Hello?

Avery Nissen

Avery woke up early. She put on a white t-shirt, dark blue shorts, and white flip flops. Deciding that she needed more color in her outfit, she put a bluebird necklace on. Brushing a strand of hair out of her eyes, Avery packed the last of her things into her bags, carefully folding her clothes and placing them down neatly. She dumped the contents of her tote bag (which was the bag that she would be bringing with her everywhere) onto her bed. She made sure she had everything she needed, and then put everything back in. She pulled out her phone and texted Sunday, Demetri, Dylan, Devan, and Selena.

"hey im finished packing! when are you guys gonna pick me up and also whose car are we taking?"

She put her phone back into her pocket, grabbed her bags, and ran down the stairs in excitement. Her good mood was lessened slightly when she saw Janie and Megyn at the door. Janie was her dad's girlfriend, and Megyn was Janie's daughter. Frankly, Avery didn't understand what her dad saw in Janie. She nodded her head at them in acknowledgement, and went outside to stand on her front porch. She took a picture of the street her house was on, just for fun. The summer sun was blindingly bright, so Avery took her sunglasses out and put them on. She sat down on one of the steps and waited.

The sun shone down Sunny's face, causing her to squint her eyes and try to cover the light with her hands. Now that she was wide awake, she had the chance to check her alarm clock just beside her bed. It was about nine thirty in the morning, and let’s just say that Sunny wasn't a morning person at all. She'd never seen the world at such an early hour in the morning while on vacation. Finally, the end of school had come and she and her friends where going on a road trip. She slowly climbed out of her bed and kicked the duvet away, stretching her spine as she did so. Her purple duffel bag was resting next to her walk-in closet, with just a small messenger bag outside of it. There, she had her cell phone, her sunglasses, and many other things she could not live without.

Scratching her bright red hair, and pulling it up into a ponytail, she made her way into her closet. There, she changed into a pair of black jeans, a white v-neck shirt with the image of a cat in the front, her favorite crimson hoodie, and a pair of ankle-high combat boots. She had already taken a shower the night before because she knew that she and her friends where leaving early. Suddenly, Sunny’s cell phone rang from inside her messenger bag. She quickly opened the bag and took out her phone, reading a new text message from Avery.

From: Avery N.
Hey I’m finished packing! When are you guys gonna pick me up and who’s care are we taking?

Sunny smiled at the text message and replyed.

Re: Avery N.
I’m all done too but I got no car yet, sorry. Whose are we taking then?

Devan was already awake and packed when he received said text. He was wearing a simple t-shirt and jeans combo and currently, he was screwing around with his MP3, as without it, he'd die. It was filled with various artist of his favorite genres, and personally, he thought it was great. However, most people didn't care for metal, and thusly they wouldn't think the same way as him, but he didn't care much.

Hey I'm finished packing! When are you guys gonna pick me up and who's car are we taking?

Devan sighed as he left the house with his bag over his shoulder and phone in hand. He could've sworn they talked about this earlier. Did she not listen?

We can take mine, Avery. I'll be there in a few to pick you up.

Just in case someone else forgot, he decided to send a text to his other companions.

To: Sunday, Demetri, Lena, Dyl
We decided on my car, remember? I'll pick you guys up soon.

After finishing his text, he threw his bag in the back of his vehicle and shut the the back door, mentally cursing lightningpoint's inability to copy and paste. He almost called the wrong person out on grammar mistakes. But ah well. In any case, he moved himself to the driver's seat and got in before backing out and beginning dandily towards Avery's house in his 2004 Kia Sorento.

Dylan Masters
Dylan groaned loudly as he phone buzzed next time, waking him up at some ridiculously early hour. Okay, it wasn't that early but he was not the early riser type. Throwing a pillow at his phone he rolled over and buried his head into his pillow, hoping to god he was in a tasteless nightmare. His phoned beeped again though, as if making sure he would stay awake. Rolling over, Dylan hesitantly retrieved his phone from where it had fallen onto the ground when he had thrown the pillow at it. Squinting he was able to make out the time, swearing under his breathe he regretfully left the comfort of his bed. Throwing on a pair of jeans and a grey tee that was lying on the floor he headed downstair to hopefully find some sort of breakfast.

Today was not his lucky day, finding no magical meal waiting for him on the bench Dylan settled for a mouthful of juice straight out of the bottle. He was interrupted mid-mouthful though by his father passing through the kitchen. "Could you please not drink out of the bottle Dylan," He said half sternly and half out of habit knowing full well it was too late for his son to change. Dylan just ignored his father as he finished his mouthful and headed back to his room to grab his duffel bag he had packed the night before.

Shoving on a pair of shoes Dylan left the house after yelling out a goodbye to his father. He decided that he'd just head to Avery's place and get picked up there. It seemed easiest and Avery's house was only a five minute walk from his place, of course that was if you knew the back way. This back way included cutting through one of their neighbors backyards and taking a dodgy looking alleyway that Dylan was sure a dead body would turn up in one day. There was no dead body today though and Dylan arrived at Avery house in no time.

