That joy that makes every other worry in the world fade away.

That joy that lifts you up so high that you never fall back down.

In a kingdom long ago in a faraway land, people were rejoicing. The past year’s war had been won and a feast was to be had. People of all ages, old and young, gathered in the center of town and partied the night away; even the royal family made an appearance to honor the people’s dedication during the war. It was a dream come true. It was finally over.

But oh, how they were wrong.

The morning after the kingdom’s party there was a raid. Soldiers from another kingdom, one who’d rivaled them for centuries, stormed through the streets and slaughtered hundreds. From there they overtook the palace and captured the royal family, completely overthrowing their reign and putting their very own leader on the thrown.

It was a decent into madness.

The people were made slaves, the royal family servants, and the knights were forced to convert or die. Reigning over every citizen was a man of cruel nature who cared nothing of the value of a human life. His citizens overtook the citizens of the kingdom and prospered while the previous citizens became slaves who could barely afford a loaf of bread. The kingdom had never faced such a tragedy before.

But what if I told you it could all change?

What if I told you that a twist in fate was in store?

What would you do?

Maedonia was a beautiful kingdom. Two years ago it was taken over by the kingdom of Faora and for two years the Faoran King ruled with a mighty, strong fist. Yet the King has fallen sick and now his wretched son has taken his place. He is as cruel as his father, but does not dare kill in order to get his point across. This is the only ray of hope left for the royal family, who hope to overthrow the Faora family.

A note on romance = all of these pairings will be kept rather quiet, meaning that these romances are a secret to most; the Maedonian family are servants to the Faoran family, so it is expected that there are no sexual relations – however, the Faoran Princess and Youngest Maedonian Prince have an open relationship because the Faoran King allows it (he just wants to please his daughter)

GM’s rule on romance = I don’t care if you make the romance thing big or small. The roleplay itself is basically the Maedonian family trying to persuade the Faoran family to leave their kingdom so they can return to their original glory, but as the Faoran’s servants, the Maedonians are going to have to try exceptionally hard to conquer this feat. Aside from this, romance is wanted. I will say now, though, that if/when the clothes come off, you will fade out and either skip ahead in time or take it to PM. Whichever you do, I could really care less, but sex will not be present in these posts. Making-out? Great. Minor petting? Great. But sex is a no no. Take it to PM or leave it before it starts.

Character Sign-Up and Rules

I’m not going to make a set character skeleton for this. I want to see your creativity. However, you must add: name, role, age, gender, personality, appearance (description and picture [no anime]), and a brief history (make it up, I don’t care). You should also include somewhere in your character if you are comfortable with taking romance to PM or if you would rather just fade out and skip if it comes to that time. You can include anything else you want. But don’t limit yourself to only the things I’ve stated here – I will not be impressed.

Characters can be reserved, but the positions will only be open for 48 hours. If you reserve a character, you must understand that I am allowed to tell you I don’t like your character. I am allowed to ask for changes and, if push comes to shove, I am allowed to decline your character.

Writers who apply for these roles should be literate and mature. Writing should be on a high level with knowledgeable vocabulary, correct grammar, and (mostly) correct spelling. Writers should be comfortable with the concept of profanity, love, sex, unfair punishment, rape, abuse, etc, as this is a story about life and things such as this do happen in real life.

I don’t want people to apply for a character if you aren’t going to follow through. You want the character? Fine. In submitting a character, you are telling me that you will post at least once every two days and posts will be lengthy and coordinated. Got a time problem? Tell me ahead of time and I’ll be alright, but if you tell me the day before you disappear, I’m going to have an issue. Something come up that you didn’t foresee? Two strikes and you’re out. No ifs, ands, or buts.

I really hope all of you read through this whole thing. If not, please read above. I want you all to understand the idea of this story completely. While romance may play a big part in the story-line, don’t forget the true purpose of this roleplay: to free the Maedonians from the Faorans.
