Kazuyama's Story

Kazu rushed as fast as he could through the heavily wooded forest by the time the sun had broken the horizon, he was already passing through Caleah. Realizing that there was no way the knight would have made it this far so quickly, he stopped at the small town's gate to ask the guards if they had seen a crimson haired knight pass through. They had no recollection at first, but as Kazu turned to enter the city, one of the guards spoke back to him. "Wait, Ma'am! There was an armored woman that came through this morning before the sun rose. Her hair looked to be red, but it was dark, so I couldn't quite tell." Kazu grinned at this and continued on into the town as quickly as possible in hopes of finding her in the markets.

'I may find her yet.' He thought to himself, and as soon as the thought was in his mind, he saw her at a potions masters stall, along with a girl... dressed in blue robes... As he noticed this, his speed lowered until he was just walking as he watched her fade away into the air along with the other girl. He couldn't understand at first what had just happened. He knew that she was right there, but now she was gone.

He ran to the potion master and spoke quickly. "Where did she go?! The red-haired knight!" The potions master looked frightened at this apparent swordswoman having no idea who she was speaking of. He hadn't had a single customer in the past two days. The man stated that he had no idea who he was talking about, and Kazu leaned forward taking him up by the collar and pulling him closer before whispering somewhat angered. "The red haired.. Spear wielding... Knight... That was just here... Where did she go?" Kazu then snapped his eyes wide at his behavior. Was this the kind of behavior how he used to act? He let go of the man and asked a new question. "Have you had a customer with long red hair, dressed in silver armour?. She would have been carrying a spear with a long blade on the end."

The man looked puzzled at this sudden change. He hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Y-yes. Almost a week ago now. She was here with another young woman dressed in blue, but she left heading to the east saying that the rest of their party was already waiting outside of town."

Kazu thanked the old man and left him with an entire gold piece for troubling him so greatly and walked away, scorning himself for how he treated the man. 'Was I a bad person before?' He continued walking on in town looking for the knight. He would spend the day here, and travel tonight. It was risky, but this way he would be able to search longer. 'The man said we had been traveling east a week ago from here, so that is back to Brainde, which means they had already been to Crystalden before, or at least somewhere to the west. Kazu began searching through the rest of town as he thought of this.

Kazu decided it would be best to wait, for at least until this evening to leave Caleah to at least give Altara a chance to catch up if she had left Brainde after him. He took the few supplies he had gathered (2 packs with feather-weight enchanted upon them and a small amount of food, a mid-grade whetstone, and a few potions) He fit all of his gear inside of the first pack, it coming to a weight of about twenty-three lbs after the twenty five percent had been taken away. He then fit that pack within the second, further dropping the weight to nearly sixteen lbs. He figured he could continue this process an infinite number of times, but his coin bag told him otherwise. He settled for this, quite comfortable with the weight and set off for a spot by the road outside of town.
