Blonde, powerful and intimidating - Dominique Weasley was more than prepared to take on her sixth year at Hogwarts. Admired by many and envied by the rest, Dom became unpredictable and untamable like a wildfire, no one could stop the Weasley girl and her mischevious antics. She got what she wanted whenever she wanted it. Until she met Frank.
Franklin Longbottom was like an organized mess. Everything out of place but somehow coherent enough to fit together in one human being. Loyal, sweet and mostly like a lost puppy, he followed Dominique around like the princess she was not.
Strangely enough, destiny decided to cross their paths and sooner than later they found each other magnetized by their presence, blinded by something they could not pinpoint. And it became more dangerous that expected.
Like the calm before the storm, at first, everything seemed nice and promising, but after it was too late and neither of them could get out of the hole they had dug themselves into, they found each other suffocating.
Because only a fool would fall that deep.

HISTORY OF MAGIC. possible the single most boring class in hogwarts. he would be asleep by now if it weren't for the illustrious beauty of dominique odette weasley. he was s t a r i n g and it would be obvious to if he wasn't in the back row behind everybody, with his head shuffled into his arms as he slouched onto the table. he turned to his book every few seconds, slowly sketching a small drawing of her in the corner of his book. creepy? maybe. but, no one was going to get into his book anyway if he had something to say about it.
' MISTER LONGBOTTOM? ' the professor must have said for the fourth time. his head shot up and instantly tried to gather his thoughts from previous lessons. blah, blah, giant wars, blah, blah, essay, blah, blah. nope. nothing. okay, frankie, just, you know, act natural. like you actually knew what you were going to say. ' --- uhh, i'm sorry, what? '

If there was a class that made Dom feel less airheaded than people considered her to be, it was History of Magic. She was quite good at remembering dates and names, and proudly flaunted the fact every time the professor asked the students a question by answering it first. Of course, scoring Gryffindor points in the process.
But today she was too busy eye flirting with Maurice O'Connor. A member of the Hufflepuff Quidditch team and a total heartthrob. She had heard some rumors that he had been asking around about her, so she was glad she'd found her new boy toy for the week.
Sadly, before their eyelash-batting contest could get any more R-rated, the professor scolded one of her classmates from the very back, causing her to loose eye contact with Maurice. Rolling her eyes in annoyance, she looked back at the 'Mister Longbottom' the professor so fervently called for and waited to see what was going on.

frank's eyes darted between each and every eye that had shot towards him. now the anxiety was kicking in. his eyes lasted a few seconds long on dominique and her hufflepuff hunk, maurice. ' what did i just ask the class, franklin? ' the boy scratched the back of his head, eyes shooting down from his book to the professor again briefly. ' uhh, i-i-i'm not really sure, sir. '
the literally ghostly teacher replied with a sigh, as if he has to deal with this millions upon millions of times in his life span, which he probably has. ' do you want to show everyone what you were really doing when the rest of the class was working. ' frank hummed, ' umm, no, not really, sir. ' the teacher tilted his head at him, ' so, you were doing something? ' he sighed under his breath, ' uhh, yeah. yeah sir. '
' well. sit down and listen. meet me after the class. ' frank sighed, eyes hovering themselves back to dominique again, to see her reaction, probably a laugh at his humiliation. and he plopped back down in his seat. great, detention. just what he needed. he turned his eyes to maurice, who moved his head to his friend he sat beside, probably whispering something about how frank was a ' freaky loser. ' as much as he wanted to put that dick in his place, frank had only done that once. and it didn't end well.