Sending off a quick reply to Devan, Dylan headed over to where Avery was sitting on her front steps. The sun was shining quite brightly today and he was in a good mood. He was certain that this road trip would go smoothly and then he'd return home and his place would be ready and waiting for him. "Hey gorgeous," Dylan said giving Avery a wink as he approached her. Sitting down next to her he lazily threw his arm around her waist, giving her a quick kiss. "You excited for this road trip or what?"

Avery read through all of her texts and replied to Sunny.

"heheh late wakeup again?"

She saw that Lena and Demetri hadn't responded yet. She hoped that nothing happened to them, because otherwise, the whole road trip wouldn't be quite as fun. As Avery waited for Devan's car to pull up, she saw Dylan walking over with his bags. He winked at her and greeted her with a "Hey gorgeous."

"You excited for this road trip or what?" he said as he threw his arm around her and kissed her.

Avery grinned and put her arm around Dylan's waist. She kissed him on the cheek.

"I'm super excited! I hope this road trip goes well- I don't want any of us to argue. Unless it's about directions. Hey, by the way, what is it with guys and directions?" she said as she took a picture of Dylan for the trillionth time.

Selena was already dressed and ready. Well sort of. She was standing over her bed, just packing up the last few things into her purse. She had woken up much earlier as usual, to go out for her normal jog or run. It was simply a habit that she had grown into, after all a little bit of extra exercise wouldn't mean any harm. She would wake up early, take a quick shower then do a quick run around a nearby park or just around her street a few times, just listening to music through her iPod. Once she was finally done with her purse she put it on top of her medium-sized suitcase, that one of the family's help had packed for her just last night. Turning around she came right into view of her mirror as she looked over her appearance, dressed in black skinny jeans and a black short-sleeved lace top, with a cream coloured cardigan on top and a pair of cream flats, making sure all the colours coordinated well. Her blonde hair, fell in its natural wavy state past her shoulders as she ran a few fingers through it while turning around on her heels.

Hearing her phone ring a few times signalling new texts, Selena raised her eyebrow for a second wondering who it could be, and then the obvious answer clicked of it being her friends, most probably saying something about their road trip. She walked over picking it up from her desk, first looking at the text from Avery but before replying she looked over at the text from Devan, and simply decided to reply to him. 'Alright. See you then' So all she had to do now was wait for Devan to arrive and pick her up, so they could finally start this road trip. Personally she was really looking forward to it, despite whatever had happened in the last year, especially concerning her break up with Devan, since they were finally done with High School and who knew if they would even end up in the same college again. Her mind then became flooded with all the events of last year both bad and good, but shook them away not wanting to ponder on the negative ones for too long, after all she was over it, well at least she thought so.

Slipping her phone into the back pocket of her jeans, Selena grabbed her purse with her left hand, and wrapped her right hand around the handle of her suitcase, which wasn't as heavy as she thought it would be, wheeling it out slowly of her room and down the hallway toward the stairs. Lifting her bag up at the handle, she began making her way down the staircase, the voices of her family having breakfast carried through the room. She put her things down to the side and just walked into the dining groom, greeting them with a small smile and a 'Good morning', before taking her seat as she reached for a glass of orange juice, just sipping through it, listening to their conversation, her gaze occasionally turning to her wrist watch to see how long they would all be before arriving at her house.

Dylan Masters
Dylan poked his tongue out as Avery took a picture of him. She was always taking pictures of everyone and everything, she was really good at it too. everyone had just gotten used to having their picture taken by her though, personally he hardly even noticed anymore."Okay, it's not us guys problem, what with you girls always having to ask people. Why can't just trust us to know they way?" Dylan replied jokingly as he nudged Avery jokingly. Truthfully, he'd never admit it but it was kind of a pride thing. When Dylan was alone he had no problem stopping and asking for directions, it was really only when he was with someone he refused to be wrong. Especially if that someone was a girl.

"God, I hope there's no fighting. I don't think I handle sitting in the car for hours on end with everyone fighting at each other." Dylan said, suddenly realizing that maybe this road trip wasn't a great idea. It wasn't that they all didn't get along, it's just that some of them tended to have conflicting personalities and well, being stuck in a car for an extended period could make any irritable. "I just hope things aren't going to be awkward between Selena and Devan." Dylan added on, they hadn't all really hung out as a group since their breakup. Everyone was kind of worried that things would be the same anymore.

"But hey, if things get too crazy fighting wise, me and you can go off on our own," Dylan said grinning slyly. He was confident that their relation would survive this roas trip. It had survived senior year after all, and well they were that couple they hardly ever fought. At least not about anything serious, they were like each other's best friend. Taking Every camera's out of her hands, it was his turn to take a quick picture of her. She looked gorgeous, the sun shining through her hair, he definitely knew why he had asked her out all those months ago.
