Laney is the most unique person you will ever meet. When she has a goal, she would literally jump off of a bridge to achieve that goal. That is why she is now rather good at many things. Laney hates being scared of anything, and so she is currently trying to eat more peanut butter and look at needles more often. She isn't very open, but she will tell secrets to her closest friends. Once you become close to her, she will never leave your side. Laney has a very happy personality, and she can't stand being sad, or watching others cry.
Laney has some flaws, though. She gives people too many chances, even if they have hurt her. She is also rather gullible, and trusts people a bit too readily, which can get her into loads of trouble. At times, she can subconciously be a bit bossy, but nothing too extreme.
She is rather like the wind in several ways. She tends to be rather quiet, and calm, at least until you meet her. She also likes to not decide on a strict path, and she more 'goes with the flow'
Capabilities
Bloodline Gift: Laney can control an element; wind, causing her to be able to create mild to violent gusts of wind.
Bloodline Weakness: Sometimes Laney's powers can get out of control, and cause accidents. Also, she is really bad at picking up on sarcasm, and when it comes to flirting, she is in the dark.
Other Skills: Laney can sing beautifully, and sometimes her singing can convince people to do things. She also picked up a little Karate from her brother, but nothing too amazing.
Biography
Laney was born on a wickedly hot day, as the sun beat down on her plump baby face. Even then, her gurgles sounded more like singing. She grew up quite simply, in a small cottage with her brother and her parents, who treated her fairly enough. She was loved and cared for, fed, brought to school, and kept healthy, so Laney was happy. She was content with what life had given her.
Then came the day of Laney's awakening. Her friend had made a small rude remark about God-remembers-what, and she went berserk. She just seemed to loose control of the world, and soon, the tornado began. It whizzed through the town, sweeping down houses, killing people. Most importantly, it killed her mother. Her kind, loving mother who had taught her to sing old folk songs at night when she couldn't sleep, who would laugh as she cooked chicken pot pie for dinner, who cared for Laney through hell and high water, was gone. And it was her fault.
Of course, no one else knew that Laney was responsible for her mother's death in any was, but she knew, and it was killing her. The secret gnawed at her stomach everywhere she went. At the park where they used to sit on the swings and talk, at school where her mom used to drop her off, even at the creek where her mom accidentally fell in once. Every step she took killed her inside, and she nearly went insane.
A couple of months later, Laney found what made her happy again; music. She listened to about every kind out there. Rock, pop, classical music, and about everything in between. If she began feeling guilty, or mad, or confused, she put on her headphones, and let the world melt around her.
(I have not written any posts 400+ words as of yet, due to the fact that all of the RP's I have participated in didn't require it, but I swear that I will be able to handle it)
