Zaida walked the somewhat scummy streets of the city, a thick coat worn on her body due the frigid temperature it was that night. Her legs and feet where bare though, even with the cold air she still wasn't going to let it get the best of her when I came to clothing options. The young girl sighed as she passed the people on the street, they stared at her with the most unkind of looks, as if they knew what she was. More than likely by the color of her skin they did. It was hard for her to hide her white skin and hair, but she wasn't ashamed of what she was. She was born into her body and there wasn't very much she could do about it.

Zaida heard someone yelling beast from a few feet away and watched as a tin can flew towards someone sitting on the sidewalk. Whomever it was quickly walked away from the situation, it was most likely better for them to do so than start a fight. The girl became curious though on who the man was and slowly followed behind him, making sure she was far enough to not get noticed. The man had entered an abandoned old building, it was deteriorating and disgusting, but he'd probably had no other place to do.

She'd made her way over to the building, being as quiet as she could be as not to alarm him but gently made her way over to him. He was lying on the floor, curled up in a somewhat sleeping position. Zaida leaned over a bit and studied him, he was tall, very tall that is and in all honestly it intimidated her quite a bit.

Wren had been out for hours now, much longer than she'd intended, and she could feel the cold settling deep in her bones, weighing her down with every step. She shivered in her inadequate hoodie, tugging down the too-short sleeves to cover her now numb fingers. The city was black, all shadows and dark figures, and she tread with caution, her eyes darting from face to hooded face. Dealers, druggies, the Naevins- they all liked to play at this hour. The streets were the last place you wanted to be, but Wren was out anyway, skulking around the dilapidated buildings of Zeit-Ende.

She wasn't on any kind of business- Actually, no one was. How could anyone have business in the midst of a blackout? The only business was survival- finding a way to get through these bone-chilling nights. Every day you awoke to a fresh crop of dead bodies and a new batch of horror stories about what had gone down the night before. How many days in darkness now? She couldn't remember the last time there'd been power and heat, but it couldn't have been that long...right? Not that it mattered; the past was irrelevant.

Wren's stomach growled, a jarring sound that only served to worsen her already foul mood. She was cold, tired, and irritable, though as of late the irritability was more a constant state of being than a passing emotion. She needed to find somewhere to bed down for the night- somewhere dry and safe and warm, preferably, but she was willing to compromise, at least on the safe part. She slipped down a shadowy alley, wandered past a couple particularly nasty buildings, and came out beside the building in which Kava and Zaida were now occupying.

They were Naevins, she could tell by their coloring, and she backed off into the shadows, watching them quietly. Some were harmless, no more than pesky scavengers, but they were unpredictable creatures. She'd run across a few who were particularly nasty, and she didn't care to recreate the meeting, particularly not in the dead of night, the city's most dangerous time. Biting her lip, she turned to the building immediately to her right and looked it over. There were a few pallets just inside the door she might use for a bed, and if she could find a couple cardboard boxes lying around she might be able to build a decent shelter within the husk of the abandoned building. Satisfied with her plan, she slipped inside to begin her work.

Zaida instantly jumped back when the man had so quickly jumped when he'd realized her presence. The girls stepped back a few feet away from him, her heart racing from the timidating fear she felt. She was soon regreting following this Naevin, but as usual it was her curiosity that got her into situations like this. Hair dropped over one side of her face as she looked down, listening to him speack yet far too nervous to talk back. Tjis Naevin's words didn't sound threatening, mostly irritation could be heard in his voice.

"I'm not here to hurt anyone," hervoice was soft and calm as she spoke," I was only curious about you, I didn't mean to startle you." Zaida's face was still looking towards the ground, but her eyes shifted up to look at him, her pale eyes looking his figure over. The Naevin could sense another life in the area as well, though she ignored it for the time being.
