Name: Astrum
God of: Light, stars, and the cosmos
Elemental affinity: Luminosity, Spirit
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Pictures (If applicable):
Physical description of preferred forms: Astrum almost always takes the appearance of a pure white, humanoid shape with a single, reflective "eye" in the centre of its head. This "eye" seems to reflect some nebula in an unknown part of the cosmos, though which in particular is a mystery (and seems to be a sort of covert joke Astrum keeps under his guard)
Preferred Gender (If applicable): Male
Means of godhood: Originally created as a subordinate god tasked with maintaining the stars littering the cosmos, Amo'lanainnās disappearance freed Astrum from his oversight. While still technically under the charge of Adizal and Zaeltaar, Astrum rarely feels the need to please them, and will usually do his own thing- though he doesnāt actively conflict with either unless necessary to further his own goals.
Personality: Calm, collected, often severely condescending.
Worshiped by: Ordine Solari and the inhabitants of Celestius; navigators and explorers, especially seafarers; anyone else willing.
Symbols: Stars, comets, meteor showers; practically anything observable in the night sky. Blue shooting stars tend to mean the answering of a prayer, whereas red ones signify his discontent.
Divine weapon:
Purge:Always with a flair for the overkill, Astrum's weapon of choice is a precise, wide-range energy strike he has named the Purge.
Able to be fired directly from the Citadel's hidden location within Athren or in a far weaker, small-scale version by Astrum directly, it is rumoured that every time the weapon fires the energy is directly stolen from a star going supernova. Unfortunately for Astrum, the ability to annihilate whole cities at range comes with a price: every Purge is a source of indescribable pain for him, depending on the energy expended, as if one of his own organs has been instantaneously shattered, and launching multiple in succession is prone to be nearly fatal for him.
For more personal combat, Astrum wields the Cleanse, an elegant longsword that gives off its own aura of light and seems to excel at defeating monsters of darkness.
Blessings:
Vision of the All-Seeing:Carefully projected beams of visible light directly onto the eyes of a subject allows Astrum to send practically any image to them, from a message to a vision of something occurring in a totally different part of the universe. Often very confusing when first witnessed.
Curses:
Blinding Light:A brief concentration of intense radiation upon the eyes of a victim causes extensive damage to their eyes, often blinding them.
Hallucination:The evil form of Oracle, Astrum project things that simply arenāt there to the viewer. Usually causes confusion and disarray at best, and downright insanity in particularly intense doses.
Realm:
The Citadel is an immense hidden temple located deep within a cluster of black holes within Athren. Inside, it is a palace of bright lights, crystalline structures and soothing architecture. Few visit due to its concealed location and Astrum's own nature of general introversion, but those who do visit are under the watchful eye of Ordine Solari Ascendants guarding the temple.
Most notable creation (if applicable): Every star in the universe, save for the Progenitor Star that Armoth orbits, is created and maintained by Astrum.
Preferred form of worship: Astrum has a somewhat unusual demand that every house of his loyalists shall have a skylight of some form to be able to admire the stars and watch for any signs of his.
Extras (if there're any):
Ordine Solari are a ācultā composed mainly of humans and gnomes that worship the solar powers of Astrum. Filled with everything from wise men mystified by the bright stars in the sky to navigators relying on particular stars for their travels, they all dedicate themselves to Astrum.
Ordine Solari mainly inhabit Celestius, a relatively secluded island citystate. They are generally peaceful and even welcoming of foreigners, especially new converts, but are brutally efficient at combat and often bear the blessing of their patron god in war. They cannot tolerate ādarknessā and are driven by an intense fervour to combat all that they perceive as evil; their streets are illuminated at night by powerful torches and dwarven engineering wonders, and by day they charge into battle with shining armour reflecting the sun they so adore.
Ordine Solari Lightbringers are the main fighting force of Ordine Solari, charging into battle with heavy armour and equally heavy swords. There arenāt many of them compared to some armies, but those that are around are remarkably effective.
Ordine Solari Illuminators are heavily armoured elite units of the Ordine Solari military, each bearing heavy armour and heavier weapons to bring down swathes of enemies. Each Illuminator also has basic light-based abilities, chiefly the ability to fire a small pulse of light at an enemy that may burn them moderately.
Ordine Solari Ascendants may not even be human; only commonly found guarding Astrumās temples and his own personal realm, Ascendants are incredibly nimble, agile combatants that move and fight with immense speed. Featuring enhanced light powers compared to the Illuminators, seeing even a single Ascendant in battle means youāve really gotten on Astrumās bad side.
