|| STRENGTHS ||
Perceptive, insightful, observant, Zara has a natural talent for understanding people. Too bad she only uses that to her own advantage. Given her family history it was expected that Zara shine in casting jinxes & charms and she hasn't disappointed, she's even been known to create her own spells on occasion. It follows that she is good at Charms & Defense Against The Dark Arts. Zara is also a talented duelist. She is strategic and accurate, strengths that make her a clever opponent to face. Discrete, a more important strength then some might believe as it allows Zara to get away with most of her rule-breaking.

|| FLAWS ||
Zara might consider her manipulative side a strength, but it does hinder the creation of real friendships. Spiteful, catty, vindictive, whatever word you choose to use there is no hiding that Zara can be excessively cruel when she wishes to be. Rule-breaker, risk-taker, someone obviously didn't have Zara in mind when they named House Vorne the 'House of Compliance'. Any Muggle technology is completely alien to her.

|| LIKES ||
|| Her brother, Stephen || Watching quidditch || Dueling || Charms || Defense Against The Dark Arts || Potions || Jinxes || Creating new spells || Non-verbal Spells || The colour red || Pixies || Summer || Sunny days || Snowball fights || Her owl Toby || Anything sweet || Christmas Feast || Travel || Her Patronus

|| DISLIKES ||
Being Confined || Anyone insulting her brother || Muggle technology (because she doesn't understand it) || Heights || Losing (especially to her brother) || Herbology || Being patronised || Toads || Sleeping In || Trolls || Gnomes || Gossip Magazines || Floo powder (it always makes her sneeze) || Idiots || People wasting her time || People who can't take a joke || Seaweed || Boredom

|| FEARS ||
Loneliness || Zara fears being alone forever.
Heights || Zara can cope with high towers, but anything without safety rails makes her excessively nervous.
Paralysis || Being unable to move and control her body.

|| GOALS & AMBITIONS ||
As much as she loves spells, Zara is perfectly happy to let her brother take over the family business. She herself would prefer to strike out on her own, although she isn't certain what she would like to do yet, aside from traveling and seeing the world. In the near future she simply wishes to do well in her preferred subjects, have fun with her friends, and perhaps cause a little hell for the one or two students who have particularly caught her eye.

|| SECRETS ||
Zara isn't too fond of people knowing her fears, particularly her fear of heights. She doesn't want to appear overly weak to them and as such has worked hard on keeping them a secret. Then there are the numerous cases of bullying that have occurred over the years, many of which have gone unnoticed by the teachers and in some cases even the student being targeted hasn't been aware of whom cast the spell. Naturally Zara keeps these under wraps and most students don't realise that Zara has such a vindictive side, until they fall prey to her spite.

|| BIRTH DATE ||

|| PERSONALITY ||
Charming || Perceptive || Manipulative || Sarcastic || Strategic || Vindictive
Zara Schwartz makes no apology for being who she is. She is strong, confident, and charming with the world at her fingertips. With an endearing smile on her face Zara can charm the pants off anyone. She's rather adept at gliding through social occasions, mingling with guests old and young. An easy, sarcastic sense of humour and a nimble mind rarely have her struggling with words or jokes, and the majority of her parents' friends consider her a delightful, talented girl. The same charm is easily apparent when Zara interacts with her friends and liked acquaintances.

Of course the face she reveals to her parents is not the only face she has. Towards those students she dislikes a vindictive, catty personality appears. A talented manipulator and extremely perceptive, Zara knows how to pull strings here and push people there to get things done. She knows what will push a person to breaking point and isn't scared to use this to her advantage. Strategy and discretion play a large part in her tactics and are usually necessary to stay out of detention. Most teachers and many students aren't even aware of her manipulations, thanks in part to her discretion. Patience and foresight also come in handy. Starting a quarrel with Zara is a jail sentence for her opponent, because Zara holds grudges for a long time. Why does Zara feel the need to manipulate others? Partly because it's a source of entertainment for her, but usually because said victim has wronged her in some way. She doesn't necessarily desire to be admired or seen as the best, after all she's confident in herself and her abilities, but she does hate been talked down to and patronised.

Around those who Zara actually likes another witch appears. Intelligent, funny, and warm, she can relax and let the fun, slightly reckless personality appear. Her sarcastic side, which is usually evident, takes on a less cutting and more humorous note around those she considers equals. While she isn't particularly loud, Zara is never hesitant to speak when needed and she can be extremely persuasive when convincing friends to take a risk or break a rule. Those that know her well know that she can be harsh at times to those she doesn't like, but also a valuable, loyal friend to those she does. So, as long as you're on her good side there's really nothing to worry about.

|| ORIGIN ||
Dresden, Germany

|| HISTORY ||
In the world of charms, jinxes, and hexes no other family is better known than the Schwartz family. Beginning with a single spell book many generations ago, they now own and run one of the largest spell production businesses in mainland Europe, creating and sharpening spells new and old. Many Schwartz books take pride of place in bookcases and many of their spells have become household names. It has, understandably, made them extremely wealthy.

Zara was born into this luxury on the 1st of December 16 years ago. She was the second child of Erwin and Moira Schwartz who already had an eight year old son named Stephen. Growing up in the wizarding family had its advantages and disadvantages, as all families do. Neither she nor her brother were denied anything. Money was not an issue after all. Her parents would take her across the globe to watch the Quidditch world cup, she dined with other industry greats, and met more than her fair share of world leaders. Of course, for a young witch who was much more interested in zipping around on her toy broom or running after pixies, all the parties and meet and greets seemed rather tedious. It was her brother who often helped her cope with the boredom. Although he was eight years older Stephen never seemed too put out to be playing with her. He'd tell jokes and play tricks just to make her laugh. Unfortunately he was off attending Magdalena for much of the year so Zara had to quickly learn to entertain herself.

Watching her brother go off to Magdalena each year was always a troubling time for the young girl. She was envious of him attending school, and distraught at the thought of not seeing her big brother for what seemed like an eternity to the young girl. However, he always returned with treats for Zara and stories of his exploits at the school. During his time at the school Stephen earned the title of prefect and later Head-boy, he was a star pupil and a natural, kind leader. It was expected that Zara would follow in her brother's footsteps, however less than a week into her first year she was caught casting a jinx on another student. It seemed in those first few months that Zara was forever standing in front of her head of house, being told to behave. It was only when she learned to be discrete with her spells that the detentions ended. Zara began to rise in the teacher's opinions, who fully believed that she had turned a new leaf and began to follow in her brother's footsteps. Not so. In her later years she eagerly joined the school's dueling club, which proved a good outlet for her talents. She was a naturally skilled spell caster, particularly when using jinxes. Once she'd learned non-verbal spells her wins in the club soared.

