For three thousands years all but the Elves thought that the third moon was a myth. It had disappeared and legends took its place, legends that had said mysterious portals could send you there and back. The Elves, particularly the Star-Elves, had kept meticulous records however, and knew that it had once existed. Now the Eri, as the humans call it, has reappeared in the sky to the shock and awe of many. The legends of portals leading to Eri also turned out to be true; not only that but they were the obelisks that so many cities had been built around. Oddly dressed people stepped through the now-reactivated portals and the first interactions between the people of Tokin and Eri went smoothly. There are, however, those on both worlds that distrust and persecute the others. Despite the best efforts of those who do not wish it, war seems inevitable.

Tokin is a world full of magic, and so technology has not progressed as far as that on Eri. The technology of Tokin is of renaissance flavor: guns are fairly widespread, but many people still prefer good-old fashioned swords and many people prefer magic.

Eri is quite technologically advanced. Due to the circumstances under which Eri vanished magic was non-existent there. Because of the lack of magic technology developed much faster on Eri. Eri has advanced technology like holograms and space travel (of the fast inter-planetary variety, not inter-solar) as well as impressive weapons. Due to the sudden surge of magic when Eri reappeared, much of the technology has had problems, though the scientist of Eri are finding ways to overcome this.
