Blake Illum

"The lower a gijinka's health, the easier it must be to catch them, right?"

0 · 485 views · located in Chestnut Forest

a character in “Pokémon Gijinka - Monsters”, as played by ShadtheWerepire

Description

Name: Blake Illum

Age: 21

Gender: Male

Sexual Orientation: Straight

Image

Hair Color: Black

Eye Color: Red

Role: Trainer

Likes: Pokedex Flavor Text, The satisfying ding of a pokeball as it confirms a catch, Pokemon with a darker look (do not have to be dark type), Shineys, Chocolate, and sitting in trees.

Dislikes: Anything that involves him getting wet, malfunctioning technology, being unable to catch a pokemon, Gijinkas, and fish.

Fear(s): running into a legendary pokemon without any pokeballs, thus he keeps a single empty pokeball around his neck at all times.

Personality: He is what you might call a connoisseur of pokemon, while dark is his favorite type he finds enjoyment from collecting them all. As a trainer he dedicates all of his time to very few of his pokemon while amassing a large stock of no-name pokemon that only serve to fill his pokedex. Most would call this cruel, Blake merely sees pokemon as collectibles. The emergence of Gijinka’s have sparked his interest, they are pokemon that cannot be caught in balls

Pokémon: Sandile, Shuppet, Shiny Rapidash, Hoothoot, Whirlipede, Cubone.

So begins...

Blake

Leaves rustled in the breeze, birds were chirping, all was peaceful in Chestnut woods today. It was the kind of afternoon that called for a nap. Blake was sleeping soundly on a thick branch with his Shuppet floating sound asleep on his chest. His insomniac of a Hoothoot, with eyes wide open, was spinning around scanning the area for any reason to wake his trainer up.

“WHOOOO!” The hoothoot cawed suddenly receiving a groggy yawn from his trainer.

“What’s it this time?” Blake asked, his shuppet frightened by the sound now darting around above his head. The hoothoots beak pointed toward the ground a little ways away where a centipede pokemon was curled up in a bush. “Whilipede, nice find. Bane you’re on this one Shadow Sneak.”

The shuppet, disappeared into the shadows, a few moments later a pair of yellow eyes appeared over the still Whilipede before a shuppet came forth and attacked with shadowy power.

-Yukino-

Yukino shot up from her nap after hearing some sort of an attack. She stood up and began walking in the direction of the noise. She was nervous, but if there was a fight between two Pokémon, she could probably stop it. She made one of her hands into a fist as she moved towards the area nervously.

"I wonder what's going on..." She said to herself, and then held her breath as she saw where the attack had come from.

A Whirlipede was on the ground, seeming surprised. He seemed to have an injury, and a Shuppet was floating near it. Yukino guessed the Shuppet was the attacked. 'How cruel...' She thought to herself. What she saw strange was that there weren't very many Shuppet around here...in fact, Yukino had never seen one here at all.

"Enough!" Yukino yelled. "You have no reason to be fighting Shuppet!" She began to run to where the two were, not noticing Blake only just a few feet away.

Shuppet stopped and looked with wide yellow eyes at the newcomer before the whirlipede made its response; tightly curling and using rollout on the distracted ghost.

"Shuppet, ignore her, use curse." Blake didn't even wince at the hit shuppet took, glancing at the girl for a moment before giving his orders. Shocked and confused Shuppet chose to ignore Blake instead and begins to float over to the strange girl, who Blake was clearly not giving enough attention.

"What, Why?" he contested as shuppet continued to float off, he had a pokemon to catch and had no time for a little girl crying over a pokemon battle. "Fine, Bird Brain, Finish up what you started." He waved the hoothoot down from his perch. The derpy bird floated in the air above the bug pokemon as it continued its roll-out straight into a tree. As soon as it hit and showed weakness the bird flew at the bug hurting it far more than the shuppet had.

-Yukino-

Yukino's rage grew. Instead of being scared about the human, her rage grew inside, quicker than ever. Usually the Pokémon here would listen to her when she told her to stop, but if a trianer was here, they wouldn't listen to her. But this trainer...he didn't even care abot his own Pokémon who was confused and injured. Then he told his other Pokémon to attack the already injured one? She quickly helped the Shuppet do to the ground so he wouldn't wander off to far, and then she turned back to the fight. Her hands became fists as she watched for a moment. She decided quickly that she wouldn't let this carry on.

"Enough!" She shrieked, and then used psybeam on the attacking Pokémon, her hands glowing different colors and then a beam of light shooting out at the Hoothoot, and hitting it directly. She then turned to the trainer in the bushes, her tail swaying low from side to side in a twitching, showing her anger. She was obviously a threat to the trainer now. She began to run for the boy, ready to tackle him to the ground.

