         Surprise was written all over Mae's face as the people around her spoke. Cobalt was safely laying beside her once more and both of them had calmed until a guy had started to speak. He was saying things about strange powers and why they were brought there. The beat of Mae's heart quickened as she tried to look unfazed by what he was saying. Did he know what she could do? She bit her lip and patted Cobalt's head to distract herself from the possibility of what this boy could know.

Her mouth almost fell open when he announced he had heightened senses. When he had finished speaking another girl proclaimed she could mold things like clay. Then came Kora's voice announced she could freeze things. Mae couldn't believe what she was hearing, which was a first for her because she had great hearing and never misheard things people were saying. These people had abilities like she did. At least that is what it sounded like. They could be lying.

For a few seconds she fought with herself about whether she should tell them what she could do or not. If they were lying about what they could do she could be in a lot of trouble, but if they were telling the truth....

"I- um- I can read people's memories when I'm singing. I can also perceive the objects around me if there is music around...." she finally announced with a slight tremble in her voice. She was scared that her telling them this could get her into trouble, but she almost hadn't been able to control the words coming out of her mouth. It was almost impossible for Mae to fathom the existence of people like her, and yet, here they were lost in some beach cave with her. She felt a strange light feeling in her chest at the thought as she couldn't help the small half smile pulling at the corner of one of her lips.
