After multiple unsuccessful experiments, the Institute for Cybernetics in Avaon is sure this time that they can replace the human body for medical purposes. They need volunteers however. The bodies are not as dynamic as organic bodies and doesn't really resemble the human anatomy on the inside but rather that of a robot. But from there they can work on it and include the input of their "patients". The patients must cope with the new bodies and the stares they get from other people. However luckily it shouldn't take long to match human ability. While testing the volunteers get to know each other better. Some might see the new bodies as the first step towards immortality and it might get a bit much for them to handle.

The bodies: On the inside they are robotic and the head contains space for a brain casing. The anatomy doesn't resemble a human skeleton and the actual human appearance comes from the face that has hundreds of artificial muscles and can be detached revealing circuitry and sensors (for sight). The skin is a latex mix. Due to the appearance from the face and artificial skin, a change of appearance is easy. Walking with the body needs getting used to and while the body can withstand lots of weight, more than a jogging speed is not possible. The procedure is irreversible, which means once you get rid of your organic body, there is no way back.


Avaon: Avaon is a bright metropolis on the coast. The institute is rather more land inwards along the river. There is a mall and a pedestrian zone near the institute. The volunteers can spend their time there or walk on the campus of the institute. Local trainportation can go by car, train, bus, monorail or subway.

The institute: The institute is made up of several building and a large property. Greenery surrounds the buildings. There is the main research building where parts and such are created. Next to it is the medical building that features beds and operating rooms. Further over is the recreation building with a gym, a cafeteria, an internet cafe, wireless highspeed internet anywhere and a pool (the volunteers can't go swimming for the time being as their bodies can't withstand much water yet). The dorms/apartments are on the other side of the research building. Each volunteer can have an own apartment with anything they desire that is reasonable. Everything extra has to be bought with the pay they get every two weeks.
