XWhen the other five members of his group were saddled up and ready to leave, Hide let his fingers drift from the ring and instead to his reigns as he moved Hana closer toward the rest of the convoy. Out of pure habit, he pulled up on one side of Kohaku, shooting Wilbert a look of disdain before noticing Adelheid's presence, to whom his frown noticeably deepened. If Hide hated Wilbert, he despised Adelheid. XX
There were many reasons for him having felt this way toward the Queen's advisor, the first and foremost being that Adelheid was quite possibly the shadiest, most vague and completely untrustworthy man Hideo had ever laid eyes on. Another point was how the man acted toward Weiss. "Well, this is it then. In place of Her Majesty, I hope you all will accomplish this mission." Here it comes... "Especially you, my graceful Lady Sechs." And there it is, the creepy farewell to Weiss. Ugh. XX
Rolling his eyes at Adelheid, Hide edged his horse gently forward as the convoy started on their journey. Not long into their travels, Ren fell into place at Hideo's side, proceeding to go on about whatever he and Emma had been talking about after he'd left their presence. Which really defeated the point of him leaving, but there wasn't much else to do, so Hide listened half-heartedly to his friend's ranting. XX
All during the journey, through fields of tall grass and thick forested areas, Hide quietly observed how everyone else in the convoy interacted with one another. Ren, ever the chatterbox, chatted ceaselessly with anyone who had the balls to put up with him. Hide almost felt bad for the awkward palace soldiers who held too much respect for Ren to turn away his conversation when he became a nuisance. XXX
They stayed the night in a small-town inn and set off again early the next morning, until they finally reached the forest in which the cave stood. Of course, their enemy had no plans of waiting for them to reach the cave, as before they even got there, the stones around them rose into a crowd of creatures. "Well, that didn't take long. Perhaps they'll allow us to get this fight over with quickly so we can go back home." XX
"Everyone, let's sing." Kohaku said, taking the lead as usual. Hideo frowned. "Duh, what else do you think we're gonna do?" Clearing his throat, Hide slid gracefully down off his horse and held his hand out in front of him, quietly murmuring the lyrics to a song he still hated hearing. I was searching for the reason I'm able to remain myself... The ring around his finger appeared to turn liquid, flowing in silver tendrils around his fingers and into his palm, where it stretched out into a sword. XXX
Well, what are we waiting for? We might as well get this over with before any of the Queen's precious soldiers get killed. Gripping his sword tight in his hand, Hide took off toward the nearest Thoryvos, ducking under its swing and effectively slicing the creature in half, stopping a moment to watch it dissolve into a pile of stone chunks.
