Akira and Torao, two gang leaders who never got along, are often clashing blades with each other at night over "territory", even with the police beginning to crack down on the mafia in a growing town in Japan. Akira's latest swordfight with the man ended as usual, neither person could defeat the other quickly enough and had to call it a draw (again) before getting away from the scene, just barely preventing being spotted by law enforcement.

Akira is not the kind of gal to give up easily, however. She is determined to get rid of her one obstacle to running the local black market unchecked (aside from the increasingly difficult situations where law enforcement arrests people involved in it to lower crime rates). That iron determination is put to the test in this story from start to finish, as she sneaks into a church, is caught by an ever-calm pastor before telling him she is there to speak to former members of Torao's gang that claim sanctuary within church walls, then winds up ambushed by thugs still working for Torao that came to both get rid of Akira and the men who resigned, the ambush failing once the pastor's son, Nobuo, comes in and knocks out Torao's thugs (with the assistance of the guys no longer working for Akira's rival, of course (those guys consider Nobuo a de-facto leader of their little group, since he is the one who will step in to knock out anyone that threatens them or the people they care about.)))

Ever since that night, Akira must face an internal conflict raging within her: shall she continue to pursue her goal of eliminating Torao and become the sole person in charge of the local mafia, or shall she give in to her desire to spend her life with the kind, brave, stubborn son of a church leader?
