Introduction
A young lady, at the same time, owns a small apartment collective in the center of New York. Never has she had anyone living there, she never seems to find anyone who wants to rent any of the nine rooms she has. She tries again this year, though, putting up an ad on the internet;
Looking for a place to live?
Nine rooms for rent in the center of New York! Rooms are large, each having their own bathroom and loads of space for anything and everything. The collective shares a big kitchen and two living rooms, one large and one a bit smaller. Animals are allowed, preferably not dogs. Rent is cheap, contact for prices!
Six people answered her ad, six people move in later that fall, not knowing anything. The young woman on the phone seemed secretive about a lot, but the prices were extremely low and the location was perfect, so why not?
You are these six people. Shape your character as you like, but keep in mind; they're in their twenties, they're normal people and they are NOT perfect. I want to keep the genders even, which means you probably have a higher chance of getting accepted if your character is male.
The apartment collective
Rooms are numbered 1-9.
First floor: Big living room, rooms 1-4, kitchen, bathroom.
Second floor: Small living room, rooms 5-8.
Loft: Storage space, room 9.
Basement: Currently unknown, young woman's residence.
Big living room
Gathering place for almost everything. Contains sitting group, bookshelves, tables, television and everything else you would expect to see in a living room.
Small living room
Smaller gathering place, rarely used but attractive nonetheless. Quiet place, ideal for reading, paper work and other non-noisy activities.
Kitchen
Big kitchen designed for several people. Contains three fridges, three sinks, a lot of closet space, two dishwashers, one big table and the general cooking tools and stoves.
Bathroom/washing room:
Two showers, two washing machines and one clothes dryer. Three toilets and two sinks. All "personal areas" are separated by walls. The separate rooms, though they have bathrooms, does not have showers.
General room information:
Contains one bed, a writing desk and a lamp. Everything else must be brung. The rooms, as I said, have bathrooms, but these does not have showers. Most of the rooms are of different sizes, and some may contain other things than the basic stuff. Each room has its own lock, all empty rooms are also locked. All the keys hang in the hallway in the young woman's residence.
Room 1:
The second-to-largest room, positioned right by the entrance. Has its own small hallway and also contains a bookshelf.
Taken - Drake
Room 2:
This room stands empty. The contents are unknown.
unavailable
Room 3:
The smallest room. Barely has space for the furniture that is already there. Also has a horrible, queasy yellow color on the walls.
open
Room 4:
Medium-sized room, nothing special about it. The lock might be hard to handle sometimes.
open
Room 5:
This room is right by the stairs to the second floor. It is also empty, but there is a sign on the door saying "storage".
unavailable
Room 6:
Another medium-sized door with its own entrance to the small living room.
open
Room 7:
The second-to-smallest room. Also has its own hallway though, so there's room for some things in there.
Taken - Whisper
Room 8:
This room also stands empty.
unavailable
Room 9:
The loft room. By far the biggest room in the house, with both its own hallway, a bigger bathroom and a bookshelf. It has few windows, but one of the windows lead directly to the roof, where you can climb up.
open
Room 2, 5 and 8 holds secrets of which your characters know nothing of. You will get some information, though;
Room 2:
A man lives there, performing experiments on deformed animals.
Room 5: There are shelves full of potions and elixirs on the walls, each with a different purpose.
Room 8: Two little kids live here who love to do tricks on unknowing people. They're twins, and quite scary if I may say so myself.
It's up to you how you want to play with this. Keep in mind, though, the young woman does not want you in those rooms.
Slots:
Girl 1 - taken
Girl 2 - reserved for Wunderland
Girl 3 - open
Boy 1 - taken

Boy 3 - open

I have no requirements for the character descriptions, but I like pictures! Also, their looks shouldn't be perfect either. Everyone can't be skinny and blonde with full lips and long eyelashes. Please.

Check in when you're back please, I'd love to have you on! :)

SlightlyInsane wrote:Lucette, are we allowed to request or choose rooms or will you assign rooms once all character sheets are in?
Of course you're allowed to choose! If you don't, I'll just assume you want to get assigned one as the character arrives the house.

Of course you may!
Wunderland wrote:I would like to reserve a female character. I think you should put a skelly to make it easier.
I don't really like the skeleton-thing. I want you to show that you can create a character without a form to "fill out", besides it's more fun for me to read that way! I'll reserve a female spot for you, of course.