Now Blake had a reason to pay attention to the little twerp: a glowing beam of light shot out of her hands and hit his precious pokemon. "A ginjinka" he smirked noting the tail and ears. The tip of its forked tail quivers when it is predicting its opponent's next move. he noted as it flicked back and forth, better make the prediction not matter.

Hoothoot shuttered the hit off and flew up again, this sudden double battle wasn't very fair in its opinion. A loud echoing "HOO" left its beak in and echoed voice damaging the new enemy's ear drums.

"Shuppet! Feint attack!" Blake ordered deciding the little ghost had not finished his job. The shuppet spun and flew at the girl head first, he rammed at her without fail with his feint attack.

-Yukino-

Yukino covered her ears in pain and closed her eyes tightly. She shook her head back and forth, trying to get the ringing noise out of her head. She had instantly stopped running when the Hoothoot had screeched, and she felt the pain of the Shuppet slamming into her back shortly after.

"Agh!" She fell onto the ground, biting her lip. The ringing noise slowly began to fade away as she laid there for a moment, and then Yukino got up slowly, turning to the trainer. The pain in her back was throbbing. Her eyes were filled with both rage and pain. She lifted her hand and it began to glow with the many colors once again. She put both her hands together, and then shot them at Blake, a large beam forming and shooting towards the trainer.

Blake

Shuppet turned and flew toward the beam to intersect it. Hoothoot just echoed his previous cry and further pierced the skies, and his opponent’s ear drums. The shuppet was not moving fast enough and instead the beam of rainbow energy hit its target. Blake took a direct hit and went flying into the tree behind him. Unfortunately, the hit was critical and he was just a fragile human, the trainer blacked out.

Shuppet’s yellow eyes looked pained as it flew to her master. She rubbed her face against Blake’s chest knocking the pokeball
hanging there to the side. He didn’t budge, Shuppet’s eyes filled with tears.

Hoothoot cawed before flying to the confused whirlipede, and using hypnosis to quickly put it to sleep, according to Blake it was
apparently nap time. He then wandered over and began pecking at Blake’s head wondering why shuppet looked so sad.

Yukino flinched when Hoothoot screeched once again. She leaned against a tree, holding a hand against one of her ears that had seemed to take more of the damage. She sat on the ground and soon the ringing stopped. She sighed with relief, relaxing for a moment, and then looking over at the trainer she had hit, seeing both the worrying Shuppet and the confused Hoothoot. She stared in their direction for a moment, and then stood, beginning to walk over to where he was. She fought with herself on the inside.

'What are you doing? Don't even go near him! He attacked you first...you were defending yourself! Besides, even if you help him, he'll just end up trying to kill you, or even bring you to the prison...you know you can't do that! You'd be known as a traitor too...' Yukino thought to herself.

Yukino stopped in front of him for a moment, crouching down to look at him. She tilted her head, and then looked at where she had hit him. It seemed the impact had been pretty hard, and this human wasn't as tough as she had thought he was. She sighed and lifted Blake's limp body on her back, with his head on her shoulder. She turned to the Shuppet and Hoothoot, not knowing if they liked her suddenly putting him onto her back. She sighed.

"Follow me." She said, looking at both of them. "I don't know how hard I hit him, and I don't know how weak he is." She began walking, struggling a little bit. The bruise on her back wasn't helping...it stung, especially with a weight on her back. "I've got somewhere we can bandage him up or something like that nearby." She would ignore any of the protests she might hear from the Shuppet or the Hoothoot. "And if you don't trust me and don't let me help you," She continued. "then...I dunno what'll happen to him with just you two to help him. He could die if it's bad enough." She continued to walk, not looking back.

Her little place wasn't too far away. It wasn't really a home either. She just had a small box and a blanket underneath some bushes. She set down Blake, sighing with relief when the weight was off her back. She opened the small box, taking out a bandage that she had obviously stolen from someone, since no Gijinka would likely buy something like that and actually get out of the building safe. Plus, no idiot go into a building when they were like her anyways.

She wrapped the bandage around his stomach where she had hit. It was bruised badly, and bleeding slightly, and his back was bruised as well from when he hit his back to the tree. After that, she took her blanket, and before she put it over herself to lay down for the night, she looked over at Blake. She sighed, and then hesitantly put it over him, and laid over the leaves. She wondered why she was helping someone who wanted to hurt her as she slowly fell asleep.

Hoothoot relieved some of the weight on the espeon girl's back by putting a claw in Blake's shoulders and flying along. He didn't understand what was going on now but Blake wasn't saying anything so he must just be sleeping. After dropping Blake off he returned to the sleeping whirlipede and pecked it until it was unconscious before taking it in his beak and bringing it back to the girl’s camp where the hoothoot sat with the whirlipede at its feet and just stared at it.