She knew of him, of course, and had seen him at some of her family gatherings with his two siblings always by his side - but she had never actually looked at him. He was cute, she wouldn't deny that, and something about his stuttering voice and awkward body language made Dom want to figure out more about him.
Maurice snickered at Frank and turned to his friends to insult him. Immediately Dom rolled her eyes and looked back to the front of the class. Sure, he might've been a little ( or a lot ) weird but that didn't give Maurice an excuse to insult the poor guy. Dom believed everyone deserved equal respect, even if they weren't part of what some called the 'it crowd'.
After another long lecture on History of Magic, the class was finally over and the students dismissed. She gathered her books in her arms and turned around to leave the class with the rest of her friends. But before she exited the classroom, she made sure to turn around and look for Frank's eyes, waiting for him to make eye contact with her. the rest of franklin's class was relatively the same, sketching in his notepad. not even learning his lesson from his humiliation. and putting up with his teacher's lecture on responsibility silently and obediently. he quickly wandered out of the classroom, tossing a pair of headphones on his head.
his gaze connected with dominique's at the end of the hall for no more than a few seconds before he awkwardly tried to avert his eyes to the floor, obviously avoiding her attention. you could tell acting natural wasn't really his strong suit.
his shoulders hit against maurice's as he didn't watch where he was going. ' hey, watch it, suicide squad! ' frank brushed himself off as he continued to walk down the stairs.

Dom's oportunity to get to know Frank came way faster than she expected - and in a way she absolutely hated. But, hey, she wasn't complaining. Soon after Frank stepped out of the classroom too, he bumped into Maurice who, like the asshole he was, insulted Frank and tried acting all tough. Dom was not impressed.
" Oh shut up O'Connor, no one finds your insults clever. And anyone who laughs at them is because they pity your poor imagination, " she shot back, earning herself a couple of shocked looks. You know, for a Hufflepuff, Maurice sometimes acted like a bitch.
One of Maurice's friends who was standing beside him the whole time looked at Dom with doubtful eyes, " What's up, Blondie? Into freaks now, aren't you? " he asked.
" Since you and your stupid little clique have proven to be so unworthy, I guess I am, " she said confidently, flipping her hair behind her shoulders, " plus, I happen to think Suicide Squad is pretty fucking cool. "

' sounded good to frank. he looked in awe at dominique, as if she couldn't get anymore perfect. the way she stood up for him made him just like her that much more. even after he looked like such a fool in front of the entire history of magic class. she still noticed him. he ran a hand through his hair as she walked away alongside him.
' i hope you're talking about the comics, because, well --- the movie isn't great. ' he attempted to joke, chuckling awkwardly after.
' THAT WAS NICE. '

Giggling at Frank's subtle comment against the Suicide Squad movie, she shook her head and corrected him " God no, my little brother Louis made me read the fourth volume with him when we were younger, " Dom said, looking over at Frank a little embarassed " but don't tell my friends or I'l never hear the end of it. "
She ran her fingers through her long blonde hair and twirled some of it with her fingers as they walked ahead. When Frank thanked her for standing up against Maurice and his friends for him, she brushed it off as if it hadn't been a big deal. " Don't mention it - Maurice was a twat anyway, he had it coming. " Dominique was silently celebrating Maurice had created such a scene so she could have the opportunity to talk to Frank.
Unsure of what to say next, and feeling a little awkward she asked, " So, Frank, what class do you have next? "

' oh, i see--- ' frank looked at her and bit a lip instinctively, looking to the ground soon after, with a small shy smile tugging at his lips. everything she was saying just made her that much more perfect. maurice didn't deserve dominique. almost everyone at hogwarts didn't. not even frank. that's why maurice just threw it all away. like everyone else.
he sighed, clenching his jaw as he thought about the other male.
frank quickly scrambled through his thoughts, ' uhh, arithmancy. i think. and, umm, muggle studies. the second most boring class in hogwarts history. or i might have a free period. i can't really remember to be honest. ' he let out a small awkward chuckle, scratching his head. ' urgh, what about you? --- anything special or whatever? '

Dom never thought she'd say this, but Frank biting his lip had just become her second favorite thing in the world - the first one being her Gucci Princetown leather slippers with embroidered roses. It made her mad, how she'd known about him all this time but had never really taken the time to get to know him or just look at him properly. And when he said she deserved better than Maurice? Well, she'd be lying if she didn't say she melted, just a little.
After Frank's explanation of his scrambled schedule, she shook her head and smiled happily, " Nope, just free period. If you have one too we can hang out? " she said the last part rather hesitantly and after that, she quickly turned towards him and cleared things up " But of course you don't have to if you don't want to. "

She knew Frank was a bright student and she felt stupid compared to his Ravenclaw skills. Honestly, she just wanted to impress him ( which wasn't surprising as she aspired to impress almost anyone she met ).

