If you read her flashback earlier on it created MORE damage from any wound she has, and she cannot do it for ever or anything.

So how I see it working is she has to heat up (like a beetle before flight) then she flies at extraordinary speeds until the energy dissipates or she stops herself (or she transfers it). I'd assume that means kinetic energy. She transfers that into a non moving item and it causes all kinds of effect...
