”To hell with them. Nothing hurts if you don’t let it.”
-Ernest Hemmingway
Name: Vera Roselyn Sinclair
Nicknames: V
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Role: Female 3
Occupation: Mother and nurse
Height: 5’4
Weight: 125 lbs
Scars: One scar across her left shoulder blade from falling out of a tree as a child.
Description: Vera is fairly average, her weight is fit with her height and her height is just average. Her skin is pale, like the creamy color of milk, and her hair is a muddy blonde that she often highlights. Her eyes are the most striking color of light green/blue, looking as if they were perfectly cut out of tourmaline gemstone. She stands just below the average height and stands straight as a board, having had posture lessons as a child. Before her daughter was born her figure was plain and skinny, but after bearing her first child her curves came in nicely. Though she has always looked childish, Vera has grown into her womanly figure. Her face is pleasant enough; Vera’s nose is awfully straight and her smile just crooked enough to have herself made fun of in elementary school. When she was a kid her nose and eyes were exaggerated, making her look sickly and bug like. With time she grew into her features, and now holds confidence in her appearance. Though she is a bit odd looking she has always possessed a certain beauty that has not been over looked.
”People Change and forget to tell each other.”
-Lillian Hellman
Personality: Vera is both collected and scattered. She is very smart, and always has been. she remains ladylike in most instances but isn’t afraid to step over the boundaries. Though she grew up wealthy, she knows how to work hard and live with the weight of the world on her shoulders. She is affectionate and passionate, about both her work and the people she holds close to her. She was always thought as a strange child when she was young because she has always been strangely introverted yet remarkably extroverted. She is the best of both worlds, I guess you could say. At home is she fairly quiet and likes to do her own thing, but if invited to a dinner party she is a vital part of entertainment.

Background: Vera was supposed to have grown up to be a seriously wealthy woman. Her mother and father, Edith Castaway and Benji Firston, were rich children that came from big name families. Though they barely knew each other they were arranged to be married on Edith’s eighteenth birthday. They were remarkably unhappy in their marriage, but family abandonment wasn’t something they were willing to experience. Benji grew up to be the owner of a huge soda pop company and Vera was the only child heir to the corporation. Her father was a strict business man and rarely took down his serious facade at home. Her mother was a bubbling beautiful socialite, who, unsurprisingly, was sleeping with every other business partner Benji had.
Vera’s childhood was filled with material possessions but lacked the love and attention she needed from both her parents. Her mother was far too busy fooling around and her father was far too busy trying to become richer than his father. Soon she has to raise herself, with only mild assistance from the house nanny and cook.
As she grew older her hatred for both her parents grew, and she began going against their will. At age fifteen her parents relieved to her that she was to be married to a young man named Arthur Peterson on her eighteenth birthday, but with a fiery determination and will she ran away from home. Some months later, after realizing her mother and father were no longer looking for her, she settled in a town call New Hope. There she met Male 3, whose family graciously took her in. She lived the remainder of her childhood there then got a good enough job so that she could pursue a career and live on her own.
While at school Vera met the man of her dreams and the love of her life. His name was Daniel Sinclair. He was handsome, humorous, and just the perfect mixture of gentle and stern. He was training to be a doctor when they first met, and after just three short weeks together they decided to marry. They were deliriously happy and planned to raise a family in New Hope. Their plans were disrupted though when the United States decided to enter WWII. After finding out that they were expecting their first child, Daniel was drafted three months later. And four months after that he was gone.
Vera found out the news while she was eight months pregnant. Soon she would a single mother, with no one to lean on. Her best friend was serving too and still wanted nothing to do with her mother and father. So, she went on, grieving over her lost husband until the war was over. Now she has taken in her PTSD ridden Male 3 in hopes that she will be able to help him. They live together in her small house in the center of town.
