Introduction
In the beautiful land of Kahlan, Dragons rule over Humans with a iron fist. For many thousands of years, this has always been. The Dragons have begun learning the power to shift into a Human form so as to better blend in as a Mortal. One thousand years ago, the Dragon Varnor took the place of Dragon King, after his father was killed in battle. Young Varnor soon became known as the Great Dragon King of Kahlan. For many years the world flourished under his rule. He was kind and giving. He cared about his subjects.
Slowly, Varnor began to change. He became cruel and hateful. He hated anyone who wasn't a Dragon. He began taxing the Humans. They should pay for his protection, Varnor had reasoned in his mad mind. Many Mortals did not agree with him. They came to hate their Dragon King. He no longer, in their eyes, deserved the crown. The rebellion was formed by the few Mortals that were brave enough to go against the King. As the years passed, the rebellion became more bold in their attempts to kill the King. As a result, Varnor began hiring more Dragons to hunt down these Mortals who dared attempt to murder him. The rebellion would not be tolerated. His daughter, however, needed protecting and so he sent for the most skilled warrior in all of the world.
His daughter, however, wished for his downfall. She is the one leading the rebellion and so her new companion is nothing but a bother. She tests him, to see if he truly adores the Mad King. She has plans to leave the capitol though with the new Dragon, she is forced to bring him with her. He is locked away in the Rebellion's dungeons until he can prove that he is willing to help in the downfall of Varnor.

From what he understood, Varnor meant for him to serve him. Ilfirinon was unsure what made the other Dragon think that he could force the younger one to do anything. It would certainly be an interesting conversation. Silanos had been built by the royal family so very long ago. It was the only fully Dragon city that was located in the Lower Lands. All others were located high in the mountains of the world, unreachable by Humans. At one time, it had been the jewel of the Dragons. Now, however, it was no longer the beautiful and shining city. Varnor had allowed it to become a dark place. The only humans that now lived there were servants within the palace or to the Dragon families that could afford such a luxury.
As the group made their way through the streets, Ilfirinon could feel eyes on him. It was quite clear that he was not from the city, that he was a wanderer. He ignored them, following the few guards that had chosen to walk in front of him. The time seemed to drag on. Ilfirinon only wished to get this over with.
They, at last, arrived at the palace gates. It took only a moment for the doors to be opened for them. Ilfirinon kept his eyes upon his surroundings. It was clear to him that the rumors about Varnor were true. He was growing more paranoid as the days ticked by. The amount of guards that were littered about was nearly unbelievable.
Ilfirinon was led into the throne room and it was easy to see that he'd been expected. The guards that had surrounded him took their places among the others that stood within the room. Varnor was sitting upon his throne, the one beside him sitting empty. It was no secret that the King had his Queen killed.
"Ah! Just the Dragon I wanted to see." The Dragon King said, eyeing the younger Dragon. "My men have explained to you why you are here?" He asked. Ilfirinon gazed steadily at the King. He was surprised the crazed Dragon had not become instantly angered by the fact that he had not bowed to him. "Of course, my King."
"Good. Send for the Princess." He commanded two guards that were standing at the ready. Ilfirinon watched as they left, heading after the woman. "You will be protecting my daughter. The resistance will use her against me..I can feel it. I need to know that she is safe. Do this task for me, Ilfirinon, and I shall give you freedom. You will be able to spend your days alone and away from the rest of the world..as you wish to."
Ilfirinon knew that he truly had no say in the matter. Varnor would not allow him to leave alive should he refuse. Ilfirinon remained silent, even as the Princess entered the room. "My daughter..I would like to introduce you to your new guard. Ilfirinon is of great skill and power. He is to remain with you at all times. You are not to leave his sight." The Dragon King said. It was clear to Ilfirinon that there was no room for debate.
He turned his gaze to the Princess. He bowed to her slightly, his gaze settling upon her. "It is a pleasure to meet you. Rest assured, no harm will befall you while I am here." Ilfirinon did not like the idea of having to follow the woman so closely. He was certain she was not thrilled about the idea either. However, for now, neither of them had a option.
