“Yeah!” Arden grinned, relieved that Jack didn’t seem to be upset about her several blunders. She actually looked up to him, how well he was able to operate in the social realm that he didn’t have to count the seconds in conversational pauses or debate what next to say. It seemed to come so naturally to him, especially with his super-mature personality. She looked up to all of her friends, actually. They were all really comfortable with each other, with their families, and even with strangers. She often depended on them for help when it came to things like that, which she was really thankful for! So helping them out with their academics was nothing.
She giggled at Jack’s horrified expression (and secretly took a picture to print out later), as well as Risuki and Raziya’s reactions. The clam incident...like many of the incidents that one or more of the members of the little friendship circle had declared to be unmentionable forever, it had started off innocuously but exploded. With so many exuberant people in a group, she supposed incidents like these were unavoidable...maybe? She’d have to figure it out later by carefully documenting them and figuring out if they really were ‘avoidable’ or not.
“Yeah, we’re coming! And if we’re having seafood, we have to have some sort of crab meat, too!” she told Raziya, before turning back to Daniel and giving him another light kick in the shin. Not because she disliked him or wasn’t close to him, but just because it seemed like an effective way of getting him to move.
“C’mon, let’s go before they really do leave us behind.” She waited for a bit, and seeing that the effectiveness of the kick had gone down, opted for grabbing one of his sleeves and pulling.
“Daniieeeel! Hurry up before I-I-I start reading your most embarrassing notebook out loud! I have your backpack, so don’t think I’m lying! And I’ll use the school’s intercom, you know, and everyone who hasn’t gone home yet is gonna hear all of the weird things you've written down!”
