Fri Jan 27, 2012 11:52 am | stiven96 | Have been roleplaying on this site for 8 years now. I have never had any problem with the moderators. I have run a couple games and continue to run one and play in several others. I find there is qutie a variety and a ton of players. I would recommend this site to anyone. | 8 |
Wed Jun 19, 2013 8:16 pm | 1_on_a_d20 | The site used to be good, but it has gone dramatically downhill over time. The moderator staff have become curt and often abusive across the board, and they read both PM's and their internal mail system rMail, so Princess Awinita is correct, nothing you post on the site is unread by moderators. Also the rules are scattered and unclear. They intentionally make it difficult, I think they enjoy the power trip, or maybe they are just jaded beyond being humans. More to the point, there are fewer and fewer good games, a ton of games that start then die in the first 100 posts or so, often by the same group of DM's that have this habit. If you are in one of the few older games that are pretty much closed and just "yes sir" the staff and never respond to defend yourself when they contact you, you can have a good time there, but to try to find a good game there now is like finding waldo in the dark wearing sunglasses. I would just avoid it. |

Wed Sep 14, 2011 6:26 pm | Awinita | RolePlay onLine is a old site, started on 11 August 2000 by jase, the owner, the site is a relic, there are not many moderators, and those they have are not friendly whatsoever. The site relies on donations from their users to continue running on a monthly basis for server costs and have many limits to games to play. The moderators break many a rule, one of the most important the Rule of Privacy; in this case, between the user and mod is thrown out the window and posted publiscly for all to see. Not worth while. If it were possible to post a minus rank I'd give the site a five for trying to be a good site to play on, but minus one for staff 'skills' I do not recommend RPOL to anyone who wants to remain sane when dealing with rather abusive staff, If you want to play there, that is your choice, not mine, this is just my review. |