Thalia sighed as guards entered without knocking. They couldn't knock now that her father was paranoid she was talking with someone. "Get out," Thalia says as she signs a letter and pushes it to the side. The guard shakes his head. "You're coming with us your highness," he says as he comes over to grab Thalia from her chair. She pulled away, angry. They were all being a lot more liberal in touching her considering they knew she wouldn't move sometimes. They would only push her around yes, but it still annoyed her.
"I'm coming," she says as she walks out, hating the clicking of the shoes she wore. She walked into the room and listened to her father before looking to the dragon. "Father-," She begins before stopping as she sees his glare. She was on his list to watch now and she confirmed it from that one gaze.
Thalia's eyes turned to the dragon and nods slightly. "I'm sure," she says. She was almost positive this was just a man to spy on her by her father. He needed to see what she was doing probably. She didn't need protection but the daddy's little girl wasn't not going to go as a reason either.
She begins to nod as if she was annoyed which was true. She walks towards her father, ignoring the other dragon now. She didn't want him to be there and she was going to tell him when they was going to be inevitably alone. "Father, I was wondering if you will still allow me to tour the countryside. Seeing the land is going to be an advantage for when I take over someday. Unless you have anything else, I best get back to packing if that's okay with you," Thalia says as she curtseys slightly to her father before turning to go, not looking at the dragon as she moves to the door, wondering if that would be all.
Clothing: HERE!
Ilfirinon was forced to focus upon Varnor and Thalia as the Princess spoke with her father. Or rather, at him. "Father, I was wondering if you will still allow me to tour the countryside. Seeing the land is going to be an advantage for when I take over someday. Unless you have anything else, I best get back to packing if that's okay with you," It was then that the woman curtsied slightly to her father and then turned, meaning to leave the throne room. "Of course..so long as Ilfirinon goes with you. I will see the two of you once you've returned from your trip."
It was clear to Ilfirinon that Varnor did not wish to allow the young woman to go however he truly had no reason to keep her. Varnor's gaze quickly turned to Ilfirinon and the younger Dragon sighed internally. He would find a way to break from the orders of the King. He would not live to regret threatening Ilfirinon as he had.
Ilfirinon moved from his spot, heading after the Princess. He was quick to join her, walking next to her though a few steps behind her. He was silent for the time being. His gaze shifted to the woman, taking her in. It was easy for him to see that she'd had had a life in which she'd had little to worry for. He wondered..how different he would have been should he'd had such a life. Surely, he'd have been save from having the scar that stood out upon his skin.
They arrived at what Ilfirinon was certain was that Princess's chambers. He waited patiently for her to opent he door and then followed her in. He shut the door behind him, looking about the large room. He'd never seen such a richly decorated room. Well, save for the brief times he'd broken into a wealthy family's home to take what he needed. That had been quite a long time ago..before he'd fallen into seclusion.
Ilfirinon stood off near one of the walls, his gaze resting on Thalia. He decided to allow her to speak first. She knew why he was there..and at least his name. He could not imagine that there needed to be anything else said for the moment. At least on his part.
"I'm sure you're about as happy to be here as I am about it all. Then again, if you were a wealthy one you probably were payed or even took it to stare. Whatever it is, I'm sure that it won't end well," Thalia says as she pauses, not looking up.
Her father didn't realize that if she was allowed on the trip, they wouldn't come back for a long time. Longer than expected, or never even. She didn't even know what to do about this new bump in the plan. The others already were going against her, now she was bringing a dragon hired by her father to watch her every second of the day.
"Listen, I'm stronger than you might expect, you don't need to stress over watching me. Live normally and maybe we can act as acquaintances eventually. Do me a favor however, do not get in my way," Thalia says as she looks up with an almost cold look. "I'm only as frail as people want to see me," Thalia says as she stands and goes to the door to answer the knock that had just come.
Maids came in and began to pack her luggage for he trip, allowing her to go back to her bed. "I suppose I aught to learn more about you. What do you want to go by?" Thalia asks almost gentle compared to before.
