A normal girl, Paige moves to Fells Church which lurks deep secrets. Along the way, she meets the mysterious Salvatore brothers and other characters as well. She comes from a family of hunters. A group of friends takes her under their wing. She rekindles with an old family friend, Nathan. They drifted apart over the years. He's also a hunter. Her mother's tragically past away. It's just her dad now. She develops a bond with Damon. Aria is quite taken with Stefan, but doesn't seem that interested. James have had a thing for each for a long but never blossomed to anything more. It's revealed that Damon had a passionate love with a young girl named Bianca. They seem happy and in love until dark clouds emerge. She gets diagnosed with psychotic depression. He tries everything possible to keep her safe. She attempts suicide, so she's omitted to a hospital. She asks him to turn her because she thinks that's the only way out. The problems seem to have solved, but her counsellor, John Foster has been brain washing her. She breaks his heart because she feels he made her go mad. They never see her again after that. Strange animal attacks start to occur. She begins to question everything. Nathan makes more of a central role. He has a long time friends named Cole and Wes. Their relationship is put to the test where they meet the enigmatic Bianca Stratford. Nathan's fallen hard for her but Wes' intentions are not yet known. She registers at their school. The boys were shocked to say to the least. She proposes a game with Nathan and Wes. A list of all the things they're not allowed to do at the high school. The first one to fill it all out will get to know her. Nathan refuses to play because he feels it's pointless. However Wes takes up her challenge. Bianca befriends Paisley. She beings to have mindless sex with Wes even though it's quite obvious to everyone that it was Nathan was the one she loved. In Paige's world, she finds out their secret and turns them into council. Later she regrets what she did, so she saves them. But she makes it clear that she needs time to process all of this. Homecoming is just around the corner. Everyone seems to have someone in mind. It unfortunately doesn't go as planned. Bianca's reason to come to town is she wants revenge on Damon, she blames him for her shortcomings. Problems facing the love triangle ensue.