Zara has carved out a place for herself at the school. It may not be as the star student, but she is perfectly happy with where she is. She has her group of friends, those she cannot stand, and the rest who fall somewhere in the middle. Entering her sixth year she has began to turn her mind to the future, considering what she wants to do upon graduating. While she knows she'll always have a place in the family business Zara feels the need to strike out on her own. However, she is far from certain of what exactly she wants to do and is hoping that inspiration will strike in the next two years.

On the morning of September the first, all students arrive at Magdalena early and eagerly, just in time for breakfast. Theyโ€™d all greet those they hadnโ€™t yet had the chance to see and from there breakfast commence. Whether or not the lot of students got any rest usually depended on their compatibility with trains, which was inevitably unlikely. All students boarded at different times and different places, but they all arrived at 8am on the dot.

ImageProfessor Hawthorne announced the arrival of the first years as the rest of the diverse school sat munching, to which they sorting ceremony began. Magdalena had itโ€™s own special way of sorting students into their houses. Though it seemed rather average or rudimentary, there was an enchanted basin placed at the end of the long line of first years. From there, they would draw their house, and go to join their tables pridefully.

Each table was dressed neatly in itโ€™s house color named boldly with a banner lined in gold and silver, a glowing mist emanating around all the dishes and plates that floated and rotated so that everyone could get a bite. Not only did the tablecloth glow as brightly as the plates did, but it would almost play with the children. Pleasing them with thoughtful images of animals that best described their actions or their houses, and blasting the occasional first year in the face with what looked like an abundance of glitter.

Once the frayed nerves of the newbies died down, the students would surely be reintroduced to their new home know as Magdalena Academy of Magical Education.

"Auf Wiedersehen, dork." Stephen Schwartz says, a lopsided smile painted across his face as he addresses his younger sister. His hand darts out, ruffling the girl's hair. Zara ducks down and away from her brother, before reaching out to punch his arm. Stephen pretends that the punch hurt, grabbing his arm and letting out a loud yelp. A few heads turn, fellow students boarding the train and a number of parents. Stephen's look of pain quickly turns to a wolf-like grin.
"Cool it, loser." Zara says in English. Her clipped accent clearly revealing her German heritage.

In the background the train whistles, indicating that it will soon be departing for Magdalena. The throngs of German and foreign witches and wizards leap into action, finishing farewells and making their children promise to write home every week or vice versa. Stephen pulls his little sister into a bear hug, refusing to let her go from his grip despite her protests. When he does it is with a small piece of advice,
"Nichts tun wรผrde ich nicht tun." He cautions, although the spark in his eye tells Zara that he doesn't expect the advice to be followed. Of course, if Zara heeds his caution and didn't do anything he wouldn't do, how on earth was she going to have fun? Stephen had been the golden boy during his time at Magdalena, and even now at age 24 she doubted he had ever knowingly broken a rule or purposefully set out to hurt someone. Of course, what he doesn't know can't hurt him, so with an innocent smile on her face Zara promises to be good, before taking her leave.

Having already deposited her gear Zara hops onto the train, giving her brother a last wave before disappearing down the corridor. The door to her carriage slides open at her push to reveal a pair of first or second years hunched over a pack of cards. They glance up at Zara as she enters. The one of the right gives Zara a friendly smile, which quickly falters into an anxious grimace at the sight of her unfriendly glare.
"Geh weg." Zara says to the pair. Their blank stares make it apparent that neither student speaks German, which only makes Zara scowl. Really, what idiot attends a school in Germany and doesn't learn German? "Get. Out." She translates, pronouncing each word slowly so that there could be no fear of miscommunication. The younger students scramble to their feet, hastily picking up their play cards before making their escape.

With a satisfied smirk Zara flops into the seats, laughing quietly to herself as she waves the carriage door shut with her wand. "Sorry Stephen, it hasn't even been five minutes and I've already broken my promise." She thinks to herself, a devilish expression crossing her face.

The train journey is relatively short for the German girl, especially compared to many of the foreign students, and in no time at all Zara is sitting with the rest of her house, Vorne, enjoying breakfast while the first years are sorted. The two students who she had ejected from her cabin on the train are sorted into house Vorne, "Typical." Zara thinks as she watches each first year trot over to the table, luckily for them neither of the two from the train choose to sit near her.
"Are you going to eat that Zas?" The voice draws Zara's attention to her side, where her good friend Lucie sits. The girl hails from Czech Republic and seems to be constantly hungry. Zara pushes her plate towards Lucie, indicating that the food is free to a good home. Not that there isn't enough on the plates in front of them, but it seems that Lucie has been eyeing up this particular piece of toast for sometime.

The two girls have kept up a constant correspondence throughout their holidays and there isn't too much new gossip to trade. However, that hasn't stopped them from going over every little detail again. Even as Lucie bites into a piece of toast, she's describing her holiday fling with a handsome Italian muggle. Zara nods along, occasionally adding in her opinion or comment. Lucie isn't the type to care too much if she has Zara's full attention, Zara's often thought that Lucie would talk to a brick wall for hours if given the chance. So, while Lucie continues describing the number, size and colour of roses her beau gifted her, Zara's eyes are roaming the hall.

She almost misses Kim Jae-sun, the newly appointed prefect of Vorne house. The shy boy isn't one to stick out much. Zara wonders how effective the boy will be at fulfilling his role as prefect given how adverse he is to public speaking. Zara certainly doesn't find his sudden authority threatening in the least and doesn't think it likely that she'd treat him any differently to how she has in the past. Zara's eyes drift across the tables, before coming to rest on Emery Wrywyk. The Polish boy had been at the top of her list since second year. They might once have been friends, but now his cheerful smile only makes Zara scowl.

In need of a friendlier face Zara searches the mass of students for Keira, but fails to find her friend. Zara isn't too concerned, Keira will be here somewhere and no doubt they'll see each other later. There are other faces in the crowd too, a few of which capture her interest for a moment before she turns back to face Lucie beside her.
"And he said he was going to write every day until we see each other again." Lucie is saying breathlessly, her eyes glistening as she recalls her lover's words. Then a frown darkens her face and her eyes glance questioningly at Zara, "Although have you heard of 'the face book'? He said he'd look me up on there and add me as a friend. I thought we were already friends?" Zara frowns too as she tries to think.
"I think that has something to do with the internet." She replies slowly, although rather uncertainly, "Or is it outernet?"

