         While she was aware of one of the boys laid food out on the table, she paid no mind to it as she read, and read, and read the elegant script and scrawled words on both letters. If you had watched her facial expression, you'd notice that her expressions were quite stoic and concentrated, even though she was internally screaming on the inside. The Invitation smelled fresh, like it was just written. And the paper had a nice feel to it too. If there weren't any people in the room, she would have taken a big wiff of the paper. She couldn't help it! Michelle was a book girl too and absolutely loved the scent of new parchment or new ink. Well, the ink could tie in with her artsy side too.
The first letter, or the one she was supposed to read first, was from her Mother. It told of her recent advances through life and how she was able to get her to perform at one of the biggest events ever. Like, this shindig is HUGE, and for some reason they seem to be making an acception for the younger ones of the regular guest. The academy is always a buzz when the invitations come out, most of the upperclassmen getting to go every year. And by some divine force, her mother was able to get her a slot and perform on the piano there. Only a setlist of 3 or so songs, nothing major.
Well, it wouldn't be anything major if the whole fucking school was going to be there this year.
Is this all legit? Was this some sort of planned, elegant prank made by her parents? What if it isn't? and if it isn't-- what in god's name would she sing??? It could have been, but something inside is telling her otherwise.
Michelle isn't one to normally perform in front of others, but who knows, a lot of rather well-known people in various fields are there, so who knows what could happen? A scholarship, maybe?
Oh boy she desperately hopes.

Nobody bothers her as she reads, or at least not yet, and when she finished both of the equally as important letters, only two words escape her lips as she looks them both over, the words being mumbled under her breath.
"Holy shit."