' uhh--- ' he sucked in a breath, a girl as pretty as dominique had never asked him to hang out before. well, except for lucy, but she was, well, really gay. and ALONE? this was not gonna end well for frank. ' --- yeah, sure, umm, yeah. i mean, i have a time turner, so, if i don't, i can just go back in time. it's handy this thing, huh? '
' i might get out of these stupid robes, though, they're really uncomfortable --- like not with you or anything, just like, get out of them, before we go out. like, go out together. i mean, go out as friends, you know? '

Taking a right at the corridor she found herself staring at the ever-changing set of stairs. She turned to Frank and said, " How about I meet you at the front of the castle in twenty minutes? "

frank bolted up the stairs once he was sure he was out of sight. lord, frank, if you screw this up, you'll never be able to live it down. as quickly as possible he sprinted through the ravenclaw tower and got changed into something more comfortable. and as quickly as he came up, he ran down the stairs of said tower and made his way towards the front of the castle. ' uhh, hey. A G A I N ~ '

Well, to say Dom was surprised would be an understatement. She'd never imagined she was going to get ready today to go out and meet someone who, up until a couple of minutes ago, she thought was a freak geek. But there she was, in the Gryffindor common room, all ready and changed out of her robes, giving herself a pep talk to calm down before she went out to meet Frank.
After a few breathing exercises, she was ready, and she took the stairs two at a time to get down to the front of the castle from her common room. She wanted to take Frank to the boathouse, a place she went rather often to clear her thoughts. If she wanted to make out she'd probably sneak him into the Room of Requirement, but something about Frank made him stand out from her regular boy toys and she just didn't want to skip straight into kissing.
Once downstairs and after a few minutes of waiting she heard Frank behind her and said hello back. " Come on, I want to take you somewhere, " she said, taking Frank's hand and smiling up at him, " It's nowhere special but I like to go there when I want privacy. " She hoped not to scare Frank away, honestly, she just wanted to get to know him better but away from everyone else.

a shy smile tugged at frank's lips as she took his hand gently, tugging him to follow her. his face was already a slight shade of red. her hands felt so nice. wait, wait, wait, what did she mean by privacy? --- now frank was really blushing. surely she didn't mean what he thought she meant. ' where are we going? ' he wandered after her, like a small puppy, really.
frank followed the other as she took him to the boathouse. ' is this where you take every boy you suddenly ask to hang out with? ' he chuckled, trying to joke and calm his nerves a little. he didn't let go of the other's hand, even when he went to sit at the edge of the boathouse, his feet just hanging above the water. her hand just felt nice. hopefully, she didn't think

Dom laughed at Frank's accusation. Even though it was clearly a joke, she knew why he suspected such a thing from her. She was so predictable in the eyes of everyone else, that's why she wanted someone from outside of her social circle to talk to. So he wouldn't judge her like everyone else and wouldn't try kissing her ass to climb the social ladder. Or at least she hoped not.
Well aware of how he didn't let go of her hand, she took him inside without hesitation. " Oh Frank, you should worry when I decide to take you to the Room of Requirement, " she answered, winking at him to add on to the joke, " this is simply where I come to think. ‘ oh, yeah, right. makes more sense, now that i think about it. ’ he scratched the side of his face as she winked at him, trying not to smile at the action. frank observed the horizon, the mountains peaking far away from the school. ‘ it's very, uhh, it's very pretty. out here, i mean. ’ he dipped one of his fingers in the water, glancing back towards dominique. his eyes kinda sore from the brightness of the sun, peaking through the silhouettes of two mountains beside one another.

Dom looked over at Frank and smiled, today had turned out to be a nice day. Surprisingly. It was mid-September and the weather was just perfect - not too cold or too hot, and the water looked too tempting. She'd gone for a swim a couple of times before, careful where she swam because one wrong move and she'd be any magic creature's dinner.
" Have you ever gone for a swim here? It's beautiful near the end of the year, but grindylows tend to get a little too territorial then because the boat house is right beside the ivy curtain. " Yeah, yeah, swimming in the Black Lake was against the school rules but she'd never been one to care. Plus, as long as no teacher found out about her adventures, she was safe.