Muggle technology is not really Zara's thing. She, like Lucie, comes from an all magic family. Rather than use the internet and electronics they use magic. As a result Facebook and the like are completely foreign to them. Luckily for the two girls all their muggle knowledge can be sourced from the wise lips of one of their long-time friends. Robert Hachley, a muggle-born wizard belonging to Hart house, is usually the one they consult when they have muggle related questions. However, having scanned the crowds earlier, Robert is nowhere in sight. It is likely that the young Australian has missed his flights and train, something he has managed to do almost every year that he has been attending Magdalena. For now both girls have to content themselves with Zara's vague answer and hope eventually the mystery of the face book will be revealed.

There was an unusual and awkward pause as Anita gathered her toast, Vulpecula watching the pretty Indian girl go to sit with a boy she somewhat recognized. She screwed her face into an expression of absolute concentration before she finally recognized Matteo. However, her thoughts of him weren't what one would call pleasant. He was muggleborn and a dimwit. Vix wasn't exactly completely prejudiced towards non-purebloods, but she didn't see his purpose of attending any Wizarding School. She was sure that he most likely would fail his N.E.W.T.s, surprised that he had apparently made it past his O.W.L.s. He was a pretty boy with a pretty face and a gentle heart but that was about as far as the appeal went with him. She was no stranger to his lack of intelligence by her own standards and couldn't help but to take some form of offence. Not because she thought he was stupid, but because she happened to intrude on his History of Magic class after having forgotten her book for her Charms class a couple times and each time she went to retrieve it by the grace of her Head of Eden House, she noticed he was either staring off into the distance or making magic airplanes float about.

Had he been a pure-blood goofing off, she wouldn't have cared too much. They grew up learning these things and their parents would always tell them what great wizards and witches they were kin to. But she got an impression from Teo that he didn't care where his magic came from, how he got it, or why, just that he had magic. She felt it was a disrespect to their culture and he had no right to goof off after he had been whisked away from the incredibly boring life muggles lead and brought into a world that muggles could only write and dream about. She felt that muggleborns, more than anyone, should pay as close attention as they could in their classes.

But she would never say so aloud to him or anyone.

Pure-blood she may be, she wasn't intolerant and her discrimination was very selective. She didn't dislike any form of wizard or witch or see them as lesser than her and other pure-bloods. Sure, then majority of her friends were pure-bloods of prominent families, but she had a variety of other friends on the spectrum of lineage. Not many muggleborns, okay. So, perhaps, she was a bit more judgemental towards some of those raised in the muggle world. She could defend her claim to such an attitude by pointing out that she only disliked those who were idiots or ungrateful of their abilities and what doors they opened.

It had nothing to do with their blood status, that she would say. However, against her case, she had never actually tried to help Matteo or get to know him so she didn't know if he was trying hard and simply lacked the mental capacity. She had no personal experience with him outside of him goofing off in class while she passed through. Some might say it was hypocritical of her, that she condemned his carefree antics while she herself had incited a small riot or two in class and played hooky every once in a blue moon. She would defend her case with the fact that she could afford to. Her grades weren't at jeopardy.

As usual, she seemed to give far too much time to a passing thought and had lost herself with an internal debate, not noticing she had been staring at Anita and Matteo for so long that her vision had gone blurry. She blinked rapidly to clear her vision through her glasses and set her cat down, shooing him away before offering Emery a gentle smile whilst she placed a hand on his shoulder. โ€œLypรกmai, agapiฬฑtรฉ,โ€ she apologized with a soft laugh, referring to him, as she did with most people, as dear. Her mother did that too. She parted her lips once more to ask him how his summer was, letting her hand rest on his shoulder still as she looked him directly in the eyes with a gentle stare.

Most people would be creeped out by the invasion but Emery was one of the few who didn't mind and she didn't think he knew how much she appreciated that. Or maybe he learned how much she appreciated and valued his friendship when she attacked Zara four years ago at the mere mention of a slight bit of teasing. โ€œTell me, how was your summer? Exciting, I hope! Surely you missed me while having your adventure?โ€ She teased him lightheartedly and poked his nose playfully before retreating back to her muffin and apple, often casting him a glance as she listened for his tale.

The school year had officially begun.

After the breakfast feast, orientation started for all students. First years; or as referred to by the headmaster, ersten Jahren, made things especially hectic, but they always did. Compassion was something the staff often enforced. Students of every grade had been there before, therefore it was nobodyโ€™s job to hassle them.

A week forward, students should now have had their schedules in order, and even maybe have gotten a little more sleep in the comfort of their dorms, which were located on the upper floors, comprised of balconies and bridges stringing over the view of the entrance hall. All fashioned and lit by enchanted lanterns that glowed with orange autumn light.

It had been a rainy week, some couldnโ€™t even recall seeing the sun once during the first days of school. Nonetheless, the alumni kept the homecoming festivities rolling, but it wasnโ€™t long until a gloom began to settle. It wasnโ€™t any early-winter gloom that most experienced around this time. It was hardly winter yet in Germany. Something was clearly depressing the atmosphere.

Rumors of dragon sightings began to travel. Spreading like a wildfire, every student had to have heard something by the wake of the second week. Muggles had even apparently caught sight of the supposed โ€UFOsโ€, but unfortunately the students were left in the dark.

Eventually, the ministry had sent word to Magdalena of the recent encounters, and Professor Hawthorne publicly and personally explained to staff and students what was occurring Monday morning.

โ€œ'Professor Decimus Wendell Hawthorne,'โ€ chuckles rose among the students as the Headmaster read aloud the statement from the Minister himself. With a grunt and a half smile of his own, the Professor continued extravagantly. โ€œ'And to all whom it may concern at Magdalena Academy of Magical Education.

โ€œโ€˜It is to my dismay that I inform the wizarding communities of Germany and nearby settlements about the recent sightings of Chinese dragons. Iโ€™m afraid I have no personal knowledge as to why theyโ€™ve left their country to journey as far as Europe, but we know for certain that they have become a danger to central Germany. Chinese dragons arenโ€™t known to act up as weโ€™ve seen this past week, attacking farms, and increasingly populated places.โ€™โ€ Hawthorne trailed off, dropping the letter down on the podium and tightening his jaw.

โ€œAs you all know, and it goes without saying, the school will be carrying out lockdown procedures. I understand that this isnโ€™t how any of you would like to start your Monday, but it looks as though we havenโ€™t got any choice.โ€ Hawthorne leaned heavily down upon the neatly engraved podium. It was true, he never liked laying down bad news, but it was not in his nature to sugarcoat subjects like this. โ€œThis means herbology, and other outdoor classes, will be heavily supervised, and dungeons will be utilized if those dragons come too close for comfort.โ€

The Headmaster, gazed down at the letter that sat before him, but he only nodded as if just agreeing with his decisions. โ€œSo, all that is left to say is enjoy your breakfast.โ€ His tone defaulted to that of more positivity, and he turned to take his seat, leaving the students to their own thoughts.

With that, the second week had begun, and it wasnโ€™t shaping out to be a good one.

