks by his hair and forehead and placed his foot on his spine and started pulling until the man’s spine broke in half killing him. Kyle walked over to Buzz-cut who was still lying on the ground in pain. He looked down at him.

“Test number 56: Smashed skull!” He yelled as he lifted his foot and stomped on Buzz-cuts head squishing it like a bug. Kyle stood there laughing as he looked at the mess of brain and blood on the ground. As he laughed Goatee rushed forward smashing Kyle over the head with a chair smashing it into pieces and with enough force to kill a person.
Kyle laid on the ground as Goatee looked down at him breathing hard. Kyle started getting up the gash in his head healing. He picked a piece of the chair leg up and looked at Goatee, who looked at Kyle in shock and fear.

“Test Number 5: impalement!” Kyle said stabbing the chair leg into the man’s chest. Goatee fell over hitting the ground hard.

“Timber.” Kyle said smiling.
Kyle looked around at the horrified spectators as the man to have taken a beating and was fine enough to kill the three men. Kyle looked back at the bodies, seeing that the scientists were acutely just some petty thugs again. Kyle stepped back covering his mouth in disbelief as his eyes widen. He looked at the crowd of people.

“I..uh I had a metal plate in my head..he hit the metal plate.” he said backing away from the door and running away.
Kyle left three dead bodies in McCains and few witnesses who said it was the actor from the local cop show, Belfast Cop, who killed these men.

((Going to assume Jack's not here to answer me, as it's been 19 days...))

Keeping an eye on the two who were talking, Medens looked past them, to a confrontation going on down at the other end of the bar. Unfortunately it devolved into a brawl, but there was nothing Medens could do until it was over... Interfering now would only get him hurt, and his pull on their emotions would be pointless as the fighters already appeared to be in a frenzy of punches and kicks. Expecting the one that the other three had singled out to go down, Medens readied himself to walk over afterward and help the man. But things didn't go at all as he thought they would, with the loner seeming to display some kind of resilience to the blows of the three men. Then the man started screaming something about tests and things went ugly...

During the aftermath of the fight, Medens just gaped at the bodies for about 10 seconds as the lone man ran from the bar. Then he ran over to the first man who'd been injured and started healing, not seeming to notice the dozen or so people screaming around him. Luckily, the brain continued functioning for a few minutes after the body started shutting down, so healing was possible. The broken spine mended, and Medens, gasping, moved on to the second man, but there was nothing he could do for him as his brain was gone, smashed onto the ground.

The third man's injury was the least fatal, but would require removal of the chair leg. Praying the man was unconscious, Medens wound his shirt around the end it had entered the body and pulled. With a sucking sound it parted from the body and was thrown aside. Adrenaline keeping him going, Medens healed the third man who then lay, unconscious, on the ground. He stared at the second man's face, memorizing it, then his body decided he'd asked too much of it and he shut down, passing out on the floor.

The scene was over and done with it before Donovan was able to understand what had happened. This maniac had been another child of Olympus, and a problem child in the making. The man had just annihilated 3 men, in his bar. Thankfully, the people present were all privy to the circumstances surrounding these situations. At least, everyone but the victims. This newcomer, Medens had thankfully been able to save two of the fools but at the cost of his own well being. Donovan's two sides were raging at what to do next. On one hand his rational mind told him he needed to stay and help Medens, but on the other hand the beast was raging at such a blatant incursion into its territory. Either way, this night was not getting any better.

Donovan made up his mind rather quickly, the beast was becoming near impossible to contain. He placed the unconscious form of Medens against the bar and asked the bartender to clean up the mess, than to take care of Medens to the best of his ability. The good samaritan had earned it. So Donovan took off out the door, before the changes could take hold. His hair was growing longer, his hands becoming claws, his fangs elongating, and his muscles expanding. He caught the scent of the intruder and took off after his trail. Only one thought echoed in his head like a mantra.

Not in my bar!

Kyle kept running and was able to get pretty far by the time Donovan decided to go after him. Kyle hadn't slowed down from his first burst of speed and seemed to be running far without having to stop, all thanks to his powers. Kyle though was heading towards New Belfast running as fast as he could, so that he could get to the local studio. If people thought he was Carter Reeds and not his stuntman he might have a chance of getting away with what he did, or so he thought. Kyle started laughing as he ran.

"If Carter gets blamed then I can be the new head actor for the show! But why stop with being an actor? I have powers, I could be a god among the others I could just get rid of all those bastards that got in my way of making it further to the top!" He said smiling. Kyle kept running his pace not showing signs of slowing down or needing to rest.

