Beep! Beep! Beep! After punching air for a minute, Lucy finally managed to slam her hand down on that blasted alarm clock to stop its irritating beeping, ordering her out of her bed. Opening her eyes, she heaved a sigh, staring up at her ceiling for a minute before throwing the covers from her body and sitting up. Upon standing to her feet, she wobbled a bit, feeling slightly light-headed from standing up too fast. Closing her eyes for a minute, she let the feeling pass before making her way through her room towards her bathroom which was connected by a door near her closet. Stopping at the closet doors, she opened them and picked out a simple blue button up and some black jeans. Happy with her choice, she set the clothes down on her dresser and hopped into the shower.
Minutes later, she jumped back out and wrapped a towel around her body before brushing her teeth, and walking out of her bathroom and over to her ipod docking station, where she turned on Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles Dancing around to the music, she began her daily morning routine, not being able to help but sing along. "Eleanor Rigby picks up the rice in the church where a wedding has been, lives in a dream. Waits by the window, wearing the face that she keeps in a jar by the door, who is it for?" She slipped her glasses onto her nose and started brushing out her long blonde hair.
"All the lonely people. Where do they all come from? All the lonely people. Where do they all belong?" She sang as she dressed and clasped her locket around her neck. She never bothered with makeup beyond chapstick, and that was only because she sometimes got chapped lips.
She jumped when there was a knock at her door. Turning on her heel, she saw her brother leaning against the doorframe. She walked over to the docking station and paused the song. "Did I hear you singing?" She smiled. "Shut up." Suddenly there was barking and she was almost tackled to the ground by their two dogs. Gabby, the Black Lab/Border Collie mix, and Charlie, the golden retriever. She kneeled down and stroked both of their heads before standing back up and grabbing her bag. She looked at her brother and sighed.
"You'll be fine. Just smile and wave."
She pushed at his shoulder once before making her way downstairs and out to her car.
Upon arriving to school, she stood outside for a moment, taking it all in, and preparing to immerse herself in her own invisibility. This year was probably going to be like every other year she'd spent in this building. Quiet. Yeah, thats the word to describe it. Quiet.