Magdalena had never been quite as entertaining as when it was threatened with dragons. The rumours that had been circulating for the past few days had been an increasingly interesting source of distraction for the students, Zara included. Dragons, particularly Chinese dragons, were rare sights in the middle of Europe, at least outside of zoos. What they were doing this far west had been a much discussed topic in the past week among the students who had put stock in the flimsy rumours floating around. The sceptics among them had dismissed the rumours as fanciful tales, but even they couldn't ignore a message from the minister.

As soon as the headmaster took his seat the hall exploded in talk. From where she sat Zara could hear excited whispers from some, while others were already drawing out quills and parchment to write a hasty letter to their loved ones. Zara really couldn't care less. Sure, she'd hardly wish to be caught out in the open by the fire-breathing beasts, but she highly doubted that the dragons would get as far as Magdalena. Even if they did, given the number of teachers on hand they wouldn't likely cause much harm. As for her family in Germany, she had complete faith in their abilities to handle a dragon, or at least hire a wizard or witch who could. Besides, her family were not without connections and could always leave the country until the danger had passed.

Zara had to roll her eyes at the amount of worried expressions she could see around her. She spotted one first year girl sitting just down from her about to burst into tears. "Pathetic" Zara thought to herself, before turning her attention on the ever-hungry Lucie beside her, who appeared more concerned with not leaving breakfast hungry than with the realisation that dragons could threaten the school. "You'll give yourself a stomach ache if you eat all of that too fast." Zara warned, eyeing the increasing mountain of food piled on Lucie's plate. Then again, Zara had seen her friend eat far more than this and be fine. With a sigh and a half-concealed smile Zara begins to prepare her own breakfast, picking a smaller and far less extravagant plate than her neighbour.

"So, what subject have you got first?" Lucie asked a moment later, midway through a bowl of cereal. Despite a week having already passed Lucie had still not come to grips with her own schedule, and had it currently set on the table in front of her as she gazed ahead at her Monday subjects.
"I have advanced transfiguration, and then we've both got herbology." Zara replied, having already put most of her weekly schedule to memory, not because she's a particularly good student, rather because she detests having to constantly consult her timetable. "I suppose we'll get to experience being heavily supervised." She added, feeling slightly put out by it. With more eyes watching the outdoor classes it would mean she would have to be even more subtle with her spells when the compulsion to bully struck. Zara feels her lips form a smirk, "Oh well, it'll just be more of a challenge."

Matteo's initial reaction to the Headmaster's announcement is one of excitement. He's never seen a dragon in the wild or even in captivity. While they might not be his favourite of supernatural beasts, he'd definitely put them not too far behind his preferred favourites. His heart does do a minor flip as he worries about the implications for his favourite subject, Care of Magical Creatures, but he's relieved to hear that it and the other outdoor classes will still be held, merely with more supervision. Matteo's next thought is to wonder whether quidditch will still run as it has. He assumes that house practices, if they're still on, will be included in the list of heavily supervised outdoor activities. His heart does another little skip as he pictures quidditch being temporarily shut down. Surely they would never be that cruel.

The hall erupts with noise as the Headmaster's announcement ended. Everyone seems to have an opinion on the dragons and why they might have travelled so far afield. Across from Matteo two of his housemates are arguing over whether the Chinese dragons had come to Germany because A) they had been called by a Master Dragon that apparently resided in Germany, or B) they had decided to migrate because the weather was better in Deutschland.

"Maybe they're just on a holiday." Matteo suggests, a wide grin on his face. The two young wizards across from him mirror his grin.
"Do you think they'll take anything home as a souvenir?" The one on the right adds, happy to go along with the joke. "A burnt sheep, or scorched tree maybe." He adds. Matteo lets out a chuckle, shaking his head at the ridiculous nature of the conversation.
"How cool would it be if they actually come here." the one of the left adds a moment later, his eyes slightly unfocused as he imagines the mighty dragons landing on the school's astronomy tower. Matteo shrugs, as much as he'd love to see a dragon he's not sure a wild dragon at school would be the best idea.
"I'd like to see one, but not if it means having to be locked in the dungeons while the teachers deal with them." He says, "Besides, what if it burnt down the quidditch pitch?" Matteo's own face is almost pale at the mere thought of it and his two acquaintances, one of whom is also on the Eden quidditch team, quickly lose their smiles.
"Don't speak such words Teo, you'll give me a heart attack." The one of the right says, clutching at a glass of water and gulping down several mouthfuls.

Matteo nods his head in apology before turning his eyes on his breakfast. As he chews through a particularly delicious croissant stuffed with everything within arm's reach, he lets his mind wonder over what this will mean for the school. It has certainly made for an interesting start to the second week, that's for sure.

Viktor nearly collided with six or seven different sets of students on his mad dash out of the breakfast hall, not escaping the disapproving stares of some of his more stern professors. Dragons! He could not have been more elated had the headmaster just stated that all students had automatically passed their final exams by simply showing up for school that day. Well...maybe not that excited, but close enough. The monolithic man child pushed his way past the large oaken doors and into the cavernous entryway, searching for a familiar face that had slipped from breakfast early that morning. Hana. He took a circuitous route down the stone hall around a particularly glib group of fourth year girls who appeared to be going into fits over the news. He couldn't fathom not being enthused at the prospect of seeing a dragon up close and personal, but then again, as large as Viktor was, there wasn't much he had to be afraid of. It had been argued, amongst some of the crueler students, that his mother must have been part giant. Such talk didn't affect Vik though, it seemed this enormous golden retriever of an adolescent radiated sunshine and happiness out of his very pores. There wasn't an overcast sky immense enough to rain on his perpetual parade. As he rounded a corner, he landed his gaze on a spill of dark hair and a tiny frame that could only belong to that of his best friend. It was odd that such a petite and easily excitable Asian girl would be so compatible with a colossal but gregarious Russian brute, but they were two peas in a misshapen pod. Hana's attentions were elsewhere, her back to Viktor, focused on Stewart as she tried to coax his gaze away from his phone screen. A mischievous grin climbed up his face like a gasoline soaked wildfire. Rare was it he could remain inconspicuous enough to sneak up on her, he was so obviously salient, after all. He just had to take advantage of such an opportune moment. In a nearly cartoonish fashion he hunched his shoulders and crept forward, his gate wide but his footfalls surprisingly silent.

