She had never been overtly fond of lessons and learning, at least not in the sense of academics. Secrets intrigued her, and she engorged on rumors without hesitation. But classes? Teachers? It was a puzzle she didn't care to fit into, and so as she sat at the back of the room, she did not raise her hand or offer her own thoughts regarding the "professor's" oh-so-original query. She simply basked in her own thoughts, pinning silent judgments on her unsuspecting classmates as her eyes flicked languidly from one student to another.

Her boredom-fueled people-watching received an interval when she was joined by Khai. "I'm hurt, Dez. At least punch me in the face next time so I know you notice me." She met his gaze with a teasing smile, her eyes seemingly dusting over his offered face in consideration.

"And risk damaging that lovely mug? I wouldn't dare."

Once again her attention was stolen, this time by her fellow sin, Lucy, who sat front and center, as if to emphasize her own self-importance.

"...the story goes that he fell because of Pride, the First Sin." Desiree snorted, suppressing the laugh with the back of her hand. "God forbid we forget that little fact." She whispered to Khai with undisguised sarcasm, watching the First Sin in amusement as she warbled on. "But what's with this substantial lack of ass-kissing?"


"...punished to rule over Hell for being the only angel with balls to see the truth behind the righteous 'God'..." "There it is."

By the time Lucifera was done, Desiree had relaxed into her chair once more.
