It was another bright and early day for those inside the RED base. Okay, well, at least it was early. There was no way that they would be able to sleep in late. Ever. Whether it was one of her teammates screaming at them to get up and get ready or an announcement over the loudspeaker, Meiya always found herself dragging her half asleep body out of the bed before it wanted to leave. Being one of the younger ones there, she offered to take one of the top bunks. Not that she minded at all; she thought they were a lot of fun. Judging by the amount of light that was streaming through the windows (or not), Meiya assumed that it was still very early. That, and the fact that she could still count the body of every other teammate still laying in bed. First one up!
Even though she was still really groggy, she was able to shimmy down the side, back onto solid ground. The blond Scout turned toward the showers, walking slowly and zombie-like. She turned on the faucet to luke warm, standing under the stream of water for a few moments before actually moving to clean herself. When she was done, she patted herself dry and slipped on her uniform. Nothing like a fresh set of clothes to start the day! And with her new clean feeling came a wave of energy. Being her, this energy would last her all day. In fact, it would probably only increase as the day went on. Meiya just wasn’t much of a morning person.
Meiya trotted along happily now, the dreary walk she had earlier long gone by now. She entered the small kitchen portion of the bunker, making her way toward the fridge. Gotta eat, gotta eat. Of course, she wasn’t about to cook for herself; for one, she was an awful cook and she didn’t want to burn the base down. And secondly, there were leftovers from dinner the night before, which had been prepared by the Medic. If she didn’t eat some now, she probably wouldn’t get any (some of the people here had the biggest appetites). So she scooped some of the leftover food onto a plate and grabbed a fork from the drawer. She didn’t bother heating it up. Instead, she plopped the plate down at the table, took a seat, and shoveled in a mouthful of food.