Hana, much like her gargantuan companion, was ecstatic about the newsโ€”so much so that she raced out of the dining hall before the Headmaster could read off the restrictions set on the school. All she could think was, "I have to tell Stuart." Of all the muggle pop culture he's told her over the years, dragons were a mythological creature he'd been enthralled with. When he found out that they were real, Hana had been there with him, and they had been in the middle of class. Hana can remember vividly the way he shook in his seat, as if he would explode with glee, casting his gaze on her with utter exuberance as he repeatedly swatted the back of her hand. So as she rushed through the halls in a frantic searched for her bespectacled friend, Hana could only hope to get a similar reaction. She found him reclined against the stone frame of a large loophole in the castle walls, phone in his hand and Clementine in his lap. The feline spots her before Stuart does, meowing in recognition and purring upon her approach. With a smile she reaches out, petting the cat between the ears before she gets her friend's attention. "Oppa, did you hear?"

"No." he says, his voice monotone and insouciant as his thumbs tap away at his phone. It was times like this where Hana wondered just who he was texting all the time. With an exasperated roll of her eyes, she takes the phone away, something no other person in the school would be able to do without facing the immediate wrath of Stuart Twombly. "Would you listen to me?" And he does, sitting up with the epitome of 'I'm waiting' strewn across his features. "There are dragons in Germany! They're close to the school!"

Stuart's eyes widen in intrigue before something seems to catch his eye. Doing a double-take behind thick frames, the muggleborn pays witness to the ludacris sight that was Viktor Ivchenko. That is, he was trying to do some kind of reconnaissance. Perhaps it was the young man's ridiculous broad shoulders or rather his generally large size that made sneaking look comical. Regardless, it made the corner of Stuart's lip twitch in amusement. Hana's brows furrow in confusion, her lips pursing as she sees that the young man's attention is elsewhere. She turns slowly in an attempt to follow it and Stuart immediately averts his eyes, catching Hana's full attention, using getting his phone back as an excuse to turn her body ever so slightly so that her back is completely to the Russian. Then he instigates a verbal tangent, one that could completely hold her attention, all with one inquiry. "Do what now?"

Just before Hana's gaze could land on the mountainous caper, Viktor dove behind a garish suit of armor once belonging to a knight more consumed by avarice than a thirst for battle. He sucked in air, willing himself to be thinner, but no matter how hard he tried, his pectoral muscles seemed to jut out past the beaten steel. Luckily for Viktor, Stuart had the presence of mind and sense of humor enough to recapture her attentions before she could take note of the monstrosity masquerading as a man playing hide and seek with an unwitting partner. With a silent sigh of relief, he resumed his extemporaneous ambush with all the grace of a lumbering giant, furtive and feckless until he was nearly breathing down her neck.

To his astonishment, she hadn't discovered him yet so he swiftly enveloped her into a quixotic bear hug, arms capturing her and holding her in place as he lifted her fully off the ground and 'nommed' at her cheek. "Grrarugh." He mouthed, teeth harmlessly pawing at the side of her face like he meant to gourmandize her. "This Chinese Dragon has come all the way to Germany to kidnap a beautiful Asian princess. Come with me or I will GOBBLE YOU UP!" He roared in his thick accent that blanketed most of his words, laughter tracing the lines of his demand, breath ticking at the nape of her neck.

Hana had only a moment before she was hoisted into the air, letting out a panicked squeal as large arms ensnare her waist. It doesn't take but a moment for her to recognize who her captor is and with it comes a litany of giggles, her nose scrunching up as she playfully kicks her feet, leaning into the touch of her friend's lips as he mockingly chews at her cheek. As their laughter bounces off the walls, even Stuart himself cannot help but smile, pocketing his phone to watch the two blatantly flirt without either of their knowledge. "Oh, let me go Viktor!" Hana says, her voice breathless from the exertion. He places her on the ground just as she asks, their smiles mirror images of each other's own. Turning, the little Korean girl looks up at her friend, craning her neck backwards because of the height difference. "Shame on you-..." she jests, lightly smacking his abdomen, "...-scaring me like that. What were you doing?"

"Isn't it obvious?" He asked with complete utter seriousness, the mirth on his face still painfully apparent. "I was being a dragon." He looked to Stuart with a thankful expression, happy to have been in cahoots with him if only briefly. "Hey Stewie."

And Stuart has a mini-anneurism at the sound of the moniker, his expression crumbling into a countenance of pure annoyance. "Hiya, Moose." he retorts, putting on an air of faux friendliness to mask his aggravation, earning him a warning glare from Hana. He throws his hands up and stands beside the couple, shoving his hands in his pockets as Clementine nestles herself atop his messenger bag. "Professor Hardwick is probably waiting on me to help prepare for today's lesson. You'll walk Hana to class?" His tone is that of a protective older brother, his gaze hard behind glass lenses as he looks down on him regardless of the height difference.

Viktor beamed with pride, hapless to Stuart's obvious diatribe. His gifting Hana's sardonic friend with a misnomer had been an extension of friendship between the two of them, and little did Stuart know, by awarding Viktor with his own nickname, had he inadvertently solidified the comradery there in the Russian's mind. They were now officially no longer just acquaintances but friends, whether the pale bundle of bone and sass liked it or not. His replying smile was practically radiant. "Gotcha covered boss, nothing slips past this fire breather." Viktor greatly respected the bond forged between Hana and Stuart, it being akin to something of a sibling nature. He mock bowed and offered the crook of his arm to Hana to slip her own through. As per Stuart's request, he'd see she made it to class without incident.

With a heavenward roll of his eyes, Stuart departs, issuing the two a lethargic salute as he turns on his heals towards Advanced Potions. Hana herself is beaming, her smile splitting her face in half as she links arms with the much larger man. Pulling towards the opposite direction, Hana ushers him down the hall, starting up a warm-hearted conversation of equally thick accents that couldn't be coherent despite the way their voice reverberated off the walls.

Draven had always been duplicitous. Most of Magdalena knew his nature. But better to whisper behind his back and smile on the other side of their hand though than to oppose him. He had money and connections, his pureblood status and family renound kept him in everyones faux good graces. The pompous sixth year sauntered over to Zara and leaned against the table, elbows braced behind him on it's edge, headless of the curious glances from the Vorne house members. He was a Stark and this wasn't his table, but their families were well acquainted so it stood to reason that they'd be too. She was an attractive pure-blood girl, what was not to like? Besides they had similar enough dispositions. "Listening to these prats rattle on is something soothingly akin to having one's teeth wrenched out." Draven complained, his light English accent tinted with an air of disgust. "I swear I heard one of the professors complaining just now 'One day, the campus is completely bare, empty. The next, there are children everywhere...like locusts. Crawling around, mindlessly bent on feeding and mating. They're worse than the dragons.' I wonder if he ever considered, given his obvious abhorrence of children, that a teacher was not, perhaps, his true vocation?" He laughed, picking a grape off of her plate and plopping it in his mouth. "Dolts the lot of them." He flirtatiously tossed a wink to Zara's friend beside her with enough in front of her to feed a mule. Draven had the quintessential Taunton look; bright blue eyes and hair that shone like a freshly minted copper penny. He would be considered comely were it not for that smile that cut like a knife.

