         Something hard was against her head. A wall. A brick wall. Ky opened her eyes. She was sitting up, propped up against a wall. The sky was a bleak gray hue. Ky grimaced. Her head hurt. She took in the words the voice in her mind said, and took note of the number in the corner of her eye. She rose, preparing herself. She rolled her neck, pleased to hear a few pops, and cracked her knuckles. Standard fight procedure for Ky. She looked across the empty street and saw figures in a park. She stuffed her hands in her pockets and strode across the street.