"I always play the hero maybe it's time to adopt a more malevolent character...gain some insight so that I can be the hero...The God that this city needs." He said. Kyle thought as he kept making his way to the studio in New Belfast. Kyle's current personality after his mind snapped was angry it was annoyed and it was going to vent it's suppressed rage that it has kept hidden in Kyle's mind for years.

This newcomer, his scent a strange mix of formaldehyde and sweat, was showing no sign of slowing down from his flat out sprint. He had been running for a good 10 minutes but was still keeping his speed steady. Donovan was gaining on him though. He'd fallen to all fours and was moving much like a wolf, almost bounding in his movements. His speed was ever increasing. He had surrendered more of his will to the beast than he'd ever done since leaving Olympus. His mind was a frantic mix of raw hunger, anger, and excitement. His features had shifted even more, his hair growing long and wild, and his eyes becoming slitted.

It was only a matter of time before he was right behind the man. Donovan, or what was left of him in the mind of the creature pursuing its prey, made a leap towards his speeding quarry. His claws stretched out and he unleashed a bone chilling roar.

Rei blinked, unable to believe what she'd just seen. Well "seen" wasn't exactly the word for it for that was long since impossible for the girl, but her sixth sense equivalent of it had allow her to watch and feel the beast pass her as it ran down a man in the middle of the street. It let out a deafening roar as it leaped at it's prey; claws outstretched in front of it. Then her body seemed to move before she could stop herself, slamming her foot into the ground as the beast neared the man. Suddenly the earth seemed to come alive and a wall of concrete and asphalt rose up between the man and the beast. It wasn't until after the deed was done that Kei realized what had happened and immediately she began worrying. I can't believe I just did that! People might have seen it. No they definitely saw. How could they miss the road turning into a wall!?

Kyle would turn when hearing the roar not even realizing that the beast was chasing him the whole time. This shocked him his senses were usual so much more keen then a normal man's because of his Regeneration, but thats not what entirely shocked him it was that roar. That roar it was so familiar like I've heard it before. Could that be the same person that I once stayed in a holding cell next too? Could that be the the person named Donovan that I over heard the scientists talking about those years back. No, it couldn't be...But I know it is. he could remember everything again his memories not suppressed any longer by his mind. Kyle jumped back in surprise when the wall of earth jetted out in front of him blocking the beast from the attack.

Kyle looked towards Rei smiling "Thanks!" He yelled giving her a salute with his index and middle finger. Kyle knew he needed to act fast so using his skills at Parkour he scaled the earth wall balancing on the top and jumping onto a near by window seal of the nearby building and climbing up quickly from window seal to window seal until getting to the roof, making it look very impressive with the speed and grace in which he did it. Once on the roof top Kyle started running again jumping from rooftop to rooftop towards the T.V studio able to make the far jumps and balance himself on thin wires when he needed too. Being a professional stunt-man and actor he was able to train for certain skills that the shows needed him to perform.

Gabriel walked between roof tops with ease, stepping on plates of hazy air as he moved across the building. He looked around with a bored expression as he sipped on a coffee he had gotten. He was bored, and had a few hours before Mythos would mobilize and realize that he next target’s name was right in the recording he had allowed them to get.

That’s when he noticed some guy jumping on top of buildings towards him like he was some action star. “Or maybe he is…” Gabriel said as he sipped again, he could see the man clearly as he jumped past him a few yards away, and thought he recognized him. So his hand shot out form his jacket’s pocket and clenched at the man. The man froze as a haze enveloped him. Slowly he was drawn over to Gabriel by a strange force all around him. Gabriel lowered the field from around the man’s head so he could hear and talk to him. He held him up and looked at him.

“I know you from somewhere,” Gabriel said and took another gulped of coffee, soon he realized where, “You’re that guy from Belfast Cop right! No, wait, you’re his stunt double.” Gabriel said disappointedly. His voice seemed to echo in the man’s head; soon his mind was feeling like it was about to explode as two minds mingled within his brain. “You’re no god guy; you’re just a freak like me. Get used to it.” He said apathetically and with a flick of his arm Kyle was pressed into the air, Gabriel released the field and thus threw Kyle off in the direction he was going before walking off in the air towards the park calmly humming to himself.

Donovan, or rather the beast now, slammed directly into a rock wall that seemingly sprang from the ground. Unable to slow at all Donovan collided with it at full force. He hit the ground hard and struggled to get up. The shock of the impact was enough to jar his senses a bit. He began to fight against the beast, attempting to regain control of himself. But his efforts were in vain as a new scent washed over him. It was like the smell of freshly dug earth, and a faint hint of lilies. The beast turned towards a girl with a panicked expression on her face.