"Can you believe we have to deal with dragons now by the way? You'd think they'd postpone classes in the event one of their sodding students could potentially be flambรฉed." His smile turned into a sneer. "I mean how important is Care of Magical creatures at any rate. Why don't they call it what it really is, glorified grounds keeping." He snorted. "Rules be damned, I'll protect myself if I have to." Draven tapped his cloak pocket where his wand was stashed, meaning to sound impressive.

Zara is growing tired of breakfast, or rather she's growing irritated by the number of students incessantly discussing the recent news. The first year girl she had noticed earlier has succumbed to her tears, great droplets now streaking down her red cheeks. Other members of Vorne house have gathered around the distressed girl, offering support and sympathy. Zara just wants to gag. She's about to open her mouth to let the girl know that she should take her blubbering somewhere else, when a welcome distraction arrives in the form of Draven Taunton. He relaxes against the table beside her, oblivious or uncaring of the sudden attention his arrival has drawn from the other members of Vorne house. However, none of them say anything, either because they know of Draven's reputation, or of Zara's.

Zara listens to Draven's words with an amused smile on her face. Her irritation has vanished, now that she has someone she can complain with. He too seems to share her view that the amount of whining currently resounding in the hall is painfully infuriating. Although his annoyance doesn't seem to have affected his flirting ability as he casts Lucie, Zara's friend, a wink. Lucie, who had something of a problem talking around any good-looking boys, went bright red and quickly bit into a pastry in order to hide her embarrassment. Zara, who is quite used to her friend's quirks after five years at Magdalena with her, turns her back on Lucie in order to both give Lucie some privacy while she stuffs her face, and to give Draven her full attention.

Draven has a cockiness that Zara has always found attractive, and a similarity in manner that had helped confirm their friendship in the early days. Their parents are well acquainted too and Zara still remembers tedious magical gatherings made slightly more bearable by Draven's company. It also didn't hurt that Draven was physically attractive as well, having a bit of eye-candy appearing every so often did nothing to dampen Zara's mood. Now too she found her mood lifting thanks for Draven's remarks, a light laugh escaping as he calls Care of Magical Creatures glorified groundskeepers.

"I see you're as charitable as always, Draven." Zara tells him, a smirk playing across her face, "I have to agree with you. I've never seen the point of Care of Magical Creatures. But surely if any class is in danger of dragon attacks, Care of Magical Creatures is the best bet. Who knows, perhaps if we are lucky the dragons will pick off a few of the more irritating ones while the rest of us run for the dungeons."

She had to raise an eyebrow at Draven's insinuation that he could take on a dragon himself. Zara didn't doubt that he was a talented wizard, but for her she is perfectly happy to leave taming of the wayward dragons to the professionals. Why over-exert yourself when someone else can deal with it? However Zara is perfectly happy to play along with Draven's bold statement. Pursing her lips slightly she tilts her head, making a show of inspecting Draven. "I suppose we would have to call you some ridiculous name if you took down a dragon. Draven, The Dragons' Dread perhaps? Or how about Taunton the Tamer?" Zara teases, her lips slowly returning to an grin. "Although watch that your eyebrows don't get incinerated. You're nothing without your eyebrows honey."

Excited - Tired
Magdalena Academy
September 8th
Image
Ani entered the hall late, as she had accidentally overslept, and the Headmaster had just ended his speech. "เค…เคชเคถเคฌเฅเคฆ shit," she swore and sighed dramatically, it must have been rather interesting, considering the contained chaos that erupted throughout the hall. Of course today was the first night where she had actually slept deeply, the sudden time difference and weather change always messed with her sleep schedule. She was still tired, though not as much has she had been the past couple of days, and though she had planned to look nice to today, Ani had just ended up throwing her hair up into a bun to avoid the annoying task of brushing it, which she never used magic for. She felt as though she looked like she had just rolled out of bed, which she technically had, but shook the feeling of and set forth into the crowded and loud hall. She scanned the sea of students for a familiar face and found Teo easily.

They never had really finished their conversation on the first day back, they had been interrupted by the welcoming speech, so she didn't know his schedule all to well. She walked over and sat down next to him, furrowing her brows in confusion as he ans his friends mentioned dragons. She most certainly needed some clarification if this was what the Headmaster speech was about. it would certainly explain the confusion in the hall.

"What is all this dragon talk about?" She asked, grinning hello at all of them, if there were dragons here that would mean that her Herbology class later this morning would be supervised extra carefully. She didn't particularly enjoy the class anyway, it never was her strong suit, but this would make it even worse. She grabbed some toast and jam. Although she wasn't scared of dragons, she had seen them a couple of times since her uncle worked with them, though they were Indian dragons which meant they were of a smaller, but ferocious breed.

She looked across the hall to see other people's reactions. Since she kept hearing the word dragon over again, she figures that there really must have been a sighting. At the Vorne table she could see Zara and Draven smirking at each other, no doubt planning something or making fun of the others who were panicking around them, she threw a smile their way, their attitude was certainly justified and expected, it wasn't as if the teachers were throwing them out to defeat the dragons in hand-to-hand combat.

Keira had not managed to get more than a few words in with Zara the previous evening, due in great part to the somewhat annoying 'responsibilities' that she has apparently been tied up with due to her newly attained role of head girl. She had, of course, been thinking of the freedoms the title would allow her, but had quite blissfully chosen to ignore the fact that teachers would expect her to actually fulfill duties and be a 'good example' so that 'younger students have a role model' and other rubbish like that. Honestly, Keira had been quite content to tune out half of the lecture one of her professors had chosen to pull her aside for. They apparently feared for the school with Keira being raised as a model student, and perhaps for good reason given that she tends to adore trouble, competition, and the sort of bluntness that most teachers regard as disrespectful. Once again, all rubbish, really, but she still manages to get in trouble for it.

Anyway, she resolved upon waking that she would find, and likely pester, Zara at breakfast. After the announcement about dragons, which manages to terrify plenty of the students and send some younger ones into tears but only intrigues Keira, the head girl stands up and begins to make a beeline towards the Vorne table to grace Zara with her presence. Well, that's the word she likes to use anyway, though perhaps Zara would not entirely agree. Theirs was a relationship built on initial hatred, and the continuing rivalry and friendly mocking is a vestige of that.