"Listen, I'm stronger than you might expect, you don't need to stress over watching me. Live normally and maybe we can act as acquaintances eventually. Do me a favor however, do not get in my way. I'm only as frail as people want to see me," She continued. It was then that there was a knock on the door. Thalia answered the door, allowing a few maids to enter the room. They began packing her luggage for the trip, ignoring the Princess and her new protector. "I suppose I aught to learn more about you. What do you want to go by?"
Ilfirinon sighed heavily. He did not care for the way she'd spoken to him moments before. However, he would not say anything on the matter. There was no point. Regardless of what she said, he would watch over her as he'd already intended to. "You may refer to me as 'Ilfirinon'. There are only a very few that are allowed to call me 'Ilfir'. Tell me, Princess, where is it that we are going." He asked her softly.
He waited, allowing her to speak as she wished. He suspected that she would continue to ask him questions, something that he wasn't used to. For too long he'd been alone..and now he was expected to watch over this woman. He was unsure of how he was going to get through this.
"Ilfirinon, I don't plan boring you with meetings or anything, all you must do is ride beside or behind or in front, wherever you please, and just allow me to do my work. The job you have shouldn't take to long to hold, father won't care within a matter of days," Thalia says with a sour taste in her mouth as she said father. She didn't think he would want to protect her in a few days if he found out as planned.
Thalia sighed slightly as she looked out the window. "Let me know if you need anything. Just know this, in my world, we aren't superior to other races, so I won't act like it," Thalia says as she fiddles with a bracelet on her wrist. She wondered what his reaction would be. Would he care? Would he listen? Or would he be a devil and make others think she did believe dragons were better?
She watched him with guarded eyes, wondering but not speaking. She smiled slightly before going to her bed and pulling back the blankets only to slip in, still dressed in her day attire. She didn't feel like changing and really only wanted to nap after the already taxing day.
"Do you have anything you wish to ask me?" Thalia asks almost politely now as she looked over at Ilfirinon with her head on its pillow, comfortable in the feathery embrace.
His gaze rested on the Princess as she sighed, looking out the window. "Let me know if you need anything. Just know this, in my world, we aren't superior to other races, so I won't act like it," He regarded her for a moment before speaking. "I will keep that in mind, my Lady. However, I have brought everything that I shall need with me save for food." He paused for a moment before he continued. "I must admit that is a strange way to look at the world. There are not many that hold that sentiment. Your father would have them killed if they believed anything other than his way of thinking. You must keep it from him."
The male Dragon's gaze continued to follow Thalia's movements as she pulled back her blankets and then slipped in the bed. "Do you have anything you wish to ask me?" She asked. His gaze had settled on her as she'd stopped moving. He thought for a moment before speaking up. "Nothing that I can think of, my Lady. The King made sure that his guards were quite informative when they were sent to get me. Please..I would not have my presence bother you. You needn't worry. I won't be a noticeable bother, I assure you."
He did not wish to keep speaking with her..it just felt..awkward. He was certain that it was obvious that he was unused to speaking with anyone. He closed his eyes as he was leaning against the wall. He would not sleep though he would give the illusion of it. He would not move until the young woman awoke.
She had a pit in her stomach for the plan she held was one that was going to be dangerous and of course, very well could be deadly, not for her though. She slept then, peacefully and eagerly. She would not have a chance to sleep again for days if everything went according to plan, that is, the resistance intercepted at the right point.
------------------
Thalia woke later that night when it was dark, they were scheduled on her father's calender to leave at dawn though on everyone else in the palace's at nightfall. She stood and allowed herself to be prepared for the journey in the powder room briefly before walking back out and pulling her hair back from her face, but not all the way up. She grabbed her blue cloak and swept it around her shoulders as she fastened the pin at her throat. She was nervous. That was true.
She looked at Ilfirinon for a moment, wondering if he was awake or asleep, but only seeing the steady breathing one sleeping usually had. She felt bad, but she didn't want him in the way and she certainly wasn't going to allow him to threaten the plan. If he was a spy, he would kill her as soon as he saw her loyalties.
