Introduction
Kate, after graduating from a Catholic girls school, is expected to marry and becoming a loving housewife that spends her days with tea parties and charity and raising her husband's heirs. She has no ambition whatsoever to conform to her family's style of living, and moves to New York with her brother Adrian, hoping to pursue a career in writing.
Her brother Adrian, aged 23, is very charismatic and social. He is also ever the rebel and outcast of the family. He has studied law with the intention of his parents to work in the family business, but now he has completed his studies at Princeton his heart is not in it. He spent his college years drinking and seeking out pretty girls, and only passed becasue of his father's 'connections'. He's tired of the stuck up environment he's grown up in and hopes to continue his college-lifestyle with even more grandeur in the Big Apple. He's very fond of his sister Kate, and has convinced her to join him on his journey, hoping to free her of the terribly boring destiny of a housewife.
Once in New York, Kate finds a small job at a magazine and is shown around by her brother. One night at a party she meets a young man named Frank Sanders. It's love at the first sight, and they spend the night together. In the morning, however, he tells her he has just signed up to join the marine forces to do volunteer post-war work in Europe. Kate is very disappointed, but he will only be away for a year, and they make promises to write every day. Frank's got her heart.
The problems arise when Frank does not reply to any of her letters. Kate feels betrayed; she thought he was the love of her life, and she felt that very strongly after just one night with him. She feels lonely in the big city, and rather desperate when she loses her job. In her despair she says Yes to a proposal of a very decent man named George Grey. He's the kind of man her parents would approve of, and incredibly boring. She likes him though, and no longer believes in passion anyway.
She soon starts having doubts about the match when it turns out she's got parents in law from hell. Her parents are darlings in compare to them. Her mother in law wants control over every part of their life.
When she gets pregnant on accident, the wedding is put forward so no one will have to know of her 'position' yet.
Unfortunately , when they're married, she truly starts to find out what a mistake it was. George expects her to be the perfect housewife, and their passion is reduced to five minutes before bedtime, if she's lucky.
What exactly will happen to the marriage, and Kate and Frank, we will leave up to the RP! I should like them to come into contact again eventually, with a very good reason for Frank why he didn't write back. But I will leave that up to the person who plays him!
So, the characters we will need are the people mentioned above . If you want to be a made-up character that fits in, I can't promise I will allow it, but if it's interesting enough maybe you can convince me to! So by all means do try :)
