Introduction
While the Sun could warm the Earth, it could no longer provide the necessary means for human homeostasis. The skies became a polluted black and starless abyss while the ground below crusted and withered into ashes. Nature overrun the once thriving beacons of civilization, and the oceans roared in violent turbulence, claiming Asia and the Americas. The capital city of Celian, which engulfed the forgotten mountainous lands of Sweden, stands resolute, but abandoned in a silver display of the Golden Age of Nations generations past.
Over a thousand years later, the human species has colonized various planets, and established large central-hub cities known as Arcs. While every Arc is different in design, each city contains a HUB, a large central sloped tower that houses government officials known as ARC ADMINISTRATORS. While every Arc city is connected to one another through the government known as THE DERGE, each planet has differing laws according to environmental and political conditions.
Space travel is a very frequent and common practice, and by the year 4040 AD, humans have discovered means to cover vast lengths of space in short amounts of time using an on-board utility known as the Navigational-Transitioner which basically forms a rift beneath the shuttle which ejects them into a further place in space time. The distance length is limited, but can be repeated various times and is often referred to as "Skipping". For medium distances, space ships have light-speed controls that operate on three basic frequencies: Low-Light, Mid-Light, Hard-Light.
It is now 4075 AD, and The Derge have remained in power for over a thousand years. Earth is all but a memory, and only fragments of Earthen culture exist. Humanity is starting to discover that space travel has its own set-backs, and new criminal careers such as space pirates and terrorists have begun to emerge. The government is slowly losing its grip on each Arc city, while resources once again begin to dip and bow over the weight of human greed. Will The Derge maintain control, or will a widespread rebellion engulf the universe?