Slipping from her room, she closed the door only to hear the pounding feet of soldiers and guards, running for her door. There lay a dead maid on the ground outside her doors and she stole her gaze away, fearing sickness as a wave passed over. Her father found out, he must know something was happening. Maybe he just wanted to do something else, but the fear that she was caught rushed through her. The ransom letter wasn't to come in until tomorrow morning, but the idiotic head of the resistance in her absence must have sent it early to give reason for her father to take action, or he really did know.
When she rushed back into her room, she discovered the letters on her desk to be missing. The ones that were to go to the resistance gone. Someone had come in, taken them, and when questioned by an incoming maid, killed her before running to tell her father what he discovered. It would take a lot of time and skill to get out of this situation, only one which Thalia believed she had, and time was certainly not it. The doors of her room pounded as the dragons banged on the door. She looked to the window, as the doors burst open.
"Ilfirinon," Thalia called out as they approached. She needed to get out of the palace and the only way she could do it was with the his help though even he couldn't hold off thirty guards, maybe he could help buy time though...
He dreamed of her. A vision of beauty and terror. He recalled their history together, the life they'd once had. A time that would never leave Ilfirinon's memory. Rhesdra had been everything that he'd ever wanted and yet she had nearly caused his death. Every time that he closed his eyes, he would relive that moment..when she'd attacked him.
The moment the Princess moved, the male Dragon shifted slightly though he kept his eyes shut. There was no need for him to move just yet. What the Dragon had not expected was for the woman to leave the room. His eyes opened in that moment. However, he had no time to move before the Princess had returned. He watched as she moved to her desk, looking for something. Pounding on the door stole his attention. They certainly didn't sound happy. He quickly moved from his spot moving across the room to stand behind the spot that would be hidden if the door opened. He made it just in time to see Thalia looking out a window and then the door busted open.
"Ilfirinon," The woman called out. What the male Dragon couldn't understand was why the guards were after the Princess. There were at least twenty or thirty guards from what he could tell and they were quickly making their way to Thalia. He moved then, quickly. Ilfirinon closed the distance between him and the Princess quicker than the guards were able to react.
He placed himself between the guards and the Princess. They needed to get out of the palace. That much was clear to him. The guard that was closest to them demanded he move out of the way, that they only wanted the Princess. They did not give him a reason and honestly he did not care. Varnor had demanded him to protect the woman, no matter what. This, he would do.
His gaze rested upon the closest guard. The man had a sword out, as if trying to threaten Ilfirinon. When it was clear that the pale Dragon was not at all bothered by the Dragon that was loyal to Varnor. He lunged at Ilfirinon, obviously trying to wound him. Ilfirinon reacted the moment the other Dragon was close. He pulled his own sword out, meeting the other man's sword. Ilfirinon stopped the other Dragon's movement, not allowing him to get any closer to the Princess. They continued throwing blows at each other, the other guards watching, waiting for the command to move forward.
It was as Ilfirinon's current opponent began faltering that the others decided it best to move closer, to join the fight. Ilfirinon knew that he could not hold them all off. He glanced back at Thalia and then to the window. He suddenly placed his sword back into its sheath and then turned quickly closing the distance between him and the Princess. He grabbed her around her middle, pulling her close to him. Ilfirinon turned around so that Thalia's back was to the guards. He then threw himself backwards, through the window. Glass shatter around him though the Princess was protected from the shards. Which is why he'd gone first. They were now falling through the air, heading straight for the tall towers of the palace.
He had no idea how quickly the woman could shift into her true form and did not ask. He released her then, allowing his form to change quickly. His wings stopped his descent, saving him from falling to his death. He quickly turned his head, looking for the Princess. He would save her should she need it. Though truthfully he was curious as to her true form. Though, they only had a short time before the guards would be after them once again.

She grasped at her stomach, feeling blood through the thin dress and seeing the stain form. The cloak hid it from the others sight thankfully. She reached for the bag holding the letters that could give her side away while her other hand held her stomach as she tried to staunch the blood flow. When Thalia was grabbed, she tensed until she saw it to be Ilfirnon. As they fell, she saw the towers as they rushed up to meet them before she lost her hold on him as he let go.
