Personality: Yun Bei is a strong young woman, and works hard to be able to stand up for herself; to make others see her as a strong warrior as well as a woman. She has a habit of being very blunt and honest, and doesn’t always think about the effect her words will have on people. Of course, she never intends on hurting people. So, after she realizes what she’s done, she does what she can to apologize. She’s very creative, and is a very good mechanic- though her father doesn’t approve of that particular hobby. She loves to help others, but not when it interferes too greatly with her own happiness or the happiness of those she cares about.
Brief Biography:
The Caihuo family were mechanics in the war Sozin started on the steamships that were so often seen. They even had a hand in the drill used on BaSingSe. After the coronation of Firelord Zuko, industry was downsized, but rather that drop the prominent family from their status, Zuko rewarded their loyalty to his family by allowing them to keep their noble status. They never forgot this, and worked to find a way to earn their status as they always had. Turns out that with a bit of work, the firebenders of their family were pretty good. They now own the most prestigious firebending dojo in the Fire Nation.
Yun Bei is the third child of Master Ri-Ying’s four children, and the younger daughter out of the four (the second child, Chou Bei, was also a girl). She was born in their country home, in a place much like Ember Island. She and her sister lived here together with their nannies and servants, and half of the time their mother (Rixuan). A younger brother was added about the time Chou Bei was old enough to move out (the younger girls lived here until they were old enough to go to the Royal Fire Academy For Girls around age 6; there were family visits, but only the young children lived there all year round with their mother(who visited the city often enough)).
About a year after, Yun Bei turned four. A few months after her birthday, during winter holiday while her whole family was there, she decided to imitate her father and brother’s firebending practice out of fun. She did more than imitate, she successfully shot a flame.
She was allowed to move to the city in order to train with her father (her mother stayed so that the baby brother would not be too lonely and brought him with her to the city when she visited). Yun Bei was put into firebending classes early, and she did her best to show she deserved it and didn’t just get in because her father was the master. She’s been one of the top in her class ever since, even after entering the Royal Fire Academy For Girls, though she begun to dabble in mechanics in what little free time she had as a means of relaxing herself. At 12, she started to sneak down to the Harbor City with some of her friends from her firebending classes to get away from all of the 'fuddy-duddies'. Needless to say, she refined her strong personality and skills with a wrench down there- despite her father’s wishes.