Unfortunately, Keira is beat to the Vorne girl by another member of the Stark house, the Taunton boy who might as well not have a given name, for all the individuality he seems to possess. Keira views him as a carbon copy of his family, at least from what she's seen of him, but this might just be her usual kneejerk opinion of anyone who demonstrates prejudice against non-purebloods. No, in fact, it is exactly her kneejerk reaction. She isn't muggle born, but her mother is a muggle, and she'll be damned if she lets others look down on Mrs. Lance, who is honestly perhaps more badass than her treasure hunting husband. In Keira's very biased opinion, anyway.

Coming up towards Zara despite the company she is keeping, Keira leans slightly to the side, most likely still out of Taunton's view since she is behind him, and makes a face that is equal parts amusing and childish. Of course, she is not one to be frightened off by anyone, certainly not Draven, and thus her face is followed by Keira walking up to the table and sitting down on it, effectively making herself taller than Taunton. On purpose? There is a very distinct possibility of this.

"Good morning, lovely. Do you suppose that they'll let me go fight the dragons? I can be the school's champion, it'd be brilliant," she starts the conversation with a grin quite rudely interrupting anything that the two might have been saying to one another. Tact has never been her greatest of skills --she really just relies on the thick skin of others in order to make friends.

"I suppose we would have to call you some ridiculous name if you took down a dragon. Draven, The Dragons' Dread perhaps? Or how about Taunton the Tamer? Although watch that your eyebrows don't get incinerated. You're nothing without your eyebrows honey." Draven laughed, the sound as sudden as a quail flushed from cover, waggling said eyebrows in a comedic fashion in response. "Are you kidding? They'd have to take more than some facial hair from me to knock me off Magdalena's 'Hot One Hundred' list."

Just as he began to contemplate which of the two names she had awarded him with had more gravitas and was preferred, Keira Lance waltzed up behind him and stole a seat, interrupting the homogeneous pair. "Good morning, lovely. Do you suppose that they'll let me go fight the dragons? I can be the school's champion, it'd be brilliant." She stated with aplomb as though it were factual and not opine.

His brow climbed skyward, surprised that she'd go so far as to ignore his presence so blatantly, it was obvious she didn't mean to address him. "That's rich, a Half-Blood being the champion of the school? That'll happen when Grindylow's fly." Draven replied without provocation in an attempt to assuage his slightly bruised ego by impugning her blood status.

A slight hush fell over the tempestuous crowd seated at the table, all clamoring for last minute second helpings before rushing off so's not to be late for class. It was a bit harsh, even for him as mostly Muggle Borns were the Pure Blood target of choice, but he had no qualms about letting his opinion be known in regards to all of those he considered tainted. It was an axiom at this school that a Taunton didn't go unaddressed or unnoticed.

Zara gives a derisive snort as Draven mentions the 'Hot One Hundred' list. Modesty is one trait that appears to have bypassed Draven completely. Of course, if one were to look at Zara's own personality one would also find a distinct lack of the trait. "I wasn't aware that we had a list, or even enough heart throbs to make up one hundred." Zara replies, "Twenty perhaps might be a better estimate of this school's male population. But I'll allow that you would make the top five." She's just teasing now, playfully denying Draven the top spot.

Zara's attention is drawn away from Draven by the arrival of another of her friends, Kiera Lance. Kiera and Zara have not always seen eye to eye, in fact there was a time when the two were bitter rivals. However, time and perhaps a better understanding of the other, has seen the two become friends. Zara may still feel the odd competitive pang around Kiera, but that hasn't stopped her from enjoying the other girl's company. Right now Zara is rather pleased with Kiera's arrival as the pair haven't had much of an opportunity to catch up yet. Kiera takes a seat on the table, proclaiming that she can be the school champion.

Before Zara can reply Draven does. Zara well knows Draven's prejudice against muggle borns and isn't too surprised to hear him insulting Kiera based on her blood-status. While Zara herself is purebood she prefers to discriminate people based on their personality, appearance and so forth. Blood status has little to do with it in her eyes, she's just as likely to trip up a pureblood as she is a muggleborn if they get on her nerves. However, while she herself is slightly less prejudiced than Draven, she has yet to admonish him for his views. So, while she might not actively bully someone based on their ancestry, she rarely steps in to put a stop to it.

"Such drama and it is still so early in the day." Zara says. She places a calming hand on Draven's shoulder, while glancing up at Kiera, "Don't mind Draven, Kiera, he's just crushed that you didn't compliment him on his hair." Zara turns her attention back to Draven. Her hand brushes an imaginary piece of dust off his shoulder as she adds, "It's looking lovely by the by, and did you work out over the holidays? You can definitely tell." It's one part an attempt to mend his wounded ego, and one part gentle teasing. Both Draven and Kiera are strong individuals. She has no doubt that a battle of wits between the two would be an interesting affair to watch, Zara suspects that neither would back down without a fight. While that would surely be entertaining, and Zara is still questioning whether she'd attempt to step in if it came to blows, she also knows that in the middle of the Great Hall is not the ideal location for it.

"You two make a girl feel so safe." She says a moment later, removing her hand from Draven's shoulder and holding it over her heart in a mock 'damsel in distress' fashion. "I know who to call if those dragons come calling. It is exactly what I would expect from Stark's Head Girl and Magdalena's own top one hundred hottie."

There is definitely something to be said with regards to a warm breakfast. Nothing quite hits the spot like bacon and eggs washed down with a side of fresh, pulpy orange juice. Most people are aware of Matteo's mountainous appetite, perhaps only rivaled by the 6th year Lucie (Zara's friend) from Vorne house. His appetite and love of food is the reason his sisters nicknamed him Grasso from a young age, and the reason all of the elves in the kitchen know him by name and vice versa. He knows that he only has to ask his favourite elf, Bringles, for a particular item and the elf will have it ready for him in the blink of an eye.

Even all this talk about dragons does little to dampen Matt's appetite and he's halfway through his colossal meal when Anita Kapoor takes a seat beside him. She apparently has missed the announcement that dragons have been spotted in Germany, but has easily caught on to enough gossip floating around the hall to know that something regarding dragons is up. Teo happily takes it upon himself to fill his friend in on the gossip, "Headmaster just announced that Chinese Dragons have been seen in Germany. All outdoor classes will be heavily supervised and we're to run screaming to the dungeons if we see a dragon flying towards us." Teo's embellishment brings a grin to his face.

He's only slightly perturbed at the thought of having more supervision at Care of Magical Creatures. He hopes all the extra supervision won't put off the animals. Some species don't like large crowds and some of the creatures that are regulars to the class, those that live on the grounds with the CoMC's teacher or in the forest, have only just grown comfortable with Matteo. He'd hate to think what a sudden rush of strangers would do to the more jumpy ones. Then again, he suspects that a dragon attack would have far worse consequences than a couple of supervising teachers. "You know, I don't mind this whole supervision thing... just as long as they don't spook the animals." He says to Anita a moment later.