She held her breath, the adrenaline taking the pain away as she put the bag around her shoulder, changing quickly into a dragon noticeably smaller than Ilfirnon. She watched as more dragons began to follow and knew she had no hope of flying far with her wound that didn't show as a dragon in the dark light of the early night. She glided more so than flew to Ilfirnon, staying small to go faster. As they flew, she saw the other dragons approaching quickly as she slowed, feeling lightheaded.
She glided down to the forest below, the city out of sight, changing as she got close to the ground and walking only a few steps before falling and holding her side in pain. She didn't think an artery was severed though she felt the burning very clearly. The light from the moon comes down to reflect off her hair, making it seem more white though now she could see some strands were turned red from blood.
Her eyelids fluttered slightly as she felt the blood loss now. Her bag was somewhere nearby after coming off during the change and the trees above her. She wondered if Ilfirnon would find her or if she would die there and then. She didn't want to die, but she also didn't want to admit that she did need the other dragon after her father and all. She rolled over slightly, looking down to the right side of her stomach to see what looked to be a rather deep cut.
She knew it was risky, but she would die in her current state. "Ilfirnon," She calls weakly, hoping he would have noticed her disappearance from the sky though she wasn't sure if he would or not what with the pursuit from the other dragons.
He quickly turned his body, heading towards the Dragons that were closest to where Thalia had disappeared. He opened his mouth, allowing brilliantly colored flames to spring forth. He hoped that it was enough to distract them all. At least to get them away from the location where the young woman had headed. It would buy them some time. It worked. They turned together, heading towards the Dragon that had been brought in by the King.
The male Dragon led the way from the Princess. Once he was a fair distance away, he quickly lowered himself as she had done. When he was low, nearly touching the treetops, he allowed his form to shift once again. He fell through the trees, though caught himself on one of the branches before he was able to gain any wounds that were greater than a few scratches. He then quickly dropped himself to the forest floor. He needed to get to Thalia. He did not like her being out of his sight.
He glanced above, seeing the other Dragons turning. They were intent upon finding the Princess. He needed to get to her first. He quickly took off in the direction he'd seen her go in, running as quickly as he could. He had no idea how long he'd been running when he'd heard the woman's voice. "Ilfirinon." Her weak call only caused him to run faster. The other Dragons could have heard her.
When he finally came upon her, the sight that greeted him was not one he'd been expecting. She was wounded, that much was clear. He quickly reached her, crouching down at her side. He allowed his eyes to roam over her for a moment before reaching a hand out towards her side. He moved her hand out of the way and then began inspecting the wound. It was deep and if left untreated she would not survive. He needed to act quickly. He had some supplies that he always kept on him when traveling. He'd been fortunate enough to have left the palace with his pack. He quickly dug into it and pulled out what he needed.
Ilfirinon then turned back to the Princess. "You'll need to be quiet...it would not do good for them to find us as I am trying to bandage you." He said quietly. He then proceeded to treat the wound. He needed only to get it compressed. He would have to properly bandage her up once they were safe. Once he was certain that she would survive until they found a place to camp, he rose and then scooped her up in his arms. He doubted the guards would find them but he did not wish to risk it. He began walking through the forest, heading towards a cave that he recalled passing in his search for her.
She huffed softly as she held on to Ilfirinon, not wanting to fall. She could feel the burning in her side as they moved. Him bandaging it quickly was rather painful though she had been able to keep the moans at bay and turn it into faint gasps as she tried to breathe through it all, hoping not to draw attention to them.
"We're going to die out here should they find the blood," Thalia manages as she looks at the small pool that she had left behind. She felt cold and could feel her stomach was wet from where her clothing appeared to have been dipped in blood. Should her father still care for her in any way, or mistaken her leave for a capture, he would probably kill Ilfirinon for her being wounded, even for such a thing as this.
When she saw them approaching a cave, she closed her eyes lightly. She was tired, more and more so and was wondering if the bag with the letters was still around her shoulder. It was a matter of many people's life and whether they would live or not.