Shuppet was not as complacent, she insisted on sitting on Blake's head like a hat and shooting nasty looks at the girl. Shuppet was smarter than Bird Brain, and understood that this girl hurt their trainer and she wasn’t going to forgive the girl. For now though, Blake was unconscious and she couldn’t do anything to help him. The tears started to flow again as she rustled his hair every once and a while.

Yukino laid on the ground for a while, asleep. The cold woke her up quickly though. It seemed that the sun would be gone soon, which meant here it would be getting pretty cold. She looked over at the trainer who she'd lended her blanket and felt like she could just steal it from him, but shook her head. If she did, the Shuppet might get even angrier than it already was. Yukino sighed and hugged her knees, watching the two Pokémon. The Hoothoot seemed oblivious about everything, and the Shuppet continued to shoot hateful glares towards Yukino. She stayed where she was, and leaned against a tree, flinching when her back touched the hard bark. She looked over at the Shuppet and smiled slighlty.

"You don't have to keep glaring at me." She said. "I am helping you, aren't I?" She looked down at Blake once again. "I admit I went a little overboard on my attack, but I don't want him to kill me, and I don't want to go to some miserable prison..." She sighed. "Maybe you don't understand. I mean, you aren't like me. People like you. They aren't trying to get rid of you or take you somewhere to be tortured." Her smiled faded and she laid her head against the back of the tree. "Try to get some rest..." She mumbled.

Shuppet's face of anger melted into something more sad and heartbroken, her hate for the person hadn't lessened, she had just become overly concerned about Blake's well being and began nudging at his cheek some more. Seeing that he wasn't waking up she nestled up next to his head and fell asleep knowing the insomniac bird brain would keep an eye out for them.

(Time skip here if that''s okay with GM)

A few hours later, the sun was peaking through the trees and Blake was stirred awake. He tried to get up quickly, unsure of where he was and when he fell asleep but a pounding force on his chest stopped him. There was an intense soreness keeping him down and he grunted a little when getting up failed. He moved up more slowly this time, and his now awake shuppet was supporting him from behind.

Sitting up now, with the blanket on the ground, he was able to see his chest was bandaged and badly bruised, and judging by the pain as Shuppet helped him up his back was as well. Lying nearby was the Espeon Ginjinka, the little pesk was the one that did this to him. He would make her pay.

"Bird Brain" he signaled the unsleeping bird over with a whisper, being sure not to wake the girl. "Use Dream Eater."

The hoothoot obeyed and stood over the girl with glowing red eyes as it destroyed any happy dreams in her mind.

(yeah, the time skip's fine...sorry it's so long too)

-Yukino-

Her dreams seemed normal as they started, with her simply standing in a forest, much like the one she was sleeping in. She recognized her surroundings as her old home with her family...before the humans had seemed to want to kill them all off. Her mother stood near her, and her older brother and younger sister sat and talked with each other. Yukino's father was no where to be seen. Of course, she hadn't seen him since he had left when she was 3 and hadn't come back, although she didn't really care anymore because now she was 13. It had been 10 years since he had left. She'd gotten over the fact that she wouldn't have a father.

It was quiet in the forest except for the noise of chirping...just like this morning. Yukino was preparing a small lunch with a few berries she had found, and water in a bowl from a clean spring nearby. This was the day she couldn't forget about, she realized shortly after she saw her mother lift her head from what she was doing. This was when the humans were beginning to kill her and everyone else off.

"Yukino," her mother said. "stay here with Haruo and Rin please. I'll be back soon." Her mother stood from her crouching position and began to move from where she was, further away from their home and out of sight in an instant.

Yukino shrugged and continued to make the small dinner they were having, grabbing another berry from off the tree and took a small bite of it. If her mother had seen her do that, she would've been in trouble, but she wasn't watching her... Haruo looked up suddenly, listening. He then stood and stared in the direction their mother had left to.

For a moment, there was silence, but her mother came running back in a hurry, picking up Rin and looking at Haruo and Yukino.

"We leave now." She said.

"Mom?" Yukino said, standing up from her spot and keeping a grip on the Pecha Berry she held. "What's going on?"

"I'll explain later." Her mother said, and then began to run quickly, her other two children following behind. All of them were confused, and suddenly Yukino felt something snap around her foot tightly. She let out a pained cry and fell to te ground. Looking back, she could see blood flowing down to the ground, and she saw a Garchomp, its teeth stuck into Yukino's leg. Yukino screamed and kicked the Garchomp's head with her available leg, making it let go and taking a few steps back, shaking its head. The wound she had recieved would leave a permanent scar, that was for sure. Yukino quickly stood and ran to her mother, although she fell when she stepped with her right leg, the one that had been bitten. Her mother turned back and handed Rin to Haruo, running towards the Garchomp that had began to charge at Yukino again. She quickly used confusion on it, making it move around in circles and slam into trees.

