Darrin was writing rapidly as Zooey had entered into the rehearsal room. He'd not noticed the woman entering the room. He continued writing, that is until he felt someone touching his shoulder. He stopped writing, and turned to look at whoever had tried to get his attention. "-aren't you hungry? I've got breakfast." he heard Zooey ask. Darrin smiled gently at the woman at his side. "Is it that time already?" he asked softly, laying his notebook and pen down. Darrin gently reached over to Zooey and took her hand into his own. He leaned over close to the woman that sat next to him, and then placed a gentle kiss upon her cheek. "Thank you." he said softly as he rose from the couch. He slowly made his way to where Zooey had left the plate and drink. He began eating slowly, eyeing the woman. "Have you ate yet?" he asked gently. He thought that she most likely hadn't, seeing as how it was still quite early. He waited for her response, smiling. "I'm sorry for leaving you this morning. But..you looked very content and I didn't think that I should wake you." Darrin smiled once again, happy that Zooey had been the one to bring him breakfast. He couldn't help but wonder what she thought of him bring her into his room and not her own. He tried to push the thought from his mind. If he had upset her, she would have said something.
Darrin slowly made his way back to the couch, with the breakfast, and sat back down close to Zooey. Over the past several days, he'd gained quite a bit of his former weight back. He was slowly beginning to look like himself once again. Darrin remained a bit quiet as he finished eating. It was almost as if he didn't know what to say. The handsome man slowly sat the plate and cup off to the side. He turned back to Zooey. "I should be down sometime after lunch for a break. I think that we should all go outside or something? You can ask Zeke and Zaira what it is that they'd prefer to do." he said, smiling. Before Zooey was able to say anything, Darrin was leaning over towards her, placing a soft kiss upon her lips. He lingered for a few moments, wishing that they could stay there for forever. Darrin slowly pulled away, obvious that he'd not wanted to. He knew that Zooey needed to get back downstairs to his children. "I'll see you later?" he asked softly. Darrin didn't want Zooey to leave him. The longer that she remained upstairs, the more likely it was that his mother would come looking for her.
As Zaira ate, she'd heard her Granny tell Zoe to take her Daddy some food. The little girl smiled to herself. She was very happy that the two adults seemed to be getting along quite well. She'd been sad that Daddy hadn't come down to eat with them but she remembered a time when it had been the same. Perhaps he'd started back....working? Isn't that what her Mommy had called it? She wasn't sure and decided not to worry too much about it. She continued eating, eyeing Zeke. She could see that he'd been disappointed that Daddy hadn't come down. She gave him a sad smile, as if saying that she too was quite sad about it. "Maybe he'll come down later?" she suggested. After some time, she heard Zooey coming back downstairs. She tried to crane her neck to see the woman that was Talking with her Granny.
Judith had cleaned up most of the kitchen by the time that Zooey had made it back downstairs. She turned to the younger woman, smiling. "Thank you for taking that up to him. He ate everything?" she asked gently. Thought Judith had found Zooey in Darrin's room, she wasn't angry. She only hoped that Zooey knew what she was getting herself into. She would say nothing in front of the children. No...she would wait until they were alone once again. "I'll probably be leaving earlier than I normally do. Mick has a doctor's appointment that I need to go with him to. You'll be alright?" she asked, eyeing the woman closely. Though Judith loved spending time at her son's home, she wished that her husband would come with her. She knew that that would never happen as long as the two were being so stubborn.