One thought was on its mind, new prey.

The beast bounded after the girl on all fours and skidded to a halt 3 feet away. It raised itself back into a standing position and swiped a claw at her.

Kyle fell over hitting the roof of the building hard after Gabriel threw him back on his way towards the roof. He watched as the strange man walked away in the air. Kyle stood up brushing himself off and was about to make a dash forward until he shot a glance back down to the streets towards Donovan, to see if he was still being pursued. He wasn't which was good news for him but bad news for the girl that saved him from the attacking beast. I'm really going to hate myself in the morning if I let that girl take the fall. He thought. Why should we care we have to make sure we cover our tracks and make it look like Carter killed those men! No, we can do that after we get this thing away from the girl. Well we can always lead it to the studio he'll be in our domain there! Kyle nodded as he talked to his more villainies personality.

Kyle pulled out his m1911 pistol from his holster and started taking shots at Donovan.

"Hey you genetic mutated mutt I'm up here!" Kyle yelled after shooting a few rounds.

Rei ducked and rolled to the side to avoid the beast's claw. At this points she'd brought herself into a fight without knowing why the thing was chasing that man in the first place. Well, at least he got away. Now only I'll be eaten, she thought sarcastically as she rolled to her feet. No use being shy now. The whole neighborhood just saw the earth move, she thought facing the beast. Then as she was about to prepare herself to fight the creature the man appeared on the top of a nearby building. He drew a pistol and began shooting at the thing. "Hey you genetic mutated mutt I'm up here!" Kyle yelled after shooting a few rounds. Rei knew she had to act fast while the creatures attention was drawn elsewhere. Drawing in as much energy as she could she placed her palms on the ground and felt out her target. She released it and the ground began to rumble. The energy traveled through the ground, breaking concrete and asphalt as it moved, until it reached the beast. Then it split off and encircled the creature. The earth rumbled once more as the ground rose up around the creature, encasing it in an earthen prison. "Ugh, that was fun," she muttered to herself. Then she turned and shouted up at the man, "Hey!! What did you do to piss that thing off anyways!?"

The true Donovan was a prisoner in his own mind. He could only watch as events unfolded around him. It felt as if he'd been bound and gagged, the beast held the reins now. He tried to yell something to the woman, to tell her to run. He was trying to tell her, she'd only pissed it off. But to no avail, for the beast was in no mood to call off the hunt. It was surprised by the small rain of bullets and was caught off guard by the woman's trap. But it did not relent. Instead, it inhaled deeply and crouched. As the beast sprang it's full strength pushed its body from the ground and broke straight through the woman's stone cage.

Dust and sand now covered the creature that had been Donovan Blackstone. It scented its prey, savored the exhilaration of the hunt. Than it began to slowly circle the young woman, with little regard for the man above. It only had eyes for her, her sweet flesh would most certainly whet its appetite. Ahhh, the blood had been long in its arrival. The ignorant man he was forced to occupy had little taste for blood, the foolish human he was. It growled slowly, a sound of unspeakable discomfort to those around. The creature was violence embodied, a maelstrom of sound and fury.

Gabriel watched with interest from above. Saw the sheer power Donovan had at his call, saw how the small blind girl could command stone, and the man he had previously thrown wasn’t not only alive but was jumping back into the fray and firing down on the beast. He analyzed their powers from afar, his mind penetrating into theirs and learning all he could about their powers from the surface. The girl was blind but could still use the ground as a weapon it seemed, the man flying through the air had regeneration capabilities (making him the least threatening to Gabriel, at least without the gun, but for now he may actually be in second) and the beast. “You’re a little violent aren’t you?” He asked through the link he had formed with their minds. It would echo in the head of each of them and be like a megaphone call to Donovan; Gabriel wasn’t being subtle this time. He stood directly above the fray; one hand casually in his pocket, the other holding his coffee which he sipped as he floated in the air.

He knew that this beast was the core of the problem, though perhaps the other one had caused the initial confrontation. Still the monster was circling the girl and Gabriel didn’t like that. He didn’t mind men taking advantage of their physical power over women; women use their own methods on men any chance they get. However, this beast was annoying him, and to be honest the girl wasn’t too bad of a looker. Then the creature howled and Gabriel felt slightly uneasy, but overcame it. Still, the damage was done as Gabriel dropped his coffee due to the roar somehow messing with the brainwaves he had used to connect to their minds, “You, beast, you’re bothering me.” Gabriel said out loud, it echoed in several pitches in their minds.