She wondered how far they were away from Glandale. If they got there, they would have anything and everything they would need, she would need that is. She couldn't promise anything for her companion considering he had been hired by her father and she wasn't entirely trusting of him quite yet.
The cave was somewhat damp though it was dry enough that the two would be comfortable enough for the night should they stay. She wondered if they were deep enough, and far enough into the forest that the others wouldn't find them. The comfort of a fire would contribute to the somewhat low spirits they held at the moment, or the low spirits she held at the moment.
"If we get to Glandale, we can anything we need," She whispers softly as she tries to keep herself from being a dead weight for the guy. He was surely strong enough to carry her small frame, but she still felt slightly guilty for him carrying her. Sure she would be slow, but she would at least be able to walk by herself.
"Thank you,"She manages as she settles down. She held her hand to her side, wondering why she wasn't allowed to wear more practical clothing at home, it would make a lot of people's lives easier. Those people being those against her father who required her to wear such clothing for some reason which she was only now starting to piece together.
He was trying to ease her mind. She was worrying and it would do her no good at the moment. They entered the cave and he made the way back through the dark as far as he dared without exploring to make sure that there was nothing else in there with them. He moved close to one of the sides of the cave. There, he gently sat the Princess down.
"If we get to Glandale, we can anything we need," She said. He smiled at her words. "Well then, that is were we should head." He watched her closely for a moment. She thanked him as he noticed that she was holding her side. He moved to her side, gently taking hold of her hand and moving it. His gaze shifted to the wound that he'd quickly patched up. "I need to properly bandage your wound."
His gaze shifted to the young woman's eyes, hold her gaze steadily. With her current outfit, he could not properly get to it which was part of the reason that he'd opted for the quick bandaging he'd done earlier. He hesitated, clearly not wanting to force his touch upon her. Though he'd not been near any other being for some time, he'd not lost any of his manners.
Only after Thalia had given him permission and moved the cloth so that he could properly get to the wound did he move. He dug through the bag he had and found the supplies that he needed. It wasn't bad enough to need stitches, which he was glad of. He pulled the bandage off of the wound and then properly cleaned it. He then bandaged it much better than the first time. Once he was done, he rose. He then left her, tell the Princess to remain there and that he would be back.
He gathered some wood for a fire and then made his way back to the cave. He was silent as he quickly began fixing a flame for them. It didn't take long and the flames quickly began warming the small area around them. He needed to try to clean the are where he'd found the Princess. However..it wouldn't be easy. "I'll return soon. Rest. When I get back we can head out so long as we aren't being followed."
He left her then, making his way quickly back towards the area they'd been at not too long before. When he arrived, there was no sign of danger, something that he was glad of. There was a good amount of blood and honestly he doubted that he'd be able to get most of it up. Even if he could, if the guards got too close they would still be able to smell it.
A pit of guilt forms in her stomach as she realizes what will be ensue for them. They are very likely to not make it more than a few weeks unless they tell her father anything and everything about what they had heard over the past few months come in and out of Thalia's room.
She looked down at the bloody clothing she wore and sighed inwardly, she really didn't have much to do and wasn't quite sure what to do what with all that was going on around her and those around her. She hoped that Ilfirinon didn't get caught, or die. She also didn't want to be left here or killed or hurt.
Maybe she was being more of a princess than usually and she could tell it wasn't something that anyone, let alone Ilfirinon would like. She sighs yet again, feeling the boredom seep in before remembering the maybe bloodied papers and rifling through her bag quickly.
She let out a sigh of relief as she saw that only one letter had a large blood stain while the others only had some drops. She wondered what the recipients would think when they received the unusual letter. She smiled slightly as she leaned bag, letting the letters drop to her lap as she let her eyes close, letting them rest for a few seconds in the growing darkness.
She didn't even have a chance to wake up as she fell into a sleep, already tired and weak from blood loss, the notion of sleep captured her head before she could possibly claim her opposition to the idea. The papers fell to the side slightly, words that could cause execution should her father find them.
He was well aware that the longer they remained so close to the palace, the more likely it was that they would be discovered. He noted the papers that were near the woman. However, he quickly tore his gaze from them. They were none of his business. Ilfirinon stoked the fire, making sure that they would not get too cold.