Meanwhile in the normal world, Yukino shook where she laid, taking in deep breaths of air. She was sweating as well, and she curled into a ball, as if she was in pain.

Only shortly after the Garchomp was confused, another Pokémon came forward, pinning Yukino's mother to the ground. The Pokémon was a Dusknoir. Yukino began to drag herself to where her mother was, but felt someone grab her wrist and lift her from the ground. Yukino turned and looked over at the person. It was a man, and he was with two others. They all had grins on their faces, and Yukino stared into the man's eyes.

"Hm...they'd pay a lot for something this young..." He said.

Her mother growled angrily, and then slammed the Dusknoir with an attack, sending him flying off into the trees. She stood and began to run towards the man, and suddenly there was a bang, and she fell onto her knees. Yukino stared at her mother, who stayed where she was. The man shook his head, and then turned back to the Garchomp that was beginning to come back to his senses. He tossed her over to it, and quickly spat out a command. While the man wasn't paying attention, Yukino's mother stood, tackling him to the ground and then hitting him with multiple attacks, knocking him unconcious and maybe in a critical condition. She turned towards the other two, her eyes flashing in anger. They quickly took out two more weapons, shooting both at the same time, and her mother fell to the ground. Haruo let out a shocked yell, and they aimed for him as well, killing him off quickly. Rin began to cry and the two men went to go grab Rin and Yukino. The one who went for Yukino was quickly attacked by the still slightly confused Garchomp, and attacked the one who was coming for Yukino. The other grabbed Rin and ran for a car they had not too far away. The Garchomp ran in anothe direction, not returning after that. Yukino stayed where she was for a moment, staring at both her mom and her brother. She moved herself over to her mom's side, and looked down at her. Her eyes became shiny and there was a lump in her throat. She looked over at Haruo, and then laid down in the grass, screaming at the ground. Why had this happened to her?

Yukino suddenly awoke, sitting up from where she was and jumping up. She looked around herself, and then saw Blake with his Hoothoot and Shuppet. They seemed to be staring at her. She quickly used Psybeam, but it missed Blake badly because of her shaking. The nightmare she had just had...she knew it was Blake's doing. The feelings she had for that day all returned to her...the ones she had finally gotten rid of...

Blake

“Seriously?!” Blake flinched as the psybeam shot off again. “Are you trying to kill me?!” He yelled and the clutched his side as his chest and back were rocketed with pain. This bruising wasn’t going to go away quickly and he wasn’t fit enough to fight this girl himself if it came down to it.

Shuppet wasn’t pleased with the girl’s sudden psychic beam and was poised to take it for her master.

Apparently the ginjinkas are dangerous. Blake thought and looked wary of the psychic girl. However, she looked more frightened than anything, the shaking was the greatest indication of that. Perhaps they both needed to calm down and approach this greeting in a more beneficial manner for both parties.

Birdbrain cawed, he had been enjoying eating the dream and was now pleasantly full.

“Calm down, don’t force me to do anything to protect myself.” Blake threatened the espeon lightly, taking a pokeball off his belt pressing the button to prepare it but not yet releasing the beast within.

She stared at Blake for a minute. "Who are you?" She said. "Why did you...attack me with your Hoothoot, even after I helped you?" Her tail flicked back and forth, not because she was predicting anyone's moves, but because she was scared. She saw the pokéball he had grabbed, making her frightened even more than she already was.

'Can I trust him not to attack me? What if he's just getting ready to send out another Pokémon when I'm not paying attention...and then he kills me? She thought to herself.

"Put your other pokéball away...please..." She said quietly. She didn't know what was contained in it, and it was scaring her. A strong Pokémon, or maybe something she had never seen before...a monster? She shook her head and took another step back.

Blake

"You didn't really help, so much as hurt." Blake stressed his injuries further with his huffing and puffing. "Birdbrain was just giving you a taste of your own medicine while you were sleeping, if it made you faint all the more convenient." He grunted before lowering his armed hand trusting another psybeam wasn't heading his way yet. Shuppet flew over to his shoulder and began rubbing up against it like a small floating cat.

"I'm not putting this away until I know I'm safe." Blake continued his threat.

Hoothoot flew up into a nearby tree and began pecking at the bark, he perked up at the mention of his name but was unmoved. Blake had a pokeball out but it wasn't his so he wasn't concerned about that either.
