Introduction
“Three days have passed since the first broadcast of the attacks. That morning the news only talked about the damage done to Washington and every hour suggested a different attacker. It wasn’t only until the day after that everyone realized it was happening all over the world. People where attacking people without reason or cause. It was last reported that a virus had gone airborne giving people rabies, and another report stating the infected are dying and coming back to life. Panic hits the streets, and people swap hospitals, malls, gun stores, and groceries stores all the while more and more attacks happen all around you and new reports happen every minute. The next day nothing broadcasted and the world went silent. The only information left lies within the memoirs of the infected” (more chapters to come)
This game will be played in chapters. Each chapter ending in an important event. There will time that will pass between different chapters (typically seasons.) This way the story can quickly develop over a longer span of time.
You have the freedom to create as many characters as you like, but you can only have 5 characters at a time. I'm expecting alot of death in this story, because the situation is very deadly.
Chapter 1: The Beginning of the End. The story begins in southern part of NorthAmerica in the state of Tennessee at Lincoln city only four days after the outbreak. A lot of things still work, and a lot of people are all trying to survive and protect their own. Police, hospitals, firefighters and some businesses still have attempted to keep order and stay functioning to the best of their abilities. Military has been deployed everywhere it seems and have been forcing citizens into designated areas. Many cities have been evacuated and the military have been bombing all over. All TV channels have been cut off and only show a warning to stay in your house and remain calm. Phones, electricity, water, all still working with few exceptions. Road workers try their best to clear wrecks and guide the rush of traffic leaving various cities. Little is known about what is happening. Rumors are passed around but little is known for sure. Your character most likely hasn’t seen a zombie and knows little about the infection. Don’t start the game thinking you’re a bad ass killer. This is the very start, so play as if this was happening to a real person. The number of living is quickly diminishing, and panic and chaos is already turning people against each other. This is a good time to make a lot of characters, and have each one quickly die off leaving you with your main characters.
Locations: This Roleplay functions on the main locations your characters are in. Anyone can make a new location if they want. A city or place can be real or made up, whatever you want. Only say that the place is north south east or west from the starting city of Lincoln Tennessee.
What is known about THEM:
The dead have risen and attack the living. Call them what you want; undead, infected, walkers, geeks, zombies, but what is certain is that if you die by any cause, you come back as a flesh eating mindless monster. The only way to stop them is by destroying the brain. They aren’t intelligent beings. They function like humans do, but without a since of pain, thought, or memory. They are as strong, and fast as they were alive but any damage done weakens them and they no longer heal. Typically the longer it’s been dead the weaker it is. So you can have quick strong zombies or slow creeping zombies. The slower ones tend to roam in larger packs to to the nature of their restricted movement, and the fresher healthier undead move normally by themselves because they leave others behind. They only thing that is necessary for them to be alive is their brain. They are only concerned with eating the living. If you are living and they’ve caught they will devour you until your heart stops. Somehow the can sense the living by smell. They will roam in packs and follow sounds, movement, and smells of the living. For some reason only humans have returned from the dead, animals remain dead. If you are bitten and its untreated you get a fever and infection that spreads quickly. Everything the infection spreads to turns into dead tissue and looks discolored because of its lack of blood flow. Any infected body part becomes numb and unable to be used. Once your vital organs shut down by the infection or any other reason, you die and will at some point turn. This whole process takes a different amount of time with every victim, but on average a person can last around three days from a bite, and no other wounds until they die from the infection. The fever can be fought with medicine, and the infection slowed or even neutralized. Any dead tissue however is permanently lost.

Re: Memoirs of the Infected
One of the characters I was thinking of making is a police officer. I was wondering, given his job, how much, if anything, about the current situation would he have been told? I realize that most don't have a clue what's going on, but the military presumably has at least some idea, if they're managing to find targets for their bombs. I wasn't sure however, how much of what they know they'd have shared with the regular law enforcement.