He would find little rest. He was still intent upon watching over the Princess. Though, he was unsure why the guards had come after the woman as they had. It simply didn't make sense to him. He would question her later on the matter.
As the time slowly passed by, Ilfirinon found himself lightly dozing. He would be able to tell if anyone or anything came across them. After a few hours had passed, the male Dragon awoke once again. He glanced about the cave, glad to see that nothing had found them. He would have fixed something to eat, as he was quite sure that the woman needed it to help in her recovery, however it would be quite hard to catch anything that would be worth the effort. They would have to wait until they reached Glandale.
The sun was already out, shinning down upon the world. Ilfirinon rose from his spot and made his way to the Princess. Gently, he placed a hand upon her shoulder and gave her a light shake, trying to wake her. "My Lady, you must wake. We need to get moving. I fear that if we stay here for much longer we will be found."
Grabbing the papers, she puts them back into her bag before nodding somewhat wearily, still sleepy from the sudden wakening. She gently brushes away Ilfirinon's hand, not wanting to be the one who keeps them held up slightly.
"You're right, I'm sure we can make it by night if we fly part of the time later, though that would be risky. Possibly best to just get as close as we can and hope we're found by those whom we want to be found by," Thalia says as she stands and looks at the fire before them. She frowns, they won't have food unless they hunt, or come across some fruit on the way to the city.
She wondered whether or not Ilfirinon would be willing to fly them both considering the risk. "Do you want to risk trying to fly?" She asks wondering whether she wanted to or not. She wondered if she would like flying without actually being a dragon. She could easily be carried by him as displayed last night anyway.
She walked to the edge of the cave, looking out at the sun with a frown. She wondered if her father was bothering with searching the forest, or if he was just searching cities since he knew they had little to no supplies in their possession at the moment.
Thalia sighs inwardly, her gaze hardening. They just need to get to the city, then clothing, food, medicine, it'll all be there for them to have access to so they won't be in danger of death, even from her father...
The male Dragon remained silent, however, simply watching the younger Dragon. It was only a moment later when she spoke again. "Do you want to risk trying to fly?" Thalia walked to the edge of the cave and Ilfirinon followed only after he'd put out their fire. He came to stand beside her, glancing in her direction.
"If we do not fly, we will not reach our destination until at least tomorrow..at the earliest. I would be willing to take the risk. You are in great need of medicine. However, I do not think that you are in any condition to fly on your own. I will carry you..if that is okay?" He paused for a moment, allowing the woman to speak. Only after she had, did he continue speaking. "We should try to remain on the ground at least until the afternoon. By then, perhaps those that are after us will have moved on to a different area."
He exited the cave, trusting that the woman would follow. As soon as they were out in the forest, Ilfirinon began leading the way. He made sure that his stride was not too fast for the wounded woman to keep up. He was silent as he walked, making sure to keep his gaze opened and alert. He would not allow anything else to happen to the Princess.
"It won't be the first time I've had to to ride instead of fly," Thalia shrugs as she looks up. "We should try to remain on the ground at least until the afternoon. By then, perhaps those that are after us will have moved on to a different area." Thalia frowns at this but doesn't argue. These dragons won't hesitate when it comes to searching, but she wouldn't mention this. They needed to get to town for more than one reason.
As Thalia follows, she stays quiet, watching their surroundings as they walk. She would need to do a lot before she could relax and worry about her physical health. She wasn't sure what to do with this dragon. She wondered why he was still watching her, avoiding the other dragons. He was most likely a spy that would either kill her or drag her back to her father when he was ready.
She didn't believe anyone did anything for anyone without something in return these days. Maybe he wanted something. "Why are you still protecting me?" Thalia asks almost out of the blue. She watches his reaction thoughtfully.
What would she do with this dragon. He may not leave her alone once the others found them and cared for her, in which case it would be too late and he would know too much. She frowned in her thoughts. They would either kill him of imprison her with or without her consent though she wasn't sure if she would even argue with such a situation they found themselves in.
((Just have her on if you want to skip to the town.))