Zara hastily attempted bridging the gap between the head girl and Draven, rather optimistic that she could prevent a fight by doling out some compliments. It had to be difficult to balance with one foot on either side of the proverbial fence, precariously straddling the razor sharp line between the two friends. Draven himself was fairly pleased though that she harbored more regard for his temper than Keira's as she chose to praise his physical appearance solely. His blue eyes flicked over to the Half Blood and noted her vacuous expression, opting to let sleeping dogs lie. It would be a fight for another day, he supposed. He was simply too pretty to stay angry. He might wrinkle.

Draven flashed his schoolmate an indolent, salacious grin. "Of course, if there is a Hot One Hundred list for the men of the school, you must know there is one for the women as well." He tapped his temple with his index finger lightly, one of his brows giving a slight arch as he did so. "And as one of the top most ranked individuals of said list, this soon to be dragon slayer has the privilege of knowing just where you ladies sit on your version. It's classified information, however, if you are exceptionally kind to me, it very well might be incumbent upon me to let you in on the well kept secret." Draven stated monotone, teasing them with the offer.

His expression turned cheeky as he swipped Zara's drink and took a swig before rising to stand with a stretch. The man had little to no regard for other people's personal space or possessions; he was like some insolent, contented house cat who ruled the roost and quarreled with the other pets, taking ownership of all the furniture by raking his claws down the side of it. "At any rate, I haven't time for your worship just this second. If I'm not off now, I'm going to be late for class." He slid a sideways glance a Keira and frowned. "Isn't it like, a sin or something, for a headgirl to be tardy? Don't you get demoted for that sort of thing?" He hooked his arm and extended the bow to Zara. "Walk with me? You're pretty much done with your food anyway, and if I leave you, who would protect you from a potentially life threatening dragon attack?" The victorious expression he wore then was a petty one.

The moment that Taunton, the prat, decides that the best comment to be made towards Keira is one about her blood status, the young woman's eyebrows shoot up. Playfully knock at her skill, she will only respond jokingly, confident that she is more than competent. But attacking a person's heritage is not something Keira is all too fond of accepting, especially from a wealthy, privileged pureblood like Draven. Some part in the back of her mind muses, Well at least he isn't racist, but this is precisely the same thing in the Wizarding World, and the thought is more sarcastic than anything else. Not that there aren't students here who manage to be both racist and blood-bigots, of course. There will always be insufferable twits, no matter how lovely a place otherwise is. It's something Keira has learned to accept, though she is far from complacent about it.

Keira is about to make a snide comment, probably something to do with the fact that he's more snake than dragon and might be better off slithering home, or something along those lines, when Zara cuts in. It is clear that the girl is trying to stop a fight before it starts, rightfully so given that Keira and Draven are both capable of being some of the more dangerous members of the student body if provoked, but Keira's eyebrows remain up. She looks at Draven with the sort of curious displeasure that one might use while observing a stranger vomit, or a grotesque creature previously unseen. Her gaze adds a very slight smirk, or perhaps the beginnings of a grin, to its arsenal, even as Zara decides to try and placate Draven over Zara. Taunton might interpret it one way, but to Keira it is a sign that Zara believes Keira less of an egomaniac. Her temper is no less dangerous for this, of course, but it luckily is able to simmer away. Were it not for Zara, she might have been prompted to challenge him to a duel already. Plenty of people, muggleborns and halfbloods alike, might have rallied behind her for this.

Keira's smile grows once more, as she seems almost ready to chuckle at Zara's little act of a damsel, knowing the girl to be far from it indeed, "What's Taunton going to do --make eyes at the dragons until they go away? Please." Keira responds dismissively. The arrogant side of her does not view him as a significant threat, not when parted from his wealth and influence. Behind the money is an average wizard, as far as she's concerned, and Keira decides to let it slide for the first day of school. She supposes the Head Girl can't be starting fights on the very first day, after all.

Not the sort to be concerned with appearances, she is less than impressed with Draven's comment about telling them where they lie on the 'hottie list' or whatever nonsense he's spouting. Were they friends, she might have found the comment amusing. As it is Draven, she merely finds it boring.

"If it were, they wouldn't have chosen me," she responds breezily, before looking at Zara. It is a good thing that her rivalry with the girl had evolved into a friendship, or else these two would be absolutely sickening to Keira. "I hope you'll keep your wand out --he's likely about as useful as a porcelain flower vase. See you at dueling club, yeah? I've got to get to Charms."

She glances once more at Draven, giving him a critical sort of once over before laughing lightly to herself, her thoughts going unstated but the fact that they only dismiss him further clear, before departing from the duo to head off to Advanced Charms.

Zara is successful in helping to prevent a magical fight between her two friends, although other factors might also have come in to play besides her own comments and she would hardly credit herself completely with keeping the peace. Still, she's rather pleased with herself and is happy to laugh along at both her friends' comments, even the ones poking fun at the other. Draven's mention of a female 'hottie list' has her rolling her eyes too, although the ever present smirk on her face seems to reveal her amusement at the idea of such a list.

"Darling Draven, I know exactly where I stand on that list and I must say, I'm honoured to top it." She retorts with a wink, flicking her hair back over her shoulder. Truthfully Zara has never heard of 'the list' before, and, as with the Male Hot One Hundred, believes it to be a figment of Draven's imagination. But she's happy to play along, besides she's fairly confident that she would rank fairly high on any real list.

She watches as Draven helps himself to her drink. She is accustomed to Draven and his complete misunderstanding of personal space and possessions. While the quirk might put other people off, Zara has rarely found it troubling, and on the odd occasion where it becomes a problem she's never had any hesitations about letting Draven know. And, if she were being completely honest Zara would admit that she's not always the best at respecting other people's possessions either.

Draven, at any rate, seems to have had enough of Zara's drink and stands, offering her his arm in a gentleman like fashion. She let's him wait a moment as Zara turns her attention to Keira. Keira warns Zara to keep her wand on her, comparing Draven's effectiveness in a battle to that of a porcelain vase. Zara chuckles, and then nods in answer to Keira's question. "Ja, I will see you there. Save your first duel for me and we'll be able to see who got sloppy over the break." Zara says, doubting that Keira would have let her skill slip at all but not being able to hold back the light teasing. While the two girls might not be rivals anymore, Zara's competetiveness She gives Keira a cheerful salute as she leaves, before standing and linking her arm with Draven.

"I will see you in Herbology Lucie." Zara says in farewell to her friend, who is still eating her hearty breakfast. Then, turning her attention back to Draven she sends him a mocking smile, "Lead on Dragons' Dread." Zara gives a quick gasp, her free hand flying up to cover her mouth as she corrects herself, "Or should I now call you my porcelain vase?"