He didn’t seem to move, or exert himself, though his eyes did seem to widen slightly. And with that the “Maelstrom of sound and fury” came to a silent and abrupt end. The whole surround was slightly simmering and hazy, as he formed fields around each of them, except for the woman. The fields would be like a vice that covered their whole bodies where they stood, or floated, in the case of Kyle. “Are you alright beautiful?” He asked out loud, it didn’t echo in their heads, he was trying to be charming now, not intimidating.

Kyle watched the fight below him. I really got myself and someone else into a bad spot. Of course you did you killed three men earlier! Yeah, but in my defense it was you that was controlling me at the time. Details, you know you enjoyed it! Yeah, maybe...Shhh, someone is reading our mind! Oh shit?! Who? The java Daves guy floating a few yards around you. Kyle looked up towards Gabriel feeling a bit invaded upon as he shot him a glare. Maybe we should get out of here, and do what we were originally planned to do. Are you kidding this guy first denies us then he's reading our minds we feel humiliated now! We do? Of course we do! oh right, then should we shoot him? Yes Lets! Kyle reached down into his pocket grabbing another clip for his gun and reloading.

Kyle popped his neck and aimed for Gabriel making sure he was going to hit but was then trapped in the telekinetic wrap. Kyle looked his body over unable to move and struggled to break free.

"The Hell! I can't move! Damnit, well this really sucks!" Kyle tried to move himself as he yelled.

Should we assume this is dead, considering it's been almost a month since anybody's posted?

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Until we have a character profile thread for the profiles not showing up, I post a link to my new character here, so that when I get around to using him people will actually know something about him.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I'm still here waiting for something to happen so I can jump back into the RP. I'm also working on my new character, but the character isn't much use as long as the RP slowly creeps along where it is, so I'm just waiting.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

where is everyone and why haven't there been any recent posts! I'm panicking here people! lol nah jk but I would like to know why its been kinda slow.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Sorry it took me so long to make a first post. At first I thought I wasn't accepted cause my character didn't show up. Then I checked a few days ago and she showed up. Made my first post yesterday and I look forward to rping with you. If you want to see my character she's Rei Koudo on the board.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Rhyse makes a very good point. If anyone who has an approved character that doesn't appear on the page could please post the link to that character's profile on the ooc it would be much appreciated. Unfortunately a lot of people who stopped playing didn't bother to delete their characters and are wasting space on the wall.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Could people who's character profiles aren't showing up but are going to be roleplaying maybe post their character profiles here, so we can actually see them? Know what the character looks like, what their powers are, etc.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Ok, I'm back and have posted in reply to the recent development. I hope this will help speed things along. Once again if you recently submitted a character and a message hasn't notified you of its denial(along with a reason why) than its been approved and you can post.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I will be gone for about a week. Hopefully a new character will post soon and start moving things along.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I'm going to be gone until Saturday, so if the new post is up before then, that's why I don't respond.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Ok so after a string of private messages and ooc posts(BTW I hate the whole "you cannot post so soon after your last post" bullshit) I have a pretty good idea of who's still playing. So on the list as of now is myself, sweet_angle66, Zuratul, Rhyse, RydeDawg, Tenaga, Paradigm IX, and Inferno XX. I also believe by the fact that they posted recently that Zacharyb and kairi.kills are still involved. I'm currently hoping that Zman will hop back on for the purpose of playing a significant villain. But even if he doesn't I am planning an event that will allow people to start posting again. I should have it posted sometime around 5:00 p.m. eastern time on tuesday.

One last note: If you submitted a character recently check to see that its been approved. If you did not recieve a rejection notice but still don't see your character on the list I did accept it. For some reason they're just not showing up on the list.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Same, im still here and checking it for replies!

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I'm staying, checking it nightly.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I'm still here, just lurking around waiting for more chances to post.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I just wanted to kind of do a role call to see who was still involved. I feel that I haven't been keeping up with this as well as I should have and am planning on fixing that. If you're still playing please let me know through the ooc board. If I don't hear from someone I'll pm them to double check. After I have a good idea of who's still playing I'll start really pushing to get the big stuff moving.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I'm still here...just waiting for others to post!!

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

No idea, I'm waiting for Donovain's response (I think, I'll have to go back and check again) so... That's why I haven't posted recently.

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

Did this roleplay die?

Re: [OOC] Problem Children

I'm going to be out of town from Wednesday to Saturday. I might be able to get access to a computer, but I might not, so I thought I should keep you informed.
