PERSONALITY:
Klaus tries to be as easygoing as he can when it comes to talking to other people, but when it's just him and his art, he's a total perfectionist that can tend to fixate too much on the little details. Occasionally, that shines through into his relationships, especially if he's going through a creative drought and hasn't created anything in a few days. It's very easy for him to get restless and tends to do pretty poorly in school because he can't/ refuses to stay focused on one things. Art is the one consistency in his life, he can always finish a piece, but never an essay. After already having broken out onto the art scene a little bit, school is merely a formality to Klaus, a gate he has to pass to move on. You know what they say, C's get degrees.
He's the opposite of apathetic when it comes to his art, it's where he really flourishes. He loves it to death and there's nothing he's more passionate about than the way he can make something beautiful out of nothing. He can be pretty friendly, but his artwork consumes a lot of his time, so it takes a little more time to get to him because he can tend to be elusive. Klaus doesn't mind being alone, but he gets most of his creative ideas from watching other people and experiencing human emotion in a raw form. Like all artists, he can tend to be a little eccentric, seeing things much deeper than the surface which can lead him to believe everything is that way. He will try and find deeper meanings in everything and a lot of times that isn't the case.
People are a little hard for Klaus to grasp when it comes to emotion, but he finds them amazing. He replicates the emotions he finds around him to incorporate into his artwork, but in a high school, that's no real challenge. Even a boarding school is an emotional smorgasbord. He loves the people he holds close to him because he knows he can be hard to be around sometimes, so when there is someone who put in the effort and made their way through the walls, it's even harder to keep him away.

LIKES:
Klaus has a permanent appreciation for all art. Whether it's well done or not, he can manage to find something in it he likes. Unfortunately, he isn't quite as optimistic about everything else. One of Klaus' favorite things to do is people watch, even if he's not looking for a new project, it's relaxing for him. Meditation has recently been a big hit with him since his discovery that it allowed him to sit still for more than three minutes. Klaus almost always works with music in the background, typically a soft instrumental track. Every once in a while, he'll ask a music student to come to his studio and play while he works. Friends are hard for him to come by, but much easier for him to keep once he's got them.

DISLIKES:
Klaus tries to stay as down to earth as he can, only letting his cockiness get to him if he's particularly proud of one piece, but people who are cocky really rub him the wrong way. Conflict has never been something he's dealt with very well and he mostly avoids it, making him seem weak-willed when he really just doesn't want to get involved in other people's issues. Klaus is a great artist, but every artist has a piece they don't like. Klaus hates it when a piece comes out poorly, all that work and research and time for what he views as a piece of shit. Klaus likes to work with all different kinds of mediums, his favorites being stone sculpture and watercolor paintings. He hates metal sculptures, he appreciates ones that are done well and admires them, but he hates working with such a rigid material.

FEARS:
One of Klaus' biggest fears is that he will disappear into irrelevance, fame isn't a huge part of it, but Klaus wouldn't mind a little prominence. He just doesn't want to disappear out of the public eye. He can tend to fixate on the public more than his own friends at times. Klaus struggles the most in his art, not with the technical stuff that makes art art, but the emotion that comes with it. A lot of times, Klaus makes pieces that end up being emotionally dead and it frustrates him to no end, a lot of the feeling and purity in his art is feigned. He doesn't mind solitude to work, but Klaus doesn't want to end up alone, he thrives around people and more importantly, his art thrives around people. It's a silly fear, but Klaus worries that one day he'll wake up and just lose his talent like a puff of smoke. He has no plan for the future if art doesn't pan out and while his parents could provide for him, his restlessness would make that a horrible life for him.

FAMILY:
Eleanor Forrest / 45: Klaus' mother was a moderately successful business woman who owned a makeup company that focused on spreading positivity to girls while simultaneously convincing them they'd be more beautiful with all of the products. It somehow worked better than she could've hoped.
Abraham Ekkehart / 50: His father married into a higher class when he fell in love with Klaus' mother, but soon after their marriage he saw how frigid Eleanor was and made a name for himself by networking and coming out with a revealing memoir that extensively discussed their personal lives and their lavish lifestyle. A divorce quickly followed the book, but now Abraham could cash in massive royalties with no threat to his lifestyle.

RELATIONSHIP WITH PARENTS:
As the only result of their fourteen year marriage, Klaus is a hot commodity with his parents. It's exhausting to be coveted so heavily by two people who just want to use you against each other anyways. The divorce was about as toxic as it could get, no doubt about it, but Klaus had given up on civility long before the book or the official papers. He couldn't remember a time where his parents at least pretended to enjoy each other's presence. When the divorce was finalized, it was a sigh of relief. For about two seconds. Then the war concerning Klaus got brutal to the point where Klaus didn't want to be around either of them. The boarding school in Paris was a dream come true.

BIOGRAPHY
Klaus was born in Berlin in 1998 and was the last good thing that happened to his family. He grew up in a lavish lifestyle that had all the stereotypical yachts and parties on the weekends, but all it did was emotionally numb him to the point where he could go days without uttering a single word. In these socially empty days, Klaus would fill the hours and avoids his parents by pursuing what came most naturally to him, art. He devoted endless days to pursuing an understanding an appreciation for the art in the world and how it could be more than something pretty to look at, it could convey emotions that were too potent for words. In an effort to try and release his own pent up emotions, he gave art a shot, starting with watercolors.

He loved it instantly.

His talent was apparent instantly as well.

After a few years, Klaus had fallen in love with art. All kinds. Sculpture and canvas, metal and fabric. They were all gorgeous. Art was the one field where Klaus could be positive about everything, he was an undeniable optimist who could find beauty in everything. However, when it came to people, it was much harder to believe in the beauty and good when people made it so easy to believe the opposite.
This mentality was solidified when his father caused the catalyst to the much-needed divorce: the memoir. His father had been barely 47, but the memoir flew off of shelves. It was everything a reader wanted out of a rich family; drama, scandals, throwing money around. It was like watching a real life soap opera. Everything personal about Klaus’ life fell apart, it was like every person had a window held up to his life now and they always wanted to talk to him, to know how he felt. To be honest, Klaus felt numb. When his parents fought over him, he felt next to nothing, but he knew he felt trapped. When he discovered Meilleur Academy, he jumped at the opportunity to improve his art and get away from his parents. It’s worked so far.
Now, Klaus is entering his final year of the Academy, but he worries very little about his future or his ability to thrive. He’s confident in his art even if he’s less confident in everything else.
