Rowena's initial reaction to Peter greeting was to blush profusely. Her mother hadn't spoken up, and yet the gentleman came forward. Firstly she had somewhat embarrassed about the show of affection in front of a stranger, now she was even more so. She tried to hide it though through a smile that she had a hard time keeping on her face.
When Peter it seemed quickly moved on, Rowena escaped silently and even more confused up the stairs. She had wasted the little time she had in greeting her sister, now she did have to get ready for the events tonight. She thought her confusion was because of her naivety, yet she found Peter Shaw to be very...standoffish (well she couldn't clearly think of the word she wanted to say, standoffish did sound way to harsh). She sighed, but gave a smile to her father and sister as she passed them. She stopped them but for a second, to quickly peck her father's cheek and give an encouraging smile to Esther. And asking silently if Esther could send Katy her way to help her dress.
She knew Esther would probably insist on helping, but Rowena made sure her point was clear that she didn't want her sister's help. She didn't need Esther thoughts on the evening to invade her mind anymore then possible. She wouldn't keep Katy long, she just needed someone else other then her sister.
A few minutes passed, when the maid appeared looking a little frazzled, "I am sorry Katy, I will make this quick, I think I will leave my hair down too, there are some ribbons there. However I can do that, just help me with the dress." Her dress was a little plainer than Esther, mostly because of the fact she was younger.
The Green Dress though was very pretty. Rowena dressed in record time, and dismissed Katy so she could be alone for a second. Her hair was down and braided, perhaps it was a little young little for her. However it was one of her best features she thought and take away from the plainness of the dress.
Putting on her shoes and picking up a fan, she realized she was really hungry and hoped her stomach would not growl until dinner. She exited the door again, silently praying at least for a bit of courage to get her through the night. She walked down the stairs on her own. She went slowly as if trying to get the moment before the ball to last longer.
